Sausage and chilli pizza, Rigatoni Boscaiola
Tiff R.

The staff was very friendly and seated us right away. It was happy hour and we ordered the focaccia and wine. The focaccia came out warm and buttery topped with fresh shredded parmesan cheese. Would go back just for the focaccia. We also ordered the sausage and chilli pizza that can feed more than one person and the rigatoni Boscaiola. The rigatoni had mushrooms, prusciotto and sundried tomatoes but didn't have any sauce ( it tasted oil based). We had alot of food leftover to pack for a party of two. Love the lively ambience and avoiding the crowds during happy hour times. We also ordered the tiramisu, it tasted more like a sponge cake than an authentic tiramisu (probably wouldn't order again).

Margherita Pizza with Meatballs

You think for $40 (tax and tip) they could add a few more meatballs. You get one tiny meatball per slice. Overall pretty weak pizza, but thats how it goes in Vancouver.

Meat ball sandwich with kale salad

Came here for a quick lunch. I had a meatball sandwich with kale salad. Every ingredients are delicious. However, the whole sandwich only had two meatballs and with the side kale salad, the total comes to $24 before the tax and tips. it's a bit pricey for the value. However, the food tastes good.

This is a local joint near Kit Beach. It is not cheap!!! The space is cozy with indoor and outdoor seating with patio heaters. Given that they managed to fit a lot of people in the space, it is a bit loud. I would describe the food as having two highlights: the wood fired pizzas and the creative pastas. They also make their own in-house sausage, which you will see in some of the dishes, and we tried it on one of their pizzas. On special was a spaghetti with njuda and kabocha squash and mushrooms. The dishes have a homemade feel and are not run of the mill. Some of the prices are due to a larger portion of burrata cheese. For drinks, they have rotating beers on tap plus wine list and cocktails. Food came fairly fast. Staff is friendly but not super experienced or polished. A good place for a date night if in the area.

Nice place for hh. Food and drinks are decent. I ordered 2 red wine and meatball cad$45 including tips. Staffs are friendly and efficient. Came on Friday around 3pm. Not crowded. Seated almost immediately. Drinks and food came quickly. Will come back

Checked another restaurant off my list! Service and ambience was great. I orecchiette with sausage, rapini and fennel seeds. My friend got the mushroom pizza I believe! The food is a bit pricey, and the pasta was lacking salt in my opinion. Not to discredit the restaurant at all, I would definitely go back to try something else! We also got a tiramisu to share and that was divine. Chefs kiss!

Delicious food and great service! This location is our go-to spot - It's clean, spacious, and there usually isn't much of a wait. We started with the chicken liver crostini which was packed with flavour and just so good. I'll probably be reordering this dish every time I come back! For our mains we almost always pick something off of their daily special menu. This time, the pasta was orecchiette with roasted corn and double smoked bacon and the pizza was a tomato base with roasted garlic, red onion, and double smoked bacon. The pasta didn't have too much bacon but it was still delicious and was a pretty light dish. The pizza had a nice smokey flavour and was my preferred main of the night. Over our many visits, Nook has been consistent in their food and service. We always finish our meal feeling satisfied and happy, which is why this place has easily become one of our favourite spots to enjoy some nice Italian food.

Chili flakes and chili oil

I've heard good things about Nook so for dinner, N wanted Italian so I suggested we give them a try. They have three other locations in town (Kitsilano, downtown (West End) and North Vancouver). Didn't realize they also run Tavola and Oddfish. This one is located close to Ophelia Kitchen and The Flying Pig. We dropped in on a Friday evening (around 7:00pm) and it was packed. Write your name on the wait list. Luckily, we only waited about 20 minutes to grab a table. I will give them props for not rushing you once you've been seated. Service is friendly and they're constantly coming by to refill waters. Food also comes out surprisingly fast. The menu consists of salad, crostini, antipasto, house made pastas and pizza. They dropped off a bottle of chili oil and chili flakes for the table. - Aperol spritz ($13.00) - Ginbucha ($13.00) - ddn't find this good at all. Barely tasted any 'booch. A waste of $ if you ask me. - Arugula ($16.00) - salad was decent but something you could make at home. Small portion. - Orecchiette ($25.00) - sounded great on paper but flavours were bland. N thought it needed salt. We used the chili oil to add some flavour. The rapini was mushy and we didn't taste any fennel. Again, a small bowl of pasta for the price. - Gnocchi ($25.00) - this was the best dish that we ordered. Gnocchi was soft and pillowy. Meatballs were moist and flavourful. Don't get the hype on Nook. Pricey, average Italian food. 2.5 stars.

I'm so glad my 400th goes to them ! We used to like Nook now we absolutely LOVE 'em ! ! Paul the bartender is just one of the many reasons . I accidentally spilled my wine towards the end of the meal and Paul replaced the glass right away . Talk about great service ! And the foccacia , it just has to be THE BEST in town ! ! Just imagine if the foccacia is already THAT good their pastas and pizzas must be phenomenal and they totally are ! ! ! Hands down the best meal of 2022 . So far .

Went to Nook this week and they are open for dine-in. There's a few tables outside as well that are nice before the sun sets and becomes too cold. I think they're doing a great job in keeping everyone safe. They process one group at a time, ensuring everyone sanitizes and checks temperature. Their menus are also paper one time use. All the protocols helped lessen the anxiety. They usually take reservations online for a few seating times a night but also take walk-ins. I called a few minutes ahead just to make sure there was room before paying for parking. The place felt pretty busy (i.e. there were many groups waiting to check in for their reservations) but definitely was not at full capacity. There was plenty of space between every table inside as well. The food was amazing as expected! I absolutely love their pasta :) The servers were also very friendly. I had a really enjoyable time!

Normally I'm not super fond of pizza, especially if the crust is really doughy. But I was so happy to have tried this cozy pizza and pasta place !! Everything here is simple and fresh. The arugula salad had big slices of shaved parmesan that melded with the dressing. The gnocchi looked like little plump pillows surrounded by baby meatballs. The meatballs were a tad on the spicy side, but did not detract from the taste. I really also liked the prosciutto pizza with arugula and roast garlic. They definitely did not skimp on the ingredients. Service is fast and friendly. Price is very reasonable. Seating doesn't take reservations and can get crowded at peak hours, but worth the wait. Street parking is paid.

Special of the day: basil pesto, prosciutto, goat cheese, olives. Perfect.

Went at 4pm and they were not busy at all. We opted to sit outside to enjoy the remaining good weather before the winter rains. We ordered a happy hour beer (lager) for $6 and the cheese bread for an appetizer. We ordered what the waitress recommended, half meat lovers and half Montreal smoked meats. The pizza was very tasty - crispy light crust and delicious flavorful meats. The sauce wasn't overly seasoned and was just the right amount. Very good pizza and not too expensive.

Service was terrific and we enjoyed our experience immensely. We enjoyed wine for me, bourbon for him, shared the fantastic foccacia to start (note it's large enough for at least 4 people, we took some back to the hotel). I had the smaller portion of spaghetti with clams he had the 100 layer lasagna. (that takes them 3 days to make) The spaghetti was clearly handmade, and it was way richer than I expected it to be, so I was glad I got the smaller portion. Very delicious! I got a small bite of the lasagna and thought it was very meaty and tasty. He polished it off, but did say that the charred topping took over tastewise a bit too much. Despite being stuffed, we found ourselves wanting to linger, so we ordered the caramel pot de creme, and Irish Whiskey for him, and a dessert tea drink for me with blueberry & breakfast tea, amaretto, grand marnier and cinnamon. All super delicious and again very rich! To top off our fine experience at this awesome restaurant, because it was Mother's Day and I'm a Mom, they gave me a wrapped box to take with us. Turned out to be a very pretty bluebell large mug. Super nice, thank you Nightingale!

Ordered two pizzas from here on Uber Eats…read more My friend and I wanted to check out the local deep dish scene, and this seemed to be one of the few places that offered it, so we decided to give it a try. I didn't have very high expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised by the pizzas here. They offer a variety of veggie and meat pizzas that can be made with regular crust or deep dish style. We ordered a small deep dish margharita ($19.99) and a medium deep dish butter chicken ($23.99) pizza. Both weren't true deep dish pizzas, but the crust was nice and thick. I'd recommend the pizzas here to anyone who likes a breadier crust. My only minor complaint is that the pizzas didn't have enough sauce to complement the thick crust. The pizzas kept well for leftovers too. They tasted just as good the next day heated up in our toaster oven.

Taste is okay/sub/average considering the price but very unlikely I will return.
