goat cheese brûlée

Wow wow wow. I wish I could eat here every day. I made a reservation online ahead of time to ensure we could get wheelchair seating and they were great! Our server was so friendly and helpful. Everyone around us seemed to be having a great time. The outdoor seating looked beautiful, I'd love to try sitting there in the future. We started with the brussel sprouts and goat cheese brûlée. The spring ravioli was phenomenal, so light and delicate. The pork chop had amazing veggies! I can't recommend this place enough.

Came for brunch. Good cocktails, great food and even better service! We had some allergies and our server accommodated perfectly and even gave great recommendations. Big servings and everything was delicious!

We had such a lovely time here! The service was superb. Food was tasty and fresh. Ambiance is perfect for date night. I love how tucked away this little restaurant is. Parking was easy on a Friday night. The inn is tucked away in a stunning neighborhood. Perfect to watch the sunset from the street (where we parked). It was nice enough to sit outside so we opted for the patio dining. It's so cute on the patio! They have both cushioned lounge seating (better if you're just getting snacks and drinks) and then actual tables for dining outside. It seemed that they had heaters on the patio for colder nights but they were not on the evening we dined so I'm not sure. We tried the crab toast (absolutely AMAZING), Caesar salad (fresh), swordfish (sooooo good! And a big portion for the fish), and the shrimp cavatelli (like eating a tomato bisque pasta- yummy!) For dessert we had the sweet potato pie which I really enjoyed. Such a lovely dinner - oh, and did I mention that the cocktails and wine selection were great? Definitely would come here again

I love eating at Post House! The food is always so good, and the restaurant is located in Old Village which is such a beautiful gem. We made a reservation for dinner last night and were sat right away! We enjoyed snacking on the crudite and French onion dip + Caesar salad (not pictured). Our waitress was also this very sweet young woman who was very attentive! I had the filet and my fiancé got the cavatelli, both were delicious!! The steak had an herb butter on it that had tarragon in it. My mom said she didn't care for the tarragon but I didn't mind. Since it was my birthday, the restaurant put out these specialize birthday menus and the waitstaff signed a card for me which was such a nice touch!! We ordered the banana pudding and we were gifted the turtle cake (which was my favorite between the two). The cake is definitely sweeter than the pudding, but I didn't find it to be over powering. I would definitely recommend this place to friends + family!

I haven't been to the post house in a long time. I wasn't really sure what to expect of the menu. Unfortunately I don't eat much fish although the fish dishes sounded amazing, so I went for the easy route and picked the burger. Holy cow! I am so glad I did. It was juicy delicious had so much flavor in every bite. The fries were delicious as well. I did get the goat cheese starter for an appetizer and everything in that dish was amazing. From the strawberry to the way, the goat cheese was whipped to the pieces of bread that crumbled as you took a bite. It was chefs kiss. I do love the ambience as well, how it's a little bit dark inside, but makes you feel like you're in an old-fashioned hotel. The server was so sweet and did a really good job serving our table and getting everything in a timely matter. I will 100% be back!

Joined a friend here for dinner. The hosts were welcoming, they also gave us the matchboxes for our collection! We were taken to our seats and the dining area was stunning. They have booth options, tables, and window seating available near the bar. I ordered a Caesar salad and added chicken. The meal was delicious, they packed my leftovers for me. I can't wait to come back and enjoy again!

This place is delicious and fun, though, super crowded and very noisy. Our server was very patient and kind. The food was absolutely fabulous. We started out with the cornbread appetizer, which was amazing, especially served warm and with creamy butter. Two people had the grouper, one had the beef spare ribs and I had the filet mignon (perfectly cooked rare). All were fantastic! Definitely need reservations. Very little parking. Be prepared to walk.

Steak frites, a dirty martini, the catch of the day & a side of crispy potatoes.

Post house delivered the perfect meal & great service. I was visiting my sister who lives in Mt. pleasant and I'm so glad she brought us here! We dined in the bar which was a great vibe, and we both enjoyed our food. My dirty martini was also excellent. Highly recommend checking this spot out!

The ambience here is 10/10!! The perfect spot for dinner / drinks when my friend was in town. The chicken is a must order!

Steak and eggs

First 'win' is the location, right next to little shops, the ocean and gorgeous neighborhoods. Second win was offering a flat iron steak on the brunch menu. Third win was the flavor and temperature of the steak. And the third win compels me to say it's the best steak and eggs I've ever had. Cut like butter and melted in my mouth. Collard greens were flavorful and cooked to perfection, as were the scrambled eggs. We also got a breakfast sandwich and mimosas that were amazing, but steak and eggs were the star of the show for sure!

Post House is an adorable house turned restaurant. The outside is a classic pastel coastal home that may even be upstaged by its stunning indoor decor - a great spot alone for ambiance and photos. We came in for brunch and I ordered the Turkish eggs. The eggs were poached perfectly, the red pepper sauce was delicious, and I loved the crispy bed of home fries it was served on. I will say I did still feel a bit hungry afterwards. Service was also fantastic, our server was super kind and attentive.

Open faced tuna melt - not my favorite. And the cornbread which was great
Caroline H.

Interesting yet tasty food - elevated spin on classic dishes that maybe would have tasted better with more butter and home touch but super cute interior and would go back just for the vibes. Ask to sit in the front if you want more sunlight for great brunch vibes.

Crudo

My wife brought me here for an early birthday celebration and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is attached to a bed and breakfast in the older section of Mount Pleasant and is super cute! We sat outside on the covered back patio and enjoyed some delicious food! We started with the oysters and white fish crudo along with eventually 3 blackberry mojitos. I ordered the filet, which was one of the best steaks I've ever had and my wifey had the smash burger. Service was excellent and I can see us coming back very soon!

I have never had a bad drink here. I got the Batata Clarified Milk Punch (description in picture) which was fantastic. The toasted marshmallow garnish was a great touch for the season we were in. My mom got the Bourbon and Clyde and she said it was incredible. Description also in picture. The orange foam and pistachio crumble was a great addition. Another great drink for autumn. My second drink was the Smokin Indo which was probably my favorite. They performed the smoked glass technique with applewood which was not only cool to watch but added a unique flavor to the drink. We always make a point to get the assorted cheeses when we are here because they make a great charcuterie board. They switch up the cheeses just like they change their cocktail menu. Love to sit at the bar because it is truly an art to watch the bartenders make these drinks and really adds to the experience. Everyone who works here is super kind and knowledgeable on their craft. However, if you are able to be there when the two Doar brothers are working it makes it truly special. They give postcards with their check and there's a bowl of matchbooks sitting on the bar. One of the best cocktail bars in Charleston. Debated writing this because I selfishly want to keep it under the radar but it definitely deserves its accolades.

The service was on point and the bartender was killing it at the bar - multitasking making 3 drinks all at once. It was super impressive and I took a few videos of him. I'm giving 4 stars because the first cocktail I ordered was SO SWEET that I couldn't get it down. I tried to drink it but had to send it back. We asked when we ordered about the flavor profile and supposedly it wasn't sweet, but all 3 of us agreed it was way oversweet. My black manhattan was phenomenal and my husband had a mocktail moscow mule that was awesome. Overall, I'd come back again - just be mindful of the ingredients in the drink and modifying as needed for sweetness. Make a reservation if you can!

Starting dinner off right with some deliciously fresh raw oysters complete with a traditional "onion" mignonette, and then Chef Eric brought out a little special treat....the base was fresh lump crab meat topped with some chunked watermelon and the most light, fresh, delicious dressing & crunch. WOW. I could eat that all summer. Moving onto the main courses, a perfectly cooked NY strip & root veggies with a love boat of fresh sauces. Chimi, steak butter, and a horseradish crema. As if the steak needed any sauce, but with that trifecta?? I couldn't help myself. Incredible. The other entree, a risotto and shrimp. Incredibly flavorful, complete with crisp English peas. As I write this, I wish I had another plateful. The bartender is the Chef's little lady, & she was a GEM! I cannot remember her name, but she goes to estate sales, and thrifts the beautiful dishes and glassware that they use in the restaurant, which I thought was so neat! These two truly have put their heart and soul into this little place and you can tell. The menu is of a smaller variety, but variety for sure. Chef Eric changes the menu up daily/weekly, so you never know what you may get, and I think that is honestly one of the best parts about this place. You can tell they care, from the food to the atmosphere they have created. This one deserves all the 5 stars.

Took us too long to discover. I actually appreciate they have a daily menu that offers plenty of starters and entrees. We enjoyed the oysters on the half shell, and wonderful beet salad. But the entrees impressed us with both presentation and taste. I had the seafood stew, and my husband had the rigatoni with duck ragu. My surprise selight was a zinfadel wine that was both smooth and tasty. We arrived early and the place filled up, on a Wednesday night too. By the time we left the bar was packed with five couples seated around just enjoying their food and conversation. We appreciated the service, as there was just one server, but she was skilled at handling multiple tables and made us feel welcome. The Shellmore is a hidden gem worth checking out.
