This bakery was right down the road from our hotel and we visited at least 3 times. I was so glad that they have a variety of sugar free syrups for the coffee, the sf caramel was so good in my Americano. The spinach & yam frittata was so unexpectedly good! And I enjoyed the banoffee tart, the Copenhagen roll, and kuffle. My friends loved the earl gray donut and apple fritter. We also loved the blueberry almond chia pudding, I enjoyed the apricot chicken salad sandwich and lemon shortbread cookie. Everything was worth coming back for. All the girls there were so helpful and friendly. There was hardly ever a line. I took so many pastries home to share!

Great west end location on your way to English Bay / Stanley Park I always come here for apple fritters (gigantic!), strawberry filled donuts, cookies (kuffles, gluten free peanut cookies & granola cookies) plus savoury veggie or spinach pastries. Also a good deal on full cakes & pastries such as apple streudels, cheesecakes & etc. They've got a plethora of coffee and tea choices. The women all work hard & are highly efficient at this place ~ its always hoppin! Has a handy side (paid) connected parking & small outdoor eating (covered) spot. Limited seating inside with wifi I always return to this location! (FYI, was previously a Dairy Queen)

London fog + chocolate hazelnut donuts

We made a quick stop here to refuel after biking around Stanley Park. It's definitely busy and in a good tourist location. The salted caramel mocha was tasty and nice on a cool day. Both donuts we got (london fog and chocolate hazelnut filled) fell on the dry side. I am not impressed by their pastries, as they lack freshness. The drinks are decent though!

If you're searching for a reasonably priced meal or snack, Breka Cafe is your place. Everything from soups to sandwiches to sweet treats and coffee galore. Prices are affordable. Seating is limited. Open 24/7. Food is delicious and I defy you to leave without sampling their yummy baked goods. The aromas when you walk in the door are all you need to know! This place is the real deal.

It was warm and fluffy and the right amount of sweetness. Beware as other locations don't have their own kitchen so you won't get fresh donuts like the ones at Granville. There is a huge variety so it can be a bit overwhelming! I would simply just go for the classics, you can't go wrong. The wait was also fairly quick, it was less than 5 minutes for a Wednesday morning! The staff were friendly and I didn't feel too rushed.

After trying the Gastown location and enjoying the donuts, we decided to order some more here since we were in the area. Visiting on a Monday in the middle of summer during lunch, there was surprisingly no line at all. During previous visits to Granville Island, there was always a constant queue so I was quite surprised. Ube Cream Cheese ($3.75) - I wasn't originally going to order this donut, but couldn't resist after seeing a new tray coming out with fresh donuts. I got the very first one, although I think the tray probably was sitting out for a while waiting to get decorated before being brought out. While there's just a bit of pleasing crusty crisp left over on the exterior of the cake donut, it's not super fresh. The donut itself is flavored with plenty of ube extract, giving a superior earthy ube flavor. On top they use a layer of cheesecake icing, tangy and sweet, to cement on some toasted ube donut crumbs. The donut is very sweet, great to satisfy any sweet tooth. (4/5) Double Chocolate ($3.75) - This donut had clearly been sitting out for longer than the Ube Cream Cheese since I found the cake exterior to be soft throughout rather than crusty. What sets this donut apart from other chocolate cake donuts is the use of espresso powder in the base to really bring out the chocolate flavors, not to mention adding a mild complementary coffee taste. (4/5) I have to say that I don't like this location as much as the one in Gastown. They still sell some pretty tasty donuts though! Food: [4/5] Service: [ ] Other: [ ] Final Rating: 4/5

Well it seems ownership has changed and the new owner doesn't give two craps about prior customers, honoring discounts, replying back timely or being more friendly? Was playing email tag and finally submitted the 39 flavors and didn't hear back until after another week and then told they won't deliver only in morning when they know our reservation was for 730pm and they're open until 9? I even replied back and nothing. We own and run several business in lower mainland and in United States and this customer service from Unni Pastries is trash. At least you can do is reply back and apologize? For wasting time when I specifically told you it's for family and friends flying into town for a funeral burial. Will never use their business again. I highly suggest Mello. They replied and helped me out last minute. Shame on you! Learn how to run a business and treat customers esp previous customers who were supporting the business and fellow Krn but it's clear the new owner doesn't care about the customer or quality it's all about quantity. Maybe my 39 donuts which I offered to pay extra for time and packaging wasn't large enough but money is money. Especially during this time and economy. You should've at least replied back and even tried asking us to do pickup as the restaurant is down the road. Do better! Go to Mello which isn't too far and they bake fresh daily better pricing and reviews and consistency!

According to the website, this chain is named after the owner's golden retriever. It sure looks happy. Parking is available in front of the building, as well as along various village side streets. Staff are friendly and cheerful. No complaints. The doughnuts are a bit pricey but they sure are delicious. I really like "Asian" style doughnuts as they are less sweet than their western counterparts. I had the matcha cream and could definitely taste the matcha. We joined the crowd on a sunny Monday afternoon, hoping to score some of the most iconic donuts in Vancouver. While the line was long, almost to the door, it flowed smoothly and quickly, allowing us to starting chomping down on the freshly baked treats a scant 10 minutes later. Honey Dip ($3.75) - This donut has a bice soft and fluffy yeast interior, not as cloud-like as some other donut shops, but a good lightness nonetheless. It'ss essentially just a normal glazed donut with a hint of honey. It's really not that strong of a flavor, either in smell or taste. (4/5) Halo Halo ($3.75) - This donut is filled with a thick mango jelly. It's thick enough that it doesn't squeeze out like some other cream-type donuts. The topping consists of an ube cream studded with plenty of toasted coconut. The cream is oily and easy to manipulate; it's soft and probably vegetable oil based rather than butter given the consistency. (4/5) Let's be realistic - Lee's Donuts was bought out and corporatized a decade ago, expanding through the Vancouver metro like crazy. I had never visited before this expansion phase began, but I can say that donuts are donuts, and fresh donuts are always delicious. Lee's is no exception. Don't let the looks fool you as the sandwiches' appearances fall kind of short. However, both sandwiches were delicious. Starbucks could never. ‍ The Doug Sandwich - a full bodied sandwich consisting of scrambled eggs, bacon, cheddar cheese, caramelized onions and tarragon aioli. I thought this sandwich would be too heavy, but the brioche bun is light and the scrambled eggs are really fluffy. The Avo Sandwich - a lighter sandwich featuring fried egg, avocado, cheddar cheese, sun dried tomato pesto, tarragon aioli and mixed greens. Also a good choice! The cafe was clean and they have a water dispenser available for customers. Service was ok, but I think they were just a bit busy.
