    Latte & dessert
    Joey W.

Such a nice cafe! Came here Saturday May 4 for a small breakfast and coffee. The latte was great! Staff were so friendly, and always had a smile on their face. We brought our baby kittens in a carrier, stayed outside, but the staff noticed it was so chilly outside, they check with the existing customers in the cafe and let us in to have our breakfast. Such a friendly and inviting atmosphere, with cheerful staff - would definitely come back again.

I planned to have a coffee cross the street, however, I was parked my car in front of Continental Coffee house. I would think it should be good for coffee here. The barista is friendly and the atmosphere is good plus outdoor seating available. I liked their display coffee machines - Siphon coffee and coffee roster. I got the banana chocolate bread was moist and good. However, the mocha was mediocre. If Trafiq is too busy, this is another good place for coffee.

Stopped by mid week and mid morning. Friendly staff, great service, great coffee along with a corner location to people watch along Main street. They have a large range of desserts and pastries and a great selection of teas and coffee options. There are a lot of coffee houses and pastry options in the area but they appear to have established their loyal customer base so they must be doing something right.

I used to live right by the Commercial Dr location so I got to discover how good their coffee is! Now that I'm closer to the Main St location, I try to stop by whenever I can. In addition to excellent coffee, they serve some amazing sorbetto and delicious macarons. The customer service is usually pretty good!

A step up. Continental Coffee House on Main St in Vancouver

This is quite the step up from what Salt Spring left behind. The shop is updated and fresh feeling. Same great outdoor space but the interior seating has been replaced with some VERY nice leather chairs and the lighting has been updated to a simple but contemporary look. This location of Continental offers a variety of specialty coffees including the Siphoned method and soon to offer single origin. They even have a sweet little 1lb roaster for the occasional use. And, if you'd like a little coffee roasting education, talk to Nick. He's been roasting for over 16 years. There's always something to learn about what you love in life. We heart COFFEE!

    My decaf mocha

We stopped by the cafe on Valentine's Day. My husband got a coffee made with the family's own blend and I got a decaf mocha. Beautiful! I also snuck in a mini cannoli because it was so cute and I had never had one before. What a treat! Reg LOVED his coffee which he said was very strong without being too bitter. I was shocked that my mocha was sweetened just enough, that for once I did not have to add sugar. What a beautiful rich mug of mocha. Continental Coffee House is a total treasure and I am thrilled to find out they have a location on Commercial too! I will be checking that location out for sure.

Cappuccino is ok. Nice layout, wood floors, white walls , lots of windows to people watch. Outside seating is plentiful. Lots of food choices, the panini looks good. Old school ceiling fans and hanging laugh bulbs give the place character. Staff are friendly and they offer water, either sprat killing or not with the coffee. A relaxing , mellow atmosphere adds to the coffee experience. Free wifi is great

    Matcha latte unsweetened and creamy

So on a rainy lackadaisical calm cloudy afternoon. I find myself sitting here ruminating my craziness that is my personal life. Quick polite chat with the barista and order up a matcha latte unsweetened. "What size? How big is the 20oz size?" I ask. She points to the. BIG cup on the counter and my response is "oh! That's too big!" She chuckles and says that's the usual response. When my drink is ready, it's like heavenly matcha here. It's creamy and smooth with that touch of green tea bitterness. Near perfection for my javaless soul. I love the dreamy music playing in the background. The sound of the girls behind the counter chatting all mix to combine a calmness only found in coffee shops like this. Most of the other customers are all quiet, laptops open, reading papers. Keeping to themselves. I like it. Another neat adventure that I would normally do with friend Hilda and peruse the cluttered aisles of antique shops. Just the two of us, calmly window shopping. So I am here, drinking tea, wondering just how many cups of coffee Rory Gilmore would drink in a day.

Really cute spot on Main Street, and was really excited for it. Unfortunately, the drink I ordered really wasn't very good. I ordered the matcha latte and it was very grainy and not hot at all. It was barely even warm. This was very unfortunate as the ambience of the coffee shop was really nice and cozy. Perfect for a rainy afternoon. On the other hand, my friend who ordered a regular coffee thought it was good!

I ordered Lemon Ginger Tea. It's smells so good and I really liked it. They offer free wifi and two outlets. A lot of lights and clean, calm environment. I definitely recommend this place if you wanna get your work done!

Try the coffee siphon with their Colombian coffee. SO NOM! Sip it while eating a chocolate croissant and try not to order another round.

Matcha-Berry Opera Cake Thin layers of matcha joconde sponge, berry ganache, and matcha buttercream stacked into a refined, jewel-toned slice. Black forest cupake and cookie and cream cupcake. Kinako Cherry cheese swill roll was good. Cherry compote dominated the cake flavor, paired with cream cheese well. Kinako powder was very subtle, it was not overly sweet, overall, it was very good. Strawberry jasmine tea was just ok. Strawberry and floral flavor were very subtle. Jasmine tea flavor dominated this drink. When I mixed with Whipped cream on top, it tasted better. Matcha berry opera cake was the highlight! Matcha buttercream and berry ganache paired so well, and surprisingly it was not overly sweet. What I always love about Trafiq's cakes is that their cake is not overly sweet, and have very sophisticated flavor. Black forest cupcake and cookie and cream cupcake's presentation was super cute! The cute rounded buttercream on the top of cupcake caught our eye. Cupcake tasted just ok, sponge was decent and cream was softer than I thought. I liked cookie and cream flavor better. Overall, highly recommend this place's dessert and cakes.

I felt a strange vibe when I entered and noticed that there were very few customers compared to the normally busy shop that I know at the beginning of the year - the last time I visited this Blenz location. With no greeting from the lady at the counter, I walked up to say we are ordering the coffee by donation. She gladly said sure and then asked what size. I said large, and then my guest ordered medium. I then asked where to put the donation, just as I saw the pink donation box. There was no opening to deposit my donation so I asked where to put in the money. The lady fiddled with the box and finally found a hole in the BACK. Although I thought this was unusual, I placed my donation in the box. Meanwhile, my guest noticed that the lady was punching in the drinks and had the credit card machine ready to charge us for the drinks!!!! I asked why she is charging us, and she explained that coffee by donation means we pay for the drinks and then the store donates the money collected. I said all these years (as I've been a loyal Blenz customer since its beginning), it has always been a free coffee and then I donate a sum of my choice. She said well every store is different. My guest and I were quite puzzled, and after looking at each other with a "hmm" look, I said forget it, and told her that she shouldn't be charging us. I almost felt like taking back the donation from the box, mostly fearing that she'll probably take that money for herself as well, but thought it will tacky and classless. So we left, went to another Blenz on Broadway, and there, we were served our coffees properly. With that, I left a bigger tip.
