Just had the green tea bingsu to share between the two of us for post anniversary dinner dessert.. was nice to have a lighter sweet treat on such a warm summer night.. the place smells so bad - like a cross between a well ripened durian and a bad mold problem... I didn't see durian on the menu so I assume the smell is related to the latter.. service was not good.. the counter person was borderline rude .. bingsoo was good.. the shaved milk was light and fluffy but not milky or creamy like in Korea.. the red bean rice cake topping was the pre-packaged, shelf stable kind of rice cake - not a fan.. we still finished it lol

I am a huge Matcha lover, but neither of these desserts satisfied my Matcha craving-- I'd say it's quite hard to mess up on both. The highlight of both desserts were the ice cream scoops that it came with. Otherwise, I'd say the shaved ice and toast were pretty much Matcha-less in terms of the taste. There was an overwhelming amount sweetness from other ingredients, but it just more or less lacked the taste of matcha. If you like your food sweeter, I think you'd enjoy this. For the price that was paid, I'd expect a little bit more from the portion sizes-- it's a little on the higher side compare to some other bingsoo places. If you are looking for a late night spot to hang with your friend, this is the place to be! I find myself craving bingsoo often and Sulbing would be one of the few opened late night. There is a decent amount of tables/chairs, and it's always busy when I go. Tables are usually a little l sticky, and I'd wipe it myself. But they will gladly wipe for you if you ask them to. Overall, service isn't bad, but it's not excelling. It's not usually my first choice for bingsoo, but I come here when other places are closed.

Half eaten mango bingsoo and tayaki toast. So yummy!

We have been looking for a close-to-home bingsoo source since Snowy Village closed in Coquitlam, so finding this one is both a joy and a relief. The room is a bit too loud, but there are plenty of tables, and this is clearly a popular spot with the K-Pop fans and families of all ages. Creative and simple, beautiful decor... very Korean. And bingsoo! We had the mango, just as it comes ... which is a LOT to share for 2. We also ordered the tayaki toast, which is teeny (excellent crispy toast to filling ratio) but you get 6, and it is served with a big blob of real whipped cream, sprinkled with oreo crumbs. And odd scent of durian made us speculate about something hidden on the menu, or someone's lunch stored in the same freezer... The vanilla ice cream is served a bit too cold to eat as the frozen milk shaving is melting, and thr shaving is a bit too sweet and rich to need the side of "cream." Cheerful, fast service, and a helpful serve-yourself menu / pay stand. They do not take cash.

    Premium strawberry bing soo.

I'm a plaza with convenient parking. The place was spacious and bright. Free wi-fi. We came here two days in a row. The first night we ordered at 11:30 pm and a mad rush of people came in to order last minute on a Friday night. We got our order at 11:45 pm and was politely told they need to clear the plates by 11:55 pm. My friend and I felt pressured to scoff down the bing app with an attempt to not get brain freeze. We ordered the strawberry and there was red bean in the bottom of the bing soo. Nevertheless, we can back the next day and ordered the premium strawberry. This was nicely dawned with a towering piece of cheesecake. The bing soo was nice and fluffy that kept its consistency without melting too quickly. Strawberries were fresh and sweet, not too overly soaked in syrup.

Recently after Covid-19, i have seen many new Korean desert shops n cafes and this one is students hot spot. Opened till late hours, this cafe has enough seating to accommodate 15-20 people and most of the order is taken out / delivery. They have special packing to avoid ice-cream melt. Very good , colourful and flavourful types of shaved ice-cream is available along with waffles. There are drinks as well but i ordered mango ice cream waffle. Omg... amazing

Injeolmi on top and Oreo chocolate on the bottom!

Checked out this bingsoo cafe located on North Road. The cafe is spacious, but music is a bit loud. Ordered the Oreo chocolate bingsoo and the injeolmi bingsoo. Both came out relatively quickly and presentation was well put together. The injeolmi was fresh and they layered it so you aren't left with just shaved ice. Knocked off a star bec they probably could have put more injeolmi on it. The Oreo chocolate was well done and delicious as well. Must try dessert place!

We'd spotted Sulbing Cafe on our walk over to dinner. My buddy J has never had bingsu before so of course we went for his sake. They apparently have over 500 franchise stores around the world. This branch is located next door to Busan Daeji Gukbap Korean Restaurant. We dropped in on a Thursday evening (around 9:00pm) and it was still half full. Hilarious that they have instructions on the wall on how to eat bingsu properly. They give you a buzzer and ring you when your order is ready. The menu is split into shaved ice bingsu (15 options), dessert, waffles, winter comfort food and drinks. Of course, they have plastic models of their bingsu flavours. - Green tea (#5) ($12.95) - we tried out their green tea bingsu which came with two scoops of ice cream, whipped cream, red bean mochi and a side of condensed milk. The only thing that saved this from being disastrous was the ice cream. Creamy and good green tea flavour. The texture of the shaved ice itself was awful; clumpy, bland and shockingly flavourless. There are so many better options for bingsu. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Great place for good late night desserts. There are quite a few tables for seating. The variety of the menu is quite good, with fruit, chocolate, and other dessert bingsoo available. The portion sizes are good for 2-4 people. The last time I went there I got the chocolate bingsoo and the injeolmi mochi ice cream. The ice cream ended up being the star of the night- it was delicious, creamy and went with the mochi underneath so well. This place is one of the better dessert places open late night in Coquitlam, and thus remains a staple hangout spot.

I hold an expectation that it is going to be like slushy & overly sweet with syrup. But this place totally change my perspective and I can't help myself and taking bites after bites. I love the strawberry one because it surprises you with red beans at the bottom. The shaved ice is well flavoured which accompany each bowl very well.

Sulbing Café is a dessert cafe chain based in South Korea. It serves mainly various flavors of bingsu/bingsoo/patbbingsu , -氷水. This location is at 202a-4501 North Road, Burnaby BC. Brownie shaved ice and chocolate bread
    Shazia N.

This cafe is in a great location. Nice decor and a great ambiance. The shaved ice is very ordinary. There is nothing too special about it. I've tried the brownie flavoured one twice now and I would say is good for what it is. I also tried the chocolate bread and I have to say this one was super disappointing. It was just two slices of regular bread slapped together with some chocolate sauce and some nuts sprinkles on top (waste of money). The place also claims to close at midnight (12am) we were asked to leave at 11:47pm in a fairly rude manner. I have not been to a place where customers are asked to leave before the given closing time. They wanted to clean up and have the cafe close by 12am. I was really disappointed by this because we would have gladly left at 12am. The y should have informed us in advance so we could have gone elsewhere. Very selfish thing to do for a business. We will not be returning to this place for shaved ice or anything for that matter. I hope you have a better experience if you do visit. :(

Sulbing is a popular South Korean dessert chain. This is their first location in Canada. They specialize in their own version of bingsu (Korean shaved ice). After a few visits, I have to say Sulbing is now one of my favorite bingsu places that I've tried so far (other favorites are in LA). I prefer the flavour/texture of the bingsu here compared to many local competitors. To the ladies out there, bingsu is mainly composed of water + other liquids. We all know you can eat a whole one yourself! *Please* let us guys have our own bingsu! When we're with you, we have to share our bingsu. Otherwise, if we don't, it makes us look like jerks. But trust me, we secretly want an entire bingsu all to ourselves (we just can't say it in front of you)! So far at Sulbing, I've had injeolmi (rice cake), green tea, strawberry, and chocolate brownie bingsu ... all shared.  *sob*  T_T I need to make a solo trip or do a boys' night out to Sulbing so I can finally have a bingsu (or two) all to myself... If you think I'm being serious, I'm really not. I'm totally kidding! Bingsu is perfect for sharing!! But I'd be lying if I said it never crossed my mind to eat a few myself ... the bingsu here is that good!

I usually get the flavored taiyaki here. Compared to traditional taiyaki, Little Pisces ones are chewier, sort of like fried mochi. The fillings are all very good and they're freshly made. They have a 5-piece combo deal where it comrs out to just a little over $3 per taiyaki. The supermarket right below sells 3 taiyakis (that are very good) for about $5 though, so Little Pisces is a bit expensive comparatively. The ice cream come with a taiyaki on top and is super cute. There's usually quite a long line to order and to get the food. Sometimes the line is out the door. Even after ordering, they give you a little buzzer thing that buzzes when your order is ready. This can take quite a long time if there's alot of people. While there is seating, it is limited and people tend to stay awhile, so don't depend on being able to eat inside. In the winter it kind of sucks as you have to exit to eat. I also came here for their hot chocolate festival drinks. The lines were insanely long. The hot chocolate was $12 each and not very big. While the flavors were unique, they weren't very good overall and took forever to wait for.
