I'd heard so many great things about Macu Tea and finally checked it off my list! I got the Chi Chi which came with cheese foam (my fav) and tea jelly. As I'd expected, the mango was very fresh and tasted super refreshing. Despite there being no option to customize the sugar, it wasn't too too bad at all and the mango tasted naturally sweet without being overly so. I can see why Macu is so raved about and I hope to be back one more time before the end of summer
Very happy with my first experience at Macu! I wanted to try it in Taiwan but didn't have a chance to go but I was thrilled at the chance to go here in Vancouver. I always like to try the milk tea as I think it does a good job of yelling you about the quality of the drinks of a boba shop on general and the milk tea did not disappoint! Great, robust flavor, nice balance with 30% sweet and a nice balance of milk and tea flavor. Also, we got the seasonal strawberry smoothie. The best drink we got but it was very close. We also got some fruit teas. Close your eyes, pick one, and you won't be disappointed. The shop was busy. Clean and cute storefront. The parking lot is not fun but worth it at the end.

They had 4 employees working hard and fast so the wait is not bad. You don't have anywhere to sit but the facility is clean and bright King of mango drink was delicious- perfect sweetness with great mango flavor Strawberry slush- refreshing and taste was on point. This came with strawberry jelly and my kiddo was not used to the texture. It tasted good to me Ceylon tea was just ok.

Staff were friendly and helpful in answering questions. While waiting for our drinks, I could see cases of fresh mango lining the back walls. This is a good sign. Expect a line up (I waited a total of 20mins on Monday evening) but worth the wait. Free mall parking

There were 3 people ahead of me waiting to order from the kiosk. I ordered their king of mango smoothie and Tieguanyin Oolong Milk Tea w/ Boba. The mango smoothie was refreshing, mangoes they used were ripe and sweet and I like that it was paired with tea jelly instead of boba as it was less sweet and filling. The tieguanyin milk tea had a nice strong tea flavor and the boba were chewy and roasted with brown sugar yet it's not too sweet. I highly recommend this place as their bubble teas are tasty and fresh. Their staff were friendly and service was quick. The price was also very reasonable as I would be paying the same price except in USD and it's no where near as good. This is going to be a place I would come back to everytime I'm in town.
This popular beverage shop in Richmond specializes in mango drinks that I absolutely love. They are called drink desserts and my favorite is D02. Chi-Chi Mango Smoothie. On this day, I decided to try D04. Chi-Chi Strawberry Smoothie instead, and it was a winner too. Little more tart and less sweet than the mango, but when mixed with Chi-Chi foam, it tastes like strawberry and cream. Yum!
Located basically in a bubble tea plaza - competition is tight - however this one usually has a line-up out the doors during the warmer months - This is because there mango drinks are so good! - so the drinks are so enhanced when mangos are in season - Typical bubble tea joint service standard - they are quick and efficient - however sometimes you might encounter language barriers - but usually the top 10 best sellers are safe bets to go with when in doubt. Place is clean and very bright - with fresh mangos visible everywhere -
I've lost track of how many times I've come to Macu this year! Every time I go, there is a line so you can guess how popular they are. I've tried the King of Mango Smoothie (it has a milky/creamier taste), Bo-Bo Mango Smoothie (pure mango tastes, probably my favourite), and Bo-Bo Strawberry Smoothie (a bit tart, but nice to switch to if you're not feeling mango). I do have to say that it's almost $9 for a drink, but it's really filling (I feel like it's more of a dessert than a drink).
Macu Tea is from Taiwan and specializes in fruit drinks. The King of Mango Smoothie is a must get. It isn't customizable in sweetness, but it was just right. The mango flavor was super fresh, and the jelly added a nice texture. You can tell this is their most popular drink since the store is lined with boxes of mangoes. I also tried the QQ Passion Fruit Drink, which was a mix of sweet and tart. I'd recommend going with 10-30% sugar, since the passion fruit seeds already add natural flavor. I thought the QQ Milk Tea was just alright compared to the other two drinks. Overall, everything I had was well-made and I'd come back to try more.
We were looking for a place to satisfy our sweet tooth and I'm so glad we came across Macu Tea. They're primarily known for their mango drinks- the whole store is lined with cases and cases of fresh mango! We came on a weekend and the wait was pretty long- at least 30 minutes. We ordered their most popular drink- the King of Mango smoothie. It was delicious! It's pretty thick though, so it's not really a thirst-quenching drink. The mangos were fresh and sweet. I wasn't very impressed by the green tea jelly it came with, but its flavor is pretty neutral. I wish they let us customize the toppings- would have loved to add boba! Other than that, if you're craving mango drinks, Macu Tea is a great option! Excited to come back and get some of their other drinks.
Been a few times to Macu Tea. They have three other locations (DT, Kerrisdale and Burnaby). Wait is usually 15 to 30 minutes. Drinks are $6.00 to $8.75. Nice that they put a small bench at the back. - ACE strawberry avocado smoothie ($8.75) - slightly too icy. Better if they blended the strawberries - Premium orange li-li tea ($7.75) - Bo-bo grape smoothie ($8.25) - good jelly & agar. Thick, smooth texture. For some reason I thought I posted my review! I guess I forgot. Came here with my friends for a girls getaway. Someone told us about this place, and so glad we went. We all got some kind of mango drink and it was delicious. Line is long but it's worth the wait. My friend and I cracked up because I took a photo of our other friend. The old white lady among the young Asians hahahaha. Place was quaint, servers were friendly. You can see boxes upon boxes of mangoes. We drove from Seattle, and found out there's a MACU in Seattle near uw and one just opened up in Bellevue. I asked the owners to open one more south like Covington or Kent. read more

Heard how good their tea was but never had a chance to try until now. The king of mango smoothie is THE best mango tea I've had. Had to wait 30 mins to get my tea but it was worth the wait. The sugar level is perfect with fresh mango juice and chunks. Will definitely come back again. read more

I always see a long line up here. Tries their most famous king of mango hoping for the most mango-iest drink of all time. However, it was actually mango pomelo. I do like mango pomelo the chinese dessert so I didn't mind. The mango flavor wasn't the strongest though. read more

I was going to get the lili mango drink with the passion fruit pulp but I went with the mango smoothie for my first try here. I thought the mango smoothie was very good so I'll have to return to this place next time I go to Vancouver. By the way, there was a long line out the door. About 30-40 people. So apparently this place is known for being good! read more

Dropped by on a weekday afternoon and it was busy! Luckily you just order from a kiosk so they had quite a few people making drinks. I had the king mango smoothie after many recommendations. Unfortunately it was a little disappointing. I liked the green tea jelly, but the drink itself lacked mango flavour. The slush part was a bit icy and maybe watered down the mango. Maybe because it was busy, the drink was rushed but based off of this visit, I probably wouldn't go back for this drink since there are other places that make similar ones. read more

During our recent visit to the Richmond area, we decided to check out Macu. It's located in a shopping plaza with lots of restaurants and stores. We arrived on an early Friday evening and there was a short line at the self-order kiosk. We ordered the King of Mango Smoothie, the #1 dessert drink on the menu. It was a blend of mango, coconut milk, grapefruit, and green tea jelly. The drink was refreshing and not overly sweet. The green tea jelly added a unique texture that complemented the drink very well. They have a variety of other smoothie flavors, fruit teas, and milk teas, all made to order. By the time we left, the line was out the door and onto the sidewalk. read more
The line was quite long when we stopped by as there was only one terminal for customers to place their order. Some went quickly but others took so much longer customizing their drinks. The only time a staff came to the register happened when someone wanted to pay in cash. We waited almost 15 minutes for our first two drinks and then another five minutes before our final drink was ready. Staff just told us to wait but not why it was taking so long. For awhile they also stopped calling out the order numbers when the drinks were placed on the counter. People started walking up to look for themselves. The chi chi mango smoothie was sweet with lots of mango flavors. The 3Q leaf tea needed more sweetness even though it was ordered at the recommended levels. Brown sugar milk tea was sweet and creamy and the boba had the right chew. We'll try a different tea place next time. read more
The line was crazy here today on a Friday afternoon! We waited a little over 40 minutes, but were disappointed with the drinks. We got the sunshine li-li tea and the king of mango. We saw everyone before us get the king of mango, so we were super excited for it. However, the drink was super mellow on the mango flavors. It wasn't as distinct as I would've liked. The li-li drink was actually a little better for me. It was refreshing, but I thought the passion fruit flavors were faint too. It isn't as sour as most passion fruit drinks I would get back in Southern California. Overall, I was disappointed in how long we waited for drinks that weren't very strong in their flavors. read more
We went a few minutes after opening and there was already a small line. Can order from the kiosk and also from the cashier so it moves pretty quickly. The drinks also come out relatively quickly. Love their king of mango drink! It's so refreshing on a hot sunny day. The mixture of green tea jelly, grapefruit and mango is perfect. Overhyped. I keep seeing the longest lines out of Macu tea. One day we finally decided to try it. We arrived at about 5:30-40 and only waited about 15 minutes (the line didn't look too long) but on days when the line does look long, I can only imagine the wait is 40+ minutes. Once we got into the store, we still had to wait for our bubble teas to be made so you'll have to budget your time accordingly. I ordered the king of mango smoothie, it's supposed to be the most popular of the mango series and it was really underwhelming. I'm a big fan of a mango drink but there was a lot of slush and not a lot of coconut taste. I would have liked to see more mango chunks but I think it was mostly in the slush. The mango taste didn't particularly shine through. The tea jelly was really amazing and fragrant but towards the end there it started tasting like banana (can someone else confirm? Is it supposed to be like that??). Banana is not listed in the ingredients so that put me off. We also ordered a brown sugar pearl mt and it was better than the mango. The pearls are really chewy. Probably not worth waiting the usual post-dinner 30min line. I don't really know why people spend as much time waiting in line at the Richmond location especially when there are sooo many other better bubble teas places in the same plaza. Just a shame that people will live and die for the hype. read more

If you love mangos or strawberries, this is the place for you. Food: 5/5 - smoothies are made with fresh fruit. Service: 5/5 - good service as they had several people making your drinks Ambiance: 4/5 - small area to sit Parking is a challenge in the plaza. Note they open late at 12 pm. Beware of long lineups but it goes fast. Plus it's worth the wait. read more

Second visit to Macu tea and had the strawberry Bobo smoothie and the honey grapefruit tea! Even though the grapefruit tea didn't have any toppings, I loved the pop of the grapefruit pulp in the drink. As always the strawberry smoothie was fresh with lots of tasty toppings. Recommend coming in later in the afternoon for quicker wait times read more
Macu tea is one of the pricier bubble tea options but the experience is well worth it! They always have fresh fruit in season so you are always getting guaranteed real fruit. While they are most famous for their mango drinks in the summer, I personally like the strawberry drinks for fall/winter. read more

For years of my life I thought I was indulging in pretty good boba back in Texas. It wasn't until I came here that I truly thought that a drink blew my tastebuds off this world. I arrived here at 9:30 pm on a Wednesday night, and the inside was packed with a line wrapping around the block and around the corner to the street. I already knew this was going to be insane when I saw this line. Everybody here was also only here for 1 drink, the king of mango. I overheard the guy behind me mention to the girl that he was with that this is his 7th time here in the past 2 weeks. You would think that this place is having their grand opening, but they've been open for over a year already. After we ordered, we waited about 10 to 15 minutes for our drink. The whole back wall of this place was lined with boxes of mangoes. We got the king of mango smoothie, chi chi mango smoothie, and a hot matcha latte. The king of mango smoothie genuinely blew my mind. It was SOOO GOOD. Mango was sweet but not too tart, I love how there are mango chunks within the smoothie as well. They use fresh fruit here. The chi chi mango smoothie was similar but has cream cheese and pulp. It was good but it doesn't defeat the king. The matcha latte was good, they use good quality matcha. If you ever come here, you need to try the king of mango smoothie. SOO SOO GOOD I hope they open one in Dallas. read more

I got the No. 1 best seller King of Mangos and I can see why it is!! It's very refreshing with the jelly and grapefruit inside. You cannot change this signature sweetness or add anything to it but you don't need to. It's sweet but not overwhelming. There are lots of chunks of mangos and grapefruit. It's so worth it. Be warned lots of people. You order from the big tablet. They are as efficient as they can be but just plan for a line. read more
Our first time here! We were pleasantly surprised with how delicious it was! We ordered the chi-chi strawberry drink and it was phenomenal! The tea jelly at the bottom was a pleasant surprise - it worked really well with the drink. The only downside is that it was super crammed inside. The line moved relatively fast, so it wasn't too bad. I definitely would love to come back when they have their mango smoothie - which seems to be during the summertime. read more

My friend and I heard about this popular boba place and we knew we had to try it. We came on a friday afternoon and there was a huge line out the door, but luckily we only waited around 20 minutes. I got the chi-chi mango smoothie and it was so good! I liked the cheese foam on top which was slightly salty and complimented the sweetness of the mango smoothie. There were also pieces of chewy crystal boba in the bottom. It was sweet, but understandable since it's more like a dessert drink. Can't wait for them to open in southern california. read more

***FOOD: Review for the Downton Robson St location, MANGO TEA - very mangoy, so creamy and full of real mango. Extremely filling and heavy. ***COST (OUT OF 4$) $ very good drink for the price. ***DÉCOR: very very limited seating, the shop is basically small on Robson st and therefore they've had to stack their mango crates where there could be seating. Picnic tables outside. Basically you can't hang out here. It's a to go place. ***SERVICE: counter service. Because it's made fresh and the drink is pretty labor intensive, wait is long and then there's the line to order which sometimes goes out the door. Long wait to order and even longer for your drink to be made. ***RECOMMEND: HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Definitely will come back for a drink. read more
