The is was my second time here. The first was in yaletown years ago and I was a vegan which they didn't have many options at the time. However now I'm more protein oriented and healthier which leaves my options open for more. To my surprise the food here was above average. The flavour added to the avocado toast was amazing the tomatoe jam is a must try. The chicken and waffles were good but I didn't mind the waffles and the chicken was tasty but a bit more batter than protein. Overall we were all happy. Would go back again. read more

The three of us (hubby, kid and I) went to OEB Langley for an early Father's Day Celebration. Not sure about the other locations, but this one allows reservations on the weekdays with a waitlist for weekends. Located at Willowbrook Mall, there was plenty of parking around the location. Interior is nice, bright and new. We were originally given a table inside with instructions to park our stroller by the washrooms. Stroller parked, we opted instead to sit out onto the enclosed patio. There were fewer people there and we thought it would be better, just in case our guy got fussy. The waitress easily found us a high chair (there was a large supply of high chairs, yay). She was bubbly, friendly and even had some great interactions with our little one. I had been to another OEB and found the food quite good. This location lived up to the same expectations. I ordered an omelet dish. Good amount of ingredients, ham, mushroom, green onions, and the omlet wasn't very greasy. One piece of toast and a decent amount of potatoes "fries". A great location within the Willowbrook Mall complex - love that I can go shopping after my lunch here. The food is solid and a very chill atmosphere that's pet friendly (I came with my dog!) Had the chicken and waffle and tuna crudo and I enjoyed both of them. Not too much service (hence -1 star) but I think it's because they were quite busy as it was Sunday. We came here on a Thursday morning. My kids each ordered the kids breakfast plate, I ordered an omelette, husband ordered the pierogi dish.. then we ordered their popular French toast dish. Everything was pretty decent. The omelette did have a slight artificial taste and texture to it. Luckily, the Tabasco I doused it with helped. The French toast was good and the pierogi dish was decadent and very heavy. Service sucked. Our waitress never once checked on us or cared. BENNIES FOR DAYS! One of the best salmon Benedicts I've ever had comes from OEB. Its called "The Ome That Didn't Get Away" and has silky smooth smoked salmon on top of your choice of poached egg. But the beautiful part about this meal is the hollandaise sauce! Absolutely delicious flavor that you can add to any bite to make it perfection. We opted for the waffle fries as our choice of side, which were also excellent! We also tried the Croque Madame, which is an elevated ham and egg sandwich, also perfection! We ordered a hot chocolate and caramel latte for drinks, and the latte was creamy and tasty, but we wished the hot chocolate had more thickness and flavor. Our server was really nice and attentive even though we went close to closing time and the place seemed to be around 80% full so it was still busy. I've come here for brunch 10-12 times and I've never been disappointed. I usually get the Laks or the Farmer John's Delight - both are delicious! Having eaten at the Brentwood's Lougheed location last year we had to try the new Langley location when we had the chance. It's way larger than the Burnaby location, but very bright and airy with lots of colour. We sat outside at the back side facing the mall as it was a beautiful morning. We arrived hungry and we're not at all unhappy about the portion size. We both ordered the Classic breakfast looking for the homey meal, so we can't comment too much on the more sophisticated and trendy offerings. Our breakfast was good, what we expected, but not sensational. The lovely K said her highlight was the potatoes, whereas mine was the multigrain toast. I'd like to see a little more butter for me to apply and I'd like the toast to be a little hotter. Don't know if it's offered, but the option of a second piece of toast would be welcomed. I didn't look to be honest, I just assumed I would get two pieces. Our server Jessie was attentive, but let us be, which is always a fine line. She seemed to sense when we were looking for her which is great. We would definitely return, and be a bit more adventurous with our choices. Hot brunch spot Oeb Breakfast is now open with location #5 in Metro Vancouver, at Willowbrook Mall. I had to renew my passport to come out here to Langley. Depending on traffic, if you're coming here from Vancouver, you should budget for an hour drive. Oeb continues to expand ... 'to infinity & beyond.' OK not quite so Buzz Lightyear, but maybe by 2099? With so much variety & creative brunch options, one can't go wrong walking into Oeb. I've tried several menu items since 2019 & I've never looked back, thoroughly enjoying all of them. My definate favs in no particular order are - Duck Confit, French Toast Trifle, Waffles, Breakfast Poutines - Lobster Scramble or Soul in a Bowl or Confit De Canard (Oebs twist on poutine with their fries cooked in duck fat are on point), Korean Bulgogi & Forestière. We finally made our brunch stop here over the weekend. I had added myself to the waitlist thanks to Yelp. The wait time was about 40 minutes. It is better to dine earlier as peak wait times can be over 100 mins. We were seated at our table once we checked in with the hostess. Menus and water was dropped off. I decided on the duck club sandwich with salad. My family ordered the classic breakfast and crab benny. We also ordered orange juice and raspberry ginger beer for drinks. Drinks and food arrived after a short wait. My duck sandwich was tasty. I did find the sandwich and the salad to be heavy on the sauce and dressing. I should have asked for dressing on the side for my salad. My raspberry ginger beer was a refreshing twist on the classic. Overall, it was a tasty meal. The service was great. The bright decor theme is based on a chicken egg yolk because everything is golden yellow and fluorescent oranges & reds! The walls, the chairs and of course, the food! Breakfast has been elevated up to Brunch level. Where else can you get a Mimosa Sampler Flight? You need to get here early on the weekends or put yourself on the on-line waiting list because it gets plenty busy in here. Don't worry about parking because OEB is appended to the Willowbrook Mall with an outside entrance, so the entire mall parking lot is yours. On a Sunday morning, with a lull in the action at around 9am, we were able to get a 2 seater in the middle of the floor with views of the bar and open kitchen. My wife wanted to try the Iced Con Panna coffee drink, while I went with a plain OJ, though I did see a Flight of 4 Mimosas go by. For our meals, I went with the Lobster & Shrimp Crepe which was stuffed with lobster meat, tiny little shrimp, scrambled eggs and covered in Hollandaise sauce. She went with the Threesome (eyebrow raise) which was more of a 3x2, since it had a pair of eggs, pair of French Toast slices, pair of Maple Pork Bangers and 2 tiny balls of butter (raise other eyebrow). She also got a side bowl of fresh fruit (strawberries & blueberries) for her french toast, while I got a side of Canadian Bacon. The Canadian Bacon in the States is very different and is more a round piece of cured ham. Mine was more like a slice of salty pork roast and I really liked it. This was a really good breakfast/brunch meal and the service was great. There were so many servers, managers and kitchen staff keeping the place humming and the food rolling out. Apparently, you can also take home 30 fresh eggs for CAD$20 from their local egg farm straight from the chickens! That's a breath of fresh air considering the recent price spike for eggs in the US where it reached up to USD$10/dozen. read more

We came in with family and we were all satisfied with what we ordered. I recommend the Breakfast Poutines like Chasing Chickens and Lobster Scramble. You can't go wrong with breakfast classics as well like the Classic Breakfast and French Toast Trifle. Presentation is very nice as well! Pav, our server is so efficient and very knowledgable. Eloquent and has a pleasing personality. We came in on their grand opening and they were fully packed! Yet, the food came out at a very reasonable time. Kudos to the kitchen crew. One Expensive Breakfast... I read up a lot of reviews about this chain and meant to see how it is myself. Finally got a chance to do so when I was doing some shopping at Willbrook Mall in Langley. This place is conveniently located on the outside of the mall alongside with other new restaurants, plentiful of parkings available. Greeted by the hostess and led to the table, it's a very causal layout and atmosphere with an open kitchen concept to one side. Here were the food I ordered; 1. Chai latte. Pretty generic 2. Threesome (2 eggs, bangers, pancakes/crepes). I think I got a little too excited with the name of this dish I forgot to read the menu carefully. This dish literally got my 2 eggs and sausage shrunk where my ego flattened like a pancake. For $20, look at the picture and someone tell me what's so special about it? (It's not the money but the worth as in quality or its presentation) 3. Side of bacons (2 slices $5), side of smoked salmon (2 pieces $7), side of berries ($3). No comment 4. Canadian lobster and shrimp crepe ($25) + add caviar $28 extra. The lobster shrimp crepe was cold and almost a joke, literally only ate less than half of it. The caviar was even a bigger joke! I specifically asked the server what's the caviar quality because I am a bit picky with them caviars and informed it was high quality, in the end it's no quality and probably would've enjoyed a can of caviar from T&T for $10 more (Facepalm). Overall, the place was somewhat spacious and well ventilated. A very casual ambiance which offers comfort and welcomes all type of diners. The food did take awhile to come out, perhaps that hindered the actual quality a bit? (I know I try to find an excuse to justify $120 for this breakfast lol) I personally don't think the quality match the price. And for the love of food, put a bit of efforts in the presentation too (maybe that's what's missing? Or maybe not, that probably an extra $10 lol). In conclusion, there are countless breakfast and brunch places everywhere and more to come. I think it's fair and safe to say, better food and price in other places. Once again all the hype and high ratings are just from the boujie wannabes right? Lol Anyways, my excitement in always wanting to try out OEB became nothing but a disappointment and One Expensive Breakfast. Another quiet gem, Oeb. The staff is friendly and beautiful, as well as attentive while never feeling pushy or intrusive. That's not something you can teach, so the management is doing a great job recognizing and rewarding those "soft" skills. The restaurant itself is sparkling clean and nicely styled, roomy and efficient. Now, the food. Excellent. Simple as that. My first taste was the pierogis and duck with run-free eggs and gaufrettes (crispy waffle fries) on the side.
