This was an online order - the address in the correspondence is 8330 Chester Street, South Vancouver, BC. Please note they ship only on Tuesday to US so if you placed the order on a Wednesday, it will wait until the following Tuesday. I made multiple calls, the only option they offered was should we CANCEL your order! Somehow the chocolates reached my child, it was supposed to be a SURPRISE - spent over $150.00 and this is what she received! Don't like to use the word common sense why would you leave chocolates on the door in hot weather with one SMALL ice pack - result is as follows below. No notification on my end or doorbell or even an attempt to THINK these will melt! read more

Purdys Chocolatier - Never Again! - Chocolatiers & Shops Near Me - Vancouver, British Columbia

I used to pick up the chocolate over their head office. I picked up some white chocolate bars for my nephews since my wife was shopping around the mall. I would not worry about the consistency of their products. Haha! But the try out their new product! ? I remember not all of the Purdys has carry the new product. Eg Dubai. I told my wife should try it. But this store doesn't know this new product Dubai ! read more

Great chocolates always loved them and have been a fan for many years. Always been 5 star to me. However, one challenge that really irritates me - I purchase over $300 -$400 worth of chocolates each Christmas for client gifts. $300 this year as money is tight. Last week they want to charge me $.20 per bag - really, and at the point of purchase! What a fantastic marketing campaign by Purdy's. They actually charge you $.20 to walk around and advertise their company free of charge. I feel gouged and disrespected, my loyalty especially. Purdy's I'm extremely disappointed and feel it's a BAD marketing move when you are nickel and dime your faithful clients. You've lost a very faithful customer. I will no longer be supporting you. read more

Purdys chocolates are well known for their quality and I regularly shop at the Pacific Centre location, mostly for special occasions and holiday gifts purchasing. They have very knowledgeable and kind staff there, with excellent customer service. I have recently had the best Easter shopping experience, when their manager Samira went out of her way to help and meet my needs. I confidently recommend this Purdys chocolatier location in particular to my family and friends! read more

Glen was so friendly to my kids. They wanted ice cream flavours that weren't available but he did ice cream bars for them with chocolate dip and sprinkles that were just the right price point for me. Kudos for your cheerfulness and great service, Glen! read more

Have you heard of ruby chocolate lately? They are getting trendy for the past few months, and it creates sweet treats with pink coating. The pink color is natural, with no food coloring or fruit flavorings. Purdys Chocolatier, a Vancouver-based chocolatier, recently launched some new confections featuring ruby cocoa beans. The latest products are Ruby Cherry Almond Bar and Ruby Praline, crafted from 100% sustainable ruby cocoa. Both items are launched Canada-wide on September 13, 2019, the International Chocolate Day. They will be available in all retail stores and online. I first tried the Ruby Praline, which is made with smooth almond praline, coated with a ruby cocoa shell. It is creamy, with a hint of saltiness from the almond praline. Although there is a good amount of almond puree in the chocolate, the saltiness overpowers the natural tart, fruity flavor from the ruby coating. Compared to the Ruby Praline, I enjoy the Ruby Cherry Almond Bar more. The tartness of the ruby chocolate is highlighted with the addition of cherries. The roasted almond also adds texture to the chocolate bar. As I mentioned before, ruby chocolate is not sweet, so I really love this new creation. *** Overall Impression *** It has been a while since I last tried treats from Purdys Chocolatier. And this time, the addition of the Ruby Chocolates surprises me. Overall, it is a nice addition, and I really enjoy the Ruby Cherry Almond Bar. But if you like that saltiness in your chocolate (imagine like peanut butter), then Ruby Praline is the way to go! Taste: 4/5 * Quality-Price: 4/5 read more

I went here for a quick icecream fix on Wednesday and I ordered Raspberry Cheesecake ($3.95 in a cup) icecream for a single scoop. I enjoyed the taste if it. I didn't have any problem until something crunchy in the ice cream. I didn't like the icy texture of freezer burn and I was almost done eating it. Staff was friendly though. read more

This is the See's Candy of . Their chocolate is so rich and delicious. Ice cream is excellent for your taste buds too. Fun Canadian chocolate chain to visit. Love the purple everywhere, the huge selection, and multiple price points including deals on buying 3 bars. Kids really liked the burnt caramel white chocolate bar, and I was happy to find a dark chocolate covered marzipan bar. Great that the ingredients are responsibly sourced; employees are friendly. Looking forward to trying more items next time. read more

First of all I am NOT a chocolate lover by any means. When patients bring See's and Ghirardelli to my department at work, I always decline. It doesn't even tempt me in the least. But there's something about these magical little Purdy treats... I found myself eating one 5 min after I woke up one morning, telling my fiance with a mouth full of sticky caramel, chocolate and pecan delight, "Damnbabe...*nom-nom-nom-nom-nom-nom-nom* Weshouldgetmoreofthese." "What did you say?" "Nothingnothing...*nom-nom*... shhhhhhhhhhh...*spraying out pecan flecks*... Don'truinthemoment..." We saw this brand somewhere and read it's a Vancouver local brand, so we wanted to get some as gift for people and for ourselves. We lives in a hotel in downtown area and saw there's a store nearby. Walked over to the address listed on Yelp, turned out it's in a shopping mall CF Pacific Centre. Walked around in the mall and finally found it on the lower level. The address listed on google and yelp says V7Y 1E7, doesn't help at all. There's no samples to try in the store, we just blindly trust it's gonna be good. We got milk and dark chocolate selection for gifts. And got a bar of white chocolate with barley for ourselves. Turns out the barley white chocolate bar is pretty good. Barley is quite crunchy and even though it's white chocolate, it's not super sweet. Was a bit sad didn't try the ice cream, it looks pretty good. read more

If you're craving for local ice cream that's so delicious and creamy then try this one out! I don't like ice cream that much and I also don't crave for it but if you haven't tried purdys yet then you just have to give it a shot! I also love their chocolates! They're so good as well!!! Local chocolates that melt in your mouth with a thousand flavors to choose from! They're also very generous with samples! You could taste all the flavors, for the chocolates , sadly they're not like sees candies that gives or hands out chocolates samples the moment you walk into their store! My favorite ice cream here is vanilla and strawberry yes they may be boring flavors but you should try them first! My favorite chocolate is the Himalayan pink salt milk chocolate with salted caramel! The caramel is not too sweet and the milk chocolate just melts in your mouth! It's so good!!! I also love their ice cream that you dip in almonds and dark chocolate! A must try as well! read more

Omg this place was SOOO good!!! We walked by and had to stop by because of the delicious chocolate smell. Then we noticed they have ice cream and Ice cream bars!! We ordered ice cream popsicle bars which are vanilla, covered in chocolate and nuts!! It was so good I cannot get over it. The vanilla was so creamy and had the right amount of sweetness to it. The chocolate was creamy and milk chocolate. And the nuts added the perfect crunch! Yum! I would highly recommend grabbing dessert here!! read more

Not impressed. I had a taste of the milk chocolate and the dark chocolate. To me- it was like eating Hershey's chocolate. Don't get me wrong- it's chocolate and it's good. But why pay 5 times for "specialty" chocolate that tastes like the cheap stuff? It's no Godiva. However-some of the gift sets are packaged nice. (Again not worth the price) And could be a good gift, for those of you who are clueless about what to get for your secret santa, loved one, or for a random person. read more

Wow Purdy's has good ice cream. I got a single scoop in a waffle cone, dipped in crushed peanuts and it was only $3.75. Also, a pretty good portion for a "single" scoop. I could never have finished a double. They don't have a lot of flavours, but I can't imagine why anyone would get anything other than chocolate. It has chocolate chips in it. read more

Purdy's chocolates has only two products that stand out. Their very famous chocolate hedgehogs and their delicious peanut butter chocolate fingers. The rest is just BLAH...... YUCK.... FORGET ABOUT IT... because they're no better than stuff you can get at the drugstore or discount grocery store. I absolutely hate Purdy's chocolates with cream fillings as they're insanely sweet to the point that your teeth will experience pain. Very pointless, like eating pure white sugar. read more

One word: Ice Cream (OK, two words) I'm the odd one that hangs out at Purdys for the ice cream not the chocolates. Sometimes they have some rocking great flavours, sometimes . . not so much. Their ice cream selection tends to be hit and miss but considering that the alternative in the mall is Dairy Queen, I'll take my chances here. read more

Having tried most of the popular, fancy chocolatiers over the past few years, I recently re-discovered Purdy's and my love for this place! Excellent selection, flavours, textures, and all round great quality for an outstanding pricepoint [versus other shops]. It doesn't have to be the highest grade of belgian or cadiveu to be successful. I spent a good chunk of $ here over the summer, for my birthday, and treated former coworkers to some goodies. If I buy enough, the girls often give me extra treats on the house ;) Love: pear lemon caramel, cherry caramel, almond caramel, strawberry rosa read more

Quest to Eat Vancouver's 101 Best Things Item: Sweet George Browns Price: $4.00 / pack (contains 2) Cuisine: Chocolate and more chocolate (and ice cream too) Worthy of being on the list - ohhhh yah! Comments: You know how there are drinks such as Salty hot chocolate and Sweet and Salty granola bars? This beats allll that... it can get pretty salty, but the sweetness just melts in your mouth makes everything taste soooo chocolicious! I would have to say for two chocolates (the size of those turtles).. it's a little pricey. They have other chocolate bars that you can buy in sets of three which may be more worth it.. but it's definitely worth trying :) read more

Ever need that chocolate fix in the middle of a shopping spree. Well that was me last night and of course Purdy's was right there. What a sight for sore eyes! I got my sugar boost in a minty bar and was able to get the fiance a nice little surprise too. He's always saying how I never think of him when I am out shopping for myself so Purdy's you helped me prove him wrong. Now this isn't your high-end, gourmet chocolate but it's the next best thing. If you haven't had a Sweet Georgia Brown then you don't know what you are missing. Of course, being close to Christmas they have loads of pre wrapped boxes filled with these delicious little bits of chocolate. They also carry a variety of diabetic chocolates too, so you can share with everyone. The service was also fantastic. The cashier was friendly and oh so nice. I will definitely be back to this location. read more

Location: In the heart of downtown, but I can't remember the name of the mall - Pacific, maybe? it's very easily accessible by foot and is located on the bottom floor. Service: OK. I can't say that anyone actually asked me if I needed assistance while I was there, but they weren't unfriendly. It would have been nice if someone had come over and made some suggestions. The 3 stars is largely due to the lack of service. Chocolate: Purdy's is well-known out West for their yummy selection of chocolates and I have sent many a Tweet asking them to set up shop in Montreal. Alas, this has not come to fruition (but they DO ship across Canada!). Purdy's offers a wide variety of chocolatey goodness, from dark to milk, ganache-filled, cream-filled, nut-filled - you name it. They offer pre-made boxes in various formats where you can purchase assortments, or one specific type of chocolate (i.e. Melties, Georgia Browns etc.), as well as various chocolate bars (hello PEANUT BUTTER!). You can purchase single pieces or build your own box if you like. I really enjoy their chocolate. Unlike the Laura Secord chain over here, which has gone downhill fast over the years, Purdy's seems to care about quality and you don't feel like you're eating some generic crap. It's quite good for the value. In addition to chocolate, Purdy's offers ice creams that are so damn good, I would give my right arm for one. We're talking a vanilla ice cream bar that is triple-dipped in chocolate people ! And THEN they coat with a thick layer of crushed, toasted almonds. Ho-lee foodgasm! Note: You may want to skip breakfast and lunch if you plan to get one of these. I'm sure the calorie count is way up there! Definitely a good place to stop in and pick up some gifts for the chocolate lover in your life. Price: Average. I can't say it's more or less expensive than any other chocolate shop. It's more affordable than the specialty shops. read more

Purdy's is kind of ubiquitous and not all high-end and gourmet, but dammit, I love it anyway. Who couldn't love a purple and gold box of chocolate hedgehogs with the truffle-like centre? Or the divine peanut shaped chocolate bar filled with peanut buttery goodness? Or best of all, one of their ice cream bars rolled in melted chocolate and nuts? If you're stuck for a gift idea, and you don't want to spend a fortune, you can't go wrong with some Purdy's. Most people love them, and they're a local company, too. They even have sugar-free chocolates made with maltitol, a sugar-derived alcohol, for diabetics and others who can't eat too much sugar. All the stores are fairly small, and this location is particularly claustrophobia-inducing due to it's high-traffic location in Pacific Centre. Ah well, the elbowing must work off a few calories. Right? read more

Located in the middle of Pacific Centre, close to the food court you cannot resist but smell the chocolate as you walk by. I have been craving some ice cream, and remembered how good the dipped bars were. They use to be able to do the chocolate dipped bars with peanuts and sprinkles! But due to allergies they have stopped. But nevertheless they're amazing! Make sure you get the bar with both white chocolate and dark chocolate, add peanuts! I find that the sprinkles are a little too sweet for my taste buds. Price is average, and the employees are always so friendly. The store is very well organized and clean, they even have a really cool chocolate fountain. Cannot wait to come back for more ice cream! read more

Purdy's is one of those places tied closely to childhood memories. The Purple box meant either my Grandmother was in town, or we were at the mall buying icecream with my father and making fun of people. Erm.. I mean, people watching... I am a chocolate addict what do you want me to say !!!!! Yummy! The store features a decent selection of no-sugar-added stuffs. I like their hedgehogs: taste pretty much like the real thing... I mean, like real chocolate hedgehogs, not real hedgehogs. Well, I don't know because I've never eaten hedgehogs. They also have some no-sugar-added chocolate bars, on milk and dark varieties, with or without almonds or mint. I like the milk+almond one. I've come to appreciate Purdys as a place where to get occasional chocolate goodies while keeping my glucose under control. They're not entirely sugar-free, but they're low enough that eating a hedgehog or 1/3 of a bar doesn't really impact my glucose levels. Obviously, YMMV. read more
