The muffins feel very wholesome. It's cool that this location has protein smoothies - I tried the peach pear variety and it was delicious! Another notable thing about the Main St location is that in addition to the usual desserts like cookies and carrot cake, they have a ton of French-style tarts and cakes. Prices are reasonable. They also carry hot soup that changes daily (chicken noodle, onion soup, chili, etc). Although I am not gluten intolerant or have celiac disease, I have friends who are and it's nice to see that this cafe offer a wide selection of gluten free baked goods that are well labeled. There's patio seating, which would be perfect for the spring and summer time! There's a glass and wall between the sidewalk and the patio so you don't get the whiff of smoke from the occasional smoker that walks by. As for the food, the ham and egg croissant was the perfect mix of crispy exterior, soft interior and a wonderful blend of flavour. The eggs were fluffy and light and the ham was flavourful, but not overly salty. The hot chocolate was delicious and was the perfect way to end my day. I just think that's probably a necessity any cafe or restaurant should have all the time.
