Backbar cheeseburger
Karen C.

Love the inside of this restaurant which is located in an old historic building. My husband and I recently stopped here for lunch and had a really nice meal. The service was excellent and we both enjoyed our meals. I had the backbar cheeseburger. It was huge! Two really nicely seasoned smashed patties with pickles, carmelized onions and a yummy special sauce. My husband had the catfish po boy. He said it was good. He liked the roll it came on. We were both really full after.

Post House Inn is such a special spot. From the moment I walked in, the service felt incredibly thoughtful -- warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. You can tell the staff truly cares about the experience they're creating. The food was comforting in the best way, but with unique, elevated touches that made every dish feel intentional and memorable. I tried the back bar cheeseburger, goat cheese crème brûlée, anson mills cornbread, apple crumble and sweet potato buttermilk pie. Between the cozy atmosphere, exceptional service, and beautifully prepared food, Post House Inn delivers an experience that feels both refined and relaxed. Already looking forward to going back.

We went to Post House for the first time for my birthday! A great way to celebrate nice little touches! A card, a dessert and an overall wonderful experience for my birthday! We had Bee's Knees and The Pineapple Margarita as cocktails both fantastic, for starters Peach Brulee and Goat Cheese Crème Brulee both were fantastic, it was a salad style and a dip style! So good! I would get both again! We got the roasted chicken and confit duck leg, both so tender and delicious with simple but great sides that paired so well. For dessert the Turtle Cake...I'll add I'm also GF and all these were easily adjusted to that! Staff was so easy to give accommodations and recommendations! We will be back!

Came with some friends for drinks and snacks very yummy! Such a fun vibe, but it does get very busy even on weekdays. We got some margs, fries and sticky toffee pudding. 100% will go back and excited to try the dinner options!

Wow wow wow. I wish I could eat here every day. I made a reservation online ahead of time to ensure we could get wheelchair seating and they were great! Our server was so friendly and helpful. Everyone around us seemed to be having a great time. The outdoor seating looked beautiful, I'd love to try sitting there in the future. We started with the brussel sprouts and goat cheese brûlée. The spring ravioli was phenomenal, so light and delicate. The pork chop had amazing veggies! I can't recommend this place enough.

Went to post house for restaurant week! It was very delicious. Our server was amazing and took very good care of us. Would definitely recommend if you have never been before!

First visit to the Post house left me feeling unsure if I'd visit again. Arrived around 6pm for a reservation and was greeted warmly by the hostess and immediately seated. We were seated in an area celebrating a birthday - which was wonderful- but the party was very loud and over the top so that immediately took away some of the ambiance. The waitress though pleasant, didn't seem overly engaged or enthusiastic about serving us. Just simply doing her job- nothing more. Nothing less. I would attempt to make small talk and it was brushed off. The cornbread and braised short ribs were wonderful. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal. The apple crumble was good but not as much of a stand out as the appetizer and entree.

We had such a lovely time here! The service was superb. Food was tasty and fresh. Ambiance is perfect for date night. I love how tucked away this little restaurant is. Parking was easy on a Friday night. The inn is tucked away in a stunning neighborhood. Perfect to watch the sunset from the street (where we parked). It was nice enough to sit outside so we opted for the patio dining. It's so cute on the patio! They have both cushioned lounge seating (better if you're just getting snacks and drinks) and then actual tables for dining outside. It seemed that they had heaters on the patio for colder nights but they were not on the evening we dined so I'm not sure. We tried the crab toast (absolutely AMAZING), Caesar salad (fresh), swordfish (sooooo good! And a big portion for the fish), and the shrimp cavatelli (like eating a tomato bisque pasta- yummy!) For dessert we had the sweet potato pie which I really enjoyed. Such a lovely dinner - oh, and did I mention that the cocktails and wine selection were great? Definitely would come here again

I love eating at Post House! The food is always so good, and the restaurant is located in Old Village which is such a beautiful gem. We made a reservation for dinner last night and were sat right away! We enjoyed snacking on the crudite and French onion dip + Caesar salad (not pictured). Our waitress was also this very sweet young woman who was very attentive! I had the filet and my fiancé got the cavatelli, both were delicious!! The steak had an herb butter on it that had tarragon in it. My mom said she didn't care for the tarragon but I didn't mind. Since it was my birthday, the restaurant put out these specialize birthday menus and the waitstaff signed a card for me which was such a nice touch!! We ordered the banana pudding and we were gifted the turtle cake (which was my favorite between the two). The cake is definitely sweeter than the pudding, but I didn't find it to be over powering. I would definitely recommend this place to friends + family!

Came for brunch. Good cocktails, great food and even better service! We had some allergies and our server accommodated perfectly and even gave great recommendations. Big servings and everything was delicious!

Our waiter was the sweetest, funniest, and most helpful! We had a large party and he made our group feel welcomed and not rushed. The food was great. Happy we did not pass up on the desserts!

I haven't been to the post house in a long time. I wasn't really sure what to expect of the menu. Unfortunately I don't eat much fish although the fish dishes sounded amazing, so I went for the easy route and picked the burger. Holy cow! I am so glad I did. It was juicy delicious had so much flavor in every bite. The fries were delicious as well. I did get the goat cheese starter for an appetizer and everything in that dish was amazing. From the strawberry to the way, the goat cheese was whipped to the pieces of bread that crumbled as you took a bite. It was chefs kiss. I do love the ambience as well, how it's a little bit dark inside, but makes you feel like you're in an old-fashioned hotel. The server was so sweet and did a really good job serving our table and getting everything in a timely matter. I will 100% be back!

Joined a friend here for dinner. The hosts were welcoming, they also gave us the matchboxes for our collection! We were taken to our seats and the dining area was stunning. They have booth options, tables, and window seating available near the bar. I ordered a Caesar salad and added chicken. The meal was delicious, they packed my leftovers for me. I can't wait to come back and enjoy again!

What a beautiful evening at The Shellmore. A later evening…read moredinner gave the already intimate setting that much more ambiance. Starting dinner off right with some deliciously fresh raw oysters complete with a traditional "onion" mignonette, and then Chef Eric brought out a little special treat....the base was fresh lump crab meat topped with some chunked watermelon and the most light, fresh, delicious dressing & crunch. WOW. I could eat that all summer. Moving onto the main courses, a perfectly cooked NY strip & root veggies with a love boat of fresh sauces. Chimi, steak butter, and a horseradish crema. As if the steak needed any sauce, but with that trifecta?? I couldn't help myself. Incredible. The other entree, a risotto and shrimp. Incredibly flavorful, complete with crisp English peas. As I write this, I wish I had another plateful. The bartender is the Chef's little lady, & she was a GEM! I cannot remember her name, but she goes to estate sales, and thrifts the beautiful dishes and glassware that they use in the restaurant, which I thought was so neat! These two truly have put their heart and soul into this little place and you can tell. The menu is of a smaller variety, but variety for sure. Chef Eric changes the menu up daily/weekly, so you never know what you may get, and I think that is honestly one of the best parts about this place. You can tell they care, from the food to the atmosphere they have created. This one deserves all the 5 stars.

Our table also got the meat board, pimento with bacon jam, and the crab and artichoke dip. I loved the mac & cheese and I'm convinced that if you put that sauce on anything it would be 10 out of 10. I also loved the crab and artichoke dip which is served with warm pita, however, there were mixed reviews at our table. The dip was very crab forward, and the artichoke was barely perceptible. The only criticism of the charcuterie was that there was small portions. The pimento and bacon jam is served with Ritz crackers and one's pleasant, but I felt a little underwhelmed. However, for one of the people at our table, it was the favorite. We sat outside in the covered patio area, and I was surprised by how loud the outdoor seating was. If you're sensitive to overstimulation, sitting inside in the air conditioning would be a much more quiet experience. The service was a little slow, but overall the experience was wonderful and the restaurant is located right next to the water. We were there on a weekend and it was busy even though it was in between lunch and dinner. Parking was hard to come by, but that's to be expected for this location.

RED DRUM RESTAURANT - MOUNT PLEASANT, SC…read more First of all, I owe the wonderful team at Red Drum a BIG apology! I have been coming here for YEARS, and somehow I've never taken the time to leave them a review. Well, that's changing today because this place deserves some serious recognition! Let me tell you something about Red Drum. Charleston has no shortage of fantastic restaurants, especially when it comes to seafood, but Red Drum is in a league of its own! THE FOOD - ABSOLUTELY SPECTACULAR! In my opinion, Red Drum is easily one of the BEST places for seafood in the Charleston area! The quality, freshness, incredible flavours, and beautiful presentation are simply outstanding. Every dish looks like a work of art, and somehow tastes even better than it looks! You know you've found a GREAT restaurant when you walk out feeling like there's been a CIRCUS IN YOUR MOUTH! And trust me, Red Drum delivers the FULL THREE-RING CIRCUS! The flavours are dancing, the taste buds are celebrating, and your stomach is giving everyone a standing ovation! HAPPY HOUR, DRINKS & ATMOSPHERE! Another thing I absolutely LOVE about Red Drum is their fantastic happy hour specials! Great drinks, excellent food, and a wonderful atmosphere make this an awesome place to unwind after a long day. They also offer brunch, giving you even more reasons to visit! Whether you're stopping in for a drink, enjoying a romantic dinner, meeting friends, or celebrating something special, Red Drum has that perfect combination of upscale dining and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. NOW LET'S TALK ABOUT THE REAL SUPERSTARS - THE STAFF! As I've said in many of my reviews, fantastic food will bring people through the door, but OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE is what keeps them coming back! And this is where Red Drum absolutely SHINES! A HUGE shout-out to two of my favourite Irish bartenders, SEAN and CONOR! These two lads are absolutely BRILLIANT! They work together like a well-oiled machine, along with the rest of the incredible team. Even when the restaurant is completely packed, they're somehow always on top of everything! Drinks flowing, customers smiling, conversations happening, and somehow nobody gets forgotten! And being Irish, naturally they bring plenty of personality, charm, good humour, and that wonderful Irish hospitality to the experience! But what really impresses me is how well EVERYONE works together. There's genuine teamwork here, and you can tell these people take pride in what they do. No matter how busy things get, you're always greeted with a smile and treated like family. THAT, MY FRIENDS, IS WHAT GREAT HOSPITALITY IS ALL ABOUT! ANOTHER FANTASTIC EVENING! The wife and I were back again last night, and once again, Red Drum delivered an absolutely wonderful experience! Fantastic food, beautiful presentation, excellent drinks, plenty of laughs, and first-class service from beginning to end. I took some photos and videos because a place this good deserves to be shared! MY FINAL VERDICT! If you're visiting Charleston or live here in the Lowcountry and haven't experienced Red Drum in Mount Pleasant, you're seriously missing out! Come for the incredible seafood, stay for the atmosphere, enjoy the drinks, and make sure you say hello to Sean, Conor, and the rest of this outstanding team! To the owners, management, chefs, bartenders, servers, and everyone behind the scenes: THANK YOU for consistently delivering such an exceptional experience! And to Sean and Conor, keep up the brilliant work, lads! You're a credit to the restaurant and proof that a little Irish hospitality makes everything better! FIVE WELL-DESERVED STARS! THREE ENTHUSIASTIC THUMBS UP! And one VERY HAPPY circus of taste buds! HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
