First impression was not good upon seeing all the baked goods, which were mostly loaves, wrapped in plastic. It turns out the baked goods are brought in frozen and thawed as needed. We had our standard Americanos which were reasonably good and a slice of banana loaf and lemon blueberry loaf. The lemon blueberry loaf was ok considering it was not fresh, we were hungry so we ordered a second one, which turned out to be a mistake. The banana loaf and 2nd slice of lemon blueberry loaf were not great, I'd say they fall into the category of 'they make the coffee taste better but otherwise why eat them'. The condiment area had loose sugar in an open container that you take with a spoon, that i always find strange and not sanitary. Plastic water jug and glasses that seemed out of place in a west side cafe. There was also no chocolate, cinnamon or other coffee finishing touches. At least the service was polite and friendly and overall the establishment was a clean, bright cafe.

Tree Organic Coffee is located on West Broadway and Fir Street. It's bright, modern and clean coffee shop. I just finished lunch across the street and saw Tree Organic opened at the corner. As dessert lover, I definitely loved to check it out. We still so full from lunch but wanted get few pieces of cheesecake to go. Apparently, the portion of cheesecake way smaller than before. But, it still tasted good. The mocha cheesecake pretty rich and moist. The very berry cheesecake a bit firm but good.

Came here on their grand opening day and the wait was pretty crazy. Yes they advertise almost everywhere. Waited 45 mins for the half price cheese cake. I got the mocha cheesecake. Regular price $7 and on grand opening day $3.50. The cheesecake was very delicious. It has a very strong mocha taste to it. I also tried the walnut cheese cake and blueberry cheesecake. The walnut one was delicious. Good walnut flavor. The blueberry flavor was not bad. Only thing was that if you got the part with no blueberry than it was like a regular cheesecake. Also on grand opening day they have the spin wheel game and I won 10% for life or as long as I don't loose the card deal. They also have pen and mug as prizes there. Seating is limited but they have a super long table that can accommodate quite a bit of people. If you want privacy. There are tables for two people or 4 people on the other side of the cafe. Overall, I like this place and yes their cheesecake.

after happy hour close by wife wanted to sample the cheesecake at this place. they claim to the best in vancouver, so hey...lets to them to the test! we ordered the most basic flavour of all...good ole fashioned new york cheese cake! if they cant get this right or impress us, then no point going back for the rest. the cheese cake tasted light and not too heavy and sweet! the crust was not too hard or grainy either. honestly, nothing to be impressed about. its about average. ive had better ones thats for sure. for the price of $7.5 /slice...hmmm a bit pricey and not worth a repeat! nice decors and interior restaurant though. will try the coffee next time if in area. cheers! happy eating!

Woke up this morning, with a craving for something sweet. So here i am at Trees organics coffee, which my cake connoisseur recommended me. Having a huge sign on the window stating that it was the "Best cheescake in Vancouver" i had no other choice but to try their cheescake. Ended up ordering both the blueberry and NY cheescake. Althouth the appearence of the cakes were rather rough there werent many lumps, and the taste was on point. The texture were smooth, just real smooth. Upon entering the mouth, the cake would just slowly melt in your mouth while seamlessly caressing your taste buds. Perfect spot to drop by for tea time or a quick slice of cake. Must eat!!

Worse service ever Pairs for a Mochaccino got a drip coffee instead Went back got screamed at They try to make me pay for it again Then got a coffee with bad milk Ended up curling with no chocolate in it They created a drip coffee with expired milk

Nice variety of baked treats and coffee. Lots of seating space and light. The cheesecake is pricey at 7.50 and pretty good, but "best in Vancouver" is a long stretch. I had the one they call sin cake with cherry and dark chocolate, and I did not feel sinful eating it!

However, the croissant itself was one of the best. Very delicious. Holiday Chocolate Kugelhopf~ dark chocolate sweet bread studded with chocolate chips, citrus peels, and almond praline, rolled in sugar. I really liked kugelhoph's dough and almond praline! It wasn't too heavy, lighter texture and praline wasn't too sweet. So, sugar coating paired with dough very well. I would like to get this one again! Overall, I really enjoyed both Christmas items. I am writing this review because my email to them went unanswered…read more I am shocked and disappointed at the way I was treated after spending $40. I am a HUGE 49th fan and love their dougnuts and coffee. Whenever I have friends in town, or someone needs a suggestion on where to visit, I always say "49th has really good coffee and doughnuts". Unfortunately, my mind has changed, and I don't see myself ever recommending this location. As an avid coffee drinker, I am pretty picky on where I choose to have coffee and love the cafe culture in Vancouver. My mom loves doughnuts and we had come all the way from Langley for a day in Kits, so I recommended we go to 49th! I spent about $40 on 4 doughnuts, 2 maple sea salt lattes and a drip coffee. The maple sea salt lattes looked beautiful and my doughnut was delicious as usual (big fan of the french crueller). Unfortunately, our maple sea salt lattes were very very strong and had no maple or sea salt flavoring in my opinion. I decided to ask the girl at the register if we could please get a different drink because it was super strong and didn't taste good. I was met with SO much attitude, i was actually shocked. I went into it very friendly and politely asked for an alternate drink as i did spend $12 on these two drinks (and life gets expensive!!). She then goes "well, you probably don't like the taste of coffee then".... I actually didn't know how to respond. But i did say "I'm a huge 49th fan and love coffee!". Then I had asked how many shots are in the small and she said "2". I then had asked if we could get a new/different drink and she goes "I'll give it to you this one time, but next time you'll have to pay." This is NOT the way to treat a paying customer. It felt so rude and accusatory. I very rarely come to Kits, so she wouldn't have recognized me and am an honest girl who works hard for my money. When the customer comes up politely, you offer to make it right. I hope the next person that comes up not satisfied with their drink is treated a lot better than how I was.

They are crusty on the outside, soft yet chewy inside, and just consistently perfect. This one was as good as all the others we've had from here. Yeah! I wanted an Earl Grey tea which IMO is a pretty basic order. Surprisingly, they did not have it. I got a green tea instead (their tea selection was very limited). And the girl who took my order, as well as the girl who rang me up at the cash, could NOT have been more aloof. I smiled and tried to make a little small talk, especially with the girl at the cash when I took out my debit card and asked how to pay (she just pointed at the tap symbol on the machine but my card is not tap-enabled. I always joke with people about this). This girl would not even look at me. Zero eye contact. No "thank you", nada. I just got really cold vibes from the two of them there at the counter. (At least when I picked up my tea at the beverage counter, the guy there made eye contact and semi smiled). (Side note: the staff at the Yaletown site have always been super pleasant and friendly, and this really makes a difference. To me, anyhow). Contrary to another reviewer's posting, the restaurant and the washroom was very clean when I visited here. No issues there. Honestly, I'm not sure I'll return to this site. There are so many cafes and bakeries around, I'd rather go to one with a warmer vibe. Or stay with my Yaletown SV.
