This is an absolute treasure! The cocktails are delicious, the interior is a classic country vibe, and the music is perfect! Bartender was great and accommodating with drink options. We had a great time while here on Sunday and we'll be back again for sure.

Eggs, rabbit and pork sausages, and hash brown.

I must admit that sometimes I'm skeptical of "renowned" restaurants...but Husk's brunch totally lived up to the hype. The biscuits and gravy were the best we've ever had. The gravy was chunky with bits of sausage, and so savory...I think flavored with fresh sage. The consistency was perfect. The biscuits were fantastic. The house made rabbit and pork sausages with my eggs was so good! Very rich, so flavorful. The eggs were cooked perfectly. The hash brown was so interesting...I think it was super finely sliced (maybe grated) potatoes, then pressed into a pan, and then cut into a slice. It was delicious! The cheese grits were like none I've ever had before...again, so savory...I couldn't place what herbs were used...maybe marjoram...not sure, regardless best grits I've ever had. The bacon was thick and cooked crispy, just how I like it. Service was flawless. Ambiance was casual elegance. Highly recommend!

Oysters

The menu changes daily and it might not be for everyone. For me it was exceptional. Some highlights include: fresh oysters with a refreshing mignonette in a dropper bottle Tuna tostadas Tuna carpaccios Scallop crudo - it literally melted in your mouth. Exceptional! The menu is gluten sensitive which was appreciated by our party. We didn't get to experience the desserts but they sounded amazing. Overall, the menu is limited and changes daily so picky eaters beware. Most people can find something on the menu and it can be an amazing culinary experience.

We came in for a drink before our dinner reservation. They are first come first serve seating. The inside is beautiful. They also have a menu with food but less options than the fine dining restaurant next door. I had a Wendy Peppercorn which was delicious. The bartenders were great to talk to. If you're in the area or were unable to get a reservation at the fine dining restaurant, definitely try out the bar at Husk.

Wonderful experience! Stopped in for impromptu dinner and drinks. My husband got the fried catfish. It was perfectly cooked in a cornmeal coating. The collards were sweet yet vinegary in the best way. The rice it game with was also super flavorful. The shrimp lettuce wraps were delicious. They had a ton of protein on them and the ancho chile flakes gave just enough of a kick. The BEC egg salad sando was also great. A not so traditional take on an egg salad sandwich; cut up on thick bread with bacon crumbles... yum. Our drinks were tasty too, but I'd definitely go back for the food! Our server was great and our food came out pretty quickly too. The lounge upstairs isn't as loud as the bar downstairs which I appreciated as we wanted something more intimate. They also have a beautiful patio area that we'd love to try one day when it's a little warmer.

We stopped by the Bar at Husk for after-dinner cocktails on a whim. We walked there in the rain after dinner last weekend (thanks to a recommendation!) and it did not disappoint. Sarah is a phenomenal bartender who truly knows how to blend flavors into beautifully balanced cocktails. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and we loved it so much that we went back the very next night instead of trying anywhere else. Highly recommend stopping in if you're looking for expertly crafted drinks and great conversation in a relaxed, intimate setting.

Bar at Husk is the spot to grab an amazing cocktail and food. If you're looking for a more casual experience (versus dining at Husk), then this is the spot to go in Charleston, SC. Yes, order the Old Fashioned. If you're hungry, get the Husk Burger. The atmosphere was nice and the bartender was friendly. I'd 100% come back if I'm ever back in this part of the country. The only thing that could've made the experience better is if Sean Brock was still around!

We didn't get food here but the menu looked good. I would recommend the blackberry soda and dragoons milk. Our server was nice and the drinks came fast. The whole place had good AC and felt very old world tavern with exposed brick and historical feature. I highly recommend

Give the bartender a price point and flavor you'd like and he'll pick for you since there's hundreds (or just a LOT!)

Made sure they offered the full menu menu at this little off-shoot before sitting down....I had no reservation, I just found a good spot and sat, which was way cool and had the best bourbon bartender on the planet.... I told him my price range and my taste and he picked me the perfect bourbon sipper! I am usually a whiskey fan, but he chose the Old Forester 1910 bourbon whisky from Louisville. And could not have been happier. I also ordered the chicken fried wagyu beef tips...which you'd think would have ruined the beef, but nope - it was soooo good and the yellowfin tuna which was served with Gold rice, smoked trout roe - I opted out of the roe - with Koji Mayo and horseradish... both were like appetizers but were enough food for me. And both were absolutely fantastic! This is the spot! Excellent food, great service!

Always amazing! I sat upstairs and split a burger and some drinks with my mom around 5 and we had a great time. My fresh apple cocktail was so amazing and great for the fall. A server in the restaurant told me in November that they were doing a Christmas theme in the bar but I haven't seen anything yet as of 12/6.

Old Fashion and Pimento Cheese for the win!

Food, service and atmosphere can't be beat! It was the perfect place to rest our feet after a day of walking, we went back two days in a row.

When you forget to make reservations at Husk, this is a warm and friendly option. Very cool two story play with a bar and some spacious seating. Friendly bartenders who take pride in their drinks. The Oysters were great. Also tried the burgers which were very good. Wasn't dinner at Husk but allowed us a great alternative.

Stacy S.

Great spot for a pre (or post) dinner drink. Lovely building, staff with a great sense of humor and delicious cocktails.

I have never had a bad drink here. I got the Batata Clarified Milk Punch (description in picture) which was fantastic. The toasted marshmallow garnish was a great touch for the season we were in. My mom got the Bourbon and Clyde and she said it was incredible. Description also in picture. The orange foam and pistachio crumble was a great addition. Another great drink for autumn. My second drink was the Smokin Indo which was probably my favorite. They performed the smoked glass technique with applewood which was not only cool to watch but added a unique flavor to the drink. We always make a point to get the assorted cheeses when we are here because they make a great charcuterie board. They switch up the cheeses just like they change their cocktail menu. Love to sit at the bar because it is truly an art to watch the bartenders make these drinks and really adds to the experience. Everyone who works here is super kind and knowledgeable on their craft. However, if you are able to be there when the two Doar brothers are working it makes it truly special. They give postcards with their check and there's a bowl of matchbooks sitting on the bar. One of the best cocktail bars in Charleston. Debated writing this because I selfishly want to keep it under the radar but it definitely deserves its accolades.

The service was on point and the bartender was killing it at the bar - multitasking making 3 drinks all at once. It was super impressive and I took a few videos of him. I'm giving 4 stars because the first cocktail I ordered was SO SWEET that I couldn't get it down. I tried to drink it but had to send it back. We asked when we ordered about the flavor profile and supposedly it wasn't sweet, but all 3 of us agreed it was way oversweet. My black manhattan was phenomenal and my husband had a mocktail moscow mule that was awesome. Overall, I'd come back again - just be mindful of the ingredients in the drink and modifying as needed for sweetness. Make a reservation if you can!

Complete perfection in a meal, where everything from drinks to appetizer, entree, and dessert is…read morerare, but last night at the Iron Rose they came really close. To start Abigail, our waitress, was attentive, helpful, super sweet and just about the best waitress I have ever had. My wife and I ordered a round of cocktails, expecting the usual great description with subsequent lack luster drinks. Last night was different, midnight bloom which is their take on an old fashioned, but really in a different league; Smooth complex, and satisfying. My wife got the Ruby Ruby which is sort of a pomegranate martini with champagne. Refreshing and vibrant. For appetizers we had the blue crab fritters and the pork belly. The fritters were crispy, light, and full of crab flavor. Virtually no filler. I could have eaten a hundred. The pork belly was crispy, and rich without being too heavy. They also serve it in a white sauce that I was still thinking about the next day. For entrees we got the Roasted grouper and the pork shank. The grouper was maybe a bit overcooked and dry, but the accompanying butter beans stole the show. The were rich, and layered with flavor. I will never see the simple butter bean in the same way ever again. The pork was fall off the bone tender without being dry. The sauce it was served in was a masterpiece. There were hints of apple, berry, cinnamon, and many other notes, I would drink it by the glass if it was available. We split the gelato for dessert. Pure delight. Smooth, bursting with flavor, and leaving you wanting for more. All in all, except for a small misstep with the cook on the grouper a near perfect dinner. I would go there soon because a Michelin star can not be far off, and then getting a table will be a near impossibility.

Bites: Tuna Crudo, Pickled White Shrimp. Entrees: Charred Octopus, Seared Scallops, Cider Braised Pork Shank, Market Fish (Halibut). Veggies: Flash Fried Brussels Sprouts. Dessert: Chocolate Crunch Cake. Our server, Lillian, was really helpful with dietary restrictions and menu recommendations. Thank you for a memorable meal. If the dining room wasn't as loud, this would have been a 5 star review.

Finds your table, if you arrive early for a reservation we had luck with them seating us and he says a kind goodbye as we left each time. Nice list of 3 mocktails so even if not consuming alcohol one can look to play the part at the table and enjoy the flavor notes of a well made cocktail. The first meal we had was a bit of a work/get together meal. We ordered an assortment of items off of the menu and created a more tapas menu. The charcuterie board we picked the cheeses for and it was lovely. All as expected and quite surprised to find a cheddar I enjoyed. Came with some grapes, figs, nuts, honey and I think mustard. Glazed carrots were phenomenal. Heartily enjoyed the beet salad and thought the presentation was quite pretty. Lamb lettuce wraps are alright. Not my favorite of all the dishes served but delivered as promised, nicely cooked and presented. Spouse really liked the lamb wraps and were a stand out dish to them. Meatballs are excellent truly great texture and flavor. Escargot was a fun take on a classic dish. Finished with a unique strudel in its presentation it was quite pleasant. Spouse liked the peanut butter chocolate dessert. For brunch, I had the carrot ginger soup. Which I must say was a total delight. The soup had the hallmark texture and base flavor of the carrot ginger but it had a beautiful breath of savory and some heat seasoning wise to it. It was quite an elevated soup and heartily enjoyed! I followed the carrot soup with a French toast. I am all for softly scrambled eggs but the French toast was a touch undercooked. (I did not let the restaurant know or give them the chance to make right. I regularly eat soft boiled eggs and soft scrambled so I felt comfortable with consuming them.) Strawberries were ripe and tasty. The whipped cream was gorgeous in thickness and flavor. One in law had the caesar salad with croutons and grilled chicken. Their bowl was left clean so while they are not the talkative of sorts they did seem to enjoy it. Ordered a baguette with butter. Unfortunately the butter never made it to the table but the baguette was enjoyed. Spouse had the Azur burger with the side of tapas style potatoes. All was cooked properly to temperature and texture. Flavor and taste as promised. Wasn't their favorite dish at Azur as we had tried so many lovely dishes a few evenings before. But it did deliver on what was represented in the menu. Other in law had the quiche and a side salad. They liked the quiche and would order it again.
