Wonderful experience. The menu was perfect and love the use of local seafood like the Tarvin shrimp. Morgan was our server, he was a complete professional. He made the whole experience complete. read more

Mixed reviews. Its pricey, the burger was really good the first time we went and sat at the bar. Note that part of the inside is kind of loud. The back is quieter. We were excited to go back for the burger again and took our doggo. It was a cold day and they had heaters though the one near us was broken. There was only one other table - decent service. Unfortunately, the burger wasn't as magical as the first time. read more

Visited for a college admissions information luncheon for School Counselors. There is a space upstairs for a small group, that is very nice. The service was great. The ambiance of the restaurant is really. I'd like to visit for a regular lunch or dinner with friends. We had a limited menu, and the food was tasty. Would like to check out the entire menu. read more

We absolutely love Post House. The whole vibe is just great. While they do have some tables for walk ins I would recommend a reservation. You can sit by the bar area, in the back room, or on the adorable patio. All rooms have their own atmosphere. Drinks are wonderful. I am obsessed with the draft aperol spritz, my only complaint is I wish it was bigger for $14! This is my second time dining at Post House. My first time, we started with the crab toast - so amazing. I got the clams for my dinner which were delicious but the entree portion is small in my opinion. I was still hungry after. My second time, we started with the flounder crudo. It was delicious and so well balanced! I had market fish, it was great! Definitely a unique dish. A little on the pricy side, but it was a good amount of fish and I could see a lot went into making the dish so I didn't mind. My husband got the pork ragu and he said it may have been this best thing he has ever eaten . I also just wish it was a little bigger! We went out to have a nice dinner after our wedding on Friday and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! read more

Awesome experience! I sat at the bar with my mom and our bartender was awesome! Service was great. We had the wellness salad and burger. Both phenomenal. The burger paired great with a wine suggested by bartender - can't remember his name but can't recommend enough! read more

We celebrated our 36th wedding anniversary at The Post House and were absolutely delighted with the experience. The service was exceptional, and our server, Sarah, truly made the evening special. She was attentive, gracious, and provided outstanding customer care from start to finish. Sarah went above and beyond to ensure our celebration felt memorable--including a thoughtful extra slice of cake that made our night even sweeter. She made our anniversary a perfect delight! read more

As someone who lives in Old Village, I have recommended this restaurant to friends, clients, and visitors for years. It was once one of the places my husband and I proudly suggested when asked where to dine in Charleston. We visited for my 50th birthday, and the experience was deeply disappointing. The service felt dismissive, the food lacked the quality and care I once associated with the restaurant, and the overall tone of the evening left us feeling more tolerated than welcomed. read more

The food will knock your socks off. The drinks are creative, the ambiance is fabulous throughout every nook and cranny of the restaurant. This make the experience memorable. It's hard not to return often. We can't wait to revisit. Try ANY dish, you like will not be disappointed. read more

Love Love Love ... The Post House ~ if you like the feel of dining in an historic inn you will love The Post House. Set in the historic "Old Village" area of Mt Pleasant make sure to stroll the quaint shop lined streets. The movie "The Notebook" filmed on location here if you remember. I usually hit The Post House for lunch but had a date for dinner tonight. My usual order is the wonderful Chicory Salad and the savory Butterbean Burger. The service is swift and friendly and servers aim to please. A very pleasant experience. You will enjoy! read more

My husband and I visited the Post House in the Old Village of Mount Pleasant, SC twice, once in 2024 and once in 2026 and both times we were disappointed. It appears commonplace for the Bartender's to ignore the patrons, the wait is long for a drink at the bar and if you are interested in your presence being acknowledged, forget it. They get to you when they get to you. Watched at least one couple walk out after sitting at the bar for over ten minutes without a word from the Bartender(s). This is a small bar, maybe 10 - 12 seats, typically with 2 Bartenders so there is no reason getting a drink should take so long other than that they just don't care. Would be beneficial to all if Management did some "common courtesy," and Customer Service training. Did not meet our expectations. read more

Aperel spritz and oysters very nice. Special of the evening - short ribs. Dry and had a strange sour sauce on them. Accompanying vegetables were very sparse and chunks of sweet potatoes undercooked Ambiance - improved after crying babies left. Then became very loud with two large parties seated by us. Server was very knowledgeable and accommodating. read more

As you walk in you find yourself in the most charming and beautiful environment. The staff was super friendly and helpful with making suggestions and the food and drinks came out quickly. We came during restaurant week and enjoyed the experience of the exclusive menu options. The food was fresh and absolutely delicious! Can't wait to come back and enjoy another meal! read more

What a lovely spot! If you're all about ambiance and good food, this place is for you. Certainly not cheap, but the food is. High quality. The burger is insane - maybe the best in Charleston?? And only $20 during both lunch and dinner. The lasagna was great but not super filling. Crab toast was pretty good too! read more

We went for an early Father's Day dinner. We were pleasantly greeted at the door and sat at the bar. The food and atmosphere were enjoyable as usual. We had the Tarvin shrimp cocktail, the butter bean spoon salad ,crab toast and the ribeye. All were very good and the steak was cooked a perfect medium rare. The dessert was nothing to die for. What was not enjoyable was the lack of energy behind the bar. Almost uncomfortable actually and it was not busy at all. They stole that 5th star. read more

My friends and I attended a Christmas party and wanted to end our night with drinks at Post House Inn as I just learned it was nearby. We were seated right away by the bar and service was very quick on a later Thursday evening. I ordered the Jacks Rose which was a very nice applejack and bourbon cocktail. My friend said her tuna tartare was delicious and we all enjoyed the intimate setting. Would recommend for a date night! read more

The food was fantastic! We went for brunch and I had the full southern breakfast--the bacon was thick and delicious, and the grits had a great texture. The eggs were cooked well and truly soft scrambled, not dry at all! We shared the cornbread, and it was a great addition to the meal. The only downside is that some of the tables are extremely small, so the tables crowded quickly. Parking can also get tricky during busy weekend service! Overall, great food in a charming environment! read more

Nestled in the heart of the Mount Pleasant neighborhood, Post House delivers an exceptional and professional dining experience. For food, I highly recommend the burger, hands down, one of the best I've had in Charleston. Perfectly cooked, juicy, and layered with flavor, it's a must-order. I also had the Crudo which was citrusy, salty, and delicious. Definitely recommend for an appetizer! The bar is just as impressive. Special shout out to Kat, who crafts the Bells of Jalisco cocktail like no one else can. Balanced, refreshing, and has a good kick! read more

Crappy service. Horrible Bloody Mary. Bartender did not care. Cold coffee. Overpriced. Don't bother.

We enjoyed an absolutely delicious lunch at the Post House! Sitting outside was perfect-love all of the greenery and the covered patio. I enjoyed a glass of sparkling rosé and of course Frank's lots of water as it was a pretty hot day. I love that they bring a carafe so I don't drive the server crazy with water refills! I had the butter bean burger which was sooo good-not too heavy, and seasoned perfectly. I would highly recommend it. The Post House lunch prices are on the high side, but it's totally worth it for the ambiance, quality of food and excellent service! read more

Lovely curated atmosphere with historical charm. Beautiful patio dining. Perfect Aperol spritz on tap. Not a very broad brunch menu but classic in choices like southern eggs plate w grits, collards, and really delicious bacon. Steak and eggs, quiche, crab toast, and bakery items to start. Not a bargain spot, portions aren't huge but quality is high. Local produce and products. Service was a little slow but in an unhurried Sunday morning kinda way. read more

My family of 4 all enjoyed perfect meals while visiting The Post House for dinner. The food was incredible- fresh, delicious, and creative. Every dish was something to be excited about. The ambiance was equally inspiring. Set in an old inn, the interior blends historic and modern decorative touches that come together itonsippory an air of causual luxury. The first positive impressions we had, however, started long before the food arrived at the table, with genuinely attentive staff at the door and behind the bar. This place miraculously avoids pretension, inspite of having plenty to put on airs about. It was so wonderful we squeezed in a second visit before returning home. Get a reservation, and consider coming early enough to check out the historic pharmacy and cute shops next door. read more

I am going to be fairly generous and give three (3) stars, although I will not be coming back here. It was a special occasion for my wife and me, as we had been here at the Post House for a date back when we went a courtin'. Unfortunately, the prices for the food are just way too out of reason, considering the quality of the food and its preparation. [As an aside, about a month ago, we went to a place where the food cost us twice as much but it was worth every dime.] Our reservation was for 5 PM on a Saturday and, believe it or not, we were about 8 minutes early. We were told that we could not be seated as the dining area did not open until 5 PM, but we could (of course) wait in the bar. No biggy. We sat in the bar area, and did not order anything, but just waited to be called by one of the two young ladies at the front stand. Finally a few minutes after 5, we were called and sat in a dining area, facing one of the open-to-view server stations, where a few servers gathered at first but then would come and go. Our waiter came up, began pouring one glass with water, and asked if we wanted bottle or [tap] water. Pouring tap water already, so yeah that is fine. My wife ordered a Cosmopolitan ($13). We thought that we would split a Caesar salad which we did. My tip on the Caesar salad is already posted, with my opinion of DON'T get the Caesar salad. I have had many in my life but I never, ever have had one so spiced up with black pepper (ground and also peppercorns) that was close to inedible, and certainly to my taste buds I could not taste the dressing. It almost was lighting my mouth afire. Entree for me was the paccheri neo which our server Kyle said was in-house made pasta, blackened (with ink--squid) and with shrimp. It was a small dish for the $29 which was a borderline okay size with me, but again the chef went crazy with spices and the only thing that would calm the spiciness down was to eat a shrimp with the pasta and gulp some water, and unfortunately there were not enough medium size shrimp to accomplish that. The pasta, other than the spiciness, was good but a bit al dente which is an acceptable manner of cooking and presenting pasta. My wife had the half chicken named Normandy Chicken, described as french style by our waiter. Halfway through eating the half, she said the breast was dry (I had a taste of the chicken and it seemed chewy to me) and the drumstick was reddish with blood nearer the bone. As she had enough and did not want her usual to-go box with that chicken, server Kyle asked if she wanted a box and she told him of the breast was overdone and the drumstick portion undercooked. He said it was something that they heard a fair amount at the restaurant but that is the way that they did it, and it was not undone. His faux paux was telling her "Sorry for the confusion," with my wife sternly but politely responding "I am NOT confused." And so ended the meal, and no dessert as we were headed to a nearby concert in the Old Village (walking distance from the Post House). Despite all of the above, including the chef who might have been off of his game or just had a bad night, I am not going back, but I still tipped 20% on the $104.71 bill (including an undisclosed until presented) CC (credit card) fee of $3.05. There are just too many good restaurants with good food to visit, even revisit and enjoy their food which is not so very much overspiced as our meal was. Kicking in a 3% credit card fee is something a starving restaurant might do, or my dry cleaners, but how many people carry $100 in cash around to pay a restaurant bill? No one that I know. read more

We had an incredible experience at Post House. We were traveling from NY and after a long drive they were very accommodating with our reservation time. Post House was the best brunch experience. We went with a group of five and sat on the patio and would definitely recommend for a group event. They have a private event space you can rent out as well. We ordered a variety of brunch cocktails that all used fresh squeeze juices and were so fresh and light. We started with a coffee cake for the table which was my favorite bite of the day. The orange cream cheese was a vibrant surprise and really made for a unique experience. For our meals we split the Caesar salad, waffles and burger. All were great and highly recommended. We can't wait to go back for dinner. read more

My absolute favorite restaurant in Charleston. While this isn't one review of a specific experience, most every experience I've had here has been more than lovely!! The food is incredible. The ambience is perfectly charming with coastal accents all around the restaurant and inn. Their corn bread is an out of this world starter. And honestly you can't go wrong with anything else on the menu. The service is usually exceptional. Perfect date night spot. Will be back again for the next big occasion! read more

I love this place and we had great service. Our waitress was awesome. Crab cannoli was very good. Venison was also very good. Spaetzle was undercooked. Trout was THE big disappointment. Very, very thin trout filets sandwiched between 2 toasted pieces of bread. All I could taste was the bread. The cauliflower side was pretty much non existant. Very underwelmed, especailly since we took out of town guests and they all got the trout. . read more

The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. We got a variety of appetizers and entrees, as well as nearly every desert on the menu and every item was superb. Stella was our waitress and she was so friendly and fun. We're from out of town, but I would go back just to see her. While there was a slight delay with our food, the staff more than made up for it. I would recommend this place to anyone. read more

From the ambiance to the hospitality to the incredible food, Post House is five stars. It's upscale yet incredibly cozy and feels like home. It's impeccably designed and has some incredible small touches - heat lamps outside, plush seats, curated cocktail list, blankets to wrap around yourself when it's cold to name a few. Big hits were the veggie bowl, burger and oysters for brunch. Can't wait to come back again and again! read more

We loved the vibe of this place! Such a cool building and great nice atmosphere. All of their signature drinks were delicious. Tonight my boyfriend and I ate here for our three year anniversary. We got there early to sit at the bar and get a couple cocktails to start. Afterwards, we had our entrees in the back indoor area as requested. Sarah took care of us. She was very nice and knowledgeable of menu items. We had the melon ball, aperol spritz, and pineapple margarita, which were all fantastic. While our entrees took longer than expected, Sarah was quick to provide an app on the house, which was greatly appreciated. The highlight of the night was the filet minion. The flavor blew us away and the soft pink inside was perfect as we ordered medium rare. Food aside, the atmosphere was very welcoming. Great lighting and the chairs were extremely comfortable. Overall, great anniversary spot. Will happily be back for more!! read more

Today our family had brunch after church in Old Village at Post House. This beautiful historical Inn is charming and cozy with an old mahogany bar in the front with inside and outdoors dining. We were sat in the back with vintage red-white china and crisp linens in our laps. Our waitress was sweet and attentive to make our experience extra special. We had the following: Full Southern- over-easy eggs with pork infused collards, crispy sausages and pink grits. All yummy and delicious. Double Cheeseburger- the bun was grilled with butter and topped two beef Pattie's with special tangy sauce and sautéed caramelized onions. The burger was the best I've ever had anywhere. But the side fries were too salty for me. (Pre-salted)... Great lunch which will keep us coming back again and again! read more
