Solid spot. We walked in and grabbed a table in the longer area which is first come first serve, super easy. I had the eggs benedict and it hit the spot. They had a band playing which was a nice touch and made the vibe feel fun without being too much. Service was good and everything came out quick. Would definitely go back.

One of the only places open downtown at 11:30 on a Saturday mornin--what's up with that?! Anyway the service was excellent. Food was tasty--great omelet and sweet potato hash. The Caesar salad was dry and the toast croutons were absolutely nothing special. Truffle fries, on the other hand, were outstanding. Truly a delicious experience.

Service was fantastic! Ambiance top notch! The steak was cooked perfectly, just a little bland. I also had the oysters fried, excellent with the paired sauce.

I went here for the restaurant week deal! Everything was delicious and I'm very glad I got to try it. Upscale and fancy ambience, very nice staff.

Great service, ambience, and friendly staff. Food is good! A big on the higher end/pricier side.

First off, service is amazing. They kept my sparking water cold on ice and kept it filled (I could see it in the ice bucket nearby, a touch that matters!). Annie M. was my server and was beautiful, warm, and helpful with the recommendations. A real girls girl, if that makes sense, and I really appreciated that. In fact, everyone here was so stylish and beautiful, but didn't make you feel less than or like you had to be dressed any fancier than you were. I started with the fried green tomatoes, with pimento cheese. These were fine, but could have used maybe a little more spice or seasoning? I've had better, especially when bacon is involved, but they were still good. I had the special, which was swordfish with beans, swimming in lobster bisque, dressed in crisp greens. It was a DELICIOUS meal, complex flavors that burst in my mouth. The sword fish was prepared expertly. I am so glad I took the chance! Other entrees available: she-crab soup calamari, oysters, scallops, salmon, halibut, shrimp and grits, crab cakes, steaks (wagyu, ribeye, filet mignon, NY strip). Bar: I had this summer rose (gin, st. Germaine, elderflower liqueur, rosemary, grapefruit juice, lime); reposado Royale (clase Azul, st. Germaine, maraschino liqueur, sparking wine, lemon twist), and high thyme (gin, blackberry liqueur, cranberry juice, orgeat syrup, thyme, lemon). The drinks were great, but unlike many places I've been, the food is the show here. Wonderful experience and would return without hesitation because this is a trifecta: ambiance/service, food, booze.

We had great service at the bar and lounge. We came in because our original option was closed but really enjoyed our espresso martinis. The perfect amount of froth, sweetness and perfectly coffee forward. They had great live music and lots of intimate searing options. I will definitely be back to try some of their bar bites and the actual restaurant.

Warm welcome and attentive service, ,nice large bar area that got lively as the evening went on. Interesting drinks and we tried the burger which was good. We will come back.

My daughter, wife, and I enjoyed a fabulous meal at High Cotton during our overnight stay in Charleston. Even on a Monday evening, the dining room was busy when we arrived for our 8 p.m. seating. We had made a reservation a couple of days in advance and were glad we did. We were seated in a comfy raised semicircle booth. Live music wafted in from the room next door. One of the owners was visiting tables and stopped by to thank us for coming by. Nice touch. My daughter started with a lovely High-Thyme cocktail made with gin, thyme, and blackberries. We had a nice Barolo red wine for the table that they decanted for us when asked. A bread basket appeared to help take the edge off for our late dinner. My daughter ordered the wagyu, my wife ordered scallops, and I ordered the prime rib steak. The wagyu had a smoky, bacon-like taste that was delicious. The scallops were perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. My medium-rare steak was rich and meaty. We also shared sides of mashed potatoes and asparagus, which were yummy. To cap everything off, we shared a mini hummingbird cake and a slice of chocolate cheesecake. The hummingbird cake was our favorite, but the cheesecake was no slouch. Service was top-notch, and it was a team effort to deliver all our meals at the same time. Everyone was friendly, kind, and enjoyable to chat with. We had a great time and will return to try some other dishes.

The blueberry muffins at brunch were probably the best part of the menu. I also really liked the omelette, although it could have more mushrooms, it was heavy on the goat cheese. The scallops were slightly raw so I wasn't a fan but my friend was. Good Benedict although one egg was overcooked

Updating the review of High Cotton to emphasize the amazing atmosphere with small live bands or duos almost every night. Our must stop EVERY TIME we are in Charleston!

Went here with some friends while visiting them, we had a reservation and still waited more than 15 minutes to be sat. When we were seated the server was funny and friendly, she provided specials and great recommendations. Our server kept the drinks flowing and when our steaks arrived they were cooked to perfection. Overall the restaurant is nice and when the dinning area was full it was extremely loud inside.

    Do they have parking?

    No... you pay for parking

Is this place accessible for someone with a walker?

Yes. May be one step up but not steep.

    Do you need reservations?

It's depends on the day and time you are trying to dine. I would grab a reservation just in case! You're able to make reservations online.

    What is the dress code?

We dressed business casual but there were people there in jeans and sweats

What is parking like? Is it valet or is there a garage/lot to park in?

They didn't have valet but there's a parking garage a block from there that was reasonably priced. I think we paid $5.

    Is brunch available on Saturday?

Yes. According to their website, brunch is available Saturday and Sundays from 10am- 2pm

Is there live jazz on Saturday night?

The Saturday night I was there they have live jazz but most of the rooms you cannot actually see the musicians but you can hear them and it all adds up to an elegant dinner experience.

Who is the guy greeting guests (sorry I don't remember his name) and shaking hands as guests enter and leave?

    Alpha...he's amazing

Would this place be ok to bring my 10&8 year old for their fathers birthday?

Yes, we would welcome your children! We have Children's Menus for both brunch and dinner.

They have a full bar if you'd like a standard cocktail or any other creation I'm sure they could make it. Our server was great and very attentive. The kitchen stopped serving food at 10pm which I wish we had been told when we came in because I tried to order fries at 10:04 and was told I couldn't. Which I understand I just wish I had known. The place is pretty small and dark and very quiet so the perfect place for a calm nightcap.

I have never had a bad drink here. I got the Batata Clarified Milk Punch (description in picture) which was fantastic. The toasted marshmallow garnish was a great touch for the season we were in. My mom got the Bourbon and Clyde and she said it was incredible. Description also in picture. The orange foam and pistachio crumble was a great addition. Another great drink for autumn. My second drink was the Smokin Indo which was probably my favorite. They performed the smoked glass technique with applewood which was not only cool to watch but added a unique flavor to the drink. We always make a point to get the assorted cheeses when we are here because they make a great charcuterie board. They switch up the cheeses just like they change their cocktail menu.
