We stumbled upon ChocolaTas at the Granville Public Market. I'm always looking for fine chocolate and the presentation is what drew me in. They're located toward the middle of the market and not too hard to find. Everything was neatly packaged and perfectly designed. You could get chocolates prepackaged or select your own assortments. I decided to get a few small boxes and decided not to leave a review until I actually tried the chocolate. While I was sold on appearance, they by far surpassed any chocolates looks wise on my trip, I still needed to taste them. So obviously I gave them five stars! So amazing, and high quality chocolates in every way. They had the cutest little tins all ready for Christmas and all sorts of other Christmas chocolates. The man working was also super nice and helpful in our selections. Now I need to make a trip back for more!

A specialty chocolate store located in Granville Island, their bright chocolates caught our eye so we got a few singles to go. Unfortunately like macarons, they were finished in a single bite but an absolute delicious mix of flavors in every bite. I'm not sure how often I would come back just because they were about $2 per bite.

If you are in Grandville Public Market then need to visit the Chocolatas store inside the market. They have variety of cute and unique design of chocolate. Each come with different flavor and crème inside. You definitely won't find these unique chocolate anywhere else. It's so pretty and amazing to bite into the choco.

This shop caught my eye when I was browsing through Granville Public Market! They offer a variety of really interesting flavors here. Some of their chocolates are dome shaped, some have contemporary designs on them, and some even have cute animals on top! Since these chocolates were pretty expensive, I just bought a small box that I was able to customize. I chose the dark salted caramel, the ladybug (hazelnut cream), pepper and mango, and a dome-shaped one. The lady behind the counter put it in a pretty teal box with a white bow that reminds me of a Tiffany box! These chocolates make great gifts- too bad I didn't share LOL.

The Chocolate has pretty good flavor to them. Had the Mojito Mint & Rum and that was not bad. I could taste the rum more than the minty mojito flavor. I like the color of the chocolate. Next one up was the Earl Grey Tea, the earl grey flavor was not that strong. maybe its probably because I had it right after the Mojito. Next was the Green Tea. the green tea is a lighter taste. Would be good refreshing. But I can't really taste too much of the green tea. Maybe I should have ate the chocolate in a different order. Last one I had was the Dark Ganache. I like that dark chocolate bold taste. Overall the chocolate were not bad. But I have had better and smoother chocolate. Tastewise it was interesting. I would recommend this place to friends.

With the beautiful and diverse selection of chocolates, it's hard to walk by chocolatas without at least trying a few pieces. Although a little pricy, the flavours are delicious and so interesting, and the quality is clearly great! My fave was the whisky pear, but my family loved all the ones we tried. Service was also very good - the lady who helped us was so patient and friendly as she recommend flavours based on what we liked and even offered a free sample.

Was looking for a unique gift for a friend back home when I saw this shop and couldn't resist the cute designs. They all looked like little pieces of modern art! I picked up a small gift tin with flowers for my friend back home. I was pleased with such artful chocolate presentation and cute packaging that I didn't have to look any further for that one-of-a-kind gift. Très chic!

Legit chocolates!!! Price is right and flavors are there. Got three boxes of Chocolatas Holiday boxes and store gave us extra bonus of limited edition of Belgian Delights - very good gesture and delicious chocolates. THANK YOU. Whole purchase costed about $40 but every last piece worth it :)

Not only does the chocolate taste good, but it visually stimulating. It might be a little pricey for these chocolates, but with all the designs, is not it worth it? $18.00 for the Vancouver Time Tin. The salesman was very nice and congenial. He told us how this place won the local chocolate contest this year and the competition was pretty close to their competitor, who surprisingly uses their chocolate. o_O He gave us each a sample of the chocolate since the ones we bought were souvenirs. I don't like chocolate much, especially dark chocolate, but the one I received was surprisingly tasty and creamy. Mhmmm! Wish there was one back home... -Granville Island location

We stopped by on our first day exploring Vancouver, and Breka being open 24/7 is already a win. We grabbed a mix of drinks and pastries to share. - Chocolate-Dipped Almond Croissant -- thin chocolate shell that added a unique texture - Cheddar & Chive Scone -- moist, not dry like most scones; loved the cheesy top and chives baked into the dough - Mango Coconut Mousse -- refreshing and clean-tasting, though a bit sweet for an Asian palate - Apple Strudel -- classic and simple; powdered sugar + big apple chunks - Almond Croissant -- super flaky with plenty of marzipan filling - Cretzel Ham & Cheese Melt -- croissant-meets-pretzel fusion; panini-pressed perfectly with melty cheese and ham - Steak & Cheese Panini -- solid; chipotle mayo and green peppers gave it a nice kick - Chai Latte -- light and well-balanced - Hot Latte -- creamy with the perfect coffee punch - Bienenstich (Honorable Mention) -- I wanted this so badly! It's a German classic with a crunchy honey-almond top and creamy vanilla filling sandwiched between two yeast cake layers. They only sell it whole, but an entire cake is just $16.50 CAD ($11.70 USD!) -- an unreal steal Breka bakes everything fresh daily, and you can taste it. This location was popping on a Saturday morning. Plenty of seating, though we snagged one of the last tables for four. There was a bit of a line, but it moved quickly. If I lived in downtown Vancouver, Breka would have my money every weekend.

Tried the pistachio donut which was amazing and fluffy. We also got the steak and cheese panini and a French toast sandwich. Personally, due to the cheese and ham being very limited in the French toast sandwich; the sweetness was overpowering. The steak and cheese panini was delicious but I would prefer that it was warmer on inside.

It's right beside the Performance Works building. I don't know how long this shop has been here, but in all my life I've never noticed this place until now. I happened to have just come out of an afternoon show at Performance Works and as I was walking away from the Performance Works building, I happened to turn my head and see this shop, so decided to check it out. They're a small shop/ workshop that does tours which teach how chocolate is made. When you walk in, you can smell chocolate in the air. The lady in the shop offered some samples of their chocolate. I tried their Tanduay Rum chocolate and their Earl Grey Tea chocolate. According to their website their chocolate is award winning. To be honest though, I wasn't blown away by what I tasted. It wasn't bad but it also didn't taste to me like it was award winning chocolate. I noticed a sign though that said they had a drink which was part of the Koolfest. This is a new festival that started this year and is a celebration of cold drink creations from vendors of the annual Hot Chocolate Festival. Kasama's creation was a Filipino Cacao Husk & Kape Cold Brew with Vanilla Cinnamon Syrup and Ube Cold Foam. I hadn't had any Koolfest drinks yet, this one sounded appealing and to be honest...I'm the kind of person who tends to feel guilty about taking free samples and then not buying anything! So...having sampled the Tanduay Rum and Early Grey Tea chocolates, I decided to buy a Koolfest drink. Not much of a coffee person usually. This might be only the second time I've ever ordered a cold brew drink. I very much enjoyed this drink! For me to enjoy a coffee beverage, it has to be sweet and this one was sweet...but not excessively sweet. I loved the Vanilla Cinnamon flavor in it. It really hit the spot.

The lady behind the machine clearly knows what they're doing, because every cup is spot on. The sandwiches can be a bit hit or miss, but our recent visits have been great. The smoked salmon croissant is served cold (they always check if that's okay), and even so, it's one of my favorites. The portobello sandwich, served warm, is also rich and full of flavor.
