BUYER BEWARE - WEBSITE HACKED?…read more I've ordered from Republica a bunch of times before with no issues and really enjoy their roasts but my last order was a mess. Paid through their website using PayPal and the money went to some random business name I've never heard of. A few days later they emailed me saying they never got the funds and basically told me to contact PayPal to try to get the money back. Their explanation was that it was a "PayPal technical issue" and that I should always double check the payee name before sending money. That doesn't sit right with me. If I'm checking out on your official website I shouldn't have to second guess whether the payment is actually going to you. Their site was either hacked, their PayPal setup was compromised, or they misconfigured it. How can I check out on YOUR website, have a receipt showing 4 lbs of roasted coffee, but the seller name on PayPal is some random name not associated to them? In addition to that, when they contacted me about my order they accidentally CC'd other people who were most likely affected by the same issue. Their official responses: "Unfortunately, due to a technical issue with PayPal's payment system, some payments were mistakenly authorized to an account not associated with us. In some cases, transactions have shown the recipient's name as "Toko Maria" or "Toko Putri." Please note that Republica Coffee never received these funds." "We wanted to clarify that due to a recent technical issue with PayPal, some payments were mistakenly authorized to accounts not associated with Republica Coffee. If your transaction shows any recipient other than Republica Coffee Roasters Inc., the payment did not reach us. As a result, your current order has been cancelled, and you can place a new order." Instead of owning it they downplayed it, canceled my order, and asked me to order again!? I'm still fighting with PayPal to dispute the original charge with no success yet. Buy at your own risk.

There is an amazing amount of seating inside and outside and has a wheelchair/baby stroller friendly entrance but there are still steps from the two levels so be aware if you're heading there. The food was great and we ordered a sandwich, breakfast sandwich and scramble (with of course, some sweet treats!!). You order at the front and then they give you a number and you find seating. The kitchen was definitely busy bringing over dishes and baked goods. The food was good and the chocolate chip cookie was the fan favourite amongst my group. The sandwich was good and came with chips. Scramble was also good but nothing particular to write home about, would be nice if it came with a piece of toast! I had a lovely time meeting up with a friend here and I can't wait to try their restaurant a street over!

Really enjoyed my French Onion Soup ($15 I think), also ordered sourdough bread on the side which came toasted and lightly buttered! Side of bread cost a few dollars more. French onion soup was delicious, nice and cheesy with soaked through bread inside. Flat white was good too. I didn't like their cinnamon twist pastry though, very little cinnamon sugar and it wasn't really flaky. Staff were friendly and decently quick on service. Bustle cafe at 9:30am on a Sunday. A bit difficult to find at Fort Langley as always, but it's worth checking this place out!

I knew that I wanted to have a high tea when I came to BC for vacay. My friends and I came to the…read moreLittle White House Salon Cafe as it was a recommendation from a friend who lives there. What I didn't expect was how great things can come in small packages. The location is very tight and cozy, as space is small. It was beautifully furnished with some cute and vintage decor. The only downside I had in my experience is that it was really hot when I went, which made it really hot in the building. People were sweating like hot tea. Now what I am excited to talk about the high tea itself! My 3 friends and I shared a pot of cream of earl grey. The taste was rich and creamy (depending on how much cream and sugar you put). I really enjoyed the blend of the tea, it made me start drinking tea again at home. The food was great as it came with an assortment of sweet and savory pasteries. I really enjoyed the spinach puff pastry and lavender lemon tarts! It was just how you would have imagined. Flaky pastry with a creamy spinach and the tart lemon paired with a buttery crust. I just wish I had more of those to eat! You only get one per person. It's also worth mentioning that the staff were super helpful. We mentioned that one guest had a nut allergy and they were able to accommodate by bringing our friend her own separate tray! They also refilled our tea and cream quite often. We really felt like royalty with the service provided! I will be coming again! It definitely was a pleasure being there.

I had heard…read morenegative things about this place compared to other places for tea so I tried to talk her out of going. She said let's give it a try based on a recommendation from a friend. We were all pleasantly surprised. It wasn't so bad although they didn't have cloth napkins, we didn't get a choice of tea, the cups didn't match and there were some cheaper cutlery used, and finally there wasn't really a lot of food and the food was good but not anything remarkable.. I didn't like that the egg salad sandwiches used wonder bread or something of that quality. It could have been made a little more special and I wish there were more savoury items. Nevertheless, when we went, we got a choice of three rooms and it wasn't really busy so it was very nice. Usually your time is for an hour and 15 minutes, but we got to stay as long as we wanted. The staff were all very nice and friendly, which I appreciated and the decor was old-fashioned and the music was from the past so the ambiance was quite lovely. My mother really had a good time there, being her first high tea experience, with the added bonus of being able to spend some time in lovely Fort Langley. I would say it's worth a try.

A place just for tea drinkers. I know the coffee snobs have been getting a lot of attention…read morerecently with all these new brewing techniques, so it is nice to see a place dedicated just to tea. You can't even get a cup of coffee here! I love the friendly ambiance here. The owner is very pleasant and chatty and I just get a good vibe when I pop in. Usually I come here splattered with mud and a bit grubby looking from being out in the field, but they never treat me any different because of it. They have a daily special tea latte going, which I partake in while I look for interesting tea blends to bring home and gift to friends. The proprietor is very knowledgeable about tea, and a few months ago I learned about pu'erh teas and fermented teas from him. There is a huge variety of blends and pure teas and everything in between. The latte I had yesterday was green tea and jasmine. Every sip I took on my way home I kept exclaiming, "Oooh! Damn, that's good!" It was floral and smooth and just perfect. I must have looked like a lunatic to the other drivers as I frequently talked to my travel mug of tea. You might not notice this place unless you are looking for it. If you are a tea fan, I suggest you come here. Fort Langley is such a lovely place to visit, you might as well make a day of it.
