Stopped by for some shopping and chocolates while in Vancouver...one of the local favorites is Purdys Chocolatier. Nice variety of chocolate and and plush mascot. Cute. couldn't resist picking up some goodies while friends enjoyed the hand dipped chocolate ice creams. Will come back next time in town.

Have you heard of ruby chocolate lately? They are getting trendy for the past few months, and it creates sweet treats with pink coating. The pink color is natural, with no food coloring or fruit flavorings. Purdys Chocolatier, a Vancouver-based chocolatier, recently launched some new confections featuring ruby cocoa beans. The latest products are Ruby Cherry Almond Bar and Ruby Praline, crafted from 100% sustainable ruby cocoa. Both items are launched Canada-wide on September 13, 2019, the International Chocolate Day. They will be available in all retail stores and online. I first tried the Ruby Praline, which is made with smooth almond praline, coated with a ruby cocoa shell. It is creamy, with a hint of saltiness from the almond praline. Although there is a good amount of almond puree in the chocolate, the saltiness overpowers the natural tart, fruity flavor from the ruby coating. Compared to the Ruby Praline, I enjoy the Ruby Cherry Almond Bar more. The tartness of the ruby chocolate is highlighted with the addition of cherries. The roasted almond also adds texture to the chocolate bar. As I mentioned before, ruby chocolate is not sweet, so I really love this new creation. *** Overall Impression *** It has been a while since I last tried treats from Purdys Chocolatier. And this time, the addition of the Ruby Chocolates surprises me. Overall, it is a nice addition, and I really enjoy the Ruby Cherry Almond Bar. But if you like that saltiness in your chocolate (imagine like peanut butter), then Ruby Praline is the way to go! Taste: 4/5 * Quality-Price: 4/5

This is the See's Candy of . Their chocolate is so rich and delicious. Ice cream is excellent for your taste buds too. They have enough locations in the western part of Canada and some in the eastern part, Ontario. Bought some for home, and they were all a hit at my work, family and friends. Try it, you'll love it !

We got a waffle cone with green tea ice cream and had them dip it in white chocolate sauce adding rainbow sprinkles When we first requested this combination the lady was confused but now we ask for it every time. Today the gentleman working was happy to create our ice cream design for us ice cream Flavours vary according to the rotation of the ice cream that are in inventory.

Love the new spot....or it's been awhile since I usually shop at the Oakridge one, closer to home, in a bad way lol. Ground floor, close to food court, corner location to walkway outside to Howe st. The half white chocolate/half dark bar dipped in nuts can't be beat!

If you're craving for local ice cream that's so delicious and creamy then try this one out! I don't like ice cream that much and I also don't crave for it but if you haven't tried purdys yet then you just have to give it a shot! I also love their chocolates! They're so good as well!!! Local chocolates that melt in your mouth with a thousand flavors to choose from! They're also very generous with samples! You could taste all the flavors, for the chocolates , sadly they're not like sees candies that gives or hands out chocolates samples the moment you walk into their store! My favorite ice cream here is vanilla and strawberry yes they may be boring flavors but you should try them first! My favorite chocolate is the Himalayan pink salt milk chocolate with salted caramel! The caramel is not too sweet and the milk chocolate just melts in your mouth! It's so good!!! I also love their ice cream that you dip in almonds and dark chocolate! A must try as well!

Omg this place was SOOO good!!! We walked by and had to stop by because of the delicious chocolate smell. Then we noticed they have ice cream and Ice cream bars!! We ordered ice cream popsicle bars which are vanilla, covered in chocolate and nuts!! It was so good I cannot get over it. The vanilla was so creamy and had the right amount of sweetness to it. The chocolate was creamy and milk chocolate. And the nuts added the perfect crunch! Yum! I would highly recommend grabbing dessert here!!

O.M.G... S.G.B... W.H.Y.B.A.M.L.Y.S.L.D.S. ?!?! Translation = Oh My God... Sweet Georgia Browns... Where Have You Been All My Life You Sneaky Little Delicious Sneakersons ?!?! First of all I am NOT a chocolate lover by any means. When patients bring See's and Ghirardelli to my department at work, I always decline. It doesn't even tempt me in the least. But there's something about these magical little Purdy treats... I found myself eating one 5 min after I woke up one morning, telling my fiance with a mouth full of sticky caramel, chocolate and pecan delight, "Damnbabe...*nom-nom-nom-nom-nom-nom-nom* Weshouldgetmoreofthese." "What did you say?" "Nothingnothing...*nom-nom*... shhhhhhhhhhh...*spraying out pecan flecks*... Don'truinthemoment..." Thank goodness there are Purdy locations sprinkled around everywhere in Vancouver. It makes it pretty convenient when you get that 'you will stop at nothing in order to get one of these things' craving.

Not impressed. I had a taste of the milk chocolate and the dark chocolate. To me- it was like eating Hershey's chocolate. Don't get me wrong- it's chocolate and it's good. But why pay 5 times for "specialty" chocolate that tastes like the cheap stuff? It's no Godiva. However-some of the gift sets are packaged nice. (Again not worth the price) And could be a good gift, for those of you who are clueless about what to get for your secret santa, loved one, or for a random person.

I love the dipped ice cream bars here. If you're ever in need for a treat while shopping, or something cool to munch on as you stroll around downtown, grab a dipped ice cream bar. Make sure the try the double dip, dipping the ice cream bar in White AND Dark chocolate ... mmm! Really good! I like the fact that this is a Canadian company, nothing wrong with supporting Canadian companies!

We stopped by on our first day exploring Vancouver, and Breka being open 24/7 is already a win. We grabbed a mix of drinks and pastries to share. - Chocolate-Dipped Almond Croissant -- thin chocolate shell that added a unique texture - Cheddar & Chive Scone -- moist, not dry like most scones; loved the cheesy top and chives baked into the dough - Mango Coconut Mousse -- refreshing and clean-tasting, though a bit sweet for an Asian palate - Apple Strudel -- classic and simple; powdered sugar + big apple chunks - Almond Croissant -- super flaky with plenty of marzipan filling - Cretzel Ham & Cheese Melt -- croissant-meets-pretzel fusion; panini-pressed perfectly with melty cheese and ham - Steak & Cheese Panini -- solid; chipotle mayo and green peppers gave it a nice kick - Chai Latte -- light and well-balanced - Hot Latte -- creamy with the perfect coffee punch - Bienenstich (Honorable Mention) -- I wanted this so badly! It's a German classic with a crunchy honey-almond top and creamy vanilla filling sandwiched between two yeast cake layers. They only sell it whole, but an entire cake is just $16.50 CAD ($11.70 USD!) -- an unreal steal Breka bakes everything fresh daily, and you can taste it. This location was popping on a Saturday morning. Plenty of seating, though we snagged one of the last tables for four. There was a bit of a line, but it moved quickly. If I lived in downtown Vancouver, Breka would have my money every weekend.

Tried the pistachio donut which was amazing and fluffy. We also got the steak and cheese panini and a French toast sandwich. Personally, due to the cheese and ham being very limited in the French toast sandwich; the sweetness was overpowering. The steak and cheese panini was delicious but I would prefer that it was warmer on inside.

It's right beside the Performance Works building. I don't know how long this shop has been here, but in all my life I've never noticed this place until now. I happened to have just come out of an afternoon show at Performance Works and as I was walking away from the Performance Works building, I happened to turn my head and see this shop, so decided to check it out. They're a small shop/ workshop that does tours which teach how chocolate is made. When you walk in, you can smell chocolate in the air. The lady in the shop offered some samples of their chocolate. I tried their Tanduay Rum chocolate and their Earl Grey Tea chocolate. According to their website their chocolate is award winning. To be honest though, I wasn't blown away by what I tasted. It wasn't bad but it also didn't taste to me like it was award winning chocolate. I noticed a sign though that said they had a drink which was part of the Koolfest. This is a new festival that started this year and is a celebration of cold drink creations from vendors of the annual Hot Chocolate Festival. Kasama's creation was a Filipino Cacao Husk & Kape Cold Brew with Vanilla Cinnamon Syrup and Ube Cold Foam. I hadn't had any Koolfest drinks yet, this one sounded appealing and to be honest...I'm the kind of person who tends to feel guilty about taking free samples and then not buying anything! So...having sampled the Tanduay Rum and Early Grey Tea chocolates, I decided to buy a Koolfest drink. Not much of a coffee person usually. This might be only the second time I've ever ordered a cold brew drink. I very much enjoyed this drink! For me to enjoy a coffee beverage, it has to be sweet and this one was sweet...but not excessively sweet. I loved the Vanilla Cinnamon flavor in it. It really hit the spot.
