Went in the morning want to ensure Mochis are available. Had 6 of each of the mango + durian ones. Mango ones are in chunks sooo good; durian is creamier smoother mixed with cream. Enjoyed both! Also had a tapioca custard pie, followed directions but it took twice the recommended time to bake so please beware. Very tasty.

I was told to come for some incredible mochi. It is a Small store in a plaza with parking. More of a grab and go type of place. Mochis came in a variety of flavors so it was hard to pick. It was nice that they had prepacked assortments that helped you maximize on tasting all the flavors. They prefer cash or debit but can accept credit as well. I got to try the mango, durian, chestnut and sweet potato mochi. The mochi skin was so incredibly soft and delicate, it is such a contrast to store bought mochi where you're just chewing through the skin and have very little filling. My favorite was the mango but to be honest, everything else was pretty tasty too. A great at snack if you're ever in the area.

02.12.26 @ 1:15pm Came just to try the mochi Durian & Mango. The mochi is really thin, soft like a snow and the filling mango was sweet and the durian was good. Gonna go back and get more since I'm still near by. I favorite the Durian more.

Came here to try their famous mochis and they did not disappoint. The skin was super thin and had the perfect chewy texture. I got the mango and the chestnut and liked the mango more because it was less heavy. Also got their black sesame sago pie and that was delectable as well. I really appreciated the friendly server who took his time to explain to us the preparation instructions and ideal storage conditions for the mochis and the sago pie. It's recommended to reheat the pie in an oven but, since we're tourists and didn't have easy access to an oven, we had to make do with a microwave and the end result was good as well. Mochis are recommended to be eaten within hours after purchase. Loved the HK-ness of this place. Communication done completely in Cantonese with awesome Cantopop songs playing in the background and Cantonese words and phrases posted all over the walls. LOVE!!

The mango and durian mochi were amazing and sold out fast. Definitely come early if you don't want to miss them! Chestnut and Ube were also good.

$$ CASH ONLY $$ Visiting Vancouver and asked some friends what are their recommendations in the Richmond area. Car's Dessert came highly recommended for its Mango Mochi. There are limited parking in its plaza, but I was able to find a spot fairly quickly. It is a cute store for To-Go only. No dine-in option available. The line was also relatively short when it opened in the morning and I was able to get my hands on my Mango Mochi. I would highly recommend eating the Mango Mochi as soon as possible as its skin is thin and soft. Make sure you keep them refrigerated if you are not planning to consume them immediately. Any reason that I loved their Mango Mochi is that it is made with real mangos. Not sure how their other desserts are, but everything looked good. Slightly pricey, but it is worth paying a little and treating yourself from time to time.

Their mochi is so good! After dinner, I was feeling quite full, but I stumbled upon this desserts place while exploring the area. It's a cute little shop with Hong Kong signs adorning its walls. The decor is simple yet charming and inviting. I ordered their combo mochi, which includes two durian and two mango. The ingredients were fresh and flavorful, and the mochi was simply delicious. The price is quite reasonable, around $16 CAD after taxes. I highly recommend visiting this place; the staff is very helpful and friendly.

TLDR: Mango Mochi. Black Sesame Pot pie? I like restaurants (or bakeries or dessert shops) which have a limited menu. In general, that means more care is taken to make SURE the food tastes excellent! This place is very small, on the corner of the strip mall. It has a small lineup of puddings, mochi, and dessert pies. Their mochi are SO DELICIOUS! I had a mango mochi, and I was expecting a mochi with some kinda mango filling. But no, the filling is actually Mango FRUIT in there! That was so unexpected and instantly it's the best mango mochi I've ever had. On top of that, the mochi skin is thin, stretchy, and yet strong enough not to leak. It's PERFECTLY made. I also got a black sesame pie. Even though I bought it a couple days earlier, when I bit into it, it was STILL EXCELLENT. The crust is flaky... reminds me a little bit of the flakiness from a boloh bao. And there is tapioca and black sesame inside. It was SO GOOD! The puddings are ok. They aren't bad either, but they aren't as extraordinary as either the pie or mochi. The mochi is THE BEST I've ever had (even better than ones I got in Japan!), and the Black Sesame pie is worth the flight alone. This place is EASILY 5 stars. When I travel back to Vancouver, this is definitely a must-visit!

Mochi is out of the world. Mango flavor is the best. Service is quick. No line up today. Take out only. No sit down or dine in option.

This is truly the 'go-to' gold star standard for Cantonese cold desserts, and for their limited amount of selection, it is still justified how good it is. I remember not to long ago when I use to visit this place in the Pacific Plaza food court on the second floor, a little food court stall in the corner, and now they have an actual store front right behind Aberdeen skytrain. I love the care and quality of all their products, which include their freshly made mochi... yes.. freshly made, like made to order, whether you want durian, mango, chestnut, or ube.... when you order, that is when it is made, and this place makes the best in the city... I've made some family members think twice at dim sum when they are in Richmond and would forgo ordering it there, and drive over here to fill their dessert void.... While you are waiting for your order you can read the history of the man behind the desserts, and also the reason for the name of the shop, it is quite nice. Also there is another menu, and that is written in Chinese near the cashier, these are the specials that are usually seasonal, and are worth a try, but if your are a traditionalist... stick with their mochi's, mango pomelo sago cold soup desserts, and also their baked pies. Since now they are in a plaza right behind the skytrain, there are a few parking stalls, just be warned this plaza can get a little tight, and don't be shocked if you show up past 5pm and they have a sign saying their mochi is sold out.... cause it can be sold out. I look forward to go again to get their newer products, like the black sesame rolls which are done very well!

The mochi are absolutely delicious, with a wonderfully thin skin; among all the flavors, durian and chestnut stand out as my personal favorites.

As I was going through the list of places on Yelp, car's dessert caught my eyes. It's located in a small plaza with a few parking spots. I came in the afternoon and luckily they still have the combo mochi. There's 4 flavors: durian, mango, chestnut, ube. I think the durian one definitely stood out. The flavor is quite strong. The mochi is very thin yet soft. I'm not sure how they did it but there's a good amount of filling inside. The service is quick since everything is premade, there's a small wait but mostly waiting for others to pay or decide what to get. Now I know where I'll go to stop by for dessert if I'm ever in the area again

The shop was very busy but the staff was very efficient. We lined up for less than 10 minutes with around 10 people in front of us. The place is a takeaway only shop, but still very well decorated. The owner was passionate with their products, and would love every customer to have the best experience with their desserts. She taught us how to store the desserts if we were not consuming them immediately. We tried their durian mochi and mango pomelo sago cream. The filling of the mochi is durian blended with cream, and is very rich, creamy and smooth. The mochi skin is of the right consistency - chewy yet soft. The mango pomelo sago cream was tasty too! With quite some mango chunks.

The dining space is small but the decoration inside makes you feel like you transported to a different country. Marshmallow Thick Toast 4/5 The toast was about an inch thick, well toasted outside with a pillowy soft center. There's some melted chocolate on the bottom that added to the smores vibe. The marshmallows on top weren't very thick, so it melted to an even layer with perfect browning. The toast was cut into 9 pieces so it can be shared but given the portion I think 1-2 people would be fitting for this dessert. We weren't too hungry, so we shared amongst 4. Jasmine Tea Jelly 4/5 I really liked how fragrant the jelly was and that the jelly was a softer jelly that reminds you of Aiyu jelly. The after taste was a bit bitter but I feel like that tells me it was brewed and made and not just bought to serve. It's served with a splash of half and half I believe. To-Go I wanted to try and compare all the tea flavored jellies they had, Jasmine, Oolong and Earl Grey Tea Jelly. Packaged with small packets of the half and half to add later. The best was OOLONG 5/5- it had a slight roasted tea flavor that was refreshing and comforting at the same time. What you would want from a milk tea. Second best was Jasmine - fragrant and less bitter than the one I had in restaurant, typical jasmine flavor that's lightly floral and not too heavy Earl Grey 3/5 - it was good if you like earl grey like me, but it has an intensely strong fragrance and flavor that might be off-putting if you're not used to the taste. It was by far the strongest floral taste and smell of the three. I'd definitely be back to get these to go, they carry well and you can cross borders with them :)
