Came for brunch. Good cocktails, great food and even better service! We had some allergies and our server accommodated perfectly and even gave great recommendations. Big servings and everything was delicious!

We had such a lovely time here! The service was superb. Food was tasty and fresh. Ambiance is perfect for date night. I love how tucked away this little restaurant is. Parking was easy on a Friday night. The inn is tucked away in a stunning neighborhood. Perfect to watch the sunset from the street (where we parked). It was nice enough to sit outside so we opted for the patio dining. It's so cute on the patio! They have both cushioned lounge seating (better if you're just getting snacks and drinks) and then actual tables for dining outside. It seemed that they had heaters on the patio for colder nights but they were not on the evening we dined so I'm not sure. We tried the crab toast (absolutely AMAZING), Caesar salad (fresh), swordfish (sooooo good! And a big portion for the fish), and the shrimp cavatelli (like eating a tomato bisque pasta- yummy!) For dessert we had the sweet potato pie which I really enjoyed. Such a lovely dinner - oh, and did I mention that the cocktails and wine selection were great? Definitely would come here again

Goat cheese appetizer

I haven't been to the post house in a long time. I wasn't really sure what to expect of the menu. Unfortunately I don't eat much fish although the fish dishes sounded amazing, so I went for the easy route and picked the burger. Holy cow! I am so glad I did. It was juicy delicious had so much flavor in every bite. The fries were delicious as well. I did get the goat cheese starter for an appetizer and everything in that dish was amazing. From the strawberry to the way, the goat cheese was whipped to the pieces of bread that crumbled as you took a bite. It was chefs kiss. I do love the ambience as well, how it's a little bit dark inside, but makes you feel like you're in an old-fashioned hotel. The server was so sweet and did a really good job serving our table and getting everything in a timely matter. I will 100% be back!

I love eating at Post House! The food is always so good, and the restaurant is located in Old Village which is such a beautiful gem. We made a reservation for dinner last night and were sat right away! We enjoyed snacking on the crudite and French onion dip + Caesar salad (not pictured). Our waitress was also this very sweet young woman who was very attentive! I had the filet and my fiancé got the cavatelli, both were delicious!! The steak had an herb butter on it that had tarragon in it. My mom said she didn't care for the tarragon but I didn't mind. Since it was my birthday, the restaurant put out these specialize birthday menus and the waitstaff signed a card for me which was such a nice touch!! We ordered the banana pudding and we were gifted the turtle cake (which was my favorite between the two). The cake is definitely sweeter than the pudding, but I didn't find it to be over powering. I would definitely recommend this place to friends + family!

Joined a friend here for dinner. The hosts were welcoming, they also gave us the matchboxes for our collection! We were taken to our seats and the dining area was stunning. They have booth options, tables, and window seating available near the bar. I ordered a Caesar salad and added chicken. The meal was delicious, they packed my leftovers for me. I can't wait to come back and enjoy again!

Steak frites, a dirty martini, the catch of the day & a side of crispy potatoes.

Post house delivered the perfect meal & great service. I was visiting my sister who lives in Mt. pleasant and I'm so glad she brought us here! We dined in the bar which was a great vibe, and we both enjoyed our food. My dirty martini was also excellent. Highly recommend checking this spot out!

This place is delicious and fun, though, super crowded and very noisy. Our server was very patient and kind. The food was absolutely fabulous. We started out with the cornbread appetizer, which was amazing, especially served warm and with creamy butter. Two people had the grouper, one had the beef spare ribs and I had the filet mignon (perfectly cooked rare). All were fantastic! Definitely need reservations. Very little parking. Be prepared to walk.

Steak and eggs

First 'win' is the location, right next to little shops, the ocean and gorgeous neighborhoods. Second win was offering a flat iron steak on the brunch menu. Third win was the flavor and temperature of the steak. And the third win compels me to say it's the best steak and eggs I've ever had. Cut like butter and melted in my mouth. Collard greens were flavorful and cooked to perfection, as were the scrambled eggs. We also got a breakfast sandwich and mimosas that were amazing, but steak and eggs were the star of the show for sure!

The ambience here is 10/10!! The perfect spot for dinner / drinks when my friend was in town. The chicken is a must order!

Post House is an adorable house turned restaurant. The outside is a classic pastel coastal home that may even be upstaged by its stunning indoor decor - a great spot alone for ambiance and photos. We came in for brunch and I ordered the Turkish eggs. The eggs were poached perfectly, the red pepper sauce was delicious, and I loved the crispy bed of home fries it was served on. I will say I did still feel a bit hungry afterwards. Service was also fantastic, our server was super kind and attentive.

Open faced tuna melt - not my favorite. And the cornbread which was great
Caroline H.

Interesting yet tasty food - elevated spin on classic dishes that maybe would have tasted better with more butter and home touch but super cute interior and would go back just for the vibes. Ask to sit in the front if you want more sunlight for great brunch vibes.

Crudo

My wife brought me here for an early birthday celebration and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is attached to a bed and breakfast in the older section of Mount Pleasant and is super cute! We sat outside on the covered back patio and enjoyed some delicious food! We started with the oysters and white fish crudo along with eventually 3 blackberry mojitos. I ordered the filet, which was one of the best steaks I've ever had and my wifey had the smash burger. Service was excellent and I can see us coming back very soon!

Post House is one of my favorite spots in Charleston. I always bring friends here when they visit. The crab toast is a must and definitely my favorite starter. Everything on the menu is good, and the bartenders really know their stuff. Highly recommend!

I have never had a bad drink here. I got the Batata Clarified Milk Punch (description in picture) which was fantastic. The toasted marshmallow garnish was a great touch for the season we were in. My mom got the Bourbon and Clyde and she said it was incredible. Description also in picture. The orange foam and pistachio crumble was a great addition. Another great drink for autumn. My second drink was the Smokin Indo which was probably my favorite. They performed the smoked glass technique with applewood which was not only cool to watch but added a unique flavor to the drink. We always make a point to get the assorted cheeses when we are here because they make a great charcuterie board. They switch up the cheeses just like they change their cocktail menu. Love to sit at the bar because it is truly an art to watch the bartenders make these drinks and really adds to the experience. Everyone who works here is super kind and knowledgeable on their craft. However, if you are able to be there when the two Doar brothers are working it makes it truly special. They give postcards with their check and there's a bowl of matchbooks sitting on the bar. One of the best cocktail bars in Charleston. Debated writing this because I selfishly want to keep it under the radar but it definitely deserves its accolades.

I'm giving 4 stars because the first cocktail I ordered was SO SWEET that I couldn't get it down. I tried to drink it but had to send it back. We asked when we ordered about the flavor profile and supposedly it wasn't sweet, but all 3 of us agreed it was way oversweet. My black manhattan was phenomenal and my husband had a mocktail moscow mule that was awesome. Overall, I'd come back again - just be mindful of the ingredients in the drink and modifying as needed for sweetness. Make a reservation if you can!

Everything was so flavorful that no extra salt or pepper was needed. The shrimp & grits had the perfect spicy kick -- seriously delicious. We skipped dessert, but the highlight afterward was spotting a dolphin swimming through the channel. Such a perfect ending to a really enjoyable meal. Definitely recommend! So when my family and I received some truly remarkable medical news this week, the kind of victory you save for a proper toast, Red Drum was the obvious choice. What better place to celebrate a long-awaited milestone than with familiar faces and a pork chop I've trusted since the era of dial-up internet? Well. About that pork chop. Two of us ordered the longtime menu staple. We expected the same giant, butcher's-best chop that has anchored the plate forever. What arrived instead felt like someone had rewritten a classic without reading the original. Gone were the lovely fresh tomatoes and potatoes, the bright bites that used to sing alongside the chop, along with the subtle demi that once tied everything together. In their place, Brussels sprouts were doing a full backstroke in an acid bath. And not, unfortunately, the fun kind of acid bath. I would have been fine with the sprouts but this sauce... The sauce was so sharp and dominant that it steamrolled the pork entirely. Since it made up the entire base of the dish, there was no escaping it. I later learned there were supposed to be potatoes mixed in, hash-style, but my portion must have pulled a vanishing act because not a single potato was found. My dining partner fared no better. Between the two of us, the equivalent of an entire pork chop went back to the kitchen. When we told our server the sauce tasted "off," she reacted with all the urgency of someone being told their shoelace is untied. There was no concern, no apology, and no curiosity. Our third diner ordered the salmon. He said it was very good, and the corn pudding was too, but even he missed the potato that used to round out the plate. For forty-one dollars, he said the meal felt "undercut," and I agree. When the most satisfied person at the table feels shorted, that is not great. Dessert was a bright spot. The hot butter rum toffee and the doughnuts hit the mark. By then, however, I was too busy fuming, more effectively than the pork, over the indifference that hung over the whole evening. No manager ever came by. I am not convinced our feedback reached anyone. By the time the bill arrived, it felt like our waitress wanted us to pay, smile, and scurry along. This was when the night took another strange turn. As she handed me the check, I asked about a familiar husband and wife duo who had served at Red Drum for years. They were beloved, memorable, and unmistakably professional. Anyone who has eaten at Red Drum even semi-regularly knows exactly who I mean. They were fixtures. I asked if they were working that night so I could say hello. The waitress casually told me they had been gone for some time and had left under "not good circumstances." That was when my eyebrows reached escape velocity. If you know Red Drum, the Red Drum of years past, you know that couple. You know the level of professionalism, the consistency, and the connection they brought to the room. You know they were not the "leave under not good circumstances" type. The comment felt off, unnecessary, and frankly a little concerning. It made me wonder what has really changed behind the scenes and what regulars will think when they read this. By then, curiosity pushed me to look around the room. It was nearly empty. It was 6:45 p.m. on a Tuesday. Yes, a weeknight, but dinner hour all the same. In years past, this place buzzed no matter the night. You could not get a last-minute reservation without divine intervention. Suddenly the ease of getting one this time made a whole lot more sense. I genuinely wanted this to be a triumphant return, a full-circle moment after a long illness and a day of wonderful news. Instead, it was a sobering reminder that somewhere along the way, Red Drum lost the plot, and maybe a lot more than its potatoes. After reflecting on our experience, I called the restaurant to share my concerns, but three business days have passed without a return call.

The Buddy the Elf Burger offers a choice of a single or double patty; ours was cooked perfectly. The smoky bacon really brought everything together and gave it that extra "wow" factor.
