BUYER BEWARE - WEBSITE HACKED? I've ordered from Republica a bunch of times before with no issues and really enjoy their roasts but my last order was a mess. Paid through their website using PayPal and the money went to some random business name I've never heard of. A few days later they emailed me saying they never got the funds and basically told me to contact PayPal to try to get the money back. Their explanation was that it was a "PayPal technical issue" and that I should always double check the payee name before sending money. That doesn't sit right with me. If I'm checking out on your official website I shouldn't have to second guess whether the payment is actually going to you. Their site was either hacked, their PayPal setup was compromised, or they misconfigured it. How can I check out on YOUR website, have a receipt showing 4 lbs of roasted coffee, but the seller name on PayPal is some random name not associated to them? In addition to that, when they contacted me about my order they accidentally CC'd other people who were most likely affected by the same issue. Their official responses: "Unfortunately, due to a technical issue with PayPal's payment system, some payments were mistakenly authorized to an account not associated with us. In some cases, transactions have shown the recipient's name as "Toko Maria" or "Toko Putri." Please note that Republica Coffee never received these funds." "We wanted to clarify that due to a recent technical issue with PayPal, some payments were mistakenly authorized to accounts not associated with Republica Coffee. If your transaction shows any recipient other than Republica Coffee Roasters Inc., the payment did not reach us. As a result, your current order has been cancelled, and you can place a new order." Instead of owning it they downplayed it, canceled my order, and asked me to order again!? I'm still fighting with PayPal to dispute the original charge with no success yet. I was happy to stumble upon this coffee roaster on a trip to Fort Langley. They're kinda tucked into an alleyway, but since Fort Langley isn't a huge town, it's not hard to find. I bought the Fort Langley beans and have enjoyed a cup or two. It's a pleasant dark/medium blend that gives me enough flavor and punch in the morning. I also got the chance to sample the medium roast brewing the day I walked into the cafe. A few types of beans are on the steep side price-wise ($30 for Cuban). But the Fort Langley blend cost $16 for a 454g bag of beans. It's a decent price for what you get. This is the blend I took home, and I'm satisfied with what I got. If you're in Fort Langley and a coffee connoisseur, then I definitely recommend stopping by here. You'll appreciate it. read more

I'm rarely out in Fort Langley, but I had a couple meetings out here recently, so I popped into Republica to grab some caffeine and get some work done. Republica is a bit hidden in a cute little alley in Fort Langley village. The space inside is fairly open with very minimal seating, and smells like roasted coffee beans, which I love. I ordered myself an iced oat milk latte, which I enjoyed. The girl taking my order was friendly, helpful, and even went out of her way to find the owner's business card for me, which I really appreciated. On a beautiful day, you can enjoy your coffee outside in their shared communal space, where there are plenty of picnic tables. They even offer to bring out umbrellas for you to give you some shade. This is exactly what I did sans umbrella (it was nice of them to offer though!). If I'm out here for any meetings in the future, I'll be sure to pop back in here for another cup o' joe! read more

I've been ordering from them since way before COVID (prob started a yr ago?), to have my coffee delivered. They were quick and efficient. Today (Aug 13, 2020), I ordered 4lbs of beans at 11:16am and they arrived in the late afternoon -- TODAY! Thank you so very much, Republica Roasters! Normally they arrive the next day and once they arrived two days later. During COVID and working from home, having coffee readily available, without me having to go out, has been one of my greatest blessings. I just order online anytime. I have been wanting to visit Republica in Langley ever since I discovered their wonderful locally roasted coffee and I finally made it today. It was a beautiful drive down country roads to this location. I ordered an americano misto with coconut agave. Love their selection of various agave flavours. The coffee was hot, just like I like it, and the coffee was smooth and perfectly roasted. A few select cafes/retailers carry their coffee in town. read more

Only serves coffee but it's damn good coffee. It's kind of hidden away as well. There's a huge patio but no heaters.

The iced maple latte lacked maple flavour. Staff were quick to fix the issue and added an extra pump of syrup. I felt like the latte was underwhelming if I had to go back to get the drink fixed. Maybe the hot drinks are more promising? The coffee shop is cute. There was lots of their own brand merchandise up for sale. Seating inside is limited. I'm rarely on this side of Van, but since an errand took me out this way, it was just a quick scenic drive to a cute little downtown! The coffee shop itself is tucked slightly behind the main road, but it still has a steady stream of patrons. And no wonder - the coffee is so smooth, tasty and brewed well! and more than just a cup of coffee, it actually seemed like people went there especially to get freshly roasted beans imported from all over the world! Anyways, I got a lattee with some irish cream agave syrup (there are about 7-8 agave syrups to choose from) which was a first for me - I found it kept the flavor of the coffee with just a hint of sweetness, which was a nice change to have the coffee be at the forefront rather than a flavor or sugar in a latte. My friend got an americano which he really enjoyed. Man, I couldn't get over how soft/smooth the coffee was though - I found myself mentioning it every few sips! I guess it kept surprising me. Lol. \ The vibe is also very cool here - walls were decorated with fun coffee bags from all over the world and lots of fun / well designed merch scattered throughout the cafe. Not a lot of indoor seating, but there are some tables outside if the weather is nice. For a place so off the beaten path and away from the city, the amount of thought and intentionality that has gone into this place was obvious in a subtle brilliant way. Not sure why they are rated so high. The latte we got was soooo weak. It was like basically drinking milk. Definitely didn't roast their beans enough. And my iced americano ran out of ice in just a few minutes. They didn't put enough ice or made it cold enough. It all melted in a few minutes, resulting in my drink quickly becoming luke warm. Maybe if you buy beans from them and make it yourself it'll be better. read more

They have lots of selections of coffee made with real coffee beans. Every time I go there (which is like, every morning) and try a new coffee, the tastes and quality are better than the last time I went! They have a variety of milks to chose from in case you're vegan or you can't have milk. If I could chose one coffee to reccomend, I would chose the iced mocha for hot weather conditions, and the caramel machiatto for cold. But those suggestions are just my opinions. Overall, the staff are friendly, and the location (gasoline alley) is cute. It's the perfect place to go if you just need a quick caffeine fix. read more

Best shop in Langley and it's not close. They dont have any indoor seating but that's not what they're for. They're there to give you an amazing cup of specialty coffee, in whatever form your heart desires. If you're a true coffee snob like myself, you'll love this place. Not only do they import from 54 countries, but it's fair trade and organic too. With 8 different blend to choose from at the store, they also roast single origin too (online). They always stamp their bags with a "roasted on" label to let you know exactly when it was roasted. High hopes for this place based on others' feedback and having tried their coffee at another cafe, but both the americano and latte we had were simply terrible: the americano was burned so badly that neither of us cared to finish it, and the milk for the latte was over steamed, too hot, and with entirely the wrong texture. The espresso tasted as though the beans themselves may have been burned, or the shot was simply over extracted, or perhaps both. The result was coffee that was undrinkable. Hopefully this was an off day and normally the coffee is much better, but a 4/10 would be generous for this visit. read more

Had the opportunity to pick up a pound of Republica's "Perfect Storm" coffee while strolling through Fort Langley; Fantastic! It is a pleasingly smooth and rich dark blend, full bodied with enough punch to please - yet not muddy; just enough bright notes to keep your palate interested! I really enjoy this coffee more than anything the big roasters have to offer. This is true artisan coffee; roasted with care. Roasted with a purpose: great taste. Hand down THE BEST CHAI I HAVE EVER HAD. I'm a chai snob and have never really been to a coffee shop where I was had over heels in love till now. I got the spicy chai and it did not disappoint. I end up buying a jar of the tea by Aslan Chai for $10 and can't wait to buy more. The coffee shop is very small, outdoor seating is more available for this place. OH EM GEE! I went to Republica Coffee Roasters in Fort Langley®©™, and it was the highlight of my summer break so far. The workers (baristas) Phaedra and Jasmina we're lovely! Really nice to talk to and very good coffee makers :) i got an iced mocha with a custom twist (vanillas) an it was to die for! I loved the atmosphere, the energy, and the taste in my mouth. Republica has a variety that is CONSISTENTLY well roasted. I enjoy several light and medium roast blends and HARD TO FIND SINGLE ESTATE roasts from South America and Greenland (kidding on last one, but that Icelandic expresso roast is excellent). Kidding apart, if you purchase your beans weekly, and don't want to travel to Vancouver specialty roasters, REPUBLICA LANGLEY is on par with the best. Found this hidden joint by accident! We went to the grilled cheese place for lunch on a cold day. We were sitting out back and saw this place shining like a beacon in the middle of the night. Staff were super friendly and ready to answer any questions. Good selection of roasts to try and take home. Pretty dark roasts overall but that ain't bad. This was a great find - try it out. read more
