Everything looked fresh and beautifully baked, and the coffee made it feel like a perfect little afternoon stop. The service felt friendly and relaxed, and I liked the cozy atmosphere inside. The warm lighting, bakery counter, and little seating area give it a welcoming neighborhood feel without being too fancy or formal. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience. There were a few other pastries I didn't get to try, so I'd definitely be curious to come back and explore more of the selection next time.

It was delicate, elegant, and genuinely delicious--the flavours were well balanced, and you could tell there was a lot of care put into making it. I definitely wasn't disappointed. That said, it is on the expensive side, so I did find myself expecting a little more flexibility with the service. In particular, I was surprised that they couldn't accommodate a simple name plate on the cake. For a cake at this price point, it seems like a fairly reasonable request, especially when other bakeries offer this on less expensive cakes. The pickup process itself was fine, but keep in mind that pre-orders need to be placed quite a few days in advance, so this isn't really a last-minute cake option. One other practical note: if you're ordering during the summer, make sure you get it into the fridge as soon as possible after pickup. The tiramisu is quite delicate and doesn't hold up well sitting out in the heat. Overall, a beautiful and delicious cake that I would happily have again, although the price and some of the ordering limitations are worth keeping in mind.

If it were the only place around, it would stand out, but there is substantial competition up the street from La Duree, Paul, Le Belisse Cafe (my favorite) and others. I didn't try the sweet croissants, but the plain croissant was perfectly good. The bread, however, was a disappointment. The barista claimed that "all our breads are sourdough." But there's more to sourdough than just the technique. There's also the flavor. And what looked like a wonderful French boule turned out to basically just be a big hunk of white bread. I didn't have their coffee, so it might be great, but with so many choices around, I think I would probably go up the street.

I've been looking for a place to pick up fresh, tasty, breakfast bagels downtown....and Boooommm! Today it happened. Cute little pick up window you place your oder with friendly staff. Their Egg, bacon and Cheese Breakfast Sesame Bagel was awesome. I personally love the taste of honey dijon, and delicately spread on both sides was a layer of delicious honey dijon with crisp fresh romaine lettuce, tomatoes, juicy scrambled eggs and cheddar cheese on a fresh sesame bagel. It was tasty, it was fresh, it was filling. It was what I've been looking for and never realized I found past all the massive waves of croissant places drowning the breakfast market. Hopefully, this preference will find its own great wave and Vancouverites will have more options to choose from, because still we are choosing between a full on brunch and perhaps a premium croissant bakery, but reluctantly. The space is beautiful, very bright with high ceilings. And the selection of pastries was impressive. Opted for a latte and a croissant. Finally walked over and after several exchanges, determined it was our coffees. I provided the pager and said it did not go off. The attendant then reached down and activated it. Nice. No apologies. Beautiful space but with poor service, I have no intentions of returning to this or any of the Small Victory Bakery's.

Hoping it's just that they were temporarily out of stock or something and that they havn't stopped making those lovely desserts altogether. Those desserts were showstoppers. For the Too Good to Go package I was given a bag that had a savory croissant sandwich in it and a box that had two large sized pieces of some kind of flaky pastry with cheese in it. The croissant had cheese on top and some kind of deli meat in the middle. I don't eat meat so I warmed this up for my husband and daughter to share. The flaky pastry with cheese I saved and warmed up for breakfast with my daughter the next day. A bit of Google searching has told that those flaky pastries are Cheese Pitas. It's a mix of feta and cottage cheese inside. Always a gamble with Too Good to Go. I probably wouldn't have ever thought to order these foods if I'd walked into the shop and ordered regular price. I see that as a plus though, not a minus. I kinda like trying things I wouldn't normally think to try. The pastry on both the croissant and cheese pita were both very flaky. I still prefer the sweets here over the savory items but the savory items are pretty good too. If you like flaky pastries, this is a pretty good place for that!

However the experience was quite confusing as I didn't actually know what I was to expect when consuming. Will need to return to have it there next time so I can rate properly.
