Fun place. Staff were friendly but not warm and as welcoming as I would expect. Drinks are good but expensive. Love the living room vibe but not all furniture was comfy to sit on for long. Good place to try and glad we did but not sure I'd go back.

This is a true speakeasy! There's a nondescript black door and you have to flip a switch to be allowed in. It's bot a large place but it's very comfortable. The cocktails are creative and delicious. Food available was macarons, a charcuterie board or cake. We all felt like they could offer a bit more to snack on. Will def return if I was back in Charleston!

This is a great speakeasy. They got everything right, from the hidden door, to a quiet and elegant vibe, to the soft lighting, customized drink menu, everything was spot on. Our server was also the bartender, and she was great at both, friendly and on top of everything.

If you're looking for a true hidden gem in Charleston, Scotty Doesn't Know absolutely hits the mark. The moment you step inside, the Victorian-inspired décor sets the tone, giving the speakeasy a warm, southern charm that feels both elevated and inviting. It's the kind of room where you settle in and think, "Yeah... this is exactly the vibe I wanted tonight." Caity, the bartender, deserves her own spotlight. She's genuinely delightful, the sort of craft mixologist who makes every cocktail feel intentional. Her whiskey sour was a masterclass in balance, smooth and bright with just the right pop of citrus. You can tell she cares about her work and takes pride in the details. If you're in Charleston and want a place that feels special instead of the usual tourist shuffle, Scotty Doesn't Know should be at the top of your list. Great drinks, killer atmosphere and Caity seals the deal. A must-visit while you're in town.

I mean, calling this place is speakeasy is a bit generous. There's no reservation system. The hidden door is simply a door without a handle that you have to pry open with your fingernails, and when we stopped by, there was one bartender, and she was very pleasant and made very good drinks, but other than this being a converted possible back room for big John's, I didn't really get a speakeasy vibe about it. The craft cocktails were good, I just feel like calling this speakeasy is a bit of a reach. Additionally, with the exception of the namesake and I don't really know what they could've done here, but the reference to "Scotty doesn't know" brought me there, but there was no real tie in with the movie. Maybe a cut out of Matt Damon for selfies, lol?

The service was great! Love the ambiance and antique decor throughout this sweet spot! I especially love the antique mirrors along the wall.

Oh, Scotty doesn't know So don't tell Scotty Scotty doesn't know Scotty doesn't know (So don't tell Scotty) This is a nice little speakeasy in Charleston. The entrance looks so fake but hey, A for effort. The drinks are pricey, but they're good. If you're looking for a good spot to feel secretive and classy, I recommend this drinking establishment. You can't go wrong with the Mezcal Old Fashioned.

    Finally cheersing!

I'd say it was probably an unusual night. We got there in time for our reservation and kept buzzing the light to get in and nothing. Finally someone came out so we went in. I went to the bar to check in and there was literally one person working a full room (two large parties) and multiple small tables. He made it clear there was going to be a wait and it didn't seem to matter that we had reservations (I would've gotten potentially charged for not showing up) we waited probably 30 min and I finally went and asked about how long before we could order and he said we were next up and apologized profusely. We waited another 15 min and finally ordered. Honestly we should've just left as it was so chaotic. I felt bad for the bartender. We got our drinks finally and they were pretty good, not great and not as creative as most speakeasy's. I think that was due to the stress he was under. I had a reservation to come back and canceled it.

Intimate spot to grab an after dinner cocktail or to just hangout late. Try the charcuterie board.

My husband and I are sober. Do they offer mocktails or NA options?

They have access to a full bar from the restaurant next door. I would think they could accommodate you.

The second floor has a nice sized dance floor, DJ, stripper pole (yes, a stripper pole), and another large bar. Both floors have bathrooms. There is an outside area too for the smokers, I can't comment on that area as I've never really been out there. Trio isn't always booming with people. I've been there some nights when there wasn't a lot of people and other nights when there was a line out of the door and the building was packed. I have no idea how to predict how many people will be there. I usually find my way upstairs, as I like to dance and the DJs are always great. 9 times out of 10 you will see some bachelorette party sitting in the little area with the stripper pole...so ladies, if you want to go here for your bachelorette party, assign one of your maids to stake out the pole for you (oh and bring some Clorox wipes...who knows who's spun around that thing). If you want to go out with a group of people and have a loud, fun time dancing the night away...this is the place for you. If you want a more sophisticated evening out, try another place.

I so wanted to love afternoon tea at Camelia's, but I just wasn't impressed. Don't get me wrong,…read morethe aesthetics are IMPRESSIVE. The metallic wallpaper, the chandelier, the velvet banquets and pub chairs are all indulgent and immersively pink. However, the quality of the food and service were just not up to my expectations or the price point of $80.00 per person. Even though there were only 4 tables of two at our 11am Thursday reservation, there was only one server and the food took a while to come out. This is despite the fact that nothing was hot and I suspect it was all pre-prepared and came out of a fridge in the back. First bites of cornbread were served at 11:30 and our savory snacks at 11:45am. Sweet treats (including cold scones) were served at 12:10pm. The food was fine, but there wasn't any one thing that I really loved. I did like the timers on the table for the different types of tea. It was a fun and interactive way to see how long your type of tea should be steeped. However, there was no way to remove the tea leaves from your teapot once it had reached the correct steeping time... so it just continued to steep from there. Maybe it's better for champagne cocktails? Go for the aesthetics. I wouldn't recommend going for the tea.
