Quite a busy and bustling place. Super packed despite the rainy weather and full of ppl. The seating is open with some smaller tables and a bunch of common tables. We ordered up front at the counter and found a seat to sit at. Our drinks are picked up at the pick up area for drinks at the end of the counter. Food is served to where your sit as you are given a number flag. I had the rigatoni, my first bite was amazing flavor wise;I thought I was going to enjoy every bite. But after the 3rd bite I was actually finding the dish to be a bit on the salty side and had to keep taking a sip of my coffee to water it down. The pasta as well was..a tad under well I mean it was cooked but.. just. I think it was on the verge of being eldente. I think maybe 30 seconds more and it would have been the perfect texture. Over all it was ok but as I said it just got saltier the more bites I had. If you love salt then this is good for you! Wife's babaganoush was interesting. I didn't hate it. The toast was crispy, and it visually was beautiful. Very nice place to visit and if I was in the area would still go again but don't think I'll make a deliberate trip out again. read more

This place is in a very remote area and you probably wouldn't find this place unless you were actually looking for it, which is how I managed to find it. I'd heard of this place and decided to look for it! Stopped here for breakfast after dropping someone off at Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal. I ordered a London Fog and a Babaganoush Toast. Didn't get around to drinking my London Fog for quite awhile as I decided to eat my Babaganoush Toast first. I was quite surprised at how long my London Fog stayed hot. Still hot by the time I finished my Babaganoush Toast which was great. The Babaganoush Toast was lovely but honestly speaking, I've had better Babaganoush and I feel for the price they charge, it could have been a larger serving. Too much emphasis on the visual part of it. Babaganoush could have been more smokey in taste. Good thing I wasn't that hungry. It was enough for me with my small appetite but still, for the price they charge... Step outside, and it's a parking lot flex-show of supercars, the kind of place where you half expect chubby kids to hop out of green Porsches with dripping ice cream cones. The air is thick with entitlement and privilege--you feel it before you even order. As for the coffee? Mediocre at best. Nothing offensive, just forgettable. The pastries are even less impressive: dry, dated, and leaning heavily on the idea of café culture without backing it up in execution. Finally got to visit Isetta. It's such a cool concept! We visited on a Saturday afternoon and the place was quite busy. The parking lot was full in the front but there was still some street parking. We didn't know there was also a lot in the back so there's actually a lot of options. The inside was also much larger than I originally thought. They have a very extensive menu and the space was so beautiful and cozy, with both cafe and restaurant vibes. We just ordered coffees but it will be nice to try some of their menu items next time! read more

I rode by here an hour ago and there was no parking. I went for a donut in Horseshoe Bay and rode back. After getting parking, there was a 20 min line out the door and another 20-30 min wait for my food. Brunch was sold out at 11:30am precisely and you couldn't get them to make exceptions. I ordered the Isetta burger and fries. The burger is a standard diner flat top patty with American cheese on a soft bun. The fries were nice and crispy. read more

I went on a Saturday morning around 11 with a group of 4 so I wasn't hopeful that we would be able to get a seat since brunch places are usually super busy on the weekend. To my surprise, there were plenty of seats available! The space is beautiful and there's a mix of 2 person tables, couches, and longer communal tables as well so we chose a communal table. For the food / drink, they serve breakfast until 11:30 and then lunch afterwards. Between the 4 of us we tried 2 of the eggs bennys, the isetta breakfast, and a focaccia sandwich and all were delicious! I didn't get a chance to try any of their drinks this time around but would like to in the future. The service was also very quick and nice - for meals you get a number after you pay and they bring it to your table. This new spot has been on my list ever since i saw it open. It's a bit far from where i live, so i decided to venture out early on a Saturday morning. It was giving major palm springs, vintage, 70s vibes (kinda felt like i was on the set of don't worry darling). So so gorgeous! The aesthetics are defs 10/10. They've got plenty of seating, a decent menu and lots of cool details. It's tucked away off marine drive and kinda close to water views. Defs a cool location. I arrived around 9:30, there was a bit of a lineup but the cafe was empty. I ordered a 12oz iced vanilla latte ($6.50 - ouch), and a brownie ($4.75). the coffee was amazing! i've tried a lot and was very impressed. It was nice to sit and enjoy it with nowhere to be - i ended up walking the dunderave seawall right after! Service was okay but nothing amazing. This is the kinda place that grows on you. When I first walked in, I wasn't sure but after a little time I was glad I gave this place a try. I'll tell you why. They have a bar, so that's a plus right away. Their casual service actually kinda fits the vibe. Sort of a cool, hipster, I don't care if you wanna a muffin or not, all is cool kind of energy going on. So, it's very mellowing. Their Chocolate Parsnip muffin tastes much better than it looks. I really love this spot as it's super hidden and has awesome vibes. They have a breakfast menu and a different lunch menu. I went for lunch and got a few pastas, soups, coffee, and a salad. The coffee was really good. Place gets pretty packed and people like to study or do work on their computer there. The salad was lacking dressing so we had to ask for more dressing. However, the rest of the food was amazing. I love how they have an Isetta out in the front and a small museum of cars in a garage where you can peek your head through. Forget the location - this building could be dropped anywhere and people would be drawn to it! The menu concept is fabulous and on-point for a semi-Italian modern café (I am definitely coming back for the oysters and anchovy toast). I was introduced the other day to the Isetta Burger (a millionaire's Big Mac). The chef Koda prepared what was arguably the best smash burger I have ever had in my life. Such a beautiful space inside and out, thoughtful architecture design, vibe and food/drink offerings. With outside patio seating on the north and south facing sides, covered outdoor seating, bar seating and living room like seating inside, so many places to choose. The place was packed and line was long but ordering was quick, and plenty of parking on the front side and back. The menu looked delicious as well but I came already full so will look forward trying brunch on my next ride, but enjoyed my americano (great smooth flavor!) and vanilla oat latte (not too sweet) this time around. Its not often that one would find a place like this that invites you to stay a while vs grab and go. Appreciate finding places like these! read more

We had a great time going here. It is beautifully designed inside and out, and the owners have done a great job renovating the place from the gas station it used to be. Its in an awesome location, nice and quiet. Be prepared to spend a bit more than you usually would for your meal, it is on the more pricey side of things - but they are really catering to the audience that surrounds them (in a very wealthy neighbourhood). I absolutely loved their heirloom tomato and mozerella sandwhich though- like seriously so good. And their tomato soup is one of the better ones I have had. Decided to check it out on my way to Whistler... Out of cold brew by 8:40am on a Monday, argh. The vibe is relaxed. The decor is impeccable midcentury style: a lot of money was spent to create a sympathetic reuse of what had been stores and a small gas station. It would fit the Atomic Ranch style. The owners could've demo'd and started fresh for cheaper, commend them for not doing that. There's plenty of patio space. I can't give the coffee a pure review because the substitution wasn't great (iced Americano); I bought a Cappuccino afterward The baked goods, especially the miso brownie, was very good. Cool place to which I've patronized a few times before being a local resident. Has an active vibe when busy so not really a quiet or relaxing break if that's what you're seeking. Breakfast is ok but nothing inventive or outstanding. But something to avoid is the Chai Latte unless you are a fan of sediment coating your mouth with the last few sips. I asked the barista what this black sandy grit in my cup was and he said it was the spices in the mix they use. Really?? While I'm not a coffee drinker, is it ok to have coffee grounds at the bottom of the coffee you shell out $5-$7 for? The photo I've attached was of the last drops of Chai Latte from my cup as I was trying to clear the liquid and poured onto my breakfast plate so the grit in my cup was easier to see. Unfortunately when I showed it to the barista he took the cup and rinsed it and then put the cup in the dirty dish tray behind the counter. Believe me there was a lot more grit in my cup (and mouth). Isetta should either make real Chai Latte from a brew or not offer on the menu as this mix they use is bad stuff. read more

I am shocked at anyone who doesnt rate this a five star. Isetta is the Vancouver Lower Mainlands best vibe, best coffee - from the world-class baristas to the unexpectedly impressive food menu. If you like Italian, then you'll love the food experience, any time of day. The drive along Marine Drive is world class. Or, blast out the highway (on your way to Whistler or the Ferries) and drop down at Exit 4, Caulfield exit - it's definitely worth the short detour. (Road cyclists know, Marine Drive and a stop at Isetta is a 5 star experience). I sometimes take the five minute walk to Stearman beach and enjoy my coffee with a spectacular view. While the location is remote, it truly offers a unique experience well worth the trip. Isetta West Van isn't just great coffee and food, it's an experience. But shhhh, don't tell too many people. It's always wonderful to find a hidden gem that offers more than just a meal - an experience that includes scenic views and a sense of uniqueness. read more

Happened upon this little gem and decided to dine with my sisters, during Isetta, Saturday in January dinners. Glad we did. Delightful, delicious, warm and friendly experience we felt welcomed from the minute we walked in the door! Tucked in a cozy booth at the back, we were taken care of by Emery and Scott. Fred was the on-site sommelier and he was both charming and informative. Great wine choice with Chablis! Amazing menu choices for a small place. Two of us had the arctic char and third sister had chicken schnitzel. We were all very pleased. Yummy flavours and sizeable portions (only one of us cleaned her plate) kudos to the chef and the team. I'm heading back this morning and taking my beloved to brunch! Looking forward enjoying another tasty, beautiful barista art by June! read more

Just what West Van needed! What a gem, beautiful renovation and atmosphere. Focused menu, quality and service well beyond any expectations. And it's priced reasonable (expected it to be more expensive), insanely good chicken parm sandwich is $16 and even wine is reasonable. Fun car theme and place to watch the nice cars cruising marine dropping in. Don't be put off if the parking lot is packed, they got the system sorted to get you served quickly. Being locals, we really wanted to enjoy Isetta. It's a nice place with friendly staff. However, the tomato soup and the burger we had were so salty. We only had half a bowl of the soup because of how salty it was. The burger was like biting into a beef flavored salt patty. The beef was clearly fresh and hand formed but it was just so incredibly salty. The lack of veggies (not even a slice of tomato) just didn't add up to good value for $22, especially since there isn't table service. The fries were ok but equally salty. Sorry, but not a good first impression and we won't be coming back. read more

A very interesting, creative and and dynamic interior design with good ambience and just what is needed in the eighbourhood. The staff are most hospitable and very efficient. On two ocassions however I found my breakfast to be most dissapointing. The fried eggs were over cooked and almost burnt and rubbery. And the toast which I was advised was sourdough, was tasteless. I have not tried other breakfast selections but in view of my prior experience I am reluctant to return. read more
