Food was good. I find croissants has thicker dough flavour n but heavy(moist) from fillings. Good matcha latte, was hot n nice.

I'm still disappointed with the pastries here. I came back even though I knew it was not that great for me because I wanted to sit for a while with a cup of tea and sweets. This time I had the lemon curd tart and matcha latte. The matcha latte was a bit light tasting than what I was used to. I like the lemon curd but not the pastry. It was hard to cut through. It was not light and crisp and flakey. Had it been sitting out there for too long? I also had the hazelnut chocolate croissant to go. I had it that evening and it was the same thing as the tart. It was very soft and I had to pull it apart with my hands. The hazelnut cream on top was too rich and felt oily. It was not a light buttercream. I think I have to remember not to order any pastries here in future. Just stick with the drinks. Maybe the savory croissants would be better.

They offer all kinds of croissant flavors imaginable ! All pastries at Angus T are handcrafted daily with the freshest ingredients sourced from France and Vancouver. They have a variety of sweet croissants such as Double baked almond, Black sesame, Earl grey, Green Tea, Apple danish, Lemon curd, Pistachio, Hazelnut chocolate, Dark chocolate raspberry, Blueberry. Theres are savory ones such as Ham & gruyere cheese, Spinach & feta, Chicken & tomato, Balsamic Onion Jam & Bacon and 3 cheese . We tried the green tea croissant and the filling was delicious it reminded me of a matcha cream puff . The balsamic onion jam and bacon also was super satisfying with the perfect combination of sweet and savory. I do wish it were a little more loaded though. Be sure to also check out their cinnamon buns and coffee and tea selection - there's dairy free options

So, this place had big shoes to fill. I don't know why Faubourg closed as it was a great place, but when I find out that Angus T was opening in Park Royal I was excited. Great location, great floor plan in the heart of Park Royal shopping centre in beautiful West Vancouver specializing in Croissants...what could be better, right?.......well......keep on reading.... Ok...let's put it this way....this place makes the definition of underwhelming....exciting. Even though the floor plan is still the same as the business before, the Feng Shui is so cold and so off that from the beginning of entry...you don't feel the cozy, welcoming, embracing energy that great coffee/pastry shops have. That is just completely absent here. Some technical observations....dirty windows, uncomfortable metal chairs....everything was just bare bare bare. The service was lacking, unprepared and untrained. I ordered the Spinach Feta Croissant with a soy milk latte. The croissant had no feta and the spinach was stone cold inside. Any type of seasoned spinach that is served as a filling, if not hot, must be served room temperature. My latte was lukewarm if at all....with barely a shot of espresso. Trying to gage these desperate tastes while sitting on a chair that makes military accommodations seem comfortable. Let me ask you something, when you're paying nearly 7 bucks for a croissant...do you expect to sit on bare metal to enjoy it? (see pics) Not nicely varnished wood or upholstery, but just metal. I've seen more generous seating in staff lunch rooms at Subway than that. Ok moving on.... When we first arrived, there were only a couple of people there, which seemed a bit odd, considering a new business in a city where people dine out all the time....but now I see why. Too bad.

So excited when Angus T finally opened in Park Royal! We made our trip there on one of the weekday morning and we got our nice seat perfect for people watching and it was less crowded as well. The yummy offering was beautifully displayed with plenty of options for both savouries and sweets. The girl who helped us was very lovely and polite. We picked the ham & cheese and the matcha with a nice cappuccino. The croissants have lovely lamination and texture. The matcha croissant has a lovely matcha custard filling that's just the right amount of matcha. The ham & cheese is standard in my opinion. We then tried the balsamic onion and bacon and I think that was way better than the ham and cheese. Definitely will come back soon to try different offerings.

AngusT in West Vancouver is finally open and it was certainly worth the wait! It is one of the top croissant spots in Vancouver for sure. I tried their savoury and sweet croissants and they were all 10/10. Cream filled croissants tend to be on the heavier side and/or don't have the right texture, but fortunately their cream isn't too heavy and the croissants didn't lose their texture. The croissants range from $4-$6.50

We dropped by Angus T in Park Royal one day and decided to get some croissants to bring back to Por Por's house (Grandma's) for an afternoon tea snack. Wow, it really is a popular place. So many flavors were gone already. One really needs to get there early for better selection. I still managed to snag 4 different flavors though, with the double baked almond croissant being the only repeat for us. Last time we ate the double baked almond croissant, we had saved it overnight so that we could have it for breakfast the next morning. This time, we brought everything back to Por Por's house and ate it right away. Mmm...so much better this time! Not that it was bad last time...but eating it fresh, on the same day it's been baked is definitely better! The flavor, the crispiness...everything was better this time! Service: Good Parking: Plentiful and free! Location: At the Village in Park Royal, right across from the McDonald's and Shoppers Drug Mart.

On my first visit, I wasn't sure what the Zaku Zaku cream puff was, so the staff kindly let me try a sample. I was sold immediately. The custard was light and creamy, and the choux was perfectly crisp on the outside. The flavor brought me right back to a cream puff I had years ago in Saitama. It was such a familiar taste, and I hadn't been able to find it again until now. I'm so happy I found it here. I came back the following week, but unfortunately most of the popular items were already sold out. I'll definitely be back to work my way through the rest of the menu. It's been a few years since the last time we had a non ice cream cake for her birthday. I had fun researching online where to buy her Tiramisu cake from. Looked at sizes, shapes, prices....etc. Finally settled on this Tiramisu cake from Patisserie Le Pont. Awesome choice! Very very happy with this Tiramisu cake. The coffee flavor was very strong and the sweetness level was nicely balanced. A lot of other places made their Tiramisu cakes very fancy looking. This one had the more simple, traditional look which I preferred. It also made it easier to slice and share. The one thing that could have been better...there was so much coffee in this Tiramisu that it seemed to somehow spill out of the cake and onto the cake board. This made things a bit messy. I had to search for a platter in the kitchen that would be big enough to hold the cake on the cake board as the board was too messy for us to lay it straight onto the table. Love that it was loaded with coffee, but it was possibly a bit too much or else some new method needs to be found for keeping the coffee from spilling out and making things messy. Highly highly recommend this Tiramisu cake. It was sooooo good!

Daughter ordered the same breakfast sandwich that she ordered last time along with a mocha, and I ordered the Adult Mac n Cheese with a London Fog. There were a couple of hiccups this time. First of all they mixed up my daughter's drink order. Instead of a mocha they made her a hot chocolate. It looked like a wonderful hot chocolate, with a lovely heap of whipping cream on top but it was not what she ordered. So they took it away and made the mocha that she ordered. Then there was my order. My Adult Mac n cheese comes with toast. When they asked which kind of bread I would like for my toast, I asked if I could have the curry baguette bread which is usually used for their Shrimp Melt sandwich. They misunderstood and thought I was changing my order from Mac n Cheese to the Shrimp Melt sandwich itself! Nope, that's not what I wanted. I still wanted the Mac n Cheese but was just wanting to have the curry baguette bread as my "toast" since the Mac n Cheese comes with toast. When they finally realized what I was actually asking for, they then told me they couldn't do that. They only use the curry baguette for the Shrimp Melt sandwich. So then I chose sourdough to go with my Adult Mac n Cheese. It was very noisy in the shop this time. The noise level really turned off my mom. She ate up just a bit of scone, left the rest, didn't even finish her tea and then left to go walk in the IGA supermarket nearby just to escape the noise. My daughter and I finished up as quickly as we could so that we could go join my mother in the supermarket. I left first and when my daughter came to find us in the supermarket she said the people at The Bakehouse gave us a bag with 3 cookies in it for free, as a token gift for the troubles we went through in having 2 of our orders mixed up that day. I ate one of the cookies later in the day. It seemed like some kind of shortbread cookie with frosting sandwiched between it. Too sweet for my taste but I very much appreciated the gesture. I think it shows very good customer service. Don't think we'll go back there with my mother again as we'd rather not risk subjecting her to the extreme noise level again. My daughter and I would happily come back together though as we love the food there, and were very impressed with the service. Yes, they botched up our orders but how a restaurant redeems themself from a mistake says just as much about an establishment as not making a mistake in the first place. Impressed with the recovery they made, so in spite of the mistakes...still giving them a good rating!

They serve ice cream at Savary Island Pie Company? Yup. They do now. I don't know when they started selling ice cream at this place but my bro was in the know and...well how could I turn down an opportunity for ice cream? Of course I would make room for it! When we got to the shop I was a bit confused with the setup cuz I recalled there being tables where people could sit down to eat. A bit of investigating cleared up my confusion. The space that I remembered, with tables and chairs was still around; it was just next door. It seems the Savary Island Pie Company expanded their space, and so the new space is the part that is now operating as an ice cream parlour. The guy working there was kind enough to let us sample some flavors before purchasing. After trying Apple Pie Salted Caramel and Dulce de Leche I decided to get Dulce de Leche in a cup. This is one of my favourite flavors to get when we buy Haagen Dazs ice cream. Kind of a family favourite I guess cuz a couple of other people in the family also ended up ordering Dulce de Leche!
