Came here to celebrate my graduation completing a 3 year certificate program, which my boyfriend noted in our reservation. This is our first time going to the Coal Harbour location but have visited both the Shipyards and Olympic Village locations a bunch of time. First off, the decor at this location is beautiful! The large heated outdoor patio is huge and would definitely make for a nice sized private event. My boyfriend loved the massive full square bar they had with all the drink offerings plus plenty of seating. The intimate setting makes for a cozy intimate feel without being pretentious. We were in a carb mode but started off with drinks - my boyfriend with a Four Winds IPA and I had the Lampone seltzer that tasted similar to an Italian sode but with less carbonation. We ordered their special Kona pizza with smoked bacon, caramelized pineapple and ricotta cheese, Gnocchi with baby meatballs, and the Rigatoni Boscaiola. We loved the Kona pizza as it was flavourful and different from other Hawaiian pizzas out there. We brought the leftover slices home to my boyfriend's Dad and he said it liked it even reheated the next day. I quite enjoyed the Rigatoni Boscaiola with the sundried tomato, prosciutto, button mushrooms tossed in a creamy sauce that wasn't too heavy. My boyfriend enjoyed the Gnocchi more and we were impressed that there was almost an equal amount of baby meatballs to Gnocchi pieces. Nook is known for its quality, not quantity. We did have leftovers but not a ton even though we ordered two pastas and a pizza. Still, the quality and fresh ingredients is what you come for here. Sadly, no one mentioned about my graduation. Not sure why restaurants ask if it's a special occasion anymore on the reservations as we are noticing more and more that restaurants no longer acknowledge the special occasions. Service was decent, as good as the Shipyards location. Decor is what sets this location compared to the others. We left full and happy with some leftovers with a bill of $108 including tax but not tip.

Plenty of comfy seating and a big bar set in the middle

Enjoyable brunch experience. The menu--although brief--covers the expected bases, as well as veering into unexpected territory (e.g. spaghetti carbonara, breakfast pizza). The interior space features soaring ceilings although the seating feels comfy and intimate. Menu items are astonishingly well-priced. I ordered the Nook Breakfast for $13 and my husband ordered the spaghetti carbonara ($16). I savoured my meal, which came with crispy bacon, a small, well-dressed salad, 2 perfect sunny side up eggs, and a wedge of crisp-yet-fluffy rosti potatoes. My husband found his pasta to be on the salty side, which the server offered to replace immediately upon hearing of it. Thank you, Reilly and Jacob, for providing excellent, personable service!

I'll start by saying I've had other great experiences at Nook, including other locations. The experience I had recently was off to a bit of an awkward start as I stood beside a staff member at the entry way for some time and she did not greet me at all. I waited for someone else to help me to my table. The staff member ended up being our server and we always had a really hard time trying to get her attention. When asked her opinion on dishes or what was in them, she would respond "ummm I don't know". This was important to us as there a someone with severe food allergies at our table. Everyone enjoyed our food, but the service was a bit lacking.

Margarita pizza w/ extra cheese & garlic!

Good food and great service. Seated quickly and food was nice. The restaurant was busy which is a good sign.

The restaurant is located next to a fire station, sushi takeout and indoor bike gym. You can park in the underground pay lot shared between a hotel and public. The restaurant interior is pleasant and inviting, like dining in a rustic mansion. Restrooms are located on the upper level. The service was great and food was excellent overall - just one minor ding. Overall 4 stars. 1. Absolutely share the Octopus Mosaic, a carpaccio-preparation of paper-thin octopus fused together like chain mail armor, and bursting with flavor from the limoncello dressing. High protein and low carb too (5 stars) 2. Romaine salad was fresh and had light dressing with a quail egg snuck underneath. (4 stars) 3. No kid's menu here but they do offer half-sized entree portions with modifications. We got the rigatoni with butter parmesan and our son eventually ate half of it. He was probably still full from lunch. 4. The lobster-prosciutto stuffed chicken breast was skin-on and cooked perfectly. Very hearty dish, with veggies and gnocchi to add some carbs for balance. 5. Wife got the Branzino filet in Veloute sauce. Fish was cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. The minor ding is that a few hours after dinner my wife was getting super thirsty. It was either dehydration or maybe there was more sodium than expected. Vietnamese fish sauce has a similar effect on her. Anyways, it was an excellent dish when we ate it. Also, they had this awesome beet puree on the side which our son loved. He eventually ate some of my chicken when slathered with the beet puree. Kids and their quirky appetites...

I sat inside and the felt like I was in a cozy Italian cafe. Light music, warm lighting, immaculate vibes. The service is incredible. The two servers on tonight made sure that our glass of water was full throughout the meal. Now the food. THE FOOD. Started off with the sourdough bread and an order of meatballs. The sourdough was hot and soft but held its shape when dipping into olive oil and vinegar or when using to scoop sauce off a plate. The meatballs were tender and fresh. There was a bit of a wait between the appetizers and entrees (this is NOT a detriment, just bear with me), and when we got our pastas, they were the freshest I've had in a long time. The sign in front of the restaurant advertised fresh pasta and did NOT disappoint. We ordered the pesto dish with chicken and the gnocchi with chicken and both dishes were INCREDIBLE!! Absolutely blew us away. Finished off the meal with a lemoncello shot and it went down so smooth, I wouldn't have realized it had alcohol in it if I didn't know that beforehand. Gastown lured us in, but when we return, it will be for Robba Da Matti.

We absolutely loved their house-made pasta during that visit, so we knew we had to return and explore more of the menu. Ambiance - 4/5 One of the things we appreciate most about this restaurant is the outdoor seating. On a beautiful day, it's a wonderful place to enjoy a meal, especially if you're dining with a dog. Being able to relax outside with our pup made for a very enjoyable experience. Service - 3/5 Service was friendly, but not quite as attentive as during our previous visit. Our server was pleasant, though there were a few missed opportunities to enhance the experience. For example, we weren't informed that alcohol could not be served in the outdoor dining area until after we had already started looking at the drink menu while we were in the middle of dining. Food - 4/5 The highlight of this restaurant continues to be its house-made pasta. The texture is wonderfully chewy and perfectly cooked, giving each dish a freshness that's difficult to find elsewhere. This visit, we tried the mushroom tagliatelle with truffle rosé sauce. While the description sounded incredible, the dish didn't quite live up to our expectations. It was enjoyable, but we still preferred the bolognese from our previous visit and cacio e pepe from this visit, both of which showcased the pasta more effectively. We also ordered the gnocchi, which was well prepared and satisfying to certain extent, but it didn't surpass our favorite one from San Francisco. The pesto sauce was just okay. If we order the gnocchi again, we'd likely try it with a tomato-based sauce instead. Overall Value - 4/5 This restaurant offers excellent value, particularly for pasta lovers. The quality of the house-made pasta alone makes it worth a visit, and there are still several dishes on the menu we're eager to try. We're already looking forward to returning and exploring more of what the kitchen has to offer.
