Box of mochi (Mango, strawberry, and durian) + A Jumbo Mango Mochi
Brenda T.

Waiting time: 4/5 Cleanliness: 4/5 ‍Service: 4/5 Taste: 5/5 Pricing: 3.5/5 Overall: Lined up about five minutes after they opened and waited around 10 minutes - not bad! I got a box of four mochis for about $14 ($3.50 each) plus one jumbo mango mochi. The mochis were super fresh since they were constantly restocking trays straight from the kitchen. I thought the mango would be my favorite, but the strawberry one actually was my #1! The filling was creamy with a yogurt like flavor, almost as if the strawberry was mixed into the cream. The durian and mango mochis had plain whipped cream filling, which was still good but less unique. I've seen a few reviews saying the durian was spoiled or off, but mine was totally fine. I'd definitely come back, but I wouldn't wait more than 15 minutes. Most people seem to buy boxes instead of singles, so be prepared that your favorite flavor might sell out before it's your turn.

We got quite a few things from here The mango mochi and the sesame mochi were our favourites. For the price, the items are pretty good. I wished the flavours were a bit stronger but I understand why they don't make them too strong. It's more accepting for the mass public to have less strong flavours The mango Sago and the matcha pudding were okay. I wouldn't get these again The mochis I would get again if I was really craving mochi and wanted a cheap alternative

swung by hafu dessert at crystal mall, i've heard so many good things, have been meaning to check it out, and lucked out with no lineups. managed to snag the last two durian mochis (yes!). by the time i got there, a little after 5:30 pm, there were only three flavours left: durian cream, fresh mango cream, and black sesame and biscuit crumbs cream, guessing they sell out fast. they only accept cash or debit, and you have to buy in even numbers, so i went for six (figured i'd share...but scarfed down two before dinner). the durian had a subtle flavour, and the mango with cream was fresh, super soft, glutinous, and absolutely delicious. just the right amount of sweetness and that melt in your mouth texture. it's about a two bite dessert, three if you want to be dainty. they're meant to be eaten within six hours, and hoping the other four will keep since they're a little gift for my guests tonight. pricing's $13.80 + tax for four pieces or $7.15 + tax for two, with an extra $0.25 per mango mochi due to higher mango prices. apparently on weekends only, you can get the half mango, limit one per customer at $8.50 + tax. note to self: next time, go earlier and maybe even on a weekend.

New spot for mochi fruit desserts. Honestly, overhyped and overpriced. Staff don't know how to do line control. They sold out before my turn in line so I did a preorder and came back later in the day to collect my order. They didn't have a separate line for pick ups but as a pre-order pick up, I was able to just go up to the till and ask for my order. They plan for that experience in the future if they will continue with pre-ordering. On to the food, it was quite expensive for... Mochi. I understand the labour costs to make them fresh but $14 a box for 4 mini mochis + $6 for a jumbo mochi doesn't make sense (especially if it's not fully fruit)! It was fruity and tasty but this was not worth the cost or wait, in my opinion. The jumbo mango mochi isn't actually a half mango wrapped in mochi. It is cubed mango in a cream mixture that is shaped to look like a half mango. Quite deceiving and not comparable to places in Richmond that do an actual half mango mochi. The mini mochis was offered in a few flavors: mango, strawberry, black sesame, durian and Oreo. The perk is it's mix and match, as I only bought mango and strawberry mochis. Beware the mini mochis require being bought in groups of 4.

The shop is located inside the crystal mall in Metro Town. A short walk from the metropolis mall and the sky train. I was lucky to not have a long line in front of me and I was able to get a set of 4 mochis for less than 15$ after tax. I got two durian mochis and two mango mochis. They use real fruit but the cream around it makes the mochi not an original mochi.

Best mochi I have ever had here in Vancouver! Going on a week day during the day, there is no wait. I hear that its popular on Saturdays because there was a sign for the giant mango mochi that is only available on Saturday ( its their viral item). Their boxes are designed to hold 4 regular sized mochis and they have deals for buy multiples of 2 or 4. Cash or debit preferred as there will be a 2% service charge for card. We got 4 : 2 mango, one cookie crumble and one strawberry. Texture for all of them were just the perrrrrrfect chew and softness. Fillings were good ratio to cream and fruit - real fruit pieces that were sweet! Yes , pricing is a little steep for a palm sized mochi and its an extra $0.25 for the mango ones , but for a treat is still a top pick for me. For the quality and taste you get , I think its worth it haha. Would go back to try more flavours ! Makes for a great gift or something sweet to bring to a small gathering if you are feeling generous and able to not eat it all yourself on the way !

I went twice today to snag these. First time, I was told to come back later. When I came back for the second time, there was a line up outside the store. I was either fifth or sixth in line and waited about 15 minutes. You can get 4 mochis for $13.80 + gst. Cash or debit, or pay an additional 2% if paying by credit card. They're a little on the small side, Id say about half the size of your palm. They're also not as chock full of fruit that one would expect from a fruit filled mochi. In fact, I would say this is the least filled mochi I've had. The texture of the mochi itself though is amazing - super soft, with a subtle sweetness to it. Would I recommend this place? I think there's better mochi out there for a better price point, and I hate lining up for food, but if I were to just walk by and there was no line, I might buy a couple.

The menu has shrunk considerably and their business days/hours are also a lot less than what it was previously. The drinks were not as tasty as they used to be. My Blue Rose drink was the best of the bunch and I would say even that was just OK. I enjoyed the Lychee jelly in my drink. That was probably the best part of the drink. The liquid part was kinda "meh" for me. I think the best thing we ordered was the matcha soft serve ice cream. On the flip side, there was a guy playing piano there and they were taking requests. I suggested Demon Slayer and the guy played the famous "Gurenge" song by Lisa from season one of Demon Slayer. That was kinda cool. He was a very good pianist. Great way to liven the atmosphere. Also, there was a guy who came around and gave us all tiny paper cranes. It's nothing much, but still always nice to be gifted with anything at all. Business must be hard for them. It would sure be nice to see them return to how they used to be, with a bigger menu, tastier drinks and more days/hours again. We love this place for the manga/ anime vibes that it exudes, and love the Matcha soft serve ice cream they sell here. Really wanna give this place a higher rating but the drinks were really not up to par this time, and as much as we love the Matcha ice cream, it is not by itself enough to warrant giving out a higher rating. If they could just improve the quality of their drinks again...then even if they menu remains limited, at least if everything they serve is of good quality...that would be enough to merit a higher rating.

Interior not that big, but for a dessert place it's not too small, with some trendy interior. . Was pretty lively and busy on a random weeknight, but maybe because holiday period where students are out of school, but we snagged an open table before the place got full. Order at the counter and they'll call your number to get the food. Waited for 5 mins for our order. We got the red bean bingsoo. Pretty substantial serving of shaved ice with red bean, shaved almond, raisin, and other toppings. I like that the toppings weren't super sweet, but they also give a small cup of condensed milk to up the sweetness. Portion is definitely for sharing unless you want to eat dessert for a meal.

The shaved milk ice itself wasn't very saturated or creamy, and there was a lot of cocoa powder, which made it taste kind of dry overall. I didn't leave feeling super satisfied. That said, the service was great! The staff was really friendly and honest -- when I asked about the mango bingsoo, the person helping us let me know the mangos weren't ripe yet and might taste a bit tart, which I appreciated. Also, there's plenty of seating, so it's a nice place to hang out and chat without feeling rushed.

Well I took the fish shaped waffle off the soft serve and ate the sorbet with a spoon then took a bite out of my waffle fish! Apparently after watching everyone else around me, you're supposed to just bite the waffle while it sits atop the soft serve. Oh well I guess I'll have to come back and try it that way next time! The soft serve is very light and the flavours are delicate. The waffle is really yummy with a soft chew. It's a busy and popular spot filled with teens and twenty somethings. The lineup moves pretty quickly but seats are often taken. Tables don't get wiped down often as staff are busy making cones but you can always ask them to wipe it down for you. Great dessert place for something light and refreshing.
