Seemed like they were out of a lot of ingredients at this time though cuz I think I overheard her earlier telling the previous customer that they didn't have a certain item; then when I got to the front and I asked for a Lavender Cloud, she said she needed to check with her manager to see if they had the ingredients for that. In the end they put the order through and served it to me. Blah...I didn't like this drink at all. Can't believe I waited so long and paid money for this drink. It didn't look anything like it did in the picture that advertised the drink, and tasted horrible. Made me question whether they had made it properly. I suspect that they were low on ingredients and compromised on the quality of the beverage. If that were the case, I'd appreciated them just telling me straight out that they couldn't make it. I'd have ordered a different drink altogether. I still drink this anyways as I was thirsty and I don't like things going to waste. Here's what we had: Cherry Cola Iced Espresso Lavender Espresso Spritz Kokomo bowl Last time we shared the Kokomo Acai bowl as a snack. This time we each had our own Kokomo bowl for lunch. They have other combinations of Acai bowls but we both really like the Kokomo bowl. When we had it in Kitsilano, it was a much hotter day. The Acai in our bowls was much softer as the summer heat had somewhat melted it. Almost like a custard or pudding texture. This time it was a much cooler day so the frozen Acai kept its form more, and was a much thicker, more frozen texture. My daughter preferred it this way. More frozen. Personally, I preferred it the first time we had it. As it's a frozen ingredient, I found the coldness of it more refreshing on a hot summer's day and welcomed it into my body more. This being a cooler day, it made my body colder which wasn't something I particularly enjoyed. I still enjoyed the Acai bowl very much. The ingredients are tasty and healthy. My body loves tasty and healthy. It's clearly a matter of personal preference as to whether you prefer your Acai more thick and frozen on a cooler day, or more melted yet still cold and frozen (just not "as" frozen) on a hotter day. We didn't care much for our Espresso drinks. I'm not deducting any marks for that though as we come here mainly for the Acai bowls which are top notch in my opinion!

Another wee difference is that this store has no seating. To compare the two shops a bit further, I found the North Van location to be a bit more laidback than the Victoria's on Hornby. I'd imagine that the Hornby shop also sees a ton more foot traffic and that, too, could make for a less relaxed atmosphere. I came for the smoothies, but for the vitamin/supplement head, this store would seem to have all you need. (If not, then there's a competing health food store just down the road & across the street.) Visitors from Vancouver: take the bus from the ferry terminal straight up the hill, or, if you're feeling particularly spunky, walk!
