Pumpkin spice walnut muffin-so much spiced goodness!
    May C.

Cafe Divano is one of those honest "Local" small mama papa coffee shop with heavenly comfort fresh baked goods that can rival your grandmother's delivered like clockwork every morning and surely the most popular muffins (monkey nut, zucchini chocolate) get sold out daily by 9-10am. Price wise they are always more expensive than Starbucks and Waves. What they offer is superior baked goods, but man the coffee sucks. _The good: Muffins, if you get them fresh in the morning, have crusty crunchy top and moist center. Once last 9am, it's not quite the same. The cookies though are always thick tasty and satisfying, and they are good throughout the day. Their scones (earl grey blueberries) are heavenly buttery but don't forget to ask for more butter! _The bad: Their coffee is consistently on the acidic side (we alternate between the Port Moody and the Coquitlam City Centre locations) so we figured it's the beans they use, probably too young - even a skilled barista could not do anything about bad beans. So we usually drown their coffee with heavy cream to cover up the acidity. _How to survive a bad coffee-go for tea! If cream is not your thing, go with their tea-they are great! Served in nice glass tea pot and refill hot water-it can go much further distant than the coffee. _Others: Decor wise there is nothing special but there are sufficient numbers of arm chairs cramped in with hard chairs and bistro tables. The acoustics is alright but once the cafe gets crowded the reverberations could send pulses to my brain and give me a headache. Hence I prefer to buy what I need and enjoy the rest outdoor at Lafarge lake across the street or sit outside. _Over the past 10 years we had seen price increase admits fierce competition of other coffee places, yet Caffe Divano had never fail to retain its loyal customers like ourselves, until recently when they ditched their reward program (aka Belly scanned card) where occasionally you get a free item. _How to take in the food and leave the bad: We still go there but only for the baked goods and take it to go where we get better coffee elsewhere. It's already been 10 years I don't have high hopes they will upgrade the coffee beans anytime soon. My criteria Food freshness and taste:4/5 Coffee quality (not barista fault): 2/5 Tea quality: 4/5 Value:3/5 Decor, cleanliness: 2/5 Comfort (seating and acoustics): 2/5 Total: 17/30

Caffe Divano cafe mocha with a friendly touch.

This is a lovely Cafe. There is a huge tea menu and an extensive coffee selection as well as baked goods. The service is friendly and the outside seating is lovely on a sunny day. I had the mocha and it was delicious.

I woke up super early so I decided to get myself some breakfast and coffee. The sun was out and the birds were chirping and I was feeling good! I went to Cafe Divano as I love their baked goods and coffees and they just have a super cozy atmosphere. Perfect for mornings. Today I got their "Divano Breakfast Sandwich" which was good but small and new "Maui Muffin" which is filled with mango, pineapple and coconut. The combination sounded SO good but I'm not sure if it's the one I got but it was soooooo beyond dry and stale. And the service I've been receiving lately at Divano is quite cold and rude.. Such a disappointing visit, might be a long time until I return. I'm giving it a 2 because although my visit this time and service was horrid, my past visits have been solid.

I really love how spacious and easy going this location is. The teas and pastries were good, however, I was not a big fan of the Americano. Kind of sour tasting. Also, I was a bit disappointed that so many of their outlets don't work. With that said, I will continue to go here for its overall serene atmosphere.

Small chai tea latte with almond milk. $4. Served in 3 cups for some reason?

    Review Highlights - Caffe Divano

My Americano was really well pulled and the chocolate that I asked for was just the right amount.

(located in the food court) Bubble Tea is delicous as well, and prices hasn't been inflated crazily like the growing Pearl Fever. So you can still get your bubble tea for $3.50! but again.. don't forget to order yourself a batch or two of the golden bubbles! You won't look at those egg waffles the same anymore! If you're hungry for more food.. The food court also has a small selection of delicious delicacies. I always pop over to get some siau long pao (taiwanese soup dumplings, exact translation would be dragon dumpling! who wouldn't want to eat those!), or some korean noodles, or korean kampungki! (fried spicy chicken) delicious delicous! even if i can't eat spicy food.. i'd scarf it down! Its that delicious :P OH. and of course.. its Cash Only!

The watermelon slush isn't the same without those pearls, so I pay a bit extra for them, but it's worth it. The pearls were cooked well, enough that they are chewy, but not too much that they are mushy. Some golden bubbles on the side complete the experience. They are plain bubbles, but delightful to have nevertheless. It's located conveniently in the food court area of Henderson mall. There are other types of bubble tea available, such as wheat and sesame. Cash only. But they have a stamp card that you can use.
