I've been to Charleston a dozen times, and somehow just discovered this spot on a recent visit. Their dinner menu has variety of selections and reasonable price! The garlic chicken dish with lime and cilantro rice was so delicious, juicy and well season, the creamy sauce compliments the dish very well! The braised short rib was juicy and tender served on top of savory mash potatoes,fresh seared string beans and topped with crunchy fried onions, rather sweeter sauce balances the overall flavor of the dish! The service was friendly and attentive The place has a pub ambiance on the first floor, and on the second floor there are more tables with more space. Good selection of beers in can, although I wish they have something on the tap as well. I will definitely come back again to this restaurant when I am in Charleston! read more

I was disappointed in the food at this place. We had heard that the Beef Ribs were excellent so that is what one son and I ordered. It was not to our taste. It was nothing but gobs of fat in our bowls over mashed potatoes. Hardly any meat, tasted a little sweet. I was told the veggies would be squash, zucchini and broccoli when I asked what veggies come with it. Well, no broccoli or squash, they used eggplant. I HATE eggplant. So really I had about two bites of meat and a little mashed potatoes with two pieces of zuchini. We both intensely disliked it. Not to mention we didn't realize it would all be served together, meat on top of mashed potatoes in a bowl with the veggies mixed in. We don't like making a scene so we ate it in silence with me leaving half my bowl full of the fat and the eggplant. We had ordered a charcuterie board to share, so I ate a good portion of that as my main dinner. Also, the portion of food for the price was not a lot. The bowls were kind of small. The price is very expensive. $200 for four people. I gave it three stars because my meal may not have been to my satisfaction but my other son loved his lamb burger-otherwise it may have gotten two stars. I'm not sure if I will try it again. Probably not. First impressions can really make a difference. One glass of wine was $16 dollars here when they are around $8 dollars everywhere else so we paid $32 dollars for 10 ounces of wine. Maybe because it is downtown on Market Street? It was a little too expensive for sub-par food in our opinion. The one day I decided to eat Gluten and it was a meal not worthy of my pain that I always experience after. The Vibe of the place was nice. Rustic yet elegant. Nice tables with tablecloths. I loved the atmosphere. Just wish the food was better. Can't say I'd recommend it if you are visiting Charleston. There are too many other great places downtown to try. But who knows, you may like it if you try the burger. Or if you like fat.. by all means get the beef ribs. My son ate his fat.. he said if he didn't eat the fat he wouldn't have had much of a supper. The bar area was quiet and practically empty, which made it the perfect little hideaway. I ordered the charcuterie board, which comes with three meats and three cheeses. Everything was nicely presented, though I could've done without the smoked sausage, it felt a bit too heavy for the board. The bacon jam was delicious, and the bartender brought me a side of honey Dijon mustard, which ended up being the perfect pairing. We also ordered shrimp and grits with Cajun seasoning and sausage. This also had great taste with a some good spice (9/10). Our group also order a flatbread which was good (8/10) and a wine slushy flight which had four different flavors (6/10) What to expect when you enter the restaurant... There is a nice bar on the right with some tables and plenty of bar seating, and on the left there are steps to the upstairs. There plenty of tables inside along with some outside seats. The short rib hash was pretty good although it was a little heavy on the onion side (ate some of it already in the pic because the meat was completely buried under.) Meat was tender, peppers cooked perfectly, and the caramelization from the onion mountain did end up benefiting the all the components. All the food plating looks amazing! Every dish is mouth watering to look at and beautiful. Definitely a classy appeal. They have a respectable wine and cocktail selection, including several wine flight options as well wine "slushies" to-go in a drinkable pouch. Our waiter, John, was great and managed to give us service frequently despite it being very, very busy during the Disney villain drag brunch. They have a monthly drag brunch, which was a fun experience. It was pretty packed in the small 2nd floor dining area, but not uncomfortably so. Depending on the group size, you might end up sharing a table, but everyone's pretty invested in the show. They were even able to serve every table during the performances. I highly recommend! I'm looking forward to trying out the dinner too. read more
