What I ordered

Rachelle was the best server, kind, fast and accommodating! The food, Casa di amore (seafood in red sauce baked with mozzarella) was the best tasting pasta I have ever had! One order feed both my wife and I with leftovers at $39! 6 out of 5 stars!!

It's been many years since I last came back to Italian Tomato, and I'm really glad I did. One thing I absolutely love here is the portion size -- they're generous, satisfying, and exactly what you want from a solid Italian spot. I was a little sad to find out they don't give out pens or any kind of reward if you finish your dish like Anton's does, but the food definitely holds its own. One major plus it's much easier to get seating here, and the fact that you can make reservations is a huge win. It is a little pricier than Anton's, but honestly, that didn't stop me I ended up coming here twice in one week, and yes, I finished my dishes both times. I'm really glad there's another place where you can actually get a table without waiting forever. My only wish is that they were open a little longer. Other than that, solid experience and definitely worth a visit if you're craving big, comforting plates of pasta.

Holy smokes the portions at this place! Definitely come in hungry and expect to take leftovers home. We were here on vacation and really enjoyed the quick walk from our hotel to come to dinner. Service was great too!

Better than I remembered it to be! It's been awhile since I was here. Love the variety of pastas they have on their menu - Sugo Di Pomodoro (Red Sauce), Alla Panna (Cream Sauce), Sugo Di Pomodoro Cremoso (Rosé Sauce), Con Aglio e Olio. Although ingredients are about the same for most sauce bases, it tastes very good and homemade. Seafood might be smaller but it can do for its price. Pasta are cooked perfectly al dente. They offer half and full portions with very little price difference so definitely worth getting the full portions. Service is good and quick. Call in advance to make reservations as lines can get long.

Marco Polo spaghetti

The Marco Polo spaghetti was amazing. Generous portions, great ambience, and I enjoyed every moment. Our server Fero was very attentive and did a good job of letting us know it was available.

The white sangria was absolutely delicious.

The service was great and you can tell that the staff that we encountered really loves their job and interacting with customers. The food portions are huge, the wife and I had bariatric surgery a little over 2.5years now so we were able to order one meal and a cocktail each. We were both full and had enough to take home and have another meal the next night. The ambiance is cozy and not overly loud, the dining area is spacious. The decor though looks dated but not bad. The price even in this economy was respectable, I recommend stopping by if you're looking for Italian cuisine.

I wanted to give it 4 stars but after going through my review again I settled on 3. This restaurant has made a good impression because of the excellent service, from the time I called in to make a reservation, to the greeting when my party entered the front door, to the server who helped us with the menu and made us feel welcomed and well cared for. I came here with 3 friends and, after we saw how big the pasta dishes were, we ordered 3 items to share: the Della Casa salad (large), the Toscana with penne (full), and the Alla Creola with whole wheat spaghetti (full). Both the pasta dishes were great, they were hot, tasty, pasta were cooked to the right consistency. They were so good we emptied the plates quickly. The salad was a little bit disappointing, it was fresh and tasty, but it was much smaller than we expected. It also had little tomato, cucumber, and peppers; most of the salad was lettuce and it was not worth the $22 cost. The server recommended this particular salad to us when she found out we were sharing, she said the other ones would be too small to split amongst 4 people. I also find the bread disappointing. It was cold, lack texture, and uninviting. Another reason I lowered the rating was the difficulty in finding parking. We arrived around 6:20 p.m. on a Saturday evening and there were only reserved spots belonging to other closed businesses left, we were not sure if we could park there so we circled around 3 times before we found parking.

Food was amazing! Large portions a tasty food. Our server was knowledgeable on vegetarian options and had great suggestions. The ambiance of the restaurant is nice, big restaurant and no wait time at the time we went.

spaghetti bolognese & chicken parmesan

We enjoyed our recent visit here after not having been for a very long time. We had wonderful attentive service from our server. Ordered the Italian feast which offered 3 choices of 4 items - opted for the Spaghetti Bolognese, Chicken Parm, and Fettucine Alfredo (other option was Lasagne). Also added the meatball appy. The pastas tasted fantastic and properly sauced. The spaghetti noodles were thin, more like a cappelini, but was done to a nice al dente as was the fettucine. The Alfredo sauce was rich and creamy. The chicken was a good sized serving and cooked nicely. The meatball appy tasted great - fresh, tangy, marinara that was perfectly sopped up with the complimentary bread. Though a little rich at $6 per meatball. If you're looking for a place with classic Italian homestyle fare, then stop by Italian Tomato for your pasta cravings. We will definitely return to try the pizza!

Huge portions but lacking regular extra care. $10 for two sad looking meatballs? No thank you!

Great food and great service. Tables a little close together, but otherwise a 10! Chicken Bennie was wonderful.

The Story Cafe was one the few places that are close to the airport, open early in the morning, and have a high rating. The Story Cafe does live up to the good ratings! The restaurant was spacious with lovely vintage-like decors. The food portion was generous. We had their Fly Me to The Bennies with Salmon, Crab Cake Bennies, Egg In Purgatory, and Duck Confit Hash. All dishes were delicious. I had an oat mocha and to my surprise, there's a really good latte art, which is uncommon in metro Vancouver for drinks with oat milk. The service was normally good, no complaints! Highly recommend The Story Cafe for an early breakfast near the airport.

The Fly Me to the Bennies featured generous portions, with house-made hollandaise sauce over two poached eggs and arugula on English muffins. I was also able to request that my bacon be served on the side. The dish came with a small bowl of fresh fruit. The Beatles English Breakfast consisted of two eggs with a choice of bacon or sausage, a small side of baked beans, and toast. Everything was well prepared and satisfying. The place wasn't big, but it was very cosy with lots of vintage things around from an old vinyl player to an Underwood typewriter. Best for coupes to a max of four people. Service is warm and friendly. Parking is a bit tricky and consist of side street parking.
