Trees Organic on Broadway has always been a reliable place to get a good, hot, delicious cup of coffee. I have been drinking coffee here since they opened way back in 2016. I have had coffee here with many friends and co- workers to talk about work or to chit chat about life. There are usually people here on their laptops sitting here at Trees Organic for hours. Coffee is also good to go too. My favorites are the pecan cranberry muffin and the vegetable breakfast wrap. All the food is good. Staff are polite. A comfortable place to drink coffee or to drink coffee with a friend. read more

First impression was not good upon seeing all the baked goods, which were mostly loaves, wrapped in plastic. It turns out the baked goods are brought in frozen and thawed as needed. We had our standard Americanos which were reasonably good and a slice of banana loaf and lemon blueberry loaf. The lemon blueberry loaf was ok considering it was not fresh, we were hungry so we ordered a second one, which turned out to be a mistake. The banana loaf and 2nd slice of lemon blueberry loaf were not great, I'd say they fall into the category of 'they make the coffee taste better but otherwise why eat them'. The condiment area had loose sugar in an open container that you take with a spoon, that i always find strange and not sanitary. Plastic water jug and glasses that seemed out of place in a west side cafe. There was also no chocolate, cinnamon or other coffee finishing touches. We had the pumpkin cheesecake. The cheesecake had minimal cheese taste and that was why the texture was light and fluffy - similar to Japanese style cheesecake. We could taste the pumpkin flavour but we were disappointed that they did not use much cheese (otherwise the cheesecake would be thick). It seemed that they used the flavour to compensate for the lack of cheese. It was a rip-off to charge $8.35 for a 'cheesecake' slice of this quality. read more

Tree Organic Coffee is located on West Broadway and Fir Street. It's bright, modern and clean coffee shop. I just finished lunch across the street and saw Tree Organic opened at the corner. As dessert lover, I definitely loved to check it out. We still so full from lunch but wanted get few pieces of cheesecake to go. Apparently, the portion of cheesecake way smaller than before. Thanks to their generous giveaways, I received a free 6 inch cheesecake from Trees and got to choose one of their delectable delights. I picked the Sin which was dark chocolate and cherry since it looked like the best of both worlds and when i ate it at home, it was pretty good! the top and sides were a tad bit dry but the rest of the cheesecake was light and fluffy. The crust is not too sweet while the creamy centre which hardly has any chocolate had a nice smooth texture and complemented the cookie crumb crust perfectly. Overall, I loved the cheesiness of the cake itself although a very decadent dessert. read more

Best Cheesecake in Vancouver is such an impossibly high reputation to live up to, especially when bestowed upon oneself. In fact, touting one's own cheesecakes as the best in Vancouver is pretty much setting your customers up for disappointment (even if it were the best cheesecake in the city, which....I hope for Vancouver's sake it is not). Personally a fan of the underpromise overdeliver approach, but this review is not about the cheesecake. It's about the amazing service I received from Aaron on the phone and in person. Aaron is super friendly and went out of his way to help me obtain a forgotten receipt, which I very much appreciate. Quick, actually helpful, and looks like he is enjoying his job--these are the people who will make a shop successful and will most likely be successful in their own lives as well. Stars for Aaron! Incidentally I did try the key lime cheesecake and chocolate raspberry (I think that's what it was), and both were fine. Was expecting more from 'Vancouver's best cheesecake', especially in relation to the crust which I found too thin and flavourless. Came here on their grand opening day and the wait was pretty crazy. Yes they advertise almost everywhere. Waited 45 mins for the half price cheese cake. I got the mocha cheesecake. Regular price $7 and on grand opening day $3.50. The cheesecake was very delicious. It has a very strong mocha taste to it. I also tried the walnut cheese cake and blueberry cheesecake. The walnut one was delicious. Good walnut flavor. The blueberry flavor was not bad. Only thing was that if you got the part with no blueberry than it was like a regular cheesecake. Also on grand opening day they have the spin wheel game and I won 10% for life or as long as I don't loose the card deal. They also have pen and mug as prizes there. Seating is limited but they have a super long table that can accommodate quite a bit of people. If you want privacy. There are tables for two people or 4 people on the other side of the cafe. I went there yesterday morning for a coffee and a breakfast sandwich. I ordered their eggs and ham, burrito sandwich. And coffee by mid-afternoon. I was beginning to feel queasy and by dinner time I really didn't feel like eating very much. But I ate dinner. Anyway. I sleep in my car. I woke up with diarrhea in the middle of the night. after happy hour close by wife wanted to sample the cheesecake at this place. they claim to the best in vancouver, so hey...lets to them to the test! we ordered the most basic flavour of all...good ole fashioned new york cheese cake! if they cant get this right or impress us, then no point going back for the rest. the cheese cake tasted light and not too heavy and sweet! the crust was not too hard or grainy either. honestly, nothing to be impressed about. its about average. ive had better ones thats for sure. for the price of $7.5 /slice...hmmm a bit pricey and not worth a repeat! nice decors and interior restaurant though. will try the coffee next time if in area. cheers! happy eating! read more

Astoundingly poor service. My boyfriend ordered a mocha and paid. I stood at the counter for about 2 minutes while the girl who took my boyfriend's order ignored me and giggled with the male worker making the mocha. I realize she's not paying attention and say, "excuse me, could I get a coffee from you please?" She turns, annoyed, and says "ok". Both coffees were lukewarm. read more

The good: I had a great ham and cheese breakfast wrap here. It was put in the panini press and was perfectly warmed up. The eggs were really tender and it was a perfect morning breakfast on the go, and I really loved the little salsa that came with it. Add some spinach or kale in there and it would be 10/10! Their coffee is also pretty tasty, and I love that it's organic. Also the cookies are good too. I got the macadamia nut one and it was HUGE, plus really soft and chewy. A bit on the thin side, but still did the trick. The meh: The cheesecake! I've tried the mango and the berry cheesecake, and it just didn't do it for me. I really like cheesecake normally, but I'm not going to waste the calories at this place. It had a bit of a weird texture - sort of gummy, not really fluffy. Too dense, but not really very creamy at the same time. The fruit flavours didn't taste fresh either, like they were a syrup or other processed topping. They claim to have the best cheesecake in town. False!! The cheese cakes taste like pure sugar and not enough cream cheese. I've gone here twice and twice I've been unhappy. The presentation is good, but the taste is not there. Ive had their chia tea and caffe latte, both good. Prices are on the expensive side for everything. The cheese cake is outrageously expensive for what it is. The place isn't super inviting, but its usually filled with people. They do have a cute little patio with two tables. I liked sitting out there with my friends, people watching on a sunny day. The service is great! They are friendly, kind, helpful, everything you want in staff. Woke up this morning, with a craving for something sweet. So here i am at Trees organics coffee, which my cake connoisseur recommended me. Having a huge sign on the window stating that it was the "Best cheescake in Vancouver" i had no other choice but to try their cheescake. Ended up ordering both the blueberry and NY cheescake. Althouth the appearence of the cakes were rather rough there werent many lumps, and the taste was on point. The texture were smooth, just real smooth. Upon entering the mouth, the cake would just slowly melt in your mouth while seamlessly caressing your taste buds. Perfect spot to drop by for tea time or a quick slice of cake. Must eat!! read more

I love Trees coffee. The location downtown on Granville is my favorite, but I'm happy they've got a shop in this area too! The staff here are great, super friendly and nice. The coffee of course is fantastic. The shop itself isn't huge, but it's bright and airy, and suits the neighborhood. Lots of fresh baked goods and yummy looking cheesecakes! read more

This review is for their famous cheesecake only (they literally have a sign outside the shop that says Vancouver's best cheesecake) because that was all I got and I got it to go. Now I remember when Trees was a coffee cart outside the Brighouse branch of the Richmond Public Library. I remember big $5 slices of the best New York style cheesecake I'd ever had, and after trying the ones at this location, I still think they are, but I was disappointed to see that the slices at this new location were so small, especially at $7.50 per slice. This was my first time at this location and the first time I'd visited any Trees in a couple of years so I don't know if that's just how they are now (and they wouldn't be the first food item that's become smaller in portion and higher in price), or if it's just this location in particular. I think their cheesecake really stands out because of how balanced it tastes. We all know cheesecakes are probably one of the heaviest, richest types of cakes you can have but they achieve this kind of richness without it feeling too heavy. I could easily eat a huge slice of this without feeling like it was too much, which is how other cheesecakes taste to me. It's also neither too sweet, too tart, nor too cheesy. Bad Management I worked in this shop for a few weeks and the owner was HORRIBLE. She was rude towards employees, demanding, and not very friendly. She has cameras everywhere and monitors the employees on her phone. Any little thing that is done incorrectly or not to her satisfaction, she sees and mentions. She demands perfection, which is understandable, but she only pays minimum wage and is unkind and rude to her employees. One day I was touching my hair while I was in the back doing dishes, and she saw this on the camera. The next time I came in my hours were completely reduced (I was basically fired). She said I "wasn't happy and didn't have a positive attitude"- It's impossible to be happy when every little thing you do is picked on. Let me just say- I was a hard worker. I LOVED coffee and I loved people. I was a great employee. Instead of telling me she had a a problem with something I was doing- she just fired me. She would ask us to do something one way, then she wouldn't do it herself. She also would try and save money by making regular employees do the baking (instead of hiring a baker) and not pay us extra for that work. We were all paid minimum wage. She also would try and save money by serving old expired cheesecake and restricting the use of certain items (such as the cream or chocolate sauce). This trees coffee also didn't have all the discounts and specials as other Trees since the owner was trying to save money. She was so demanding and rude towards me that oftentimes I would go home upset. Please DO NOT support this business and DO NOT TRUST THE OWNER. She needs to learn that treating your employees bad in Canada will not make you successful in this country. If your employees are happy and feel comfortable, that's when your business will truly do well. read more

Came here to meet someone and was extremely disappointed they didn't have any soup. They barely had any food to be honest. They advertise a slip of the day and then there is no soup! Today was their grand opening. I came for their soft opening earlier in the week, however, this was the big blow out. The line up was at least 45 minutes long for 50% cheese cake and specialty drinks. I am a huge fan of their cheesecakes, however, found them a little pricy, therefore, I bought a few slices and froze them to eat during the year at half the cost. Worth the wait and savings. Today I decided to stop by and try something different while on my lunch break. I ordered a breakfast wrap to go. I was asked if I wanted it quote, "warmed and grilled". I said sure. The wrap was microwaved first then placed on the sandwich press/grill. It took about 15 minutes to warm. My lunch break was half an hour. The service was friendly and all smiles but the wait was too long. Please spend a few more $ and get a quicker grilling machine, one that at most takes 5-6 minutes and please let your customer know it make take several minutes to warm. By microwaving the wrap first caused it to go mushy. When I did receive my wrap the barista did not wash her hands after bussing the condiment stand and collecting dirty dishes. Don't think I'll be going back here in the near future. read more

Went in today for a coffee and a muffin and was very disappointed. Dark roast coffee was watery and luke warm. Cranberry pecan muffin had no cranberries and only a few pecans on the top. It was basically a tasteless glob of muffin dough. Huge fan of the Arbutus location and will continue to go there instead. read more

I usually come here in the mornings to get my Americano. I used to think that they have the best coffee! I prefer it more than any other place. However, i was very disappointed today. I ordered a double Americano (I'm a regular customer!) but forgot to add the drink as a "to go" so the barista poured the Americano into a cup. To my dismay it looked a lot less than what I normally get for a 12 oz sized cup. I clearly saw the discrepancy from what I normally get. The worst part was when I tasted it! It didn't taste like it usually does. It was COMPLETED WATERED DOWN and hardly seemed to have even one shot inside! I drink Americano quite frequently and can tell the difference between average to very poor, especially at the same location!!! So when I told the barista and the manager about this, they dismissed it as "not having enough water" and offered more of that. I tried to explain that it was the taste and not the water that was the issue. But they dismissed it and didn't want to get into it let alone make another one! So I went back to the barista after a couple of minutes of sitting down and told her very politely that I am very surprised that this drink turned out so bad, because when I normally get it, it tastes much stronger and flavourful given that I paid for a double shot!!! She just blamed it on the consistency of the ground coffee beans and that it may be an issue with the machine today. Even if that's the case, I wondered why she can't offer me another drink to make up for it? I realize that it's a franchise and not Starbucks, but it should be noted that their customer service is lacking and that a loyal customer who's been spending more than a hundred dollars (seeing as a double Americano there is nearly 4 dollars!!!) on their coffee since the last few months deserves at least that! Now I have to contemplate whether it's worth going there anymore...by the way, this is the W Broadway and Fir Location! read more
