Cute Asian cafe that serves different drinks and dessert! Very pretty inside and has a middle range of seating. We opted for the mango shaved ice which is a good portion to share between two people. It's loaded with lots of mango and mango syrup. I wouldn't mind the ice being a bit more shaved. Also got the red date, longan and brown sugar tea which came in a huge mug. It was very cozy to drink. After dinner as we drove by Richmond, my husband ask for Mango dessert, and we came by this place. Along with our son, we ordered a few to try. The mango coconut sago ain't what he expected as there is really coconut meat on it which is nice but the dish is a bit lack of flavour. My son ordered the sponge cake with the rice ball. And they all wanted to breakout and try the pork floss dessert. I personally love it very much as it satisfy all taste buds both savoury and sweet. My son loved it and said that's the best thing in the world but my husband had a small bit and pulled a face. As we got there quite early, it was nice and quiet. The server can speak excellent English which was very helpful and she explained the type of dessert to my husband and son as well. read more

This past weekend Grayson and I went to the beautiful Azure Play Cafe! A special cafe where the owner, Ivan combines his love of baking with his love of parenting. Azure Play Cafe is place where parents can hang out with each other WHILE their little ones play in the children area. This cafe is meant to be a space for all ages. They do this by integrating a play space into the cafe and offering S.T.E.M. and cooking workshops for kids! This allows parents to come to the cafe without having to worry about their children getting bored during their stay. Azure Play Cafe put a lot of time and energy into their cafe menu design because they really wanted it to reflect the cafe's theme. They designed it to look like a magazine to make it unique and match the relaxing atmosphere of the cafe. It's really worth the look because all the photos in it are incredible! If you prefer to look at all their menu items at once, they have a list menu on their front door. They offer a variety of items including fruit salads, sweet soup, jiggly pancakes, waffles, shaved ice and vitamin C fruit drinks! While Grayson and I visited, we were told that their Super Vitamin C drinks and homemade cakes are one of their features. The owner and his wife went on a soul-searching trip to China and on this trip they discovered how to make these items under trained professionals. This allowed them to learn about how to combine ingredients to make the perfect creation. If you're down on Vitamin C, the super orange vitamin c drink is for you! This was similar to an orange juice in that it had a bright and refreshing taste but had the lightness of the tea infused. We were surprised as to how much it tasted like fresh orange juice because we didn't expect it to be like this at all! read more

It was such good timing with the opening of this spot because we were wanting some fluffy jiggly pancakes and found out that there was going to be a spot opening up in Richmond. The only other time that I've had a souffle pancake was at Milk Cow so it's not a very high standard of comparison but this I'd say overall the two are pretty similar and milk cow might actually be a little better since we got the matcha but other than the matcha cream, there wasn't much to the dish than a few strawberries. Was a little disappointed by the matcha since it came out very bright and there was barely hints of matcha. I love their space here though and a couple came into the store while we were there asking for coffee/tea on their menu but the employee said they didn't sell it here; so it's not a space where you can order an inexpensive drink and play catchup the whole night but you'll have to get something from their menu that's printed out in a magazine style. I was in awe at how nice their menu looked. Definitely the best menu I've seen by far. It's very much what one would idealize when they think of aesthetic cafes but unfortunately, the looks need to equate to the food too and the souffle pancake we got was slightly undercooked. When we cut into the pancake, the top and the bottom separated and didn't hold it's shape. Overall, they do have a vast menu and I am interested in coming back to try the other componenets but perhaps not the souffle pancake. read more

February, 2020 I had been there a lot of times, since they opened. They are getting busy now... I had tried their.. Chinese date longan hot tea... it's good for your throat, warm up your body on freezing cold days. Worth to wait for 15 minutes. Mango sago drinks with coconut milk... their portion, quality and ingredients are different, everytime you order?! Mixed berries lychee drinks... different people made it differently?! Thank you for having us! * We tried a variety of items here at azure. We had their soufflé jiggly pancakes in their matcha strawberry flavour ($12.95) strawberry and cream omelette cake ($3.75),super grapefruit drink (6.95) and their hot purple Thai rice with sesame ($7.95). * The matcha strawberry soufflé pancakes were super jiggly soft and delicious. Their matcha sauce was super thick and tasted amazing with their fresh strawberries! Presentation and taste was awesome! Worth the 20 minute wait. * Apart from that their strawberry and cream omelet cake was dense, and sweet. Their sweet cream was thick, and tasted good. It wasn't too heavy which was a good thing! * Their super grapefruit was super fresh! A lot of grapefruits inside so it was a bit strong but if you love grapefruits and the freshness go for it! You won't regret! (A bit sweet and sour from the grapefruit but overall super refreshing!) * And last but certainly not the least, the purple rice and sesame was an interesting taste. Very average and nothing to write home about. We got the matcha and earl grey souffle pancakes. They were alright, but the sauces looked kind of artificial to me. What really stood out to me what the openness and brightness of the store. I'm still trying to figure out the overall design (maybe nature and plants?) because I find it lack a bit of cohesiveness - wheat on the walls and little plants in jars over a marbled/wood wallpaper? The menus are a magazine style so it was beautifully put together and easy to read. Service is awful. Walked into the store and up to the cashier who did not say anything to us. No hi or greetings. We found a table after we ordered and sat waiting for over 15 minutes to find our drinks sitting at the front counter. We saw the servers bring out the desserts to the other customers (I think maybe their friends) so thought they would bring ours out, but they didn't. Nor did they call out our order. So our drinks sat there melting until we went up to ask them and got them ourselves. I also found it surprising how small the play area is. For a play cafe, I expect something more than a bench in front of a tv, 2 small kid tables with colouring pencils, and some books. Maybe the larger waiting area is meant for parents while they wait for their kids because they have a private area for workshop & party. On thing I really liked is that they use wooden spoons and paper straws! But I couldn't find a separate garbage bin for paper waste. While our desserts tasted decent I wouldn't come back because there are similar or better dessert places in Richmond/Vancouver where service is not non-existent. read more
