Vanilla ice with mango and grass jelly
    Rosalyn L.

**Please beware of anything containing sesame here if you have a nut allergy!** Great spot for late night hang outs and if you're craving something sweet but semi-healthy. We ordered the vanilla ice with mango and grass jelly and sesame soup with sesame rice balls. We asked if there were any nuts in either of the desserts and were told no, so we ordered them. However upon my friend trying the sesame soup, it did cause a mild allergic reaction. Thankfully he only had a small taste so it wasn't too serious, and the vanilla shaved ice was fine for him. The desserts were pretty standard in comparison to other chinese dessert spots, but I do like that they use fresh mangoes. My favourite part was the sesame rice balls, next time I'll order them again in ginger soup rather than sesame (the sesame flavour gets to be a bit too much after a while). Other than that one negative experience, I could see myself coming back here to try their other mango desserts.

I think once upon a time this place was actually busy every day. Looks like the hype has died down and probably won't be coming back anytime soon. There are more and more dessert places that opened in the area and competition is very tough for Sweet Honey Dessert. I am guessing on the weekend, it is probably not that bad but on weekdays, it was pretty dead when I went. Please note that if your order is less than $50, they only accept cash or debit. This is kind of annoying. I guess I won't be coming back since I rarely carry cash. Their desserts are nothing special and this goes with their drinks as well. I came here with a friend and I ordered the mango pomelo sago drink $8.95 which was basically the pudding dessert poured into a cup and served as a drink. Interesting. Was it good? Well it was average. It was nothing special. Upon the second time coming here, I ordered the durian milk slush $8.95. I can taste the durian but it was very subtle. I wish there were more durian flavor in there. It was a bit bland. I did appreciate that they used fresh fruits and it does make a difference. The fruits were fresh and tasty. This place is famous for the real look a like puppy dessert. I didn't order it but it would definitely be a good picture taking / Instagram gimmick. Free parking is available after a certain time in Burnaby. Service was good. If you have never been here than it is definitely worth a visit but remember to bring cash.

Great place especially when not crowded. Mango sago pomelo dessert was spot on. Tons of mango chunks and the tofu was really smooth. Also got the black sesame soup with sesame balls and it hit the spot. Perfectly hot and smooth for a cold rainy day. They have a great selection too.

Not the vibes, the food was very mediocre and very very expensive! For $24 I got only two small items! Waitress was also very negligent :(

I've been craving Hong Kong dessert for a while now and decided to try out Sweethoney Dessert. There are a few sweethoney dessert locations in Vancouver but we went to the one on Lougheed. The cafe is not open for dine-in at the moment so we had our order to-go. Sweethoney dessert offers a variety of slush drinks, hot tea drinks, coconut milk base drinks and cream foam drinks. There is a large variety oIn addition to their sweet drinks and desserts, they also have snacks. Their snacks include takoyaki, chicken wings, chicken karage, shumai, curry fishballs, popcorn chicken, calamari, sausage and fries. All perfect for a late night snack.f them and each one sounds like a dessert in a cup! The desserts here are pretty simple with either a mango or coconut base and lots of toppings on top. I was excited to try the purple rice and coconut pudding but I was disappointed. The pudding had a hard texture to it as though it had too much gelatin. It was not soft or creamy even though it had a coconut milk base. The forbidden rice at the bottom was hard almost as though they were not cooked through. Overall the texture of this dessert was off and I couldn't have more than one bite. Needless to say, it was disappointing especially since it was $7!!!

We came on a Saturday night and it was pretty empty inside. We were the only table for a good 20 minutes. We ordered the coconut with milk pudding ($12.95), mango pomelo sago ($8.95) and mango taro ($8.95). The coconut with milk pudding was a total miss. There was barely any coconut flavour. The milk pudding for some reason tasted like egg. It has a lot of layers inside and is quite big but definitely not worth $12.95. The mango pomelo sago and the mango taro were pretty similar as it's the same base just with different toppings. The mango base was actually quite fragrant and had a lot of mango flavour. It wasn't overly sweet. There were also chunks of mango. The mango taro with the taro mochi balls was not as good as the mango pomelo sago as the taro mochi balls didn't really taste like taro. It tasted more like I was chewing on flour... Anyways, they have a really extensive menu so there's bound to be something you like on the menu. I would recommend it for groups as the space is nice and big but as for the desserts it's mediocre. Tip: free street parking after 9PM

First time at Sweethoney and I'm truly impressed with both the friendliness of the staff and the taste of their desserts. We ordered a nice selection from their diverse menu to share. My favorite was the class HK dessert, the mango & pomelo sago. I haven't had such a CLASSIC one in such a long time, even though almost every dessert place serves this. This was loaded with mango purée, a few chunks of mango, and an abundance of sago cooked to perfection. I liked that it wasn't watered down with shaved ice or anything like that. This is one I'd buy again and again if I lived any closer! Another fan favorite was the mango sticky rice. I didn't expect to like this as much as a dessert because it's basically just rice and carbs. I'd like to say the most addicting part was the sweetened coconut syrup that REALLY made this dish delicious. The staff at Sweethoney was so kind to advise me of the reheating method because I told her I might not be consuming this right away. Other items ordered: #V6 (Grass jelly & matcha ice cream with vanilla frost) I originally thought this is just toppings over plain shaved ice, surprisingly not! It's actually served over shaved, sweetened MILK ICE! Regular cheesecake from the cooler; pretty basic item, not sure if it's made in house or not, but was very smooth and rich. Slightly on the sweeter side. Milk tea with peach resin; this one is from their special / seasonal menu (?) posted on the window of the store. Again, the staff was so attentive to reduce ice in the drink knowing that I won't be home anytime soon. The milk tea is the HK type, where the tea and milk content is significantly higher than sugar content. I personally would've preferred a sweeter milk tea base but enjoyed the drink regardless. I was truly surprised by how enjoyable the peach resin was in the drink. Peach resin tastes is bland in flavour, texture is slightly rough / slightly slimy, and actually, consumed like aloe in a drink. Overall, I really enjoyed all the dessert options Sweethoney delivers. Would definitely come again when in the neighborhood.

Looks like the Royal Oak area now has a (sexy) explosion of all these dessert places. Still remember when the only thing worth checking out in this area was the Legion. So many new lowrises too. Parking is available for free after 2000 on Grimmer. Works really well when going for dessert. The place looks a bit empty in terms of decor, but is modern. Staff were friendly. The claim to fame here is their ice cream shaped puppy, I mean puppy shaped ice cream. Actually pretty impressive how they make these things. The thing looks big in the photo but is actually only about the size of maybe 3 credit cards. Didn't know amputated puppy paws tasted chocolatey. I also had the mango puree with coconut milk and grass jelly. Tastes exactly as described. There were some mango chunks mixed in as well, which is a nice touch. Not the cheapest dessert, but was quite tasty and refreshing. Definitely will be back at some point. Now to try the other 20 dessert shops in the vicinity. Recommended.

We came in to try the Puppy cake We were surprised to see all the selections Chinese dessert, and souffle pancake The souffle pancake takes 20min so you should order it right away The Puppy Cake $12.95 was a frozen chocolate cake molded like a puppy, about 9inches long and 4 inches, good to share for 3-4 ppl. This tastes best when it is thawed for about 5-10min. This a great time to take pictures for Yelp and Instagram The Pomelo mango dessert was nothing special. It was just mango puree, sago and few pieces of grapefruit The mango pancake $8.95 was made with fresh mango, whipped cream and wrapped in a thin layer of crepe. The crepe was thin and it's good for those who don't want a super sweet dessert We mentioned to the staff we are sharing desserts but they just dropped off the desserts and we had to ask for extra spoons, forks and bowls, napkins.

Desserts Time!! Craving for sweet food but not overly sweetened dessert, Cantonese style dessert shops are the best options @sweethoneydessert_van has launched their new item They look so cute and I know I have to try them. Personally, I ranked the classic papaya grass jelly the best. Papaya is just ripe and it's sweetness was just so refreshing. The coconut pudding has a lot of layers and also tastes Quality and taste are above what I expected. (Except for the Mango and Durian pancake, I am not a big fan of their crepes. They are a bit mushy....) 8/10 Sweethoney Dessert

We stopped by Sweethoney Dessert for some treats and ended up getting their mango pancake x2 and mango sago jelly drink. As you can tell, we were craving mango. I was so impressed with the mango pancake as it it definitely not a pancake but more like a mango dessert. It was light and creamy and not "heavy" at all. Maybe we had a bit too much mango but the mango drink was also delicious with a good mix with the sago and jelly. Maybe just don't get two mango things both at once. Would recommend!

Great selection of foods, unique desserts from Asia, and authentic fruits for recipies. However I would recommend this area to find some sort of bug trap for the corner table. It's a bit concerning they didn't see this as an issue. But overall I would overlook that sanitary issue and say that experience is only reserved to the corner table close to the fruits. Also I would avoid ordering the dog ice cream unless you want a photo of it yourself, a bit overpriced for how it tastes.

If you're in Burnaby and you're craving Hong Kong style desserts head over to Sweethoney Dessert! Their menu is extensive and covers so many different dessert options that I'm sure you'll find something you would like. The new location is spacious and near Royal Oak Station making it convenient to get to. If you've been on the hunt for Soufflé pancakes, Sweet Honey is one of the few places that has super fluffy soufflé pancakes. I highly recommend the MANGO SOUFFLÉ PANCAKE as the mango sauce was so creamy and mangoey with the airy pancakes and the fresh mangoes on the side topped it off. Be sure to order the Soufflé pancakes earlier before you order the other desserts, as they do take 10-15 minutes to wait. Another recommendation is the DURIAN MATCHA ICY ! The durian and matcha flavour combo went well together and I loved the fresh strawberries. I wanna come back to try the mango sago pomelo dessert! Perfect place when you want a huge variety for dessert choices.

They have a 5-piece combo deal where it comrs out to just a little over $3 per taiyaki. The supermarket right below sells 3 taiyakis (that are very good) for about $5 though, so Little Pisces is a bit expensive comparatively. The ice cream come with a taiyaki on top and is super cute. There's usually quite a long line to order and to get the food. Sometimes the line is out the door. Even after ordering, they give you a little buzzer thing that buzzes when your order is ready. This can take quite a long time if there's alot of people. While there is seating, it is limited and people tend to stay awhile, so don't depend on being able to eat inside. In the winter it kind of sucks as you have to exit to eat. I also came here for their hot chocolate festival drinks. The lines were insanely long. The hot chocolate was $12 each and not very big. While the flavors were unique, they weren't very good overall and took forever to wait for.
