The Pie Hole is a neat little shop. Pre-ordered & it was ready to go when Si arrived. Bought this Blueberry Cream Crumble for a gathering. Hope it's worth the cost! Cut a slice for my son....tasted a bite. It's flavourful, but not sure I would spend that much on a pie in future. Was worth trying.

I had stumbled into this place by chance because I had just dropped off my friend and her pet's remains at the animal hospital in the same building for cremation. My friend was just in tears, sobbing and angry and I thought to myself, hey maybe a pie would help. Well, it didn't really, but that was to be expected if you had to drop off your dearly departed pet baby to be cremated but at the least after she looked at the pies in the fridge she stopped crying for a minute to ooo and awe and picked a pie. I myself picked the Elvis which was really good! I think it was banana, peanut and chocolate? Whatever it was, the King would have approved! These pies were quite pricey, but the quality made up for it. If I were to go back, I would probably buy a pie by the slice because it is cheaper than buying an individual pie and seems like it is only slightly smaller for about half the price. This place is somewhat hidden as it is at the back of the parking lot in the basement. But at least there is free parking.

Turkey Dinner Pie ($43): Thanksgiving in 9" round!

=== 1. VERDICT/VALUE 4.5 stars: you're not in Walmart land of pies any longer - man, the prices are high but quality doesn't come cheap! If you're looking for a variety of unique flavours in good pies and good service, the only hole you should be going into...is The Pie Hole! === 2. FOOD If you're looking for exotic and standard flavours of pies, The Pie Hole may have what you're looking for - frozen/fresh in 9" size, in a mini (4"?) format, or in a hand pie format (it's like a Stromboli). On this latest visit, we tried: Raspberry Cream Crumble ($32): one of the signature pies - a great dessert - a lot of raspberry with not-too-sweet cream in a thick, flaky crust. Bourbon Pecan Pumpkin Pie ($34): a neat twist on the traditional pumpkin pie with pecan crumble drizzled with bourbon - a nice touch indeed! Chicken Pot Pie ($7.50 hand pie): better than the Costco version - moist, yet just as thick and chunky! Turkey Dinner Pie ($43): like someone wrapped Thanksgiving dinner inside a pie: shredded turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and cranberry sauce all in one - surprisingly good...but bring a little extra gravy/cranberry with you :) === 3. SERVICE The service was great on the phone and in-person. Easy pickup is available for pre-orders (especially during Thanksgiving), and service is good and fast for fresh/frozen pies you order in-person. === 4. ENVIRONMENT It's really a storefront; walk down stairs to the retail level and be met with freezers containing pre-orders and a frozen pie selection, a fridge with mini pies, and a display case of fresh pies. It is spacious, but I would leave the wheelchairs and baby strollers behind given the descent into the retail area. Parking involves a spacious private lot (which is full on holidays).

Bacon cheeseburger hand pie. So good

Still my favorite pie place. Just tried the key lime pie and it was to die for! It was tart but not overly so, with just a tinge of sweetness. Super delicious. For the savory pie, my go to is still the bacon cheeseburger. Just so yummy. Somehow I prefer the hand pie version more than the usual pie. Maybe it takes a shorter time to heat up in the oven so that my tummy can be filled faster? Check the website for the pies available. Ask the staff if you do not see the pie you wanted in the store. It could be in the kitchen area.

If it's a pie, they probably offer it. This past weekend, my wife and daughter wanted pie. So where do you go for pie in the Burnaby-New West area? There's only one answer to that. The Pie Hole. After hmming and hawing over what to get from their vast selection of frozen as well as freshly baked savoury and sweet pies, the family chose a Banana Cream Pie. It looked absolutely delicious. Taking the pie to a new level, they sprinkle banana bread over top which not only looks pleasant but also adds another texture and flavour to the pie. When dessert time came, we busted that box open. My daughter cut the first slice out, albeit crooked and mildly infuriating (LOL), and I could see the luscious filling with lil banana slices in it. I haven't had a banana cream pie in ages and almost forgot what it tasted like. Once I got my piece and broke away a piece of the super flakey crust, I remembered why I don't get banana cream pie. It's really sweet. This is not The Pie Holes fault. The quality of the pie is excellent and it tastes very nice. It might have been the best banana cream pie I've ever had. It's just banana cream pie is sweet and I lost my sweet tooth decades ago. It's been a while since I tried their savoury pies, but I know I enjoyed them. If you're like me, stick to the savoury ones. If you enjoy the sweet pies, you'll find some awesome ones here.

This place smells like heaven. Every pie I've had here tastes amazing. The handpies, sweet and savoury are all fantastic! Try the turkey dinner pie. Amazing!

Simply the best pie I have ever mowed...so moist and chocked full of spritly peaches nestled between a flaky sweet crust similar to shortbread. Lovely staff, superb pie! Put Pie Hole pie in ur face-hole.today!

Their Vegan chocolate hazelnut pie: the filling is amazing the crust not so much. I can't remember the last time I didn't enjoy a dessert crust. Just too lumpy and bumpy bad texture and didn't add anything to compliment the filling. If it was just on filling it would be a five star. I look forward to trying their other vegan options and potentially changing rating. Very excited to find new dessert options in new west/Burnaby area.

Hot chocolate festival feature, pie and cookie display

I attended The Pie Hole today for their hot chocolate festival. I tried both the; milk chocolate banana flavoured, and white chocolate apple pie featured options. Each one was paired with a small pie. The banana chocolate pie was delicious, as was the apple pie. Both were made with care and quality ingredients. The beverages were equally as tasty, and the vendor perfected the flavours. Their staff was helpful, friendly, attentive, and excited for the festival. Ambiance was comfortable and casual given the location. I also purchased their Thai chicken savoury pie to go. Their baked goods selection was hard to resist. A must try for any pie enthusiast.

Omg this pie is delicious! You won't even notice that it is gluten free and vegan. The chocolate mouse inside is creamy, light, and is screaming chocolate goodness in every bite. The crust is nutty and surprisingly doesn't break easily when cutting it into slices. Can't wait to go back!

I was too late to pre-order online so had to make sure I got there at opening yesterday to snatch a pie. Got there about 10 mins prior to opening and there was already a lineup! I was lucky to snatch this amazing Apple Brown Butter Rosemary pie. It was a hit with the family as there were no slices leftover. I was planning on taking a picture of my slice with ice cream but completely forgot cause I was too excited to eat it and I devoured it without thinking. Added bonus: Got 10% off because I was already following @thepiehole on IG! I also decided to grab a Chicken Pot Pie for lunch. My first time trying one of their savoury pies. It was delicious as expected! Packed with great ingredients, and can't get enough of that crust! Will definitely grab the larger size next time.

You'll have to shut your pie hole after having these pies! They will leave you speechless! I recently checked out the Vancouver and Burnaby storefronts and in both occasions, I was welcomed with the glorious whiff of the baked crust goodness. The smell was so intoxicating, I could hardly wait to try them out! Their offerings include hand pies, savoury pies, pies by the slice, and whole pies (fresh and frozen) that you can take home to enjoy with family and friends (or if you want it all to yourself, that works too!). They have traditional pies like good ol' apple and blueberry pies, to super creative ones like a bacon cheeseburger pie (say whaat?) And even vietnamese coffee pie! My partner and I tried out the potato and leek hand pie, and a slice of their blueberry basil and goatcheese pie. A helpful tip: WARM THESE BAD BOYS UP! It makes such a difference and brings back those crisp, flaky textures that great pies have. I have to commend them on their crust: it's just soo good that writing it in words does not do it justice. You'd have to try it out yourself!

Sounds of all the patrons enjoying themselves with banter or working on their laptop whilst enjoying some beverage or food. I ordered the chocolate slice cake, wifey got a berry croissant and we got a tiramisu tart and tiramisu box to go. I ordered a house coffee just for something to drink with the cake and wifey also got a mocha. The cake was very good, not super sweet(for regular person) I'm diabetic so this was probably a bit much for me but I wanted to try. The butter cream in between each layer of chocolate sponge cake was smooth. The chocolate ganache was shiny and soft. I personally like more cake in general but this is a solid cake if you like butter cream and chocolate!. Wifeys croissant was full of cream on top and in the middle. Very soft and good for whipped cream lovers. The berries were large and sweet. Baked goods on terms from the ones we partook in were very good. The pastries are delicious and crafted so beautifully. I came here for hot chocolate festival and the flavours were spot on. A tad sweet but it's hot chocolate. Sadly, the sticky rice texture mixed with croissant was not the best. The service here is great. Staff are friendly. The only downside to this store is the way their line up system works. The menu has shrunk considerably and their business days/hours are also a lot less than what it was previously. The drinks were not as tasty as they used to be. My Blue Rose drink was the best of the bunch and I would say even that was just OK. I enjoyed the Lychee jelly in my drink. That was probably the best part of the drink. The liquid part was kinda "meh" for me. I think the best thing we ordered was the matcha soft serve ice cream. On the flip side, there was a guy playing piano there and they were taking requests. I suggested Demon Slayer and the guy played the famous "Gurenge" song by Lisa from season one of Demon Slayer. That was kinda cool. He was a very good pianist. Great way to liven the atmosphere. Also, there was a guy who came around and gave us all tiny paper cranes. It's nothing much, but still always nice to be gifted with anything at all. Business must be hard for them. It would sure be nice to see them return to how they used to be, with a bigger menu, tastier drinks and more days/hours again. We love this place for the manga/ anime vibes that it exudes, and love the Matcha soft serve ice cream they sell here. Really wanna give this place a higher rating but the drinks were really not up to par this time, and as much as we love the Matcha ice cream, it is not by itself enough to warrant giving out a higher rating. If they could just improve the quality of their drinks again...then even if they menu remains limited, at least if everything they serve is of good quality...that would be enough to merit a higher rating.

My cousin recently had Cory from HEY! CAKE THIS! Make a cake for her and below is what she said:…read more YEY!!! I found my forever cake designer and maker for all my family celebrations! I wasn't going to write any reviews because I just don't want to spend time doing it. But when I showed pictures of the cake Cory created for my daughter to my family and friends, I knew I had to write one. I was also reminded by my cousin and sisters about that rip off cake I received last year for my son. The cake we all called the Photocopy cake ( see review for Yummy Yonnie Cakes) But first, let me tell you about CORY'S cakes from HEY CAKE THIS! Cory does not limit the style, colour, theme, flavour, filling or size of the cake. He gives his clients free range. But keep in mind, price will obviously go up the more elaborate your imagination. If you can imagine it. He will create it! I reached out to Cory to get an idea of how much a Poppy cake would be and I even sent a picture I found online to him for reference. I told him to put many flowers and make the cake pink. I wanted strawberry filling, with fresh strawberries and a vanilla cake. Boy did he deliver! The cake I received exceeded my expectations. Everything on that cake was fondant. He cut out all the flowers, the letterings, the number, AND the star of the cake.... POPPY! He made a 2D Poppy! Nothing on that cake was a photocopy image stuck onto sugar paper. Look carefully at Poppy. Her dress, the eyes and mouth. So much details. Cory handprinted some of the details on her too. I commented on his Poppy and how I appreciated him not doing a photocopy image. He told me if the image is not complex he will do all it all freehand. I only gave I'm a week and a half for this cake too! Due to the pandemic, Cory offered free delivery. He wanted to make sure his cake was in the best condition for his clients. Cory is also very considerate. When he arrived, he actually took out a fold up table to place his cake on. He did not want to put the cake on the floor or ground where it could pick up germs. After he put it on the table, he stepped back (social distancing) so that I could take it. The box the cake came in was GOLD with a pink ribbon to complete the look. Did you know he actually MAKES all his boxes the cakes go into? No cheap see through cellophane. But a nice gold colour cardstock box. This is better because if the cake was to be a surprise , the box will definitely keep the cake hidden. My kids recycled the box and make gold cut out starts and crowns for their dolls. Cory is definitely a master cake creator. He will not disappoint. The communication between him and I for the cake was awesome. Before he went ahead with anything he was unsure of, he reached out to me. He wanted to make sure his suggestions was something I would also like. Vancouver is fortunate to have their own 'Duff Goldman'. I regret not having found him sooner to make my cakes. The Photocopy cake was an expensive lesson. Don't go to a place that limits you or brush your feedback off. GO TO CORY from HEY CAKE THIS! You won't be disappointed! I look forward to my two other cakes in the next few weeks! I will post it here as well for everyone to see. His work speaks for itself. All his reviews are excellent. Nothing less than 5 stars. I wish I can give him 10 stars!
