First off -- the cup ! With sleeve was/ is but I g my hand wth ! Second ... a large Americano is the sz of a Starbucks grande for the same price as a venti . And no where near the taste . Tastes burnt and no amount of cream helped . I tried . Won't do it again . Love n learn ... yuk! NOTE: I got about 1/4 way through this coffee and it just kept on getting worse . Not sure WHY I thought it may yesterday better as it cooled .. it didn't . Was even worse . I do not recommend the americano . At . All .

I had their lighter roast coffee and it was still pretty strong. But the coffee was still good. With so many coffee places to choose from, this franchise seems to specialize more with the bean than the frappes. That's a good thing. They've got a nice balcony and a few tables inside. As this neighbourhood community develops, places like this will be the gem spots to hang and read a paper and have casual conversations. Coffee shops seem to inspire the essence of the mind. Conversations seem to just flow better. So if you live in the area and need that inspirational thought. Drop on by for a java and some jive. Maybe your next prose will bring greatness and all because of the bean, the JJ Bean.

Love this place. The staff are great, the muffins are mouth watering (chocolate chip zucchini!!) and you can't beat a grilled sandwich/salad combo for lunch. The coffee is pretty strong so I usually get an almond milk latte or a London fog. There is limited seating but they have a nice patio area and plenty of free street parking nearby. Come early for the best selection of baked goods.

They were showing each other the flavors, and shapes, and designs. Sweet plus savory. Cutting them in half and sharing. It was the least we could do to bring these high quality goodies, made by high quality bakers, to these high quality nurses in the cardiac unit for my mother-in-law. We were so impressed with the staff at L'atelier. They know their stuff and their recommendations are top notch. The bakery itself is so cute and modern and fun. I loved that you could sit outside even in the rain because they have stellar permanent awnings.

Unfortunately, this one was a bit disappointing. The interior was overly moist, the caramelized crust lacked the crispness I was hoping for, and the honeycomb structure wasn't very well developed. Overall, it was just average. We also ordered the Strawberry Pistachio Tart. The strawberries were fresh with a nice balance of sweetness, and there was a good amount of pistachio chunks. However, it lacked the layers of flavor that make a tart memorable. On the bright side, the coffee was excellent and easily my favorite part of the visit. I'd happily come back for a coffee, but I'd probably try different pastries next time.

Designed in classic - and classy - French cafe style, you know you're walking into something meaningful. You're first greeted by shelves of French products. Lots of olives. We came for bread and pastries so we simply bought pain du jour apple and walnut, two danishes and a latte. (I personally think they should change it to French with cafe au lait. At least that's what I grew up with in Vancouver until the invasion of SB.) All were very good nut the made to order sandwiches at the next table were so presentable that I must try nextby

As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by shelves stocked with French jams and a variety of imported products for sale, which adds to the authentic feel. The menu is surprisingly extensive for a café, featuring quiches, sandwiches, and other items made fresh to order. We kept it simple and ordered lattes along with two Danish pastries. Everything was delicious, especially the pastries topped with fresh fruit. The vintage paintings on the walls and soft French music create a warm, relaxing atmosphere. This is easily one of the best French bakeries I've visited.

My favorite cafe in North America to date. === Food === I ordered an iced pineapple matcha with oat milk which was mind blowing. My family got a hot matcha and an americano which they both said was great. The matcha was well presented and had perfect ratios - the color was vibrant and you couldn't taste the milk or water at all, it was so so good. I also ordered the caprese toast and it was probably the best caprese I've had, tied with Oven & Shaker in Portland when they had it on the menu. My family got the overnight oats and a croissant and said those were both good, but I think the caprese was the standout. === Service === I went on a holiday so there was a long line out the door but we still managed to snag a seat at the front. Food and drink didn't take that long. Friendly service, although they had pineapple matcha written with dry erase marker on their menu and when I asked for it they said it wasn't on the menu (but luckily they still had it). === Ambiance === Parking might be a little hard but the interior is very beautiful and they have a separate section for those who want to use their laptops and not. They ask that you use your laptop for a maximum of an hour.

This time on my visit, I got the pistachio matcha latte with soy milk (hot), and the ham and cheese croissant. The latte had a really nice matcha flavor, and was the right amount of sweetness for me. I couldn't really taste the pistachio at first, but after having a few more sips, I noticed the slightly nutty flavor. I would definitely get this again. The croissant was nice and flaky, and had a good amount of filling in it. It was seasoned well and I liked how the cheese oozed out a bit too. The customer service here was friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. I accidentally forgot to mention that I wanted to sub the milk for soy, and they were happy to change this as they were making my drink.

Parking is available on the side streets. The place has that bare modern hipster look, with concrete floors, high ceilings, and white tiles. Tables are of the old vintage wood type. Metal chairs aren't the most comfortable, but they do the job. Seating is adequate. There is a hidden section with more seats tucked away in the far corner. Layout is a bit strange in this respect. Staff are friendly. No complaints. Coffee is pretty decent. The place also has brunch and sandwich options, but I didn't try this time.

There were lots of free spots available during the early afternoon mid-week (which is rare for most Vancouver cafes) and there's even a little nook in the back with a big table that's great for co working! We opted to sit in the front which was perfect because it had outlets and pretty good wifi. As for service, the staff were all super attentive and friendly so can't ask for anything else here! While the drinks we got were good, the food was a little lacking to me - I got the Margherita croissant which had no taste and was just an oily mess - but perhaps I just got the wrong thing. I'd try something else next time!

Unfortunately, the drink itself was quite disappointing. Since it's vegan, it was made with coconut cream instead of dairy, but the overall flavor was light and bland. The coconut foam didn't add much richness, and for a $9.50 drink, it felt underwhelming. It reminded me more of wheatgrass than matcha.
