I stopped by Forecast Coffee on a rainy Saturday and it was packed! We almost thought we wouldn't find a spot, but after circling for a bit, we managed to snag seats at the end of a long communal table just as two people were leaving. Phew! As a big fan of an honest hot drip coffee, I'm happy to report that the flavor was perfect. I think I got a bit carried away, though, and didn't realize my drink was sitting at the bar for a while. They may not have called it out, or perhaps I just missed it! The star of the show, however, was the roast beef sandwich. I was pretty hungry and gobbled it up; it was incredibly flavorful and had the perfect amount of sauce. I can't stand sandwiches if they're too dry, so I was glad that wasn't the case here! I'd love to come back on a weekday when it might be a bit less crowded. Otherwise, it's a very cool place to catch up with a friend! read more

I used to come here occasionally when I lived in Mount Pleasant. The sandwiches/wraps and giant cookies were always fantastic. The cookies were always so fresh and soft. The vegetarian options were great - the sandwiches were interesting and satisfying. The food is not cheap but it's definitely better-than-average cafe food. It's been a while so I honestly don't really remember what I thought about the coffee and tea. I assume they were fine, but they evidently didn't leave as much of an impression. I do remember their smoothies were pretty good, but also expensive, with prices close to smoothie bars like Body Energy Club but like 2/3 of the size and without all the functional add-ins. It's a big shop but it always got crowded by lunch time. Nice environment if you don't mind being a little packed. The patio was my best bet for seating during crowded times when the weather was slightly less than ideal but fair enough to comfortably be outside. The patio area is also pretty sizeable and is fenced off from the sidewalk. I found the baristas here could be unfriendly. There were some that were nice, but I think more often than not they came off as kind of snobby. I also remember one time I tried to order what was clearly labelled as "GF/vegan banana loaf" and the barista deadpanned back at me "It's not vegan." Stopped by Forecast Coffee on Main St. on a Saturday afternoon and it was crowded! There was no place to sit so we just picked up a few things to go. They had a variety of cookies, I chose the matcha white chocolate with sesame cookie which was good but the matcha flavour wasn't too strong. I also tried their pesto cheese bread pull, it was DELICIOUS! The flavour was amazing and I would recommend warming them up. Also got their iced mocha, pretty good! The cafe does have a lot of places to sit but it does get crowded during rush hour. read more

Their food consistently slaps!! Highly recommend any of the sandwiches you see on the menu. We've tried their fried chicken (so crispy, well balanced), turkey club (amazing bite) and bc smoked salmon (creamy fish and cream cheese)! We keep coming back for more. The matcha latte however, I was super disappointed with. To me, it just tasted like milk with a light dusting of matcha for the colour. I would skip it and try the coffee drinks in the menu instead. They also feature local breweries on tap. Great space, there are high tables and couches for seating. You take a number for food after ordering at the counter and they bring it to you. It's a bit of a wait when it's busier but worth it if you are not in a rush because the food is made fresh in house. They had a display of pastries at the counter as well. Yum! Delicious latte with almond milk. Pretty expensive for a 12 oz -$6.98 + $1 tip =$8? Cup didn't look like it was 16 oz though; it was pretty small. Was in the area so decided to come in again. The service and food are good. This time, I got a spicy chicken wrap and a latte. The tables along the wall allow you to use laptops. The tables by the window has a sticker that say it's laptop free so that other people can enjoy the place. If you do bring a laptop, they do not offer free wifi. Well, when I asked for their wifi password, the server said they don't have any. You'd have to use your own phone data as a hotpot. I went here on Feb1st for a coffee fix. This location used to be Starbucks Reserve which no longer exists. I personally found pastry /cookie section to be fancy. They also had Chocolate Festival menu when I visited. Blueberry Muffin cookie was huge. It was so tasty on the same day and the day after. Latte was pretty good too. Shout out to the tube top lady who helped making me a hot coffee. Forecast Coffee really blew me away. Food and drinks aren't cheap, but this cafe is totally worth visiting. read more

I've enjoyed the whistler location so I've found myself here 4 or 5x since this location transformed from a Starbucks reserve but have had mixed experiences. The atmosphere is nice and there's plenty of tables to work or chat though over the times I've gone the place has gotten progressively more busy! 2 hours limit per table and no wifi available. Ordering: Staff friendliness/helpfulness is hit or miss. Half the time the wait can be long to get either drink or food, regardless of if the place is bumpin or there is only a few other patrons inside. Twice I had to ask about a status update or if they forgot my order. Food wise: Fries were good but a very small portion for $7 - was confused by the 45 minute wait considering we were one of few people in that night. Fried chicken sliders were ok. Drinks: Quality of coffee is consistently pretty good though americanos tasted a little watered down. The different lattes Ive gotten have been fine though. I found the smoothies were super expensive (over $10) for the medium size and taste was ok. Very curious about the coffee cocktails though - may try that next time. read more

Big fan of this place if you're WFH and want a change of scenery. It can get quite loud so I suggest some noise cancelling earphones if you prefer your own music or, don't mind background noise. I like this place because it's spacious and open-- I used to love coming to the Starbucks reserve but I'm happy Forecast took it over. Really liking the brighter aesthetics and all the plants. COVID protocols: they'll ask for your proof of vaccination if you sit in, all staff wear masks. What I've ordered: - Latte 4/5 - Blume latte 4/5, great afternoon pick me up with low amounts of caffeine - Bacon and Brie breakfast sandwich 5/5 One thing to note, there's no garbage can/compost for you to dispose items, just a tray collector for dirty dishes-- hoping the team comes up with a resolve for this soon. This was a spur of the moment brunch on our way to Parallel 49 Cafe for their Vancouver Hot Chocolate Festival entry (will post on my other account). This Cafe was VERY busy, and for a reason! The food here was delicious! Fried Chicken n' Croffle - 9/10 - an absolutely moreish breakfast. The chicken was very well cooked and moist, and because of the croffle base vs the standard Waffle, it was very flaky and light. It's only not a 10 because while excellently executed, it could have been elevated (with spice, paprika, citrus, etc) Farmers Breakfast Bowl - 8.5/10 - Eggs, hollandaise, farmers sausage, potatoes, onions, and peppers Dark Chocolate and Peanut Butter cookie - 10/10 Red Velvet cookie 7/10 The cookies were very good, and the peanut butter cookie was the best peanut butter cookie that I've ever had! They were filled with both peanut butter and a cheesecake filling respectively, and I'll be going back just for them. Taste - 8.5/10 Apperance - 8.5/10 Ambiance - 7.5/10 Service - 6/10 (a new category but a necessary one since the service can make or break a restaurant) - a 6 because there was a 30 minute wait for food and we had to ask for cutlery, but the staff was extremely apologetic and friendly. Fast, friendly and efficient service in this cafe that seems to mostly cater to university students as evidenced by all the laptops that made it impossible to find a seat. Mid-century modern vibe, very clean and well organized. Small selection of baked goods, small selection of sandwiches and appetizers- it's hard to know exactly how to classify this spot - I was expecting more of a coffee house based on the name but they have a full bar with service starting at 4pm (it appears). Coffee flavour was average, the banana bread was good but the white chocolate raspberry scone was undercooked and flavourless. Not sure I'm tempted to go back. read more

I had been following Forecast for some time and was extremely excited to try their newly opened spot in Main. However, my visit was disappointing. After waiting a long time to be helped at the front, I was approached by a staff member with no mask, and was horribly rude for no reason? She did not greet me nicely and did not even crack a smile at all(?) while she continued to cut me off and rushed me when I was ordering. I initially wanted to have a conversation regarding their coffee beans as I was a big fan, but when I mentioned coffee beans, she replied "they're at the front counter the information is there" :( It was also difficult to find a seat as the tables available were not bussed / taken away & sanitized. So I did it myself and used my personal wipes. I noticed that no staff members are wearing mask, when I believe it is mandatory to wear it in public indoor spaces especially handling food? It was a bit odd to see as even customers seated / spoken to were wearing masks (seen in photos). When called for my drink, I was confused as they gave me a hot latte when I ordered an Iced latte? To add, I definitely see no latte art at all, no effort. I waited for my food for 15min+, not too bad. During my stay, when it had gotten slower, a bunch of staff members were just chilling by the espresso machine and talking. While it is okay to do that, there were still a lot of tables that needed to be taken care of and sanitized; they could have also taken time to learn latte art. A spacious and gorgeous cafe right off of Main Street and 14th! Forecast Coffee made its way from Whistler to Vancouver, taking over the old Mount Pleasant Starbucks Reserve. Featuring an array of specialty coffee roasted by their own roaster, beer, and wine, Forecast serves a variety of snacks, pastries and American dishes. I tried the pork loin and truffle fries and they were both delicious, though a tad too salty for my liking. They also use Blume for their Matcha lattes, which I personally am not a fan of. Their coffee is okay, but once again, not for my taste buds. I love how there's a ton of tables to work and study, but there's only a few outlets, so be sure to snag one as soon as you get there. The music is also quite loud so I wouldn't go to study or work again, but it's a great facility to have a meeting or converse with a friend. read more

This replaced the Starbucks that stood here for quite some time and it is definitely an improvement! They make a very good cappuccino and their whole coffee beans are fantastic. They have both baked goods and small meals like salads and sandwiches. They even have beer and wine! They lose 1 star because some of the staff are a bit indifferent. read more

First and last time here with my family. Ordered coffees, a caesar cocktail, 2 breakfast sandwiches, bruschetta toast, and breakfast potatoes. Cashier asked me if it was to go. I said no, and told her we were sitting outside. She gave me number 43 for the table for the food runner, and after collecting our drinks from the bar, we went outside and waited for our food. A half hour goes by and I go back inside to find out the status of our food and it's sitting in a to go bag at the bar. I told the manager that it was not a to go order and that we have been outside at our table waiting for our order. He replied back "sorry - that's what the ticket said". read more

I've been here twice this month. This business cannot make a decent Americano, so this is not a worthwhile coffee shop. Americano was not hot, and had no head/creamo. It tasted like watered down drip coffee. On the bright side, their food is well made and pretty good. Their laptop policy is NOT community oriented and the way they go about enforcing it is really condescending and not inclusive. It's policing and rude and awkward. The cis-white male manager will walk up to young women working and ask them to move but not older men or men who look like him. This sexist, awkward double-standard has me never coming back here and it's too bad because the cookies are fun, the baristas themselves lovely and the coffee decent. May as well go to JJ Bean across the street where you can pay 6$ for a coffee and work in peace and among friendly, kind, generative/generous community. It's exam season. I am a university professor. My friends and I started referring to this place as Foreskin. There always seems to be whiff of dickish attitude from the staff, like some of them can't be bothered with you. Can't be bothered to take your order, answer your questions, make the coffee, etc. If I am being an ass, then I expect as good as I get, but for this place dickish is the default no matter how agreeable you are as a patron. Lots of great menu options, and I LOVE that there is a limit to the number of laptop tables! Go to the library or stay home if you want to work! Coffee shops were never meant to be your office. So weird that people think they are entitled to space in a coffee shop to do homework or run their business. It costs so much to run a business, and people are not entitled to free wifi and a tabletop for the cost of a coffee and a pastry. They never have anything in stock and all the times we've been here we've never been been able to get what we wanted. It's either the frier doesn't work, or the wrong time to get something from the menu (which it should clearly state), or they simply have run out. I think it should be made more clear what you can get at certain times because frankly they shouldn't have 75% of the menu up because they "can't" make it unless it's past a specific time. My girlfriend and I visited today around lunchtime. We were very excited to try out this place when it first opened. While we were giving our order to the cashier, we had to repeat ourselves several times because she couldn't remember. I thought to myself, okay fine that's forgivable. I ordered a fried chicken sandwich, a salad, and an americano. My girlfriend ordered the pork belly skewers and an iced americano. She gave us a number and told us everything would be brought to our table. Due to a majority of the tables being occupied by people on their laptops, we had to take one of the tables in the corner. We waited about 10 minutes and our coffee still had not arrived, so I decided to check the front. Lo and behold, our coffees were sitting there getting cold and diluted. Why didn't the cashier tell us that we would have to pick them up? When the food came to our table, I asked the cook who brought our food for a fork and napkins because we weren't given any utensils. 10 minutes go by and we assume either he forgot or that he didn't care. I ended up using my girlfriend's skewers like chopsticks to eat my salad. My fried chicken sandwich honestly tasted like a McChicken, and for $14 I expected a lot better. The pork belly skewers and coffees were satisfactory. Overall, a very disappointing experience. We may consider returning for their coffee, but their food and service were absolutely terrible. read more

Went in there expecting a typical Cafe but I was surprised. Went in there for a normal day doing out-work logistics for my company on my laptop as I always do. Jumping from space to space. But the vibe consistently changed. And it was a breathe of fresh air. Morning coffee shop to mid day lounge to night to bar. It was hard not to leave. The staff was amazing. Especially Owen. I feel alot of people want the quiet cozy shop. But if you to get attuned to the way vancouver actually lives. This is the spot. 10/10 would recommend. read more

I understand why the JJ Bean across the street is busier. Four or five staff, but 2 lineups ( even though they weren't busy), one to order and one to wait for your coffee. The barista was in no hurry believe me. People who run espresso-like coffee shops should take a trip to Italy and see how it's done. read more

Have been waiting to check out this new coffee house for a while and loved what they've done with the space ( former Starbucks). They've been opened for a bit so I didn't have any issues with line ups or noise like other reviews. Went in to grab a couple of coffees ( cappuccino and americano) to go before a morning walk. Short wait to order and quick pick up. Clean modern aesthetics, super friendly staff. Also happy they are allowing personal travel mugs and have a loyalty program. Looking forward to trying their pastries next time ( and when they get their liquor license ). read more

I have mixed feelings about this place, but  the bottom line is that i have found their latte and cappuccino good. The atmosphere, for me, is problematic. It is a large place with  cement floors, so that there is no sound absorption, so the music pounds even when it is not loud. Even outside there is the same effect. The other day I left with a headache. It happened even when I tried ear plugs one day.. It would be nice if they cut some of the base  or even had a section where they took out the speakers, so those of us who are not entranced with their choice of music have a bit of respite. It reminds me of loud restaurants where it seems the idea is that -"loud  equals  "atmosphere."  Here's   challenge, Forecast:  Try a weekly jazz afternoon or a light music afternoon, and see how people react. I know there is no pleasing everyone, but still   The actual space is nice besides that-- very bright with blonde wood. It  is busy, so the staff are rushed and they have mixed up my order a couple of times, but were quite accommodating in making a new one. Some of the seating is quite comfortable--not the hard chairs or  uncomfortable  chairs most places have these days. read more
