First of all, I love their coffee. I was not familiar with Turkish coffee until I found this place, and the coffee stands out for being rich and smoky. Also, they always give you a little coconut treat along with your drink, which I have always found to be a nice touch. The baristas are always so nice and welcoming, and I think they're actually Turkish as well. Also, the inside of the shop is so cute, lots of plants and sunlight. Honestly, this is one of my favorite coffee shops in Vancouver, there's something about the vibe here and the coffee that just brings me a lot of joy. I haven't really tried their pastries yet but I am looking forward to do so when I have a sweet tooth! Because of how this place makes me feel and the quality of the coffee, this deserves 5 stars for me. read more

Had such a lovely experience at Bahar Bakery in downtown Vancouver! The space is beautiful and inviting, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The pistachio croissant was definitely a highlight--flaky, delicious, and packed with great pistachio flavor. I also tried their cardamom tea, which was essentially like a London Fog with a wonderful cardamom twist, and it was absolutely fabulous! The strawberry jam cruffin was tasty, although it was a little too sweet for my preference. Overall, though, the combination of the beautiful atmosphere, amazing staff, and delicious food made this a great bakery experience. I visited this great little cafe a couple months ago and met Ali, the owner. He was very kind and friendly and let me try one of his delicious coconut treats with my coffee. Many people were buying these coconut bites . They are very popular and I can see why. All his baked items looked delicious. The cafe was very busy. It was warm and inviting and the decor was very nice. My coffee was smooth and just perfect for me. I highly recommend this cafe next time you're in the area. read more

We visited Bahar Cafe on Boxing Day around noon. It was busy, and many of the baked goods had already sold out. The service was wonderful--friendly and patient while we decided. The cafe is cute and clean, with a surprising amount of seating for a small space. We ordered a Pistachio Croissant and a Pain au Chocolate. The Pistachio Croissant was the better of the two. A delicious, crispy top, though I would have loved a bit more filling inside. The Pain au Chocolate was solid but standard--exactly what you'd expect, but nothing extraordinary. They also have a lot of other desserts and savory sandwiches. They might be great, but we didn't get to try them this time. read more

Such a cute family owned spot in downtown Vancouver. If you're in need of a quick matcha or coffee run, look no further this the place to try. Try the matcha with honey and or their vanilla syrup. So fresh delicious and thick. Drinks came with a small coconut macaroon that was so moist and delicious. They have such a big range of baked goods from cakes to sandwiches. While ordering you can see the staff handmaking all of their bakery items which was so nice to see that everything was made in house. The staff was so kind and thoughtful and honestly felt like I was so welcome here even though it was so busy. There are both bar and table seatings styles, and clean up after yourself! read more

Bahar is such a welcoming place! It's totally family-run and they're very sweet people. They have a range of baked goods and sandwiches as well as coffee and tea to accompany. The selection varies daily. Some of the baked goods are traditional Persian, some are not, but everything has that homemade feel; I always feel great like when I eat here, like I've eaten something very wholesome even after eating the desserts, which are never too sweet. The sandwiches are super simple but kind of charming in the simplicity, and the ingredients are fresh. The coffee and tea are also good. I like their steeped tea and flat white. The prices are very reasonable for downtown. They're pretty popular and the shop is a little small, but I usually manage to find a seat. read more

The energy, vibe and feel of this cute little Persian Cafe is exactly what Robson Street needed. Nice coffee and bakery option on Robson Street in the heart of downtown Vancouver! I'm glad they changed their hours to open earlier on the weekend, as we were staying at the nearby Hilton and were looking for something other than the typical chain coffeehouses. My wife had their egg, avocado, and tomato sandwich which she thought was a perfect protein alternative to sausage sandwiches nearby. Their pistachio roll was also a winner. As for coffee, their Americano was good but their mocha needed a tad more chocolate flavor. Our entire order came out quickly with big smiles by all their staff, so we will definitely be back on our next visit to try more of their pastries. read more

The bakery itself is really pretty, my husband LOVED the cinnamon roll, and I did too.... Although I wish it had cream cheese frosting. The walnut pastry was very dry and was not for me, but the flavor was nice. They actually place two tiny coconut cookies on your to-go box and those things were really tasty. My girlfriend ordered almond cookies (I don't really like marzipan flavor so I didn't think I would like them) but they were incredible. There is a lovely warmth to the atmosphere of this cafe, which led me to read the "about us" section of their website, and I found out the cafe is dedicated to a women who tragically lost her life -- and as a testament "to the enduring power of human connection." Walked past this tiny cozy bakery situated at a corner of a busy street. It's a nice spot to duck in for a break. The staff was warm and welcoming. When I got in, there wasn't much option. I bought the saffron butter bun (Bahar bun) to go. As a regular bun in a supermarket, it's fine, not good, not bad, although I can't justify paying $3+ for one supermarket bun. For an artisan Persian shop, I expected better. Taste: the bun had a bit of a chew (not in a bad way). There's a hint of butter and no saffron. The saffron butter filling was a bit crusty/dry which leads me to believe it wasn't made fresh. The black sesame on top gave the bun some flavour. I purchased 2, shared one with my Persian colleague to do a taste test. My Persian colleague too found it underwhelming, and said, "this is not a Persian bun, it's just a bun". However I would like to return to try their cardamon cake and babari bread. read more

This review is LONG overdue but my husband and I came here almost every single day of our vacation in Vancouver because we fell in love with this cafe! The staff was also absolutely incredible and made us feel immediately at home and even recognized us by the second time we came in. Their pastries are to die for and I'm absolutely addicted to their cardamom cupcakes and baklava! Also, their coffee is great too! The cafe is super clean, cute and has great ambiance to hang out in - we were lucky because we stumbled upon it when we needed a place to hang out while we waited for our airbnb to be ready and they were so accommodating and kind! It's been nearly a year since our trip and my husband and I are STILL talking about this place because it's that amazing (luckily thats what reminded me I needed to write this review). 1000000% worth the visit, go check them out and fall in love! read more
