Nice modern coffee shop on Fraser at 27th. This is a local chain with several locations. Can't believe I didn't know this location existed for several years. Parking is available on the side streets. The place has that bare modern hipster look, with concrete floors, high ceilings, and white tiles. Tables are of the old vintage wood type. Metal chairs aren't the most comfortable, but they do the job. Seating is adequate. There is a hidden section with more seats tucked away in the far corner. Layout is a bit strange in this respect. Staff are friendly. No complaints. Coffee is pretty decent. The place also has brunch and sandwich options, but I didn't try this time. read more

There were lots of free spots available during the early afternoon mid-week (which is rare for most Vancouver cafes) and there's even a little nook in the back with a big table that's great for co working! We opted to sit in the front which was perfect because it had outlets and pretty good wifi. As for service, the staff were all super attentive and friendly so can't ask for anything else here! While the drinks we got were good, the food was a little lacking to me - I got the Margherita croissant which had no taste and was just an oily mess - but perhaps I just got the wrong thing. Coffee was amazing, not over roasted. The place is big, with lots of seating space, and tables were apart from another, giving enough space to talk and move around. They have a few breakfast items, some sandwiches and other food so there are some items to satisfy your hunger. The staff was friendly and quick. They have seats/table when you walk in, a bar along the window and some other tables around the corner. There aren't too many table though so it can sometimes be hard to find a seat. Drive by this establishment on a very regular basis and finally stopped by. I liked the clean industrial look of the place with high ceilings and plenty of natural light. And of course the 49th Parallel coffee. The service was great & the staff were very pleasant. I did not get a chance to try the menu items this time around but will do so the next time. What happened Prado?! I used to love coming here. How the staff is cranky, the beverages are very inconsistent and you no longer take CaSh?! Don't pretend that it's due to COVID either. Came here for a coffee/brunch date recently and it surpassed my expectations in terms of food but was a little lacking in service. We shared a waffle with nutella, the prado breakfast (avocado on toast with a poached egg and arugula) as well as a ricotta and proscuitto toast with a side of poached egg. All the food was delicious, especially the ricotta on toast and the price was not unreasonable (being around $10 a person). Unfortunately, it took forever for the waffle to come and we didn't dig in until everything arrived so the sourdough was a bit soggy from sitting there. I love this shop, we stayed at an Airbnb close by but didn't come about this small gem until after getting coffee at Tim Horton's and Starbucks. Their almond milk latte was amazing. So rich and creamy at first I thought it was real milk and had to ask to make sure. If you are staying around downtown Vancouver skip the franchise shops and go here you will love it! Mu husband had old school dark roast coffee and toast with poached egg and bacon. Old school dark roast coffee: I am not a coffee fan and I don't know why it named "Old school". But my husband said it's ok, just like normal dark coffee. Toast with poached egg and bacon: This costs $5.5. If you want a cheaper deal, you can make your own combination of toast or waffle or a granola with sides. When a husband knew his wife would choose something a bit expensive, he would choose something cheaper lol. It's not bad in general but the bacon was a bit cold. I had chai tea and grilled cheese sandwich. Chai tea: the flavour of ginger was quite strong. It was just warm but not hot. I would give a "OK". Grilled cheese sandwich: it was soooo good. The mix of cheddar, bocconcini and parm made it so delicious. The pickles were a bit too sour on their own but good to have them with the sandwich. The salad dressing on arugula was vinegar mixing with something else. I can't tell but I like it. A good breakfast gives you power to start a day. Power up! read more

Love this cafe! Prado cafe and kitchen serves parallel 49 coffee beans and an array of high quality tea. The hubby and I came here for an afternoon snack and coffee while attempting to get some work done. There's plenty of space here to accommodate up to 40 guests in a comfortable setting. Their food menu is so simple yet healthy. For $6-$7, you will get 2 poached eggs served on avo and arugula toast. They also have sandwiches and salad, all right up my alley. We sat right in front of the kitchen for an hour and the chief was busy preparing food the entire time. Although I didn't try their food but I think I have a good idea given how busy the chief was. My only complaint was the temperature of the cafe, it was cold. Will definitely make a stop here for breakky next time I'm in town. read more

Now that I'm back in SoCal, I'm definitely craving the delicious vanilla almond milk latte that came from Prado Cafe. The vanilla they used was so incredibly perfect. It was sweet and tasted REAL. In my short weekend trip to Vancouver I made it to Prado twice and definitely would have been happy coming back here more often than that. Aside from their amazing coffee (vanilla is a must try, latte and flat whites were both equally delicious!) their food was also great! I had their avocado toast and it was the perfect portion for me. It was light, healthy and delicious. The perfect start to a fun adventurous day exploring Vancouver! I will say, however, that some of my friends definitely could have been happier with heartier portions. Me however, I was one happy camper. Good place to read a book, get a little work done, or have a conversation. Serves almost the same stuff as the Commercial Drive location but much less busy and crowded. Coffee and drinks are OK (49th parallel), pastries are ok, good selection of sandwiches. They also have sparkling water on tap. Pretty friendly staff and plenty of street parking. Perfect place to hang out a bit just away from the hustle and bustle parts of East Van. Slightly longer hours would be nice but I'm not sure they would have that much business. read more

I've been told the 49th and Parallel beans are for an acquired taste and to appreciate when black. I'm starting to appreciate the slight sour note at the end. The latte is very well made. Food wise, they offer a lot of options. I only tried the soup ($4 only!) so far and it was VERY good. The cook even came out leave it at my table and gushed about the soup a bit very enthusiastic as he encouraged me to try it. Setting wise, there's lots of space between tables and and plenty of seats available. I never have to worry being disturbed or not getting a spot for myself. The service is very good. They are quick to clear and wipe the vacant tables and are always friendly when they're approached. Location I like since there's plenty of free street parking. The one bathroom is maintained for it's cleanliness pretty frequently by the staff. read more

The folks over at Prado Cafe have quickly opened up a third location in the Kensington-Cedar Cottage neighbourhood. From owner Sammy Piccolo, Prado is wasting no time in carving out their piece of Vancouver's crowded but ample coffee market. Adding the "Kitchen" to its title, the new location is upping is food service with brunch items like toast and waffles among other light mid-morning treats. Their flat white was on point in its milky crisp taste brewed from the familiar 49th Parallel coffee beans and served in those trademark blue cups. neat, modern cafe space with fair seating. they have a great selection of pastries, making it a bit hard to choose... i ended up ordering a liege waffle and a cappuccino. ive heard about how 49th coffee is an acquired taste and i get what they mean-- its more on the sour side, but i didnt have a big problem. the baristas are skilled, showing off cute hearts and rosettas in the drinks. the liege waffle is a bit tiny, but the taste itself is fine. get it warm, i recommend it! (doesnt need a topping of icing sugar but they give you the option) service is great! i think its pretty cool that they collect donations to the SPCA. read more

I like this space. It's large but not too loud. It's more relaxed than other new cafes and they offer a good variety of in house baked goods. The coffee quality is excellent, as it should be, given that the owner has been in the industry for so long. I just wish they offered more gluten free items. Something savoury from nearby Gluten Free Epicurean would be nice. Sweets don't always fill the gap. read more

I have visited all three Prado locations and this one may be my favourite. Larger space, food offerings, and delicious coffee. I ordered an almond latte and was very pleased with the creamy micro foam and strength of the espresso. Two minuses - the clerk offered the tourist behind me a "locals" discount, but did not mention anything to me; and secondly, since there is a food menu and less than desirable exhaust system, you leave smelling like food. Specifically, hints of sulfury egg and bacon, even if you nor no one close by consumed either of these products. Nevertheless, this is a great location and cafe / eatery, I would return for a snack, breakfast, or waffles with my coffee. read more

Whenever I have to go to a coffee shop to do some work, Prado is a favorite because anywhere down Main st. (49th Parallel, Starbucks reserve, etc.) will likely be packed on a rainy Saturday/Sunday but I've never had to wait for a seat at Prado. It's still busy, however, but I like how they serve food at this location as well. Their menu consists of breakfast food, lunch food, waffles, to great pastries with GF alternatives as well. I'm definitely a fan of this place and will choose Prado consistently over Bows x Arrows next door because these guys have way more plugs for people who need to work - not to mention a lot more selection in food. I usually opt for the drip coffee and it's pretty standard, nothing too special. Wifi is always great here too, which is a bonus! Definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a good coffee shop with a nice vibe to work at. read more

New coffee shop on Fraser Street. Great addition to the hood. This place came under my radar as I saw it reviewed on the front page of Yelp on July 31st and book marked it for future reference. I came here tonight with a client on the way who was hungry and needed to discuss an important business matter with me. They stop serving breakfast and lunch after 2, something that's not written anywhere. I had a tea to go, however, moved over to the coffee shop across the street due to the food issue. I absolutely could not understand the girl at the til and it was the worse communication struggle. The place has ample seating and free wifi. Good selection of pastries. read more

The coffee shop consists of white walls mixed with wood furniture adored with the Tiffany turquoise coffee mugs makes for a very Instagramable cafe.
