Service is observant and efficient but not overbearing. The food is very generous, the spaghetti cooked perfect with a rich flavourful meat sauce with chunks of meat. The vibes here are impeccable! The cozy ambiance, lighting, and decor make it feel like a family restaurant, and it was the perfect location for our party of 8. The service was also great, with multiple people checking in on us. The corkage, at $20, is very reasonable and the restaurant even comp'ed our tiramisu! We will miss it once it is gone. The food was quite decent. I thought the prices were a bit inflated for just pasta, but the portion size was pretty massive -- most of us took leftovers to go. The sauces in general were a bit bland and the pasta was definitely cooked to beyond al dente, which isn't my preference for dried pasta. The place was busy, loud and lively. It wasn't necessarily the best place to have a good conversation with a friend because of the volume but the vibes feel like a fun family restaurant which is also a good experience for a Friday night. We got the linguine puttanesca which was tangy and a little bland but with the olives and shrimp the dish finished up well. The spaghetti carbonara was perfect. Creamy but not too heavy I wish it had more bacon but it was delicious all around. The daily special veal was also amazing. The veal was juicy and perfectly seasoned and paired with the creamy pasta was perfect. We ended with the panacotta which was fresh, fruity and light! Will definitely be back!! read more

Went for a get together dinner with a group of friends and we had a great night! Service was great, staff were educated on the menu, specials and drinks. The drinks are incredibly affordable here, on par to any other place's happy hour pricing even. The amaretto spritz and espresso martini were especially delicious! I got a sangria for myself and they had 3 options (rosé, white or red) and I got the rosé sangria it was sooo good. They also allow you to bring your own bottle with corkage fee of $20. There was free bread which was nice and I really enjoyed the marinara dip for it. The portions for the pasta were huge and a majority of us packed the rest of it to go. I got the penne michelangelo (penne, peas, chicken, sundried tomatoes) and my partner got the spaghetti carbonara and both were so tasty. The desserts were really good too, we were all so full by the end of the night but decided to split a tiramisu amongst ourselves just to cap it off and it was really good, lots of mascarpone. The restaurant itself has a nice ambience, lots of chatter and a nice view. I do highly reccomend a reservation since it was packed when we came at 8pm (with reso). Amazing hidden gem right on Robson street. This was my 3rd time here and it never fails to impress. Came here with a group of 8 on Saturday night (we had a reso) and it was really really busy! Most likely because they will be closing the restaurant in May. We loved all the food and the cocktails were amazing and affordable! We had a fantastic time and brought our own bottles of wine (the corkage fee is $20). Thank you for the last 30 years of service! And thank you to all the lovely servers! I'm pretty picky about Italian food and I have no complaints about this spot. The service was excellent. No forced cheer here, just an efficient and effective waitress. Fresh ground pepper and Parmesan was offered for the pastas. My husband's truffle stuffed pasta was delicious. Despite having a cream sauce it did not taste too heavy. I had a seafood pasta and it was really nice. The salinity of the capers and anchovies really shone through and the pasta itself had a great chew to it. My daughter loved her ragu and we also had a kale Caesar which was a nice fresh start to the meal. I didn't love the wine he chose (a local wine) but we're probably spoiled being from NorCal. The restaurant itself is upstairs but a lot of them were in this spot. Made for a nice view and more quiet atmosphere. Definitely would revisit this spot. read more

This was the best place for my sisters birthday dinner. Great food, great drinks, and a casual but elegant location. The restaurant is located on the second floor of the venue. It was right around dinner time but we were able to get a table right away without a reservation. The menu has a variety of options to choose from and a select handful of specialties for the day. They do give you complimentary bread with a flavorful dipping sauce, and do provide seconds. The salad was an appetizer, enough to split between a group. The side of bread with blue cheese truffle oil is a must, best eaten right away but very delicious. The pasta was a large portion and full of spices and the pasta was cooked just perfectly. Not pictured was the speciality that my sister got, shrimp and crab raviolis. She hadnt even chewed the first bite and she said it was the best ravioli ever and very happy with her choice. The sauce alone was amazing. Because we were celebrating a birthday I had asked for a tiramisu to be delivered and they even put a candle in it and sang to my sister. TL;DR: Poor service and food Came here on a Wednesday night around 8PM and was able to snag a table. It was very hot and humid in there, it was very uncomfortable. SERVICE: After we were seated, about 10 minutes later someone came and dropped off water and rushed off. We couldn't even get anyone's attention to place our order. So then another 10 minutes later, someone finally came to take our order. From then it took ~25 minutes for us to get our food and no one came to check on us in that time. FOOD: ~Complimentary bread and dipping sauce (2/5): Bread was flavorless. The sauce was COLD (not chilled). Very off putting ~Crab and lobster ravioli (3/5): The sauce was pretty good. The pasta was a little too al dente for me, and the filling was dense and didn't have a ton of crab/lobster flavor ~Duck Breast (1.5/5): Sauce and potatoes were good. This was a fantastic find during our (too-brief) visit to Vancouver. We were looking for an early pasta dinner, and stumbled upon this upstairs restaurant. The tiny door leading to the steep stairway gave my dining partner some pause, but we braved the stairs to find a cozy restaurant. We were immediately greeted and seated at an open window overlooking the street. After perusing too many great options on the menu, we settled on a shared plate of spaghetti ragu - it IS a spaghetti place, afterall - and a glass of Italian red to go along with our meal. Came for an early lunch with colleagues. First thing we noticed was the stairway leading up to the 2nd floor smelled faintly of pee..... kind of reminded me of late nights on the Granville strip, so not the best start. There was one other group that arrived in the restaurant around the same time but it was otherwise empty as it was quite early. We all wanted to try the ravioli lunch special but were told strangely that there were only 3 left so two of us had to pick something else. Seems odd that there were only 3 portions of a lunch special prepared for a large restaurant when it was 20 minutes after opening and no one else was seated, unless there's some unspoken rule about only allowing x number of specials per group to ensure other diners get to order it as well? It's never happened to me before. Food when it did arrive, was tasty - the crab linguine had a large portion but the crab being shredded into the pesto made it so I couldn't really taste any crab flavour (it was like more of the minced texture). The linguine vongole was also very large and lots of clams. The ravioli specials were beautifully presented. Service was okay, but we would have enjoyed a top up of water. I would probably come back only in a smaller group so no one is disappointed about not being able to order what we want. read more

The restaurant is on the 2nd floor. It's a cute place and feels quite welcoming and cozy. I looked around and noticed that the pasta dishes are large so we decided to not order appetizer. The server chatted happily with the other people around us but basically ignored us the entire time. He only came to get our order and give us our check at the end. The way he talked also came off as very condescending when we asked questions about the dishes. We didn't even finish our food because it was so mid. The mussels were good but not spectacular. The chicken in the Penne Michelangelo was so dry. The crab in the Linguini Crab tasted like cardboard. The dishes were very boring. We ended up taking it home but even then we couldn't bring ourselves to finish it. We got SO MUCH better pasta the next day at Ask for Luigi's just ~2 km away in Chinatown. Wishes do come true! We came back for dinner the next night to Zeffirelli's, after a whole day tour in Victoria. We got back at 9:30 p.m. hungry and exhausted....knowing Zeffirelli's was open till 11 we walked over after being dropped off by our tour bus driver. Hubby and I split a spaghetti ragu and a golden beet salad. Both were delicious and hit the spot. The spaghetti is as great as it looks! Sauce and pasta were wonderful. Tip to the line chefs: need to look over the greens before serving salads though. Some of them were yellowing, dry, and notably older leaves in their spring mix. Eduardo was a GREAT server, kind and genuinely caring---even that late at night! Quiet dining room for our late night dinner, just two other parties enjoying the evening by the window tables overlooking the Robson. Best views! Carbo-loading for an endurance event at its finest! Let me start by saying, "Bravo Zefferelli's!" My husband and I dropped in a few months ago (sorry for the late review) the night before I ran a half marathon, and had a wonderful dinner here! We chose to grab a couple of seats at the bar, which was perfect especially because the bartender, Arturo, was great! He even wrote me a little "Good luck!" message on our receipt. Here's what fueled me perfectly for my big race the next morning: *Spaghetti Pomodoro *Golden Beets Salad *Roasted Vegetables Plus, let's not forget the warm bread they serve with a nice tomato sauce plus a little side of olive oil we requested! Yes, give me all the carbs! Walk upstairs to the second floor, and find yourself in a popular, cozy warm, rustic restaurant with beautiful views out the window. Although lacking any type of acoustics olives ( it can be loud) it's truly an interesting spot. We had doesn't sound right a wonderful server, Zoe, who provided friendly efficient, and presentable excellent service . Very interesting things on the menu and the ability to switch around if you don't wish to eat pasta with your dish. A nice little side to bring to the table of marinated olives that are somehow totally delicious. I'm not even sure what they marinate them in that little dish of olives is a must try for $8. A country Italian loaf with indescribably delicious tomato sauce to dip in, and an eggplant Parmesan appetizer to split started our meal . The eggplant was a wonderful surprise in that rather than heavily breaded, soggy eggplant. It was grilled eggplant slices baked with their delicious tomato sauce with the mozzarella baked on top . The spaghetti carbonara was toothsome and delicious and the chicken marsala wonderful. I ordered a half liter of their house wine, which was a tasty light 13% alcohol. Italian wine. Our waitress was delightful. The service was prompt. Efficient and our entire meal was just delightful. Definitely give it a try. read more

I thought Zefferelli's was another Italian place, but I was wrong. Last week I went to eat at this restaurant. Let me tell you about my experience. I was instantly greeted with a warm, welcoming smile and a welcome. They took me to a table, and I was given the menu. The friendly waiter took my order. I ordered Spaghetti Carbonara and waited for my food patiently. The food came in about 30-40 minutes, but I'm telling you, it was worth the wait. I reached for the fork and took a bite. I was SHOCKED. Everything in the spaghetti tasted authentic & fresh. It was REAL spaghetti, not like those with grease everywhere! The best part about the spaghetti is that It's imported adequately from Italy, which gives that delicious smooth pasta. Also, The pasta there is cooked to perfection, and I highly recommend it. My tastebuds went crazy after eating the food with the right amount of oil being put into a pan. This restaurant has succeeded in being an excellent, classic & authentic place! I will be coming back soon with my family. It's an experience everyone needs to have. Prices: It can get expensive on the serving sizes. I recommend you check the prices before taking a family or another person. Trust me; the cost can get HUGE.
