We had a lovely dinner at Nook. The restaurant was quite busy so we had to wait 15mn outside until a table was available. The menu is rather small and I would have liked more options for the pasta for exemple. We ordered tonnarelli cacio pepe to share and it was so bland, barely had any taste of cheese. I have had this dish many times at restaurants in Europe and the pasta is usually so cheese and with fresh grounded pepper. I would not recommend this dish at Nook. The pizza on the other hand was delicious. We ordered the houseade sausage pizza and we were not disappointed. The pizza crust was perfect and the other ingredients nicely cooked. The dessert also deserve praise. Very good tiramisu and panna cotta. Service was quick. Hopefully they manage to do tastier pasta.

This charming and intimate trattoria offers authentic rustic pizza and pastas in a cozy, welcoming environment. The pizza is just like in Naples, with a thin center and poofy crust, perfectly sauced and cooked. A small but well-thought-out wine list focuses on Italian wines. Salted Caramel Chocolate Budino is a fabulous chocolate mousse-like dessert that goes great with an espresso. The servers are friendly and enthusiastic, and obviously enjoy what they are doing, which creates wonderful hospitality.

Limited menu for happy hour between 4pm and 5pm everyday. I wanted to get order pizza and checked with the server the decisions between prosciutto arugula and anchovy pizza. She asked how salty I can handle as anchovy is quite salty. So I ordered prosciutto as it's the less salty one. Then she said I can add anchovy on the prosciutto pizza - I don't get it. If anchovy is saltier than prosciutto and I ordered the less salty one and she said I can add anchovy on top? Totally doesn't make sense. There are situations to push for more sales but in this incident, totally not appropriate and unprofessional. Food arrive shortly after order. It's a relatively small space with the music it might be hard to talk.

Nook was good. We came here on a Saturday night, when we first got there it wasn't crowded. Later on it did start getting crowded and busy. Nook was a cute little restaurant. The decor was pretty. The service was prompt. Our waitress was nice and friendly. She had a bubbly personality. The food was good. We tried some new things and it was good. It didn't take long to come out. Everything is homemade--even the pasta and bread. I recommend coming here.

Amazing panna cotta and some to-go pasta!

It is always amazing to watch a well oiled machine run so efficiently, and happy. Every single staff member was greeting customers, and even each other with a smile, it was awesome! The excellent culture of this place was noticeable as a customer. The chef tossing fresh pizzas, the bar tender making drinks and helping with appetizers, and the main chef making tons of delicious pasta. This is the only place we ate twice during our visit to Vancouver!! It was a packed house both times we dined here, there were 5-10 guest consistently waiting for tables, and the staff handled it all extremely well! The food was top notch! Highly recommended the panna cotta for desert and this great place in general!

I was pleased to try this place with my friends. We had a nice girls night and I was not exactly sure what to expect, but there were a lot of unique items on the menu. The flavours of the food was well balanced. The Whipped Ricotta Crostini was delightful as it had a Nice balance between savoury and sweet. The roasted hazelnuts were a nice touch. The House made sausage pizza was surprisingly nice and light. There was a nice equilibrium of veggies and meat. My favourite was the Rigatoni. Between the three of us, this was a substantial amount of food and I will definitely comeback just to try other menu items.

My friends and I recently shared a few dishes here, and while the flavors were truly impressive,…read morethe portion sizes left us wanting more. We started with the complimentary bread, which was a total highlight. Each person gets a fresh slice that has an incredible crust and a soft, pillowy center--dipping it into the oil and vinegar was the perfect way to start the meal. For our mains, the Gnocchi Asparagi e Funghi was my favorite - the gnocchi themselves were clearly handmade and had a great texture that didn't feel heavy. The earthy mushrooms and asparagus worked really well with the parmesan cream, which was rich but didn't overpower the other flavors. The Squid Ink Linguine ai Frutti di Mare was also solid; the lobster bisque base gave it a deep, savory saltiness that coated the clams, prawns, and scallops perfectly without making the dish feel too "fishy." We also tried the Candele Al Ragù D'Anatra. The duck ragu was tender and savory, and the combination of the parmesan fondue and aged asiago added a nice, sharp saltiness that made every bite really satisfying. Everything we ate was seasoned perfectly and tasted fresh, it's just a shame the portions were so small because the flavors were definitely there. The service was excellent and very attentive; I especially appreciated that they were constantly on top of refilling my water throughout the night. The ambience also hit the right note, making it a great spot for a night out. However, the portions are definitely on the smaller side and aren't super filling. Even though every dish tasted amazing, we weren't full by the end of the meal, so it's something to keep in mind if you're arriving with a big appetite.

The seafood ravioli was tasty and I'd have it again. The pappardelle was decent although didn't have as much depth or complexity of flavour as it could've. The bruschetta, which was kind of like an open faced sandwich - a spread on bread with some prosciutto on top (no tomatoes in case that's what you're expecting!), was pretty meh and I wouldn't order it again. Service was nice enough. It's a cute, cozy spot in Gastown. Overall, it was just fine but given the abundance of great Italian restaurants in town I probably would go elsewhere when craving pasta.

The restaurant was cute, cozy, and could seat us right away so we decided to give it a try. We got the poached pear salad and enjoyed it! The pears were delicious and a very refreshing salad. It did come with burrata on top which was a bit disappointing since it wasn't gooey at all. For our mains, we split the pesto rigatoni and the special which was also a rigatoni with white wine, capers, shrimp and lemon. First off, the noodles are delicious on both dishes. They are clearly handmade in the best way possible. Very tender, delicate, and almost melt in your mouth. The pesto dish was perfect but again the burrata on top was disappointing since it was sort of tough/dry and not gooey. The special dish was very good but the lemon was quite strong. Initially it was a bit too much but it did grow on you over time and I did like the dish. We ended with a tiramisu and while it was delicious, there wasn't much of the bread/cake/cookie part as it was mostly cream. Overall, it was fun to try a new place but I expected a more for the price point. For $35 per plate plus salad and dessert it was a very expensive dinner and we weren't full.

We also tried the branzino, which was super clean and fresh, cooked perfectly. What I liked most is that it feels like a proper dining experience without being pretentious. The room, the service, the pacing--it all comes together really well. Definitely a place I'd go back to, especially for a slower dinner with good wine and great food.

With so many new Italian restaurants popping up locally and the competition being quite strong, I think at this price point there are other places you might also want to explore. That said, Acquafarina is still a solid choice with a great vibe, good food, and a welcoming atmosphere. I'd consider coming back, especially for a relaxed evening out.

I had secured a weekday lunch reservation a few weeks prior in anticipation, which I highly recommend. The staff was incredibly friendly when we arrived, and we were seated moments later. To start I ordered the Fried Cauliflower and Sourdough bread based on other recommendations I had seen, which both lived up to the hype. My wife and I had to stop ourselves before the main course, the rigatoni alla bolognese, arrived at our table. It was perfectly portioned, still steaming as we devoured the last few bites. Our waitress was even kind enough to provide us some other recommendations in the neighborhood to try during our trip, as it was our first time in the city.
