Milk tea slush with pearls and purple rice milk tea with mochi
    Rosalyn L.

One of the few spots that have a good milk tea slush! I ordered a milk tea slush while my friends ordered their coconut pudding mango coconut milk, purple rice milk tea with mochi and their fleshy mango slush with sago. Their milk tea is decenty strong, and surprisingly, even though we got regular sugar, the drinks weren't overly sweet. I'm not a huge fan of mochi bubble tea as I find the the texture to be a bit too slimy, but this one was flavoured well and wasn't overly slimy. My only gripe was that they took a while to make one of our drinks, while others after us ended up getting their drinks almost right away. The rest of us eventually got ours but we still ended up waiting quite a while for that one drink. They also didn't offer their daily special drinks, which their location on No. 3 road does. We also thought that was a bit disappointing as we wanted to get their daily special for the day. My friend said their coconut mango drink was quite good so I may be back to try that next time!

A lot smaller location than the other one we visited. Located in a strip mall across a supermarket. Walk in no sitting area. Servers were super friendly. Sadly out of the honeydew special. Highly recommend the pork floss cake and taro mochi drink.

Was recommended to try their fleshy grape slush with sea salted foam and although I'm not a huge fan of grape flavour, I still really enjoyed this drink. The drink itself was beautiful with the layer of purple slush over clear boba and fresh grapes. I did taste a slight artificial grape flavour which made it more of a 9.5/10 for my personal liking. The sweet fruit with salted foam was the perfect combination and I'd highly recommend this drink.

Enjoyed this place so much, I drove back the next day to grab another drink before I left town! All the fruit drinks were so yummy. Lots of fresh fruit chunks on the "fleshy" slushes. Tastes like high quality ingredients. The Mega Mango slush drink with coconut and jelly has tons of fresh mango. I especially loved my honeydew melon drink. I would have never have created a drink with melon, tea, coconut milk, jelly, and clear boba. But it was sooooo good. Clean and bright inside with a few seats, but were take away orders.

I enjoy going to Sun Tea and I like going to this one. The fruit is always good and the drinks have a great flavour. Service is pretty typical. The one thing is when you go here, it always smells like I'm in a hospital and it's a little off putting for bubble tea. Sometimes the drink tastes like the smell which again, a little off putting. Their Fleshy series is my favourite!

Sun Tea is a super clean boba shop thats located in the heart of Richmond. It is only a quick short walk away from the skytrain. There are plenty of counter seats to sit at to enjoy your refreshing drink. I had a boba milk tea when I went here. The milk tea tasted high quality and fresh. But the boba could use more syrup, I didnt finish my boba for that reason.

They offer a lot of unique mochi and pork floss desserts and drinks! I LOVE pork floss and seaweed cakes, and it's so hard to find them anywhere else. I got a fleshy strawberry and peach tea and my friend got the soybean mochi milk tea hot; both were delicious and not too sweet! The interior is very new and modern!

Great fruit teas, plenty of seating, and affordable. They have also have a self service kiosk if you wish to use that.

Sun tea has their fleshy pink peach series back and it's right in time for summer. * You get to have 2 options with the full tea or as a slush. I definitely recommend the slush option as it's super refreshing and the jellies are so good with it. It's not too sweet and has loads of nectarines in it as well. I also love that the fresh nectarines were sweet and crunchy. It's also super pretty too and for all you nectarine and peach lovers this is the perfect drink for you to check out! * Full tea: 7/10 // slush: 8/10.

Coconut Pudding Coconut Milk & Durian Cheese Dorayaki

Very cute little shop. I came and took a drink and dorayaki to go. It looks like they plan to have a small seating area in their shop someday, but it isn't open yet. Their menu had a lot of drinks that sounded really interesting, but I went with the Coconut Pudding Coconut Milk drink. I really liked all the coconut going on in this! You can adjust sugar and ice level, and I went for 0 sugar 0 ice. The coconut milk basically tastes like you'd expect, it has a very subtle natural sweetness but if you like sweet drinks you'd definitely want to add some sugar. The coconut pudding was really good and added an extra depth of coconut flavour. The white pearls (included) complimented the texture of the pudding nicely. Sometimes I feel like white agar pearls are rubbery but these had a nice chewy, springy texture. I got the Durian Cheese Dorayaki. They warmed this up for me and I liked the slightly melty cream cheese in the middle with it warm. The durian flavour was very powerful and with the cream cheese it was a lot of flavour going on, but in a good way in my opinion. I thought the interplay of sweet and savoury was really effective. I was also surprised by how big the pancake was and how much filling was inside. Combined with the drink, this was quite filling! I made the mistake of getting a separate lunch to go with it, but next time I'd just get the drink and dorayaki as a light meal. It's nice to see a shop that's making "fancier" bubble tea drinks at a slightly lower price than lots of high-end places. Their drinks range from about $5-$7 depending on the complexity, and the more expensive drinks usually have toppings included. The staff was super nice and the person who took my order was very helpful explaining the drink. I'm not in Richmond that often so while it's unlikely that I'll get the chance to visit this location again, I definitely want to check out their other locations and try more of their stuff!

New Sun Tea opened in Richmond. Just across the street from Pricesmart Foods. Now you don't have to travel to Burnaby. I have ordered two beverages and two dorayaki togo. * Fleshy Grape Slush ($7.20) : you can choose your preferred sugar level. I've got 0% sugar and it's perfect amount of sweetness that I like. Very refreshing and sweet drink. There are really skinless grapes and jelly boba in the drink which is really delicious. * Brulee boba milk tea (Regular size $5.50) : taste like your average milk tea with very mild hint of burlee flavor. I can't really get too much of burlee taste in this drink. The boba is quite chewy for me. I would prefer a little bit more softer. * Strawberry Cocoa Dorayaki ($5.95) : actually..not much flavor of cocoa. I was expecting the cocoa may be stronger but this dorayaki has stronger taste of strawberry and cream cheese. They use the cocoa flavor corn flakes, but the flakes are soft and mushy in between when we taste it..again, not much cocoa flavor. But this flavor is not bad. * Durian Cheese Dorayaki ($6.95) : I love durian, so I am very excited when I saw this flavor. However, personally I don't think durain and cheese goes well together... both taste really strong and not a good mix of flavor together. I found it tastes a bit strange to me. Will not get it again. They are still in the soft opening stage. Make sure to check it out later and there might be more stuffs to come.

Taro tea was okay. I wish it was a hotter drink. I've had better. It was around $7 CAD for a drink.

I personally tried the cheese foam black tea with mochi and golden pearls which costed close to 10CAD. The cheese foam was slightly salty and pretty creamy, and the taste is much more pronounced when you dip the plain mochi into the drink. The mochi itself was slightly soft though a bit uneven in texture as some parts are chewy and some parts are already a little bit dry. I do like they nicely wrapped the mochi in a plastic bag to preserve the moisture, though I ended up trying it out immediately to get the maximum freshness. The tea itself is flavorful and not too sweet, which is what I intended because I opted for light sugar (30%). The golden pearls were pretty chewy and are the right preferred texture. While I liked the general quality of the drinks, like other reviews mentioned, the price of the drinks are a bit on the higher end but the quality did not really scale up compared to a good boba spot.

Besides scone and tea, you can get regular food here as well such as fries, salt & pepper chicken, and radish cake to name just a few. You can also get cold drinks like juice & bubble tea, and bubble tea drinks here too. So...not your typical British style Afternoon Tea joint. Kind of half restaurant, half tea place. My friend had a pot of Leisure Fresh Fruit tea and a scone. We'd already had lunch a bit earlier and while my friend had room for a scone, I had zero room in my stomach for any food so I just had a pot of Longan Red Date tea. It was a cold day so a pot of hot tea really hit the spot. I thought it a bit pricy at first, but when the tea came, I saw that the teabags were Fortnum & Mason teabags. That is a very a prestigious company from all the way over in England. When I realized we were drinking Fortnum & Mason tea, all of a sudden $10.25 didn't seem so extravagant any more. My friend said her scone seemed like more of a biscuit than a scone. It came with butter and jam. I think she wished there had been some clotted cream to go with it. I can't say too much about the food as I only had one pot of tea but I was impressed that it was Fortnum & Mason tea, and I very much enjoyed the flavor of the Longan & Red Dates in my tea.

This location is the one I tend to come across the most cause I usually am visiting the mall. The shop sticks out with it's red design. There's quite of a selection of drinks on it though. Most of them are on the sweeter side with their cookies and cream shake. They've got a lot of crazy drinks going on, but I'm a simple man that likes his simple drinks and lately, I've been very much into the #8 fresh jade lemon green tea. Because the drinks are pretty sweet I usually adjust it to like 75% sweetness. I also adjust the ice level to get more for my buck and ask for less ice. Hard to judge boba shops in my opinion. Especially since any adjustments I make to my drink is on me and not on the shop. Service was quite fine. Only one person was on the job when I was there, but I've seen two people there before. One to make drinks and the other manning the cashier. Overall, I thought my drink turned out fine. Just have to adjust by trial and error to get the right sweetness down for yourself.
