A decently busy but calm atmosphere for a weekday night! The staff was nice and was quick with our orders. I ordered the small size of the Original Peak with cereal flakes ($5.75) and chose the organic milk base. It was delicious! It wasn't too sweet, a perfect size, felt creamy and light, and contrasted nicely with the crunchy cereal. It hit the spot after dinner. The only thing we noticed was there were quite a lot of small flies flying around or landing on our takeout boxes. It was a little uncomfortable but didn't affect the taste of the soft serve thankfully!
I've been going to Soft Peaks on Kingsway since it first opened and it's been my to-go ice cream spot for years! Their soft serve melts in my mouth and pairs perfectly with the various delicious toppings. I got the seasonal Tiramisu chestnut this time and had chunks of real chestnut pieces in my cup! Green tea This was super good and the matcha was flavourful and not overpowering. It wasn't bitter so I was glad about that. I liked that they have red beans on the side but I would have liked there to be more red bean. I think adding something chewy to the mix like little mochi bites would have elevated this even more! They currently have their rotational flavour as pistachio and I'm so sad I didn't ask for a sample before ordering! (Remember to ask for a sample if you're unsure!) I thought I wouldn't like it paired with the matcha but I tried my friends afterwards and I really enjoyed it. The pistachio was subtly nutty and sweeter so I think it would have paired well.
This monthly special is definitely an upgrade! Their matcha is strong and the mochi, rice crackers, mochi and tea jello goes so well with the entire dessert. It's so smooth and so well balanced. This one also didn't melt we quickly and I am wondering if it's because of the stronger green tea texture mix? I did notice the green tea is stronger than their usual.. so that's a win!!
We were walking in the area and walked inside Soft Peaks on a whim. It's a small intimate space with limited individual seating but has large stairs where you can sit and share the space with others. The concept is simple, the base is soft serve icecream and you choose the toppings and sauces. The service was friendly and quick. I just didn't like the flavour as much. I maybe wrong but I need my soft serve to be light and creamy. This was dense and felt heavy. I will not go back.
The matchamisu is to die for. Not too sweet and the matcha isn't too bitter. A nice balance of creaminess and matcha flavours. Service is great and the cafe is spacious and clean.
First time visiting and I love it and will be back! Their milky soft serve is so delicious, I love that it's not overly sweet so the toppings can really balance it all out. I tried the brown sugar boba and it was so perfect! Instagram worthy cute presentation, I'm a fan! My partner loved the one they tried too, I think I just found our new date spot :)
Their croffle coffee combo for $5 is such a good deal! I work nearby and get it every time I'm in the office. The American is so creamy and delicious. And for the price of 1 coffee elsewhere you get an original fresh baked croffle too! Surprising for an ice cream place. For soft serve I treat myself to the red bean soft serve. I think there's a points/reward system but can't recall. If they don't, they should as I would rack up points for sure.
I have been to Soft Peaks multiple times. This time B's parents came to visit and they wanted soft serve ice creams so we bought them here. They each ordered the honeycomb peak cone large and I got the blue mountain in a cup small. My blue mountain ice cream was delicious. The blueberry was freshly made at the store. You can tell that it is not the instant stuff. It is made with real blueberries and it was super delicious. B's parent loved the honeycomb peak. They said that the honeycomb was delicious and when you get to the bottom of the cone, it gets better. The other flavors that I have tried are green forest and mudslides. Both don't disappoint. This is an awesome treat for the summer time. It is on the pricy side but I don't get it often. I will definitely be back.
Soft peaks was a cute spot for ice cream. Prices were 6.75 ish for a small which can be a cone or cup which I found pricey. I ordered the seasonal cookies and cream and got it with the twist (chocolate and vanilla soft serve). It was alright. I will say I prefer the taste of Costco soft serve ice cream and it's a better price.
It's been a while since I've visited Soft Peaks but I couldn't let time go by without trying their Ube specials! The ube ice cream was sooo velvety smooth and had the perfect amount of ube flavour. I loved that it came with ube pudding at the bottom and sago as well. The ube pudding was a little sweet for my liking but Grayson liked them quite a bit. We will be back as the weather gets sunnier!
There's always room for dessert! Honeycomb Peak $7.25 Matcha Milkshake $6.80 Their ice cream is made with organic milk and it was super smooth and creamy, not too sweet. I loved the mixture with the honey drizzle and corn flakes, perfect combination together! The matcha milkshake was very very strong, it can definitely keep you awake. It was creamy and delicious mixed with the cream.
If you haven't been to Soft Peaks, you need to go! The ice cream is so delicious and just tastes so fresh. The different flavours on their menu are super interesting. It's a lovely location that's been set up to feel welcoming and enjoyable as well.

Quick service for a delightful sweet treat! This place serves ice cream with a twist with condensed milk, eggnog or a twist available and multiple flavor profiles to match the mood! I tried the Honeycomb Peak with milk and my partner tried the Mudslide with a twist. We sat in the front and enjoyed the ice cream and different types- even trying each others! Mine was better (; he compared the Tim Tam crumbs to dehydrated cereal- It had a nice crunch! If you're looking for a casual, cute spot for an after dinner treat, you've come to the right spot! read more

Never had an ice cream that I didn't like. Love their soft serve and all the interesting toppings that they offer. There's a classic milk soft serve and another flavor which they can twist together with the classic milk. They seem to feature new flavors every month or so. I think I had seen from their Instagram page that they had an Ube soft serve back in April. Right now we're in early June and the flavor that we got for our twist was a cookie butter soft serve. Not sure how much longer they will have the cookie butter flavor as I had thought that it was supposed to be just for the month of May. So...I guess they don't always change the flavor right at the beginning of each month. They do change the flavors every so often though. I ordered the Green Forest which is supposed to have matcha powder, sweet red beans and condensed milk. They had run out of red beans when I went so they let met choose a different topping to replace the red beans. That actually suited me better anyways as I'm not a big fan of red beans. I chose the Green Forest for the matcha flavor in it, not the red bean! I ended up choose toasted coconut as a replacemenet for the red beans. Yum yum yum! My daughter chose the Brown Sugar Pearls option which came with brown sugar drizzle, and soft, chewy tapioca pearls. Hubby opted for the Mudslide which came with Tim Tam crumbs and chocolate syrup. I think the one thing I'd like to see at this place would be more flavors of soft serve to choose from. Having only two flavors makes things simpler for them I suppose. Happy enough with what they offer since they do have lots of interesting toppings to choose from, but...more flavors of soft serve would be cool to see. Had an appointment in the area and stopped by Soft Peaks during COVID to sample their soft serve ice cream after reading a few reviews. Like many establishments, they have greatly restricted their seating capacity...think there were only 2 tables with total seating for 5 persons. The COVID protective screens were up and I felt comfortable entering the establishment. Opted for the Blackcomb...how can one go wrong with expresso and ice cream. The presentation was quite nice (sorry sampled it before I could take a photo) and it was a very tasting ice cream sundae..nice and creamy. I thought it was pretty good value at $5.75 considering what I would normally pay at Earnest's for a scoop of the hard stuff. It was a positive ice cream experience and happy to recommend Soft Peaks if in the area and wanting soft serve ice cream. read more

Had to try this place after the miss hyped it up, given that they use Avalon milk for their products, you can taste the difference in creaminess compared to some other ice cream places. The matcha milkshake was well blended, rich, and had a very smooth texture with a deep matcha taste. Wasn't overly sweet, but rather just right and it had a good consistency. The honeycomb peak is my usual go-to when I come here, the honeycomb that comes with it is always tasty, and the grains at the bottom of hte cup mixed with the ice cream and honeycomb are such a good combination of flavors and textures. Ice cream is super smooth but doesn't feel to heavy at all, and had a subtle sweetness but not too sweet. RUN, DON'T WALK! I was in Vancouver for 4 days and came here twice. That's how good it was. I'm an ice cream fanatic and have been consistently one since the age of 6 years old, so I'd say it's the thing I'm most experienced in. Gastown tastes like tiramisu, and it is absolutely divine. Ice cream and coffee are my top 2 weakness, and they nailed it in this dessert. I also tried the mango one on its own, which was very refreshing as well! Soft Peaks is known for their soft serve made with local Avalon organic milk. If you're a milk and ice cream lover, you'll definitely enjoy this! It's so creamy and smooth. Everything we had was yummy. The portions for the large size are actually quite big so I recommend sharing with someone if you do get the large so it's not too heavy. I was able to finish mine but I think I would've been satisfied with a small for myself. My personal favourite was the Green Forest. I recommend it if you like matcha! The matcha syrup was rich and had a strong matcha flavour. Their cones are fresh and crispy as well. No stale ice cream cones here! Went to the Kingsway location, there were so many different things I wanted to try but ended up getting the matcha and cereal soft serve. A little on the pricey side but I feel like everything Is expensive now haha. I liked the matcha, and I got with vanilla and chocolate ice cream, but I suggest vanilla since the chocolate was overpowering with the matcha. The cereal was my FAVORITE! It had a giant piece of honey comb on top and it truly tasted like a bowl of cereal in the best way possible, I'm so glad I decided to get this! Will be back to try other items ! read more
How are you dealing with this heatwave? We've been having a lot of ice cream, and of course, this includes ice cream from @softpeaksicecream [ GREEN FOREST ] Loved this! We got the milk flavour as the base, it was topped with sweetened and soft red beans, drizzled with condensed milk and matcha powder. [ SUNRISE IN CALI ] This is one of their new additions to their menu, we got a twist cone, with half mango and half milk flavours. It was topped with a sweet/tangy syrup, with yuzu pulp - which added bitterness. We didn't really like the bitterness from the yuzu, it was quite strong for a light dessert. To give you an idea of the taste, it tasted just like the Korean honey citron tea. Soft Peaks on located on Kingsway and near McKay Ave in Burnaby. This is 2nd location of Soft Peaks. My girl friend loves ice cream and she can eat ice cream all year around. Soft Peaks ice cream features Avalon Dairy BC Certified Organic milk. Being a fan of Avalon's milk, I particularly loved that it is organic. The staff very friendly and patiently wait for our order. We enjoyed the honeycomb twist flavour that rich creamy ice cream. Topped with a piece of local honeycomb. Honeycomb wasn't extremely sweet but it's subtle and complement the soft serve ice cream well. I had cappuccino and coffee art pretty nice too. I have no problem to pay for quality ice cream but just don't wanna gain weight during summer time. read more

Came here to pick up a free ice cream thanks to their offer for front line workers. This is probably our third or fourth time here and we do have to say their soft serve is quite creamy. It is just a little pricy for what you get. read more

The place looks much more spacious and brighter than the one in Gastown. I tried the original ice cream which was very meh. It was creamy but quite bland. It was not sweet at all, probably great for those who always liked to ask for everything to be "less sweet". But when I am having a dessert and treat, I do want it to be sweet, and ice cream falls into a sweet treat category. I guess it will be nicer if you order it with toppings and flavors rather than just plain with cereal. The cereal was hard. At $4.50 for a small (it looked tiny), it was definitely not worth it. I can get better tastier ice cream for that price. read more

Honeycomb Peak (Sm - $6+tax, Reg/cone - $7+tax) is a "local honeycomb with cereal flakes." I got the classic milk and milk chocolate twist ice cream. Gastown (Sm - $6.50+tax, Reg/cone - $7.50+tax) is the "home-made tiramisu toppings." I haven't tried this place before, so I was pretty excited to go for their BOGO promo a few months ago. However, my friend and I were super disappointed. My friend had their ice cream before at Gastown, and she said it was really good. They must have changed something with their ice cream cuz she said it doesn't taste the same as she remembered. Do not get the twist ice cream. You can only taste the milk chocolate, so if anything just get the milk chocolate option instead. Honeycomb was just a hard glob of honey syrup. The honey was delicious, but it was too hard to mix into the ice cream. The corn flakes were at the bottom of the cup. I wasn't able to eat it until the very end. Super disappointed. Nothing special with the ice cream and I couldn't eat the honey and the cereal flakes with the ice cream.... read more
