Left to right: breakfast sandwich, butter croissant, chai latte, hario v60 drip coffee

They have the most beautiful coffee bar! Everything I ordered today was delicious and the service was super friendly. I usually get let down by breakfast sandwiches but they do it so flavourful here! The staff was really knowledgeable about their coffee and gave really good recommendations. The decor was absolutely stunning my eyes kept wandering back to the simulated sky! Definitely makes me forget about the rain for awhile What I ordered: - oat latte - chai latte - hario v60 drip coffee - breakfast sandwich - butter croissant recommendations: The chai was so aromatic and the flavours were so deep, blending perfectly with the milk. The croissant was absolutely delicious, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and such a lovely butter flavour. Highly recommend! (Pro tip) dip your butter croissant in the last 1/4 of your chai latte SO. GOOD. The booths are right next to the coffee bar and I loved watching the baristas make their coffee. Overall a really nice place to set up for awhile or go for a cafe date! They have some seating outside too. Follow me @yvrcafescene on Instagram for more!

I LOVE THIS SPOT. Great atmosphere. Great coffee. Food is pretty standard, but they have some good sandwiches. Highlight is the coffee. Staff are always friendly.

The café shop interior where you order your food and drinks. Note the cool vaulted ceilings and all the croissants!

There was an unexpected power outage at UBC last week, so after getting ready in the dark that morning we were looking for a local café that we could enjoy a coffee and quick breakfast at before work. Platform 7 is en route to the office and has good reviews so we took a chance. The café is a great little spot to grab a coffee and treat, plus it's set to look like the interior of an old European train station - very cool! The staff are welcoming and courteous. When we arrived at 7:30AM, we had our pick of tables, though around 8:30AM was clearly rush hour as that's when the place started filling up and folks grabbed their lattes and muffins to go. Note that it does get pretty loud during peak times, not only because of the people but mainly their machines. It's also a long, narrow space with tall ceilings. It can be difficult to hear each other at moments when all of the coffee grinders/steamers and whatnot are all on at the same time but it generally passes quickly. We each had their medium roast coffee and the ham breakfast sandwich. The coffee was excellent, a clean taste with no bitterness. The sandwich was also surprisingly good - I assumed it was just ham, egg and cheese, but there was also some delicious red onion, tomato and avocado tucked in there. Well played, Platform 7! My only wish is that these other toppings were evenly distributed through the sandwich. Would happily come back to try their other coffees and try their baked goods. I recommend Platform 7!

Cortado

Platform7 was a highly recommended coffee shop by our friend. We came in to this little retro coffee shop and were greeted with the amazing aroma of coffee. The oatmeal chocolate chip cookies was fresh and delicious. The cortado was perfect. The espresso shot was done well and not at all expire or burnt. The cortado was smooth, strong, and beautifully decorated with a foam swan. We will be back! We were too full to try the Stumptown coffee shake or affigado. Next time, Platform7!

Ordered the vegetarian feta as well as the tuna melt sandwiches. They were OK, but the real star was the iced tea pour over. We chose the earl grey and we could hear them shake shake shake it. Oh the foamy goodness...and unsweetened too. Yummy and refreshing.

A coffee shop designed as a train station? How cool! I had a chiropractor appointment in the area and was fairly early, so I hopped on Yelp to find a coffee shop to kill some time. Platform 7 was a short walk away from where I was, so off I went! A few things about Platform 7 that I'm a fan of: + Delicious almond milk lattes. I enjoyed this one on ice and in a tall cold glass - perfect for a warm summer day. + Yummy baked goods and sandwiches. I had the turkey and Brie sandwich, which was just light and satisfying enough to ease my appetite. It was also one of the tastiest cafe sandwiches I've had in a while. The cranberry sauce that was in the sandwich was delicious! + Friendly service. It's always so nice to be welcomed into a cafe with a big smile and warm greeting, and that is exactly what I got when I walked into Platform 7. + Strong free wifi. Great place to get some work done if you need to plug in and power out a few hours. I'll be back for more almond milk lattes soon, Platform 7!

Great spot for a quick snack or enjoy a good book over coffee. Don't have a book? Drop by the bookstore next door first.

It's very light, slightly acrid, and highly recommend because it didn't leave me feeling heavy in my stomach unlike some oat lattes do. I loved the croissant. Signature flaky pastry with a vibrant center of whipped matcha cream layered over tangy strawberry jam, finished with a fresh strawberry and matcha dusting. So, it paired with strawberry jam so well. Strawberry jam had well-balanced tangy and sweet flavors, I really liked it. I highly recommend this item! Service was very good and friendly

It's my first time here. It's busy. Lots of seats. They have a glass covered patio, which is a nice extension. I ordered a double shot of ice espresso. It was a warm day but needed caffeine. I like they have lots of choices of sweets and donuts and their portions are big. The tables are small though, and a bit cramped inside, unlike what I'm used to at Main St. There's also minimal wall outlets for laptops or phone charging. So make sure you have your devices charged before coming here to work or study. Outside it's walking distance from other stores snd restaurants. It's a nice commercial neighborhood. I recommend visiting it after going to the beach down the hill.

I am writing this review because my email to them went unanswered…read more I am shocked and disappointed at the way I was treated after spending $40. I am a HUGE 49th fan and love their dougnuts and coffee. Whenever I have friends in town, or someone needs a suggestion on where to visit, I always say "49th has really good coffee and doughnuts". Unfortunately, my mind has changed, and I don't see myself ever recommending this location. As an avid coffee drinker, I am pretty picky on where I choose to have coffee and love the cafe culture in Vancouver. My mom loves doughnuts and we had come all the way from Langley for a day in Kits, so I recommended we go to 49th! I spent about $40 on 4 doughnuts, 2 maple sea salt lattes and a drip coffee. The maple sea salt lattes looked beautiful and my doughnut was delicious as usual (big fan of the french crueller). Unfortunately, our maple sea salt lattes were very very strong and had no maple or sea salt flavoring in my opinion. I decided to ask the girl at the register if we could please get a different drink because it was super strong and didn't taste good. I was met with SO much attitude, i was actually shocked. I went into it very friendly and politely asked for an alternate drink as i did spend $12 on these two drinks (and life gets expensive!!). She then goes "well, you probably don't like the taste of coffee then".... I actually didn't know how to respond. But i did say "I'm a huge 49th fan and love coffee!". Then I had asked how many shots are in the small and she said "2". I then had asked if we could get a new/different drink and she goes "I'll give it to you this one time, but next time you'll have to pay." This is NOT the way to treat a paying customer. It felt so rude and accusatory. I very rarely come to Kits, so she wouldn't have recognized me and am an honest girl who works hard for my money. When the customer comes up politely, you offer to make it right. I hope the next person that comes up not satisfied with their drink is treated a lot better than how I was.

I was glad to see the same amazing pastries and tarts and sandwiches, all fresh and beautifully displayed in the display case. I ordered a croissant and it was superb as usual. I also ordered one of thier baguettes to bring home. My kid and I think SV has the best baguettes in the city. They are crusty on the outside, soft yet chewy inside, and just consistently perfect. This one was as good as all the others we've had from here. Yeah! I wanted an Earl Grey tea which IMO is a pretty basic order. Surprisingly, they did not have it. I got a green tea instead (their tea selection was very limited). And the girl who took my order, as well as the girl who rang me up at the cash, could NOT have been more aloof. I smiled and tried to make a little small talk, especially with the girl at the cash when I took out my debit card and asked how to pay (she just pointed at the tap symbol on the machine but my card is not tap-enabled. I always joke with people about this). This girl would not even look at me. Zero eye contact. No "thank you", nada. I just got really cold vibes from the two of them there at the counter. (At least when I picked up my tea at the beverage counter, the guy there made eye contact and semi smiled). (Side note: the staff at the Yaletown site have always been super pleasant and friendly, and this really makes a difference. To me, anyhow). Contrary to another reviewer's posting, the restaurant and the washroom was very clean when I visited here. No issues there. Honestly, I'm not sure I'll return to this site. There are so many cafes and bakeries around, I'd rather go to one with a warmer vibe. Or stay with my Yaletown SV.

The pastries look out of this world--flaky croissants, gorgeous tarts, and sourdough that's worth the trip alone- maybe next time, I'll be able to grab a few. The coffee though, nice! Rich, smooth, and clearly made with care. If you want delicious baking, great coffee, and room to breathe, this place is a true Vancouver gem.
