Happy hour was great!! We ordered 3 pastas (the gnocchi, the meatballs and the cacio e pepe spaghetti) as well as the prosciutto and burrata. Everything came out flavoural and the pastas could be a bit larger in portion size but overall reasonable! We thought the cacio e pepe was a bit too salty. The meatballs were my favorites - although too bite-sized for my liking. Everyone at the table loved the burrata, and esp the crispy bread the came with it. Would come back another time!

The pasta is cook al dente to my liking. Generally food is simple and perfect. Italian essence so don't expect super complex gimmicky food. Service is good, responsive and attentive. Ambience is great, not exactly romantic though. I also family friendly if you go early. My go to pasta place in Vancouver Meatball pasta - excellent sauce, taste the fresh tomatoes Halibut - beautifully seasoned and cooked Panna cotta - light and creamy, but presentation is a bit basic

We were staying right next door to Tavola at the Times Square Suites hotel. One of the employees suggested we eat here, and not only did we have one dinner, we ordered out a second night. We sat at the bar on a Monday night and Zach the bartender took good care of us. We ordered the crostini special of the day, which was a wild mushroom preparation, and the pear and gorgonzola crostini. Zach suggested instead of a whole order of each, we order two each if we were going to have a meal as well. They were both wonderful! We then ordered the arugula salad. It was exactly as stated on the menu; arugula, olive oil, lemon, and parmesan. There was a lot of arugula and felt it could have one other type of lettuce with it to cut through the bitterness. The star of the night was the Brick Chicken with roasted garlic au jus. We usually never order chicken out, but read so much about how good it was. It was so tender and juicy that it was the reason why we ordered it for carryout again the second time. It takes 30 minutes to prepare and they tell you that. Our carryout service was ordered on Saturday at around 8:30pm and the host called to let us know it would be 30 minutes for the chicken. The order was ready at exactly when he said. This time we ordered the special crostinis with zucchini and fresh corn and they were equally as delicious as the others we ordered at the beginning of the week. I highly recommend this place, especially if you are staying right next door.

Found this spot with all the haole people outside for an Italian spot so knew it had some weight to it. 5/5 just for the service team cause your boi showed up 30 mins late and they still fit us in (at the bar) but can't complain on that. The ragu ho dam was it hot, mean, and sweet just like my gf after I piss her off. The crostini and gnocchi were good but nothing crazy. Great casual date spot for you and your SO. Portions look small but fill you up quicker than you think. Bulk approved

We had some in our group of seven (five adults and two kids) who at the last minute wanting Italian food. So, we found Tavola and called. They were able to seat us for early dinner (6:00) in the enclosed and heated patio. It was a great space in a beautiful restaurant. The service was outstanding. Just superb. Friendly and the perfect amount of helpful and responsive. The food was excellent and executed perfectly. We enjoyed everything we had. We will definitely be back next time we visit Vancouver. (And I post this as a second generation Italian-American.)

Tavola is one of our favorite restaurants in Vancouver. This is our third trip in the past few years to Vancouver - and each trip we've also made a trip to Tavola! Tonight's food was exceptionally good, even compared to our prior visits. It's was a memorable meal that will bring us back on our next trip. Here's the order: - Fresh Burrata with Prociutto - my husband and son devoured this. My son said the burrata was exceptionally good. - Eggs and white anchoivies - always good. Often times a whole anchovy filet will be too much for me, but the white anchovies they use are not overly fishy and they add a good flavor to the perfectly made eggs. - Bibb lettuce Salad - nice and fresh - Campanelle mushrooms, prociutto and lemon - if you love mushrooms and fresh pasta, this is the perfect dish for you. 26oz. Dry Aged, Prime, Rib Steak and arugula salad - this was the highlight of the meal. Perfectly seasoned, perfectly grilled to medium rare, and I like the sprinkle of sea salt on top. I think it's better than steaks we get in steakhouses. Affogato - the decaf coffee was a little too bitter, but it was still a good dessert. Tiramisu - a standard tiramisu

Neighborhood Italian restaurant on corner of Robson and Denman. Good Crostini and Ravioli. Sticky toffee pudding is a must "share" plate. Make sure you make reservations. This restaurant tends to filled up quickly.

Quaint atmosphere, the staff helped us with seating right, very polite staff. My wife had the rigatoni pork ragu which was delicious, great flavor. I had the pasta off of the special menu with braised beef short rib in a sort au jus that was amazing, the dish was a savory comfort food that drove home an epicurean experience. We topped our dinner off with the sticky toffee pudding, absolute home run. If ever back in Vancouver we're stopping there for another fine dining adventure.

Saturday night dinner with party of 9. As others have said, really noisy inside. Nice atmosphere, good staff. Somewhat of a downer were the high prices. All dishes shared: - Chickpea crostini, walnut gorgonzola crostini, liver crostini. In order of preference, we liked the liver, then walnut, then chickpea. First 2 were very flavorful. Chickpea one wasn't too spectacular, nothing jumped out at us for flavor. - Daily special salad with pears, chicory, kale, hazelnuts, pecorino cheese, and balsamic sauce. The salad was just ok to us. Seemed a bit bitter. - Bigoli pasta with pork and fennel meatballs, in a tomato sauce. Really good, nice chew on the bigoli noodles, very handmade quality. Great strong fennel taste in the meatballs. - Ricotta gnocchi, with brown sage butter and hazelnuts. Good. - Brick chicken with roasted garlic jus. This dish had great flavor from the garlic. We got 2 orders. On one of them, I noted that some of the chicken thigh area had a texture like somewhat overcooked chicken breast. Odd. The other one was somewhat better. - Sticky toffee pudding. This was just as people said - very yummy!

I don't get the hype here... nothing was amazing nor even close to a 4 or 5 star restaurant. The pastas were meh and bland: Campanelle Mushrooms (2.5/5) - no flavor whatsoever. I just felt like I was eating pasta and mushroom in olive with no seasoning... what?!?! The only flavors were the sun dried tomatoes lol Off menu item - spicy Amatriciana (3/5) - I probably spelt this wrong... but it was recommended off the secret menu. The crunchy pork thing was pretty delicious, but other than that... nothing special. The crostinis were okay, but not recommended: Chicken liver spread (2.5/5) - it was good, but has a strong liver after taste. I think this might be an acquired taste. Walnut pesto (3/5) - couldn't really taste anything other than the Gorgonzola... needed a stronger honey flavor to balance it out Basically, I don't know why people are raving about this place. Am I missing something? There are better places at this price point. I'm sorry, honestly really wanted to like it - but just not good

Clockwise: pork cheek pasta, scallops, kale salad, casarecce with meatballs

The service was also great, with multiple people checking in on us. The corkage, at $20, is very reasonable and the restaurant even comp'ed our tiramisu! We will miss it once it is gone. The food was quite decent. I thought the prices were a bit inflated for just pasta, but the portion size was pretty massive -- most of us took leftovers to go. The sauces in general were a bit bland and the pasta was definitely cooked to beyond al dente, which isn't my preference for dried pasta. That said, the toppings were generous, especially for the linguine crab that I ordered (would highly recommend!). Come by before they close permanently!

The veal was juicy and perfectly seasoned and paired with the creamy pasta was perfect. We ended with the panacotta which was fresh, fruity and light! Will definitely be back!!

My friends and I recently shared a few dishes here, and while the flavors were truly impressive,…read morethe portion sizes left us wanting more. We started with the complimentary bread, which was a total highlight. Each person gets a fresh slice that has an incredible crust and a soft, pillowy center--dipping it into the oil and vinegar was the perfect way to start the meal. For our mains, the Gnocchi Asparagi e Funghi was my favorite - the gnocchi themselves were clearly handmade and had a great texture that didn't feel heavy. The earthy mushrooms and asparagus worked really well with the parmesan cream, which was rich but didn't overpower the other flavors. The Squid Ink Linguine ai Frutti di Mare was also solid; the lobster bisque base gave it a deep, savory saltiness that coated the clams, prawns, and scallops perfectly without making the dish feel too "fishy." We also tried the Candele Al Ragù D'Anatra. The duck ragu was tender and savory, and the combination of the parmesan fondue and aged asiago added a nice, sharp saltiness that made every bite really satisfying. Everything we ate was seasoned perfectly and tasted fresh, it's just a shame the portions were so small because the flavors were definitely there. The service was excellent and very attentive; I especially appreciated that they were constantly on top of refilling my water throughout the night. The ambience also hit the right note, making it a great spot for a night out. However, the portions are definitely on the smaller side and aren't super filling. Even though every dish tasted amazing, we weren't full by the end of the meal, so it's something to keep in mind if you're arriving with a big appetite.

The seafood ravioli was tasty and I'd have it again. The pappardelle was decent although didn't have as much depth or complexity of flavour as it could've. The restaurant was cute, cozy, and could seat us right away so we decided to give it a try. We got the poached pear salad and enjoyed it! The pears were delicious and a very refreshing salad. It did come with burrata on top which was a bit disappointing since it wasn't gooey at all. For our mains, we split the pesto rigatoni and the special which was also a rigatoni with white wine, capers, shrimp and lemon. First off, the noodles are delicious on both dishes. They are clearly handmade in the best way possible. Very tender, delicate, and almost melt in your mouth. The pesto dish was perfect but again the burrata on top was disappointing since it was sort of tough/dry and not gooey. The special dish was very good but the lemon was quite strong. Initially it was a bit too much but it did grow on you over time and I did like the dish. We ended with a tiramisu and while it was delicious, there wasn't much of the bread/cake/cookie part as it was mostly cream. Overall, it was fun to try a new place but I expected a more for the price point. For $35 per plate plus salad and dessert it was a very expensive dinner and we weren't full.
