We visited Angus T in Yaletown on the Saturday morning after Christmas. The streets outside were quiet, but the shop itself was packed and lively, filled with people chatting and enjoying pastries. The display case was fully stocked with delicious options when we arrived. We ordered a latte, which was excellent and not too bitter, with two croissants: the Almond and the Chocolate Raspberry. Both were fantastic--crispy on the outside and perfectly layered on the inside, with just the right amount of filling. These were easily some of the best croissants I had on this trip. I definitely want to go back and try other flavors next time!
Christmas Season Special Items - Christmas Tree Croissant. Christmas tree croissant with Strawberry jam. The dough was incredibly crispy! So addictive. Compared to other bakeries which used cream very often,, their filling was strawberry jam. It was pretty good! The jam did not ruin the dough's crispiness and sweetness was well balanced. Overall, I really enjoyed this croissant. They offer variety type of croissant which looked so delicious.
To take shelter from the pouring rain, we stepped into Angus T. London Fog: Silky and just the right amount of bittersweet. The warm cup of London Fog was just beautiful to hold in both hands and sip after getting drenched in rain. Pistachio Raspberry Croissant: Loved the fruity raspberry filling blanketed in flaky, buttery crust. The pistachio cream piped on top of the confection was so smooth and nutty that I wished there were more of it. Savoury croissant was decent, but it could've tasted way better if it were warmed up.
loved the flavors of both croissants! the exterior was crispy and the inside was very soft but tastes quite bready (in a good way for me). decently sized but leans on smaller end of the spectrum considering the price. can grab and go with cute boxes or stay and eat, lots of seating available. staff gave me some good recs for picking the flavors.
It still my favorite croissant shop in Vancouver! The outer layer was crispy yet the inside layers were flakey and buttery. - Matcha: the matcha cream filling was delicious! It had the perfect sweetness - Earl grey: the tea flavor was subtle - Lemon curd: the curd had a perfect acidity & sweetness. The meringue on top complemented the whole flavor perfectly. - Double baked almond: still my favorite! The almond pieces on the outside gave an extra crunch to the croissant. The almond paste inside was sweet and delicious!
As always, just as good as I remember. Popped in at 4pm and there were only 3 filled croissant flavors left- blueberry, black sesame and hazelnut chocolate. The black sesame is incredible, not too sweet and the croissant wasn't too flakey (end of day). I'm a big fan and will always continue to be one since everything is always so good.
Delicious Coffee and Croissants! A must visit as lines ate long, i would recommend coming as early as possible to secure the goodies and a seat. It looks like it fits about 15 ish guests. Seating is in the back. Its a warm wooden vibe inside. A good stop for a cafe lover.
I love croissants so had to try Angus. I went on a Saturday afternoon and no line so I was able to get a couple of croissants without waiting long. The croissants were not as large as I had hoped. The pistachio one was delicious but the chocolate raspberry one was not as crispy and maybe a tad too sweet for me. There was a bit of seating for what seemed like a small shop but it's deep and went back a bit. There's a variety of options so it's a good option for something sweet but at $6+ per croissant, probably a bit much for some people.
Walked by seeing these massive croissants with asian flavours and could not resist. While they are still yeasty croissants, the croissants are super fluffy but crispy on the outside, inside the flour was super rich. Probably my favourite yeasty croissants, partially because the butter was top notch. The black sesame croissant was well balanced, not too sweet =). There was alot of black sesame cream as well! Coffee was ite, just get the croissants.
Popped in here for a quick little treat as our first stop in Vancouver! We got the pistachio raspberry croissant to share which was delicious!! Staff were very friendly and the cafe was super cute! We went based on an ad we saw on the train in from the airport and were not disappointed. Would definitely go back!
Came to Angus T in search of breakfast near my hotel. I had seen posts of a variety of sweet croissants but in the morning, they had mainly savory croissants available. I chose the pistachio raspberry cream croissant - light and airy with a raspberry filling the was not too sweet and some delicious pistachio cream. There is seating inside and you can even watch them working in the kitchen. I'll have to come back later in the day to try their earl grey, black sesame and green tea croissant!
I honestly want to gatekeep this place but I think it's gone viral on social media. I saw this place when I was looking up croissants on ig. And I knew I had to try this place. It's small but I love the open kitchen and the many varieties they have. We came here twice once in the early morning and once in the afternoon. We did notice for morning croissants they had more savory options which we love and then in the afternoon they had the full lineup for sweet ones out. The first day we ate there and we had an earl grey croissant and black sesame. Let me tell you, this was a life changing croissant. I love arsicault in sf and I live near it and I go whenever I have the chance, this place rivals it and might even be better. These croissants are crisp, airy and buttery. Even with filling inside it tastes so buttery and airy. The early grey cream was not too sweet but packed a punch with the tea flavor. Black sesame flavor was strong and also not too sweet. These croissants were literal perfection. We loved it so much we came back the next day to grab a few more before we left Vancouver and it was still just as good. The next time we come back to Vancouver, we are coming back for more! We also tried another croissant place down the block and we didn't like as much as angus t. Their matcha lattes and coffee are also pretty good, loved it! Total for 2:$24

If you're into croissants with unique flavors, this is definitely the place to go. This cozy Yaletown spot offers a wide variety and seems to be well known for its creative selection. They also have solid coffee options. The service is decent, and the ambiance is pleasant--making it a nice spot to sit down and get some studying done. Grand opening on Valentines Day at the new River District location where they had a promotion of 20% off for the day. My boyfriend lined up at 9:30am for a 10am opening and there were already 25 people ahead of him. By the time the store opened, the line was over two blocks long. I heard the line up was up to 2 hours long later that day so to say that Angus T is a hit is a bit of an understatement. This is a cute location where the emphasis is on sweet and savoury croissants but they offer Danish, cinnamon buns, tea, and coffee options. We ordered the limited offering of the strawberry creme croissant plus got a regular croissant, onion jam & bacon, pistachio & raspberry, and ham & cheese. All of these croissants were DELICIOUS and the regular croissant brings me memories of Paris! Yes, they are pricey but at around $1.50 to $2.50 more than a croissant from Starbucks a block away, it is well worth it as a treat. I look forward to tasting more flavours and taking friends here to catch up over a delicious croissant and hot cup of tea. The River District neighbourhood needed a cute café like this and so glad they are finally open. Pro tip: if enjoying the treats at home, reheat the croissants in low heat. A few croissants left an hour before closing and the cafe stayed packed! Blueberry croissant reminded me of a toaster strudel (in a good way) and black sesame croissant had the perfect amount of sesame flavor in a not-too-sweet pastry cream. Definitely worth a visit! read more
My favorite croissant bakery in Vancouver! The texture of the plain croissant says it all -- impossibly flaky and crispy, while being moist in the inside. What sets them apart for me is the sheer variety and consistent execution of the flavors. Tried the blueberry and the hazelnut this time, and both were filled perfectly! angus t is located on mainland, in the heart of yaletown. the interior of this tiny bakery is modern and cozy, with an open kitchen, you can see the bakers working diligently behind a large window. the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. the croissants here are hand crafted daily, resulting in light, crispy, flaky layers and a generous amount of unique flavour fillings. i dropped in on a sunday, around 3:00 pm ish, and they were almost sold out of their croissants. i got the hazelnut coffee and scored the last black sesame croissant. the hazelnut coffee croissant had a rich, nutty filling that complemented the buttery layers of pastry perfectly. it was a delightful blend of textures and flavours. the black sesame croissant, with its unique, earthy taste, was a pleasant surprise and offered a nice contrast to the sweetness of the hazelnut coffee. despite arriving late in the afternoon, the croissants maintained their freshness, highlighting the quality of the ingredients and the care taken in their preparation. it's clear why they sell out so quickly; the combination of crispiness, flakiness, and generous filling makes these croissants a standout treat. read more

I have wanted to try Angus T ever since I moved to Vancouver and saw their advertisements on the SkyTrain and finally had my chance. I was craving something sweet after my CELPIP and low and behold stumbled upon Angus T. I was greeted with a smile and the genuine Canadian welcomeness I've come to know and love. I ordered their lemon curd to-go, so I can truly enjoy it in the privacy of my own home. So flaky and delicate with the right amount of tartness. Enjoyed the browned meringue on top and glad I ate this alone as I had meringue on the tip of my nose for the next hour! Next time, I will croissant. read more
Great croissants in yaletown. Fun flavors, quality and fresh pastries, great lattes! The shops is small and cute, a few tables to sit and eat. You can see back into the kitchen as they make the pastries- which I love because 1) it's aesthetically pleasing and fun to watch; 2) There's more accountability! The service is wonderful, with many friendly faces here. It can get busy, but they keep things rolling pretty well. All in all, I'll probably keep going back because I love the coffee. It's worth a try, for sure, if you're in the area and have some time for a sweet treat! read more
Tried this famous croissant bakery for the first time. I visited shortly after they opened and they had all the savoury croissants out, but the only sweet croissant was the almond. The raspberry pistachio croissant came out somewhere around 8:15-8:30, but that was it for the sweet croissants by the time I left a little after 8:30. They also had the plain and apple cinnamon buns and a few other Viennoseries. I was a little disappointed there weren't more sweet options, but decided to get the apple cinnamon bun and a chai latte. The cinnamon bun was very good. It was soft and fluffy, obviously very fresh. It wasn't too sweet. I thought it was skimpy on the apple. There weren't quite enough apple chunks to even get a piece in each bite. The chai latte didn't wow me but it was okay. It was very cinnamon-y. I find their prices reasonable. Not cheap, but for an artisan bakery downtown definitely not a bad deal. The open kitchen is kind of cool. If you like watching bakers work you can sit at a counter looking right into the kitchen, but there are also a handful of regular tables if you prefer that. I guess I can't count on getting the sweet stuff in the morning, but I would come back again if I'm craving for something savoury to see if they better live up to my expectations. read more

We had to return for one last visit before leaving Vancouver. This time, I went with the Earl Grey croissant, and hubs had to have the chocolate raspberry one again. He also ordered the Bacon and Onion as he wanted to try a savory option. All of them were very good and very flaky. The savory was filled with bacon and onions, and the sweets were not too sweet. All were so good. Tempted to buy a box full, but I don't think my waist or hips would forgive me if we did that. read more

Came here when another bakery was closed. What a gem of a find! Had the double almond croissant, cinnamon bun since sesame was not out yet. The menu is very innovative and the rich butter smell upon entering reminds you of Paris! read more
You cannot miss the advertising around town, on skytrain, and in digital media. Angus T is self-described as "artisanal" pastry shop. Offers treats of savoury and sweet flavoured variety. Or both. Their biggest selling point is the flavoured croissants. Among those, the best seller is the traditional "double baked almond croissants". Opted for the Gianduja Mocha and the Pistachio Croissants along with an iced Americano on this warm spring day. Both croissants are high level 'buttery flakiness' as described by my food expert partner. There appears to be a 10% discount if you were to purchase 6+ of their pastries at one time. A smallish seating area faces what appears to be a large kitchen with supposed folks preparing pastries. Empty at the time of patronage. Pricing is competitive among the "higher grade croissanteries" around town. This appears to be operated by Koreans. read more
I love, love, love this place! Their coffee is amazing and their croissants are so damn delicious! They are fresh and I love how you can see the process of making it from the glass windows, as you eat and drink. We ordered a double baked almond croissant and a pan au chocolat; and a large latte for about $16. Reasonably priced, friendly staff and amazing experience! Found this gem searching for a Yaletown coffee shop with savory croissants for a midday treat. The reviews I saw mentioned not too many places to sit but I had no problem finding a table. The open viewing kitchen gives patrons a sneak peek into the magic that happens behind the scenes. As we arrived, several large trays of croissants were leaving, I guess to some lucky recipient. You will be wowed by the croissants, they are beautiful! They also have lemon curd and a couple of non-croissant options. It is busy, a lot of customers, but most seem to be take out. True it is small, but not cramped and certainly if you arrive at the right time, you can sit down. We noticed the prices are very affordable, the coffee was great. We shared an apricot danish and ham and Gruyère croissant- amazing! Condiment station was well stocked, tables and counters were clean. The only negative was that the sugar was dispensed from large jars with spoons, the brown sugar was hard as a rock. Individual packets would be much more hygienic and fresher. Tasty croissants The croissants are delicious. They have an assortment to choose from earlier in the day and they look quite aesthetically pleasing I just don't appreciate the filling I didn't like the blueberry jam, nothing special to me ($5.65) but it does taste refreshing for those who like that The pistachio had cherry of some sort but the staff didn't mention it. She just said the filling is pistachio paste $5.65 so it caught me by surprise read more

I really enjoyed the earl grey croissant. It was perfectly crispy and flaky on the outside and fluffy in the inside. They have a variety of flavors and were displayed beautifully. For seating, you can sit and watch the pastry chef make croissants through a large window. Beautiful croissants and will be back for more. read more
Angus T Bakery & Café is one of the hidden gems in downtown Vancouver. There are no words to express my love for their pastries. They have fresh, puffy, and crispy croissants I have ever tasted. You can really smell and taste the layers of butter on their croissants. Amazing flavour! Their croissants were not too sweet, and they paired with excellent fillings. There is no doubt that Angus T is the must-visit place for grabbing a croissant in Greater Vancouver. Incredible selection and great quality! Definitely the best place in the area to go if you want to try unique flavours and an enormous selection of savoury croissants - something that's hard to come by. My only critique would be the coffee (decent but not great, especially compared to the croissants) and seating is not the most aesthetic per se but that's because this place functions transparently as a bakery and not a cafe. Definitely come after like 9 or 10am because the filled croissant are not ready at open. I was super sad and disappointed but it's not cause the croissants aren't good, I just didn't have time to wait for them. I ended up getting the tuna and corn croissant and a pistachio raspberry croissant. Both were crispy and had a decent amount of filling. The pistachio raspberry one had a layer of pistachio frangipane and raspberry filling that was rather runny as well as some pistachio cream on top. It still was fairly crispy too. Every single time I come to Angus T the Croissants are always consistently delicious!! Staff is always friendly and the inside is a bit small but the ambiance is very cozy and welcoming still!
