Excellent food and wonderful service! Our family had a great experience and loved the ambiance.

My friends and I recently shared a few dishes here, and while the flavors were truly impressive, the portion sizes left us wanting more. We started with the complimentary bread, which was a total highlight. Each person gets a fresh slice that has an incredible crust and a soft, pillowy center--dipping it into the oil and vinegar was the perfect way to start the meal. For our mains, the Gnocchi Asparagi e Funghi was my favorite - the gnocchi themselves were clearly handmade and had a great texture that didn't feel heavy. The earthy mushrooms and asparagus worked really well with the parmesan cream, which was rich but didn't overpower the other flavors. The Squid Ink Linguine ai Frutti di Mare was also solid; the lobster bisque base gave it a deep, savory saltiness that coated the clams, prawns, and scallops perfectly without making the dish feel too "fishy." We also tried the Candele Al Ragù D'Anatra. The duck ragu was tender and savory, and the combination of the parmesan fondue and aged asiago added a nice, sharp saltiness that made every bite really satisfying. Everything we ate was seasoned perfectly and tasted fresh, it's just a shame the portions were so small because the flavors were definitely there. The service was excellent and very attentive; I especially appreciated that they were constantly on top of refilling my water throughout the night. The ambience also hit the right note, making it a great spot for a night out. However, the portions are definitely on the smaller side and aren't super filling. Sunday Lasagna Dinner I had made reservations online a few days a head for availability for the Italian Kitchen's Sunday night 100 layer lasagna dinner for $45. It was super easy and they sent reminders the day before and even the day off to remind you. Its a very central area, only a couple blocks from the Burrard Skytrain Station, just off of Robson Street. The restaurant inside and out side was lit up and decorated with a beautiful holiday vibe with fairy lights and ribbons. Even if you ended up sitting outside it was still very festive and warm thanks to the heat lamps. Once we were seated, the host took our jackets and gave us time to look through the menu. Our waiter (his name escapes me...) was great and attentive. Even if he was busy there was always someone coming around with water or asking how our meal was. The food: 100 Layer Lasagna Dinner Sundays - 3 course meal for $45 Rock Prawn Caesar Salad 100 Layer Lasagna Signature Zeppole I really enjoyed the Caesar Salad with the crunchy romaine, garlicky croutons and the rock prawns. Cooked and seasoned to perfection. There was was a sprinkling of crispy onions as well as tiny salt bombs of fried capers, which was amazing! The lasagna pasta sheets were so light and thin. The beef ragu layered with béchamel and the beautiful Bolognese rose sauce was filling. I asked for an extra piece of focaccia just to help slop up the Bolognese sauce on my plate. The zeppole (stuffed donut) was warm and filled with a decadent chocolate ganache which oozed out after you cut into it. The vanilla anglaise matched perfectly to help with that super rich chocolate ganache. 10/10 would order 50 of them if I had any more space in my stomach. Overall if you're looking for a great meal deal in a beautiful setting you should go and eat at the Italian Kitchen. There are upgrades to the meal or a wine pairing if that what you're into, but the food and service was fantastic. My only regret is that I should have taken a lactate pill a head of time. read more

Five stars for the immaculate service and tasty food. For starters, my friend and I were a block away and trying to figure out where the restaurant was. One of the staff happened to walk past us and overheard our conversation. She helped guide us to the restaurant and chatted with us briefly during the walk. I believe her name was Pamela if I remembered correctly. Next our server was also fantastic. Unfortunately, I forgot to ask for her name. Our server was friendly and experienced at her job. She filled our water glasses, dropped off menus promptly and checked in throughout the meal. We enjoyed some drinks, pasta and desserts. Complementary focaccia bread was offered right after placing our order. The bread was fresh, fluffy and soft served with a side of balsamic vinegar and olive oil. I had the mojito melibisco as my drink order. It was a refreshing fruity drink. Next I ordered the truffle spaghetti and meatballs. The pasta was amazing - freshly made spaghetti with some black truffle cream sauce. It was aromatic and scrumptious with every bite. The meatballs were seasoned well and covered in tomato sauce. It was a great combination of flavours. Also, it was a pleasant surprise that there was a complimentary zeppole dessert for the birthday girl. We still ordered the table side tiramisu as it is one of my favourite desserts. The zeppole was like a fancy powdered donut with chocolate filling. The tiramisu was prepared table side. Lady fingers were soaked in espresso, covered in mascarpone cream and topped with grated chocolate. It was a decadent dessert. While dining, multiple staff including our server stopped by our table with a table crumber. They were very efficient at maintaining the clean aesthetics and elevating the dining experience. Ambiance was warm, inviting and classy. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at this restaurant. I highly recommend giving this restaurant a visit when you are craving for some mouth watering Italian cuisine. read more

Our party of three ate at Italian Kitchen on Monday, April 27 2026 with Jeremy as our fabulous waiter. He brought out small tables for us to rest our bags on, as we'd been out sightseeing all day. Jeremy was just wonderful and attentive the entire time, from start to finish. We had cioppino, a salad, fettuccine alla bolognese, and the ravioli di Dauphine alla Zucca. Each dish was excellent. No complaints whatsoever. If we had more time in Vancouver, we'd definitely return! Fantastic spot. read more

Full experience from top to bottom! Located in a beautiful location, IK is known as a part of the Global group! Resos are easy to secure and highly recommended! And they have one of the BEST happy hours available! We came before a show at the Commodore and highly recommend! The service, by Dave, was wonderful! He recommended some wines and key dishes! They bring around some house made focaccia and oil and vinegar. The oil is good quality but the bread is cold. It would have been so much more heated! I started with the individual Mushroom Arancini (wild & cultivated mushroom, parmesan, arugula, truffle aioli). Good but you don't taste mushroom. You get the aioli and parm! Next was the Eggplant Parmigiana (fior di latte, tomato fondue, parmigiano, herbed bread crumbs, basil & arugula pesto). I loved this but didn't really get the pesto! The eggplant is so flavourful and keeps its true taste, and the herbed breadcrumbs are so tasty on this! Lastly, I got Pappardella Ripiena ai Quattro Formaggi (confit heirloom tomatoes, fresh basil, extra virgin olive oil, butter). So cheesy and perfectly al dente. This dish was so dish and we couldn't even finish it! I loved this experience, meal, and overall atmosphere! Will definitely come back, especially for their cooking classes! Our waiter, Corey, went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and appreciated. He is the sole reason for the fifth star. Hands down The food was great, wine was light and smooth (Tuscany), ambiance perfecto, and wait did I mention the food? We had the Beet Salad and carpaccio to start. Delicious. Especially, the carpaccio. We had eaten a beet and shrimp salad earlier in the day, which was impossible to "beat." So it's the only reason theirs didn't absolutely shine here. But I pinky swear it's good! We had complimentary arancini which DID NOT disappoint. I don't usually love this dish, but it was perfection here. We had the Veal, Halibut and Truffle Spaghetti and Meatballs for our mains. Our gf didn't say much about the veal but the other loved her Halibut and Risotto. NOBODY could get over my Truffle Spaghetti and Meatballs. We all ate it, and the girls ranted and raved over my dish. All the kudos is true. If this is a dish you would like...GET IT. There will be "No Ragrets." Lol I've been here on a previous visit to the city and it was good, but just not great. This by far made up for it and then some. We stopped by to celebrate a friend's birthday. We made a reservation but when we got here, we still had to wait about 20 minutes for a table despite it being a Monday evening. They didn't seem all that busy either. However, once we got seated, everything went pretty smoothly. Our waiter was super attentive and kind, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was lovely. My least favourite part was probably the pasta. We ordered the pasta tower to share. While it was aesthetically pleasing, the food just wasn't great. The pasta was way too tough for my liking and the flavour wasn't amazing. Good thing we got appetizers because they were all definitely the star of the show! Their drinks (both alcoholic and non alcoholic were refreshing!) A free birthday dessert was a nice bonus and surprise. I'd come back to give it one more try :) read more

As part of our anniversary celebration weekend, we booked and bought the Steak and Lobster feast for two that includes drinks and multi courses for around $130 for two people. The Italian Kitchen has a cute street patio but with the recent cold weather, even with heat lamps, I prefer to dine indoors. Inside the decor is a little moody but sophisticated. Each table has an adjustable little lamp that added to the ambiance. Included in the multi course meal was: - House made focaccia - Ibisco Flower spritz drink - Arancino - Burrata & Beets salad - Tuscan soup - Entree platter with 100 layer lasanga, 10 oz prime striploin, 1lb Atlantic Lobster, Rigatoni Zucca - Dessert plate with Limecello creme brulee and Rocher Focaccia was solid but was slightly disappointed that the bread wasn't warm as nothing beats a warm fresh piece of focaccia bread to dip and indulge in! I don't consume alcohol so they were nice enough to accommodate and made a mocktail for me instead, which I really appreciate. The service was great and while dining, a table nearby had a male customer who experienced a slight food allergy. Apparently, he has a peanut allergy but never had pine nuts before, consumed some, and had a reaction though nothing of an emergency. Their server, managers, and chef did address the issue seriously, apologized, and offered to remake the rest of their meal without pine nuts and packed it up to go. That is clearly a great sign of service, hospitality, and management. All the food was great but my absolute favourite was the Lobster, which was so buttery and delicious! They didn't ask how we liked our striploin so I did make sure to request for it to be cooked rare, which they did. I also managed to get a second piece of focaccia bread to finish the fresh and delicious Beets and Burrata salad. What can I say? I love my carbs! There was so much food and all the tables around us with the same feast order packed leftovers to go. We barely touched our entree so had it to go. My boyfriend ate most of the dessert plates, as I'm not much of a dessert girl, but the lemon cello creme brulee was nice and the Ferrero wasn't too rich or sweet. We made reservations for dinner for 6 PM but we went earlier because we were in the area and it was raining. Luckily they were able to accommodate us even when we were 45 minutes early. We were able to catch them before their happy hour ended and ordered one of each item on their happy hour menu. Service: Our waiter was so friendly! He made the effort to talk to us and even joked with us a bit. He even came around and reminded us last call for happy hour. Food: Everything we ordered was very delicious. Had another beautiful dinner here tonight. The room is gorgeous, the location is great, especially if you're watching a movie or shopping before/after your meal. The service is great and you can tell they are real professional servers. The food is always wonderful and they have a great happy hour as well. A couple little complaints but nothing that would stop me from going back again and again. The acoustics are really bad. Like really bad. This is no problem if you go during a quiet time. However if it's busy you have to raise your voice to hear the person across from you. Also, tonight I ordered the butternut squash ravioli with toasted hazelnuts and brown butter sage sauce. I was kind of sad because it was not a browned butter sauce. Just a plate of melted butter on top. So much so that I could see butter floating on top of my wine in the glass from my lips. Was still yummy but disappointing as I love browned butter. My mom did mention it to our server, but there was nothing I wanted them to do about it. I don't like to send food back unless something is terribly wrong and like I said, it was still good, just a bit disappointing as it wasn't what I Anticipate when I order something with brown butter sauce. They asked if I wanted to get something had but I said no, so they definitely were gracious and professional and offered to make it right if they could. I simply declined their kind offer because I didn't want to be a bother and it still tasted yummy. But like I said, nothing that will stop me coming back again and again. read more

We were with a large party celebrating a graduation. Service was very prompt and attentive. The food was served in a timely manner and was excellent. The prosecco and wine were always readily available. I had the steak, my wife had the fish and a friend had the gnocchi. All were superb. The caesar salad and wild mushroom soup were also excellent. The tiramisu was honestly excellent, but not as traditional as we were expecting. There was very little amaretto and less "spongy" ladyfingers as a result. It was really light with a lot of mousse. Loved it! We've stayed at Sutton Place many times and it's just across the street. Surprised that we've never tried this place. We will be back. read more

I ordered my favorite new drink, a St Germaine Spritz that was made perfectly, it was the perfect preface to my amazing meal. I ordered the Truffle Spaghetti & Meatballs, the reviews were mixed but I love anything TRUFFLE!! Felt very similar to the style of restaurants in Italy. Waiters were very attentive, without also rushing us or dragging on the dinner too long. I felt the they had a good attention to detail but not in an overbearing way. The food was delicious! There was a large variety of options. The truffle pasta and meatballs were pretty good and I can see why they would be a popular dish along with some of the others we ordered (bolognese, seafood linguine). Presentation of food was also very nice, tying everything together. Overall, would recommend to anyone looking for a classic Italian experience with some modern elements implemented as well. read more

Sooo I was looking for a place to get pasta served in that big parmesan wheel, and this seemed to be (one of) the only places in downtown Vancouver that I could find. Had to give it a try. Went for brunch on a weekend and this is how it went: Table Side Linguine Cacio e Pepe $55 NO. 2/10. Crushed my dreams, I did not like this. The sauce was super watery? The server scraped the cheese, but didn't torch it. The pasta was hot, and when mixed around, the sauce didn't thicken or pick up enough cheese it seems. It was very wet and dripped when she took it out of the wheel to plate it. There were chunks of lobster, topped with salt cured egg yolk, and shaved black truffles. Flavour was not bad, but it got gross really quickly as it was cold, and very watery... Wild Mushroom & Caramelized Onion Benedict $19 8/10 Crispy parmesan potatoes and truffled hollandaise literally SAVED the day. One of the best side potatoes I've ever had. Really decent price for an Eggs Benedict at a more upscale formal dining restaurant, so I'm happy with this. The little side salad was also good, just a bit too drenched in olive oil/dressing. It's a nice formal dining room, with attentive and polite servers. We also got a small slice of tiramisu bread as a starter which was a nice touch. Honestly, i was so disappointed by the pasta I would not recommend this place to anyone. This restaurant is affiliated with Glowbal Group restaurants, but there is a noticeable gap between their robust marketing and social media presence and the actual quality of the food they offer. Surprisingly decent, a bit on the pricey side. I haven't been to Italian Kitchen since their old location on Alberni, but even then I only had their lunch specials. My friends saw that they had a truffle and mushroom menu for a limited time, and wanted to try. The parking lot right next to it is not too expensive on the weekends - $8 for parking from 3pm to 11 pm. We started with complimentary focaccia bread, served with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Their bread is really good - fluffy and fresh. It was so tasty we got an extra piece. Our meal was taking a little longer, so the waiter brought out a small taster appetizers for each of us. It was an arancini with truffle aioli. This came hot and crispy, and was really tasty. We tried the bresaola carpaccio with truffle, from their limited menu. This was pretty good, although I don't know if cured meats are typically carpaccio? I thought it would typically be raw meat or fish. Anyway, the waiter shaved some additional parmesan on top for us, which was nice. We shared one of the daily special platters, that had a 32 oz bone-in rib eye with seafood risotto and fish-stuffed fried zucchini blossoms. The waiter was very nice and asked the kitchen to put 3 zucchini blossoms on it, since we were 3 people and I believe the platter is meant for 2 (but plenty for 3). We also swapped the seafood risotto to the pecorino truffle risotto, which was from the truffle menu. The risotto was made table-side, so it felt very fancy. I have no idea how they clean the cheese wheels between use. The risotto was very cheesy and decadent, with mushroom throughout. The fatty beef was cooked maybe slightly on the rare side, when we asked for medium rare. It was still very good. We decided to order the table-side tiramisu ($22) to share between the 3 of us, and mentioned we were celebrating a birthday. I think this was brought up when we made the reservation, but the waiter did not know until we mentioned it at dessert. Despite this small hiccup, he graciously offered some Italian donuts on the house for my friend's birthday. The zeppole came piping hot and they were really good - filled with chocolate and with a vanilla sauce on the side. The tiramisu is more than enough for 3 people, and table-side part was more for show, the waiter basically assembled it at the table. It was also really good. Service was very friendly and attentive. Our water was always filled and the waiter certainly went above and beyond. From my experience, this is not always the case with Glowbal Group restaurants, so this was a pleasant surprise. Overall, the food and service was all quite good. It was a bit expensive as it came to about $100 per person after tax and tip, but we were all stuffed and satisfied. I think I would try again for a special occasion or perhaps their lunch special. Definitely want to have their focaccia again. read more

Fancy Italian place on Burrard by the theatre. This restaurant used to be a few blocks away, and took over another Italian restaurant in the current location. Parking is awful in this area. Try to bum a ride off a friend. The venue conists of an outdoor W facing (covered) patio, a large indoor dining area, and a smaller raised dining area (2-3 steps). Staff are very friendly and professional. This is a fancy place after all. I was part of a large group, and so the others did most of the ordering. Antipasto platter - looks big, but there aren't really enough pieces of everything to go around. I'd say there were 2-3 of each item. Something to keep in mind. In other words, there's a good chance you won't be able to try a piece of everything. Cantaloupe slices wrapped in proscuitto - splashed with balsamic vinegar. I'm not sure how to eat this thing properly. Everyone just raided the ham and left the cantaloupe. Strange. Prawn & scallop cappellacci with king crab - had to look up what this thing was. It's basically a larger version of tortellini. Each piece of cappellacci was bascially a 8x8cm square of pasta, with a bite sized (half a golf ball?) morsel inside. Tasty, but the plate only has 2 of them. There are other goodies in the bowl/plate, such as 2 pieces of king crab, and a large prawn and scallop. Definitely interesting. The place was pretty tasty. Pricey for sure though. I wouldn't mind coming back at some point. Recommended. read more

The food is mediocre at best. Over priced and over-salted. I had the cacio de pepe. It's tossed tableside for a nice presentation. It has poached lobster pieces. The lobster was surprisingly good. The pasta had a wonderful texture. But it was too salty and cloyingly rich. And, I had to add the pepe (pepper). Odd This dish is traditionally very simply and wonderful. My husband had the 100 layer lasagna. Again, too salty. It had a nice flavor but it was dry too. I've never had dry lasagna. The hamachi crudo was on-point. The Caesar salad was very good. It started to rain and we were outside, sitting in the patio area, with a service dog, who was soon laying in water. We were getting cold as well. After an extended wait time we abandoned our table to go inside and ask for our bill. The server was very nice, but seemed overwhelmed due to the volume of people. (Dare I mention the big rat who made several appearances during dinner?) I can't recommend this place. But evidently other people enjoy it. read more

The place was packed and he still went to every table. I was impressed with that. It was our anniversary and they gave us 2 glasses of sparkling wine. The longest dinner I ever had - 3 hours! That too after we asked for the dessert to be boxed and to get us the cheque right away. If not for that we would have been sitting there for another 45 mins I had gone for a team dinner for 14 and we had a fixed menu. Still it took them 1 hour to ask for for our selection of soup/salad and main course. We were starving by the time food stated coming. It felt like the servers were told rake up a big bill by delaying the food and keeping refilling the wine/drinks and sparkling water. Food was okay in taste.
