I have visited this place plenty of times and service has always been quick and efficient. The team members are happy to make suggestions - and are good with describing there offerings. They normally have some classic Hong Kong (Cantonese music) playing - but there have been times, where they'd be rocking out to KPOP. I love the tofu pudding and black sesame here - the mango desserts are also very delicious -

I love the decor in this place. So many cute little things, cool neon lights, and a huge mahjong tile wall. I ordered a Ribena slush, but it wasn't very good. It had a really strange aftertaste and the initial taste also wasn't giving. I don't think I would order a drink from here again. But I had a small sip of my friend's taro dessert, which was really good. I'd definitely like to comeback to try their other sweet soup desserts! Service was fine. They have a lot of fine print though.. More than $6 per person for dine in and you're not allowed to split bills.

First time checking out Snackshot Kingsway but have been to their original location on Granville. It's across the street from Peachy Peachy. We dropped in on a Friday evening (9:30pm). No wait for a table. Not much in terms of service. There's a minimum charge of $6.00/person. - Grass jelly sago in coconut milk (J3) ($8.95) - grass jelly had a chewy texture with slightly herbaceous note. - Mango grapefruit sago (J5) ($9.50) - standard. - Ube sago in coconut milk (J8) ($9.50) - added grass jelly ($1.50) and homemade taro balls ($2.50). Had a couple spoonfuls; plain. Decent HK desserts but pricier than other spots in the area. Doesn't beat Fresh Legend.

Stopped by quite late at night, and it was quite crowded at about 9-10 p.m. I was only on the mood for savory food so I got the chicken balls, but it was much smaller than expected. The picture on the menu is a bit misleading because of the angle. It's not worth the price of $9.95, same goes for the shrimp balls. However, the snack combo is more worth it. The curry and peanut sauce are great and you get ricerolls, siumai and fishballs for $11.95. Overall, I don't feel as satisfied but this place is better known for their sweet desserts. I'll try the peach gum next time...

Decent but overpriced HK style dessert shop on Kingsway. Parking is available on Kingsway, as well as the side streets. The inside is supposed to remind people of old school Asian neon signs. They do a half decent job of it. The new signs are lit by LEDs though. Staff are friendly but a bit slow. Had to wave them down a few times. As mentioned before, the pricing is a few bucks more than the competition. The mango slushie I had was pretty decen though. I didn't try the other stuff (red bean, peanut etc.) so can't really comment. If the HK stuff is what one is looking for, this is the place to be. For the Taiwanese style stuff, to be honest there are plenty of similar places along the same stretch of Kingsway.

Came on a quiet night and had a good time at snackshot with friends. Got the tofu pudding again and it was solid. The ginger syrup is quite nice!

I had expectations coming here because I had heard so much about it! The ambiance here is definitely 5/5 and it feels like you're transported into a dessert shop in Asia. The downside is that the service was very very slow (granted all the tables were seated that night). When you sit down you order your food through their site and the order gets sent to the kitchen. We didn't hear anything from our server inbetween and had to check in on our order after it not coming for 20 minutes. Then the tofu pudding came but was missing the syrup it was supposed to come with and it wasn't for another 20 minutes until the glutinous rice dessert came. I requested it cold but that wasn't available either so it came hot. Overall ambiance was good, food was ok and service was lacking.

Came here for some Chinese desserts. I got the redbean vitasoy drink with vanilla ice cream. I thought the vanilla ice cream would be on top of the drink. Unfortunately it was on the side. I also tried their fish balls. The redbean vitasoy drink was tasty. The price was definitely not cheap given the drink and a scoop of ice cream before tax $10.75. The fish balls were ok. The decor of the place was very interesting. They tried to comeoff as an old Chinese authentic style hang out place. The place is definitely Instagram worthy. The biggest con that I have about this place is that it is very loud and seating are very limited. If you are here with a friend trying to have a nice conversation, this may be very difficult. They have another location on Granville street. The Kingsway location is way smaller than the Granville location.

Super friendly and attentive staff and owner. Cute decor and chill vibe. Cool for dates or by yourself and family friendly as well. Not the biggest place but quite a few tables, but it does get busy fast. Take outs available. Street parkings and bus at walkable distance. Lots of options from sweet desserts (cold/hot), drinks, to savoury appetizers/small bites. Clean space and washroom available. Tasty food and really fun night!

Plenty of seating and each table is separated with a plexiglass. It wasn't busy when we stopped by for dessert. The tables have a QR code to scan to put in your order. We decided on the dessert platter, which had a variety of desserts. There was cashew paste, green bean soup, almond paste, black sesame paste, tofu pudding, red bean soup, peanut mochi, black rice, and walnut paste. This is definitely something to share with probably 3 people. My favourites were the almond, black sesame, and peanut mochi. The tofu pudding was quite bland. I wish it had a ginger syrup served with it. It also felt a bit too repetitive with so many nut pastes. It was good that some desserts were sweet, while others were less. Overall, the decor is cool but the dessert was just alright.

Due to COVID? they are serving everything in takeout containers which was a bit strange. You can order through an app by scanning a QR code. They have quite a variety of desserts like tofu pudding and mango pomelo sago etc. I tried an ube sago with taro balls and ube ice cream. I remember their portions were a bit bigger before at the Granville St. location when they were serving them in actual bowls? Otherwise the taste was good. Everyone else enjoyed their desserts too and it was a nice place to chill at night.

    Vitasoy w/ red bean slush

Wow. The aesthetics in this shop are next level. Everything from the decor down to the food itself. Snackshot focuses on Hong Kong style desserts and it delivers both in terms of looks and taste. Its hip and trendy looks don't detract from the authenticity of the items served, but you'll certainly be paying for the novelty factor as prices are high for these kinds of dessert. The vitasoy and red bean slush combines two classic HK drinks into one super refreshing concoction. You can customize the sweetness level, but I recommend normal sweetness since the soy milk itself is only lightly sweetened. I liked the inverted bottle as the soy milk evenly dispersed into the drink as you drank. The mahjong tiles were good and had a nice coconut flavor paired with subdued notes of red bean, but let's be real, you're getting it for the gram. And for that it's worth the splurge, but there are better choices for the belly.

Eggs with Two Meats I happened to choose two sunny side up eggs with two pieces of spam; it comes one piece of hash brown, fried beans, and a piece of toast with a little butter. Soup and Noodles The quantity noodles is pretty sizeable for $3.75 price; the soup reasonable too. The pork and preserved vegetable and fish ball soups worked well for breakfast. Drinks #1.25 for warm drinks and $1.75 for cold drinks - good deal and customizable! === 3. SERVICE It was good overall; it can seem slow because they place is always packed with guests waiting for tables, but the service is good in Cantonese or English. === 4. Today I came and saw a special menu and at the top of it an oil chicken special. For $16 you get full meal, soup plus drink (I got HK milk tea - 奶茶) which is a terrific deal. It comes with two marinated eggs - delish - and the chicken and rice both have great flavour. I also love the soup which is simple Cantonese style with a spare rib bone in it. Would definitely come here again. Next time I'm having the HK breakfast which I miss!

It was well portioned for the price ($17) and had that 'wok hay' that's missing in so many Cantonese restaurants. My milk tea was good but it's nowhere near as strong as Lido's milk tea flavour. My takeout was approximately 4 portions of noodles (for 1 person). I took this to go and ate it at home and it was still really good. Noodles were cooked to perfection as they weren't soggy for the following meals I had. Beware they only take cash or debit card (if over $15).

Parking is available but limited in the lot in front. Better to look along Kingsway, or in the side streets behind the restaurant. I found it hilarious that the lot specifically prohibits parking for Tina Cake next door. Guess that must've been a problem over the years. The inside is plain and quite dated (old school). Looks like something out of the 1980s. Awesome. Staff are friendly and helpful. No complaints. Everything hit the spot in terms of authentic Cantonese. I had the stir fried beef with black pepper sauce, Hainan style chicken, and sweet and sour pork. Everything tasted great. Portion sizes are decent, and prices are quite reasonable. This place has been decent in the past and consistently put out large portions of food at reasonable prices. I don't believe anything is outstanding, but always an overall enjoyable meal. Service is relatively friendly too. On a recent night, the most memorable dish had to be the Bean Sprouts w/ Salted Fish, which was full of umami and went well with a bowl of white rice. The Steamed Oysters w/ Garlic Sauce, Beef Chow Fun, and Seafood Chow Mein were all solid. However, the Dry Scallop Fish Maw Soup was bland, and the Goose Casserole w/ Taro was a major disappointment. Reminder to self, I originally wanted to order Tofu Skin in Dry Scallop Sauce, but was convinced otherwise. The recommended dish had snow pea leaves that were a bit tough, though the supreme broth and tofu skin that came with it were yummy. Next time, I want to try my initial selection. Also, don't forget that cheap late night eats is something I should come back for.
