We were doing our annual walk through of the Charleston Place, and spotted a quiet corner table in the club bar, and made a beeline for it. Out of tge crush, but listening to joyful voices and Christmas music in the background added to our joy. Kennedy was a terrific host, serving us a delicious bowl of warmed carmelized mixed nuts with our cocktails... While sadly the Bees Knees lacked the finese of a true bees knees, the Monte Jalisco was amazing. Ill know to order better next time.

Girls weekend in Charleston and it was the night before it officially started and others arrived. Came here for a cocktail before dinner. I got their "Sweet Dreams" cocktail and it was perfect. Hugh was a great bartender. Atmosphere encouraged conversation and the three of us talked to a few others. Some were local, some visiting.

We went for dessert at this classy and elegant restaurant located in The Charleston Place. The flaming crème brûlée was rich and creamy with carmelized sugar on top! Too notch service and an overall incredible experience. A bit pricey, but well worth it if you want to splurge and eat delicious food. I look forward to going back and trying the small plates.

We stopped in for a quick drink. Staff was very professional helpful and sincere. Inside is beautifully decorated. I had the espresso martini which was awesome.

Beautiful bar located in the Charleston Place hotel. We only had a drink but they were both top tier. Our bartender was very friendly and shared some interesting facts about the city.

Our multiple visits to Thoroughbred Club (it's the lobby bar of Charleston Place) demonstrated they have really good service - as I've come to expect in Charleston (service that would be notable in other cities). Drinks are fine; pricing is as-expected. Complimentary bar snacks (warm salted chile-garlic nuts) are better than expected. This is all good, right - so why the "OK" rating? The downside for me is that the design of the room has lots of different areas to sit comfortably, but nowhere really to hide away. If you're stuck sitting anywhere near a lout (we were, one time), you're going to suffer. The vibe is more "airport-cocktail-bar-waiting-on-your-flight" than "private club where you can relax and talk." Great service and bar snacks. Drinks are fine. Room is fine-ish. It's okay.

This place is awesome. It has been spice we moved here decades ago. Ambiance can not be beat. Look up - the ceiling is a wonderful green. The woodwork is something you would want your den done with. Ask for Chris. What a pro. When was the last time a waitperson asked you your name and remembered it ? Great service. Maybe the best Manhattan in the low country. That's what originally caught us. She crab soup is a wonder. Don't skip it. Unless you are allergic and then by all means skip it. Turkey club was ok. Not amazing but ok. It's a turkey club. How magical is it going to be. The fries are not to be missed. I dunked them in my soup. Suspect the ketchup might be house made. Yum! Don't forget a desert cocktail. Not many places have them anymore. Don't forget your check book. It is in Charleston Place after all. Well done folks. Well done !

Thoroughbred Club is a fantastic hotel bar in Charleston Place with musicians playing piano and the harp in the lobby. My friend and I had lunch here during the holidays. Excellent customer service! I had their Turkey Club sandwich with fries and it was so good! Sweet Tea was a little unsweet but they had extra sugar packets. Loved the Tabasco hot sauce mini bottles too! I will come back in the future.

The atmosphere at The Thoroughbred Club is clubby, sophisticated and refined in keeping with the Charleston Place Hotel's upscale feel and over the top common areas. The living room lounge" feel is complete with live music. On any given day you will hear a harpist, a guitarist or a pianist. So take a seat, sit back and enjoy the well- traveled spirit selections. A great way to start or end an evening with the menu offerings ranging from lunch favorites to tapas and dessert selections. The service is attentive and professional. On my visit to The Thoroughbred Club recently it was so nice to take in all of the hotel's holiday decorations, trees and glitter throughout the main areas and it certainly helped to get into the holiday mood and foster that holiday spirit.

We ended our long weekend here at Charleston Place in the beautiful hotel's Thoroughbred Club. Located opposite of the check-in desk this hotel. This bar has several cozy tables and is elegant with rich wood paneling. We entertained by an harpist playing in the lobby and later with someone playing the piano inside the bar area. Cocktails are expertly crafted. Was lucky enough they had a milk washed cocktail on the menu. If you've never had a milk washed cocktail order it. The milk clarifies the alcohol's impurities making it clear with a rich and fluffy texture. This one was a bourbon based punch and washed down easily. I also got the old fashion and it was a very generous pour. They also provide some bar snacks to munch on and we also opted to order some food to make it a meal. The gumbo was delicious and hit the spot. The tartare was fine but perhaps a little heavy on the Dijon mustard. Service was five star.

We went during the busy holiday season and promptly gave our name for a table. This highly anticipated stop is located in gorgeous Charleston Place. Our table was in the side room, which was fine. Bar area was absolutely packed. We ordered our drinks from an overworked server... and waited... and waited. We watched others who arrived after us get their cocktails and drinks. After quite some time, BF was able to inquire about our drinks. When they finally arrived, both were good. As others suggested, we decided to get appys which looked delicious. These were slow to arrive and were placed at someone else's table, prior to being scooped up, moved behind us, and served to us... Shishito peppers were bland, and wings were average, but lacking in flavor. My salad was good. We were going to order a couple more items, but server was curt and irritable, as well as food being mediocre. Instead, we paid our check and went elsewhere. I know that places are short staffed, but between the attitude of our server, our food being placed at the wrong table, and mediocre food, it was a disappointing visit.

A great girl's trip cocktail hour. Service was great. A needed break from shopping.

Popped over here for a night cap. We were able to snag a table in the corner for 8 of us. This is inside the Charleston place and it had a cool old cigar lounge/casino vibe. Our server was nice and was accommodating to our large group. My drink was a strawberry milk punch, it was good and light, not super spirit forward. I definitely wanna come back and try more things.

When we visited on a weekday evening, we were seated quickly with no wait! We started with the corn ribs, which were honestly one of the BEST appetizers we've ever had! They had the texture and flavor of ribs but were made from corn and served with an incredible chipotle dipping sauce that brought everything together perfectly! For our main dish, we ordered the spinach and feta pita, which was warm, gooey, and packed with flavor. The pita was stuffed with spinach and feta, making it rich and comforting--almost like a warm hug. It also came with a fresh side salad that was tangy and refreshing, which balanced the richness of the pita really well! I do wish that the pita was a bit more flavorful on the inside, not just the outside. My husband also ordered an Old Fashioned and said it was excellent. Overall, the food felt incredibly fresh and thoughtfully prepared. If you're looking for a cozy spot in Charleston with fresh ingredients and great flavors, this place is definitely worth visiting!

It's modern, fresh and the staff are nice. I give the entire place 4 stars because their food is good, I did try something I never had before that I would give a 3 star rating though. I decided to get the blueberry glazed chicken wings. The staff said that they were amazing and that the blueberry sauce was like a bbq sauce with a hint of blueberry. I thought why not. I love a good chicken wing. The chicken was cooked well, it was moist in the center but it was like the chicken was swimming in blueberry puree. There was little bbq sauce flavor and tasted like straight blueberries, what was more disappointing was the sauce was so drenched on it that the crisp of the wing was gone, it was soggy. No one likes a soggy chicken wing. If I ever got these again which I probably wouldn't, I would ask for the sauce on the side or light sauce. This place is worth going to if you're in the area, the food is good and staff are nice, but I would stay away from the wings in my opinion.

Everyone was so personable and attentive. For appetizers, the beef carpaccio was my favorite. For entrées, we ordered the pork chop, tuna, duck, and lamb -- and we all shared bites. Everything was delicious. My pork chop did come out a little dry, but when I mentioned it, our waitress didn't hesitate at all. She immediately took it back and insisted on bringing a new one, making me feel completely comfortable about saying something. While I waited, she brought me a complimentary soup, which was such a thoughtful touch, and the replacement came out quickly. The manager personally brought out the new dish and waited while I cut into it to make sure it was perfect. She even came back later to check again. That level of attention to detail really stood out. To top it off, they brought out dessert and a round of champagne for the table. I wasn't drinking, and they noticed -- so they brought me a mocktail without me even asking. That kind of attentiveness is rare. The inside looked beautiful, and I'd love to sit inside next time to experience the full vibe, but outside was perfect -- not too cold, not windy, and overall just a great atmosphere.
