One of the first things I noticed is that it doesn't have the strong chemical smell that many salons do, which makes the experience much more comfortable. The chairs are comfortable, and the staff is always friendly, professional, and welcoming. They genuinely seem to enjoy what they do--you can often hear them laughing and having a good time while still providing excellent service. The quality of their work is consistently great. I appreciate the bags that line the tubs to make it clean and safe for us. The staff also speaks English very well, along with other languages, which makes communication easy and is something I really appreciate. Another thing I love is that they usually accommodate walk-ins. I've never had to wait long, which is a huge plus. My only criticism is that on a few occasions I stopped in just to have my gel polish removed, but I was told I would need to pay for a full manicure even though I only wanted the removal. I wish they offered a standalone gel removal service for customers who don't need a manicure. I also think the prices are higher at this salon than others in the area. I am very disappointed with my experience at this nail spa. I had my nails done for an important event, but less than a day later the nail polish started peeling off and several nails broke. This is actually the second time this has happened to me at this salon. I first visited a few years ago and had a bad experience, so I decided to give them another chance. Way over priced. . The kids chair is disgusting - Thry out a bag over the bottom but its grose. My 5yr old didnt even wanna sit in it. I wanted a gel french tip pedicure and they left teying to hand ne this menue of all these $80 - $100 packages. I said No a few times.. Just kept saying french tip. They finally understood.. My daughter got just a gel manicure and pedicure and it was $180 ! Then they got all the qr codes to send them zell or venmo so you dnt have to use a card & the sign that says CASH TIPS appreciated. This is my second time visiting Polished and they have a customer for life. When I arrived they asked if I wouldn't mind waiting 20 minutes, which was fine I wasn't in a hurry. I walked to Kohls, made an Amazon return and by the time I was back they seated me for my pedicure. They took their time with my fill and pedicure even though they were starting to get busy, which I appreciated. Even made sure I was okay with the length and shape of my nails. I see these wonderful people more than I see my family so it's about time I write a review! Cindy owns this business - she's incredible at what she does AND she employs the best people. I get a fill every 2 weeks and a gel pedicure once a month. Jen did an incredible job on my most recent set (fill w/ gel polish) using the color, strawberry wine - but Cindy, Kimmy, Helen, and Vanessa have ALL performed miracles on these hands. Christie does nails AND eyelash lifting & tinting - so gorgeous and very affordable! Kim does an outstanding gel mani/pedi and hand-paints a FLAWLESS french tip - I constantly think about going back to gels just for Kim tbh. The place is super clean, the staff is warm and friendly, and I'm always pleased with my nails. I'll keep coming here as long as I live on the peninsula. My first time at Polished and it was such a wonderful experience. I made an appointment but I saw they were taking walk-ins without delay which is nice. Right next to a Starbucks so that was a bonus. I had technician Shakira and honestly, she was so gentle with the drill, ZERO burns. I am going on a trip to Hawaii and I showed her a reference pic and she killed it! We used dip powder with extensions/tips and used gel for the design. 10/10 recommend her. I also had Vanessa for my pedicure (got the special gel pedicure) and I was sooo relaxed. Came in to get my nails done. They ended up charging a completely different price than what's on their menu and charged for "add ons" that they suggested and pushed. They never mentioned it would cost an additional $5-10 per add on. I don't think that's right or professional. Please do yourself a favor and check if they're up charging when they suggest different things (like fast drying polish??). I've never had a bad experience here. Walking in or with an appointment. This place is full of high energy staff who chat and fun while they're working. The chairs are comfortable and they didn't give me a hard time for sitting for nearly an hour in a massage chair while my nails dried. I chose regular polish and it takes longer to dry. Payment is simple and there was no up-sale. I do wish they had prices clearly shown on a card like the other nail spot I go to in Marina, but...no biggie: standard mani/ pedicure. I had the worst Brazilian wax of my life here. The wax wasn't warm so it was incredibly slow and painful. The waxer didn't wax everywhere, despite being aware that I was doing a Brazilian. I usually don't have a problem with the pedicures I get here, but the last time I went, the overzealous tech, rubbed me raw! I had to yell "Ow!" three times before yanking my foot away and then she snapped out of whatever daze she was in. Even worse then that, their payment system was down, so I had to use an app to pay. Not a problem except there was a lot of confusion from the staff on which app to use and whos account it goes under. Another tech had to come over to help me with the app and took my phone out of my hand before I even realized what was happening. The tech that took my phone was wearing THE SAME PAIR OF GLOVES she had on while giving another customer a pedicure. DISGUSTING!!! I doused my phone with disinfectant as soon as I got in my car. I've been coming for years and they always do a great job. I go to Kim and or her sister Kristie. They are both very detailed oriented and take pride in their work. I recently broke the nail on one of my big toes right before a vacation. Somehow Kim was able to bond it together like she was a surgeon. She did a great job and it survived a 9 day trip to Hawaii where I was hiking, swimming, and walking around corals. Kristie is also super helpful and gives great suggestions when I am not sure what color I want.
