My fiancé and I first visited this restaurant about six months ago because we could keep an eye on our dog while dining. We absolutely loved their house-made pasta during that visit, so we knew we had to return and explore more of the menu. Ambiance - 4/5 One of the things we appreciate most about this restaurant is the outdoor seating. On a beautiful day, it's a wonderful place to enjoy a meal, especially if you're dining with a dog. Being able to relax outside with our pup made for a very enjoyable experience. Service - 3/5 Service was friendly, but not quite as attentive as during our previous visit. Our server was pleasant, though there were a few missed opportunities to enhance the experience. For example, we weren't informed that alcohol could not be served in the outdoor dining area until after we had already started looking at the drink menu while we were in the middle of dining. Food - 4/5 The highlight of this restaurant continues to be its house-made pasta. The texture is wonderfully chewy and perfectly cooked, giving each dish a freshness that's difficult to find elsewhere. This visit, we tried the mushroom tagliatelle with truffle rosé sauce. While the description sounded incredible, the dish didn't quite live up to our expectations. It was enjoyable, but we still preferred the bolognese from our previous visit and cacio e pepe from this visit, both of which showcased the pasta more effectively. We also ordered the gnocchi, which was well prepared and satisfying to certain extent, but it didn't surpass our favorite one from San Francisco. The pesto sauce was just okay. If we order the gnocchi again, we'd likely try it with a tomato-based sauce instead. Overall Value - 4/5 This restaurant offers excellent value, particularly for pasta lovers. The quality of the house-made pasta alone makes it worth a visit, and there are still several dishes on the menu we're eager to try. We're already looking forward to returning and exploring more of what the kitchen has to offer. read more

Husband and I were out for a Friday date night and wanted to try a new place while walking around Gastown and walked by this place. The restaurant was cute, cozy, and could seat us right away so we decided to give it a try. We got the poached pear salad and enjoyed it! The pears were delicious and a very refreshing salad. It did come with burrata on top which was a bit disappointing since it wasn't gooey at all. For our mains, we split the pesto rigatoni and the special which was also a rigatoni with white wine, capers, shrimp and lemon. First off, the noodles are delicious on both dishes. They are clearly handmade in the best way possible. Very tender, delicate, and almost melt in your mouth. The pesto dish was perfect but again the burrata on top was disappointing since it was sort of tough/dry and not gooey. The special dish was very good but the lemon was quite strong. Initially it was a bit too much but it did grow on you over time and I did like the dish. We ended with a tiramisu and while it was delicious, there wasn't much of the bread/cake/cookie part as it was mostly cream. Overall, it was fun to try a new place but I expected a more for the price point. For $35 per plate plus salad and dessert it was a very expensive dinner and we weren't full. read more

Decent Italian spot, though there are probably better spots in town. We had the bruschetta, seafood ravioli and pappardelle with chicken, sausage, and beef. The seafood ravioli was tasty and I'd have it again. The pappardelle was decent although didn't have as much depth or complexity of flavour as it could've. The bruschetta, which was kind of like an open faced sandwich - a spread on bread with some prosciutto on top (no tomatoes in case that's what you're expecting!), was pretty meh and I wouldn't order it again. Service was nice enough. It's a cute, cozy spot in Gastown. Overall, it was just fine but given the abundance of great Italian restaurants in town I probably would go elsewhere when craving pasta. read more

Dined here with my wife during a brief stay in Vancouver. It is a small, quaint restaurant with some outside seating. Each dish is made to order. I believe they make their own pasta. Both our dishes were excellent. Service was prompt, yet unobtrusive. Would definitely recommend and return whenever we are back in Vancouver. read more

Amazing cocktail (Banana Old Fashioned - so yummy!!), good wine, delicious bread to start. Then all the pasta is made fresh and you can tell. We got the burrata for the table and then we ordered carbonara and Pappardelle "ROCHE ROCHE" to share between myself and one other. We LOVED it. The food was exceptional and so was the service. i was recommended this spot by a friend for good italian and a good vibe. boy was she spot on! the interior was cozy, intimate and cute! The waiter working tonight wS amazing!! i couldn't catch his name but he provided excellent service and was so attentive and kind. Now for the food. my friend and i both ordered the gnocchi with burrata and woww. so delicious. we also decided to split a dessert and couldn't decide between the tirimisu and the chocolate mousse. we ended up choosing the tirimisu and was pleasantly surprised when the waiter brought out both options, and said the mousse was on him tonight. sooo sweet of him. totally going above and beyond. the drinks were definitely on the pricy side ($15-20 each), so we decided to just grab fountain drinks. for location, It's on the edge of gastown but this is such a great option if you're visiting the area! read more

This may have been the best pasta I have ever ate in my entire life. When choosing a place for Dine Out Vancouver, everything seemed the same to me. I only knew one thing, i felt like eating Italian food. In the past I've never splurged on Italian food, just the usual Olive Garden, Basil Pasta Bar or even a good ol jar of sauce and Ikea meatballs. But let me tell you, after coming here, I don't think I can look at Pasta the same way. The pesto gnocchi ($55 per set menu) was by far the best option they had imo. Of course the appetizer and tiramisu were incredible and I especially enjoyed the fresh complimentary fresh bread, but the pasta was out of this world. The sauce was so flavourful and complex but so simple. It was like a soup I could eat on its own. The burrata added a fresh, creamy component that brought the dish together. And finally you can't forget the gnocchi. Somehow they managed the create a cloud that had the perfect bite. So soft and pillowy yet the perfect fulfilling bite you look for in pasta. I don't know whose Nonna they have back there, but shes amazing and deserves a raise. Overall 10/10 experience. The staff were very friendly and welcoming (especially since it was our first time and we don't regularly eat fancy food). While the restaurant was small, the vibe was very cute and cozy. This + the deliciousness of the meal = this being one of my top fav Vancouver restaurants!! read more

This intimate space feels like a pasta boutique. If you're like my next door neighbour who watches through the front door all day to make sure nobody else's leaves touches their esteemed but underwhelming lawn, you may find the experience to social for your introverted liking. In true European fashion they've managed to maximize a small space luxuriously. Prosciutto and burrata was the perfect start. I go to an Italian restaurant, I need bread, oil and cheese faster than chatGPT wrote my cover letter. Top tier burrata and a proper melt-in-your-mouth prosciutto. Perfect fat content and an overwhelming portion for two people. Quattro formaggio gnocchi was creamy, cheesy, cooked properly, well balanced and fun to say. Would smash. Lobster and crab ravioli tasted of the sea a little too much for my liking. However the prawns were phenomenal. I would eat an entire plate of those prawns. Tiramisu had a good balance of flavour however it wasn't quite set yet. The bottom was unfortunately still slimy. Imagine eating a really good sandwich, but with a soggy, bottom slice of bread. That's how it felt. Shout out the Soggy Bottom Boys. It's like K-os said, no time to get down cause I'm movin' up. It felt like a crab bucket situation. One dish elevates your senses, another dish pulls it back. When the bill came, our bellies were full and the venue was charming. Ultimately, Robba da Matti felt like it was Robba ma money. read more

My husband and I came here to have a birthday dinner. I wish it was a little more lively. The place was empty, we were the only ones there the entire meal. That being said the server was great, very nice - no complaints there. During our reservation we were just surrounded by fruit flies, we were constantly swatting them away. Food is ok, service is really the worst I ever had in Canada, initially it's fine but at the end it's absolutely ridiculous, they didn't tell me my table was only given for 1hr and 30 mins initially and then given that I didn't ask for the bill, I was suddenly given the bill as the waitress made a mistake, thought her manager asked her to prepare my bill, I've already finished my meal, just trying to finish my drink while waiting for the rain to get smaller, but I told her manager it's fine, I paid the bill. The waitress asked if I wanted some coffee I said "yes, thank you". And then after a few minutes, I asked about my coffee, the manager told me my table is expired and asked me to go out for a coffee. Seriously if it's this case, you shouldn't ask me if I want the coffee, it's humiliating and damage what you provided at the beginning. The manager said I accepted the bill, their website writes about 1 hr and 30mins thing. Is that the rule that you go to their website before going to a restaurant?!!! I accepted the bill because I am kind, I didn't want to embarrass others. And then the manager said sorry but made the kind of expression to the waitress that I had an issue...I think their service is really not professional and uncomfortable. Vancouver is a fancy city with lots of good restaurants that offer excellent food and services, you don't need to go to this one in particular, which may in some way destroy your mood. read more

Whew, that was so much food but all worth it! We came here because of the glowing reviews of the food, but our server/manager Antonio and the rhythm he has going with the chef lend to the whole experience. Very attentive despite being busy and running this whole show with 2 people. My husband and I had a fun evening and are possibly the fullest we've ever been. The restaurant is at once elegant and bistro like inside. There is a hustle that must be taking place, but we never felt any stress or chaos as a result of all that must've been taking place. Give these folks a raise! I ordered warm olives and oh my, I don't think I can ever eat cold olives again! The focaccia was soft and flavorful. My partner got the prosciutto and cantaloupe.
