I'm actually super bummed about this place. This is the most expensive nail salon in Marina. So with that being said, I'm expecting to have at least somewhat nice nails. I got a gel manicure and a gel pedicure. I was there for an insanely long time and after all was said and done, I ended up running straight to target to get a nail polish to cover up the lady's work. I'm one of those people that doesn't complain when something looks bad... which is totally my fault. But they looked horrible and I'll never go back there. I'm really not sure why people rave about this place. All of the other salons in Marina do a better job PLUS they are cheaper. I got my acrylic's removed, I called and made sure they would not rip them off and they assured me they soaked and drilled them off. They ended up ripping off half of my nails, which was very uncomfortable and damaging. They also said I had to get a manicure, which I was fine with, but I didn't really get one. She barely trimmed my cuticles, there was no massage, even though they said there would be on the phone, and my nails are very uneven and not shaped. They charged me, I said thank you as I was leaving and they didn't even look at me, they just continued their conversation. This was a horrible experience and so expensive for nothing. read more

I was coming here for about 3/4 months straight . And caught a fungus on my big left toe. Super freaking upset but i loved the tech i was seeing. I am unsure what or why people are still polishing peoples nails when in school they Clearly show what a fungus looks like, and still take them . Be careful . The service is 5 stars and the pricing is more like 2. For $66 I got the spa pedicure with regular polish and added glitter (+8) and I also got a regular manicure with french tip polish (+5). I don't live here, so I can't say how it compares to other salons in the area. I had Nancy and she was lovely - gave me suggestions and helpful critiques (thinner white polish for French tip looks best). However, she recommended glitter for my manicure and tried it on one nail and then failed to remove all the glitter. I've now got one sparkly nail... However, it's a few days out and my polish is still holding well. The cuticle work definitely could've been better and overall the attention to detail was a bit lacking. Expensive!!! Quality not bad but Expensive. This is the 3rd time I have gone here. First time was an emergency repair of a couple of nails and it was $15. Ok fine. Second time they took off my acrylics and got manicure with dip, $55 not thrilled but and fine. But today just manicure with dip, $45.00. What?!? Really?!? That is crazy. Love going to Polished to get my nails done by Tina! I make an appointment with Tina every two weeks to get a gel mani pedi. She does an excellent job every time! I used to always find an issue with my nails and pick at them all the time but I never do when Tina does them. It takes some time to get them done as I only want Tina to do both my hands and toes but the salon usually has enough people to do both at the same time. Unfortunately the nail tech cut my cuticle so bad I was bleeding for 20mins and was in so much pain. She decided to solve the problem with nail glue, which caused a huge scab. I asked her not to paint the nail bc it hurt so bad and I didn't want to risk infection. The tips she painted by hand are uneven, mismatched and misshapen. Polished is my go to nail salon in the Monterey area! I have always had the best service here, and all the staff are so nice. They are also very accommodating and will always squeeze you in if possible. This last time I went, I knew I wanted Disney Halloween themed nails for my trip to Disneyland, but was unsure of what exactly I wanted. I have came to Polished a few times and those times were fine but my visit today had to be the most disappointing. I got a pedicure which was fine as always and asked specifically for a soak off for my acrylic nails (got done by someone else) short almond nails that I had for a couple of weeks and wanted them off. When coming in I had made it very clear only wanted a soak off not a manicure to follow. Because on the phone when booking my appointment she offered me a manicure and I had said no but just ended the conversation. I felt in person I could've better explained myself. Which I thought I clearly did when I came in and they asked what I was interested in. After soaking them off and cutting my nails, she asked for me to choose a color. In response I let her know I do not want color or any type of coat on my nails because I do not want a manicure. She left my nails untouched after that. When going to check out after my pedicure I was told my total was 100 dollars!! Completely in shock I asked how much a soak off was and she express her coworker did a soak off and manicure. I tried to explain I had no color on my nails and not even a full manicure. It also states on their menu "Soak off 15+" under the acrylic section. She was expressing to me they just don't do soak offs? So Im confused onto why that is on their menu. Super frustrating experience because I did enjoy going there but now this has shifted my mindset. My acrylic set with gel turned out uneven and really thick, but nothing broke or chipped, and there was only minimal lifting, which could have been me because I fidget with my fingers a lot. I've been back and forth about writing this since I left last Monday. First off, I was charged $63 for a FILL! I had one broken nail and one lifting. I was told nail repair was between $5-$7 and the fill was $38 (which is extremely pricey but I was desperate).... How it became $25 for 2 nails to be fixed is beyond me! I asked for an easy "design" if it can even be called that. There was only polish used. No actual glitter or anything. The acrylic was left extremely thick and uneven, polish was all over the sides of my fingers, the lines for the "design" were not straight, and 4 days later, I had a nail break and polish was already peeling off. I didn't have time to get it fixed or argue what I was charged as I had an uber waiting outside for me already. All I have to say is I've never been so disappointed in my entire life while getting my nails done. This place is extremely overpriced and the quality of work is not too great. I don't know what has happened to this place, but it's gone downhill I have been a few times in the past and it was good , but expensive. My daughter and I went today and the place is a mess. It's dirty , falling apart and the service is horrible. They no longer have printed menus to select from. I was told to get up and read the wall menu as my feet were soaking. I opted for the medium level pedicure and it was terrible They kept trying to push a parabin wax. We declined the wax but were overcharged at checkout Anyway. The women who work there are all so nice but my pedicurist barely massaged my feet and legs and barely worked on my calluses. I get a regular pedicure and it was 33$. Every time I'm in Monterey this is definitely where I come to get my gel manicures. The owner is so friendly and has no problem helping out if you're having trouble picking a color or trying to replicate some nail inspo you've seen on Instagram or anywhere else. It's a little pricey but you absolutely get what you pay for so I don't mind splurging every once in a while. My nails always last 2+weeks so I think it's worth it!
