I may have found my new go to pedicure shop...It's always scary going to a new shop bc you never know what you'll get. I called around 10 am to make a same day appt and was accommodated on a Saturday afternoon. My friend and I were seated promptly upon arrival and given a wide variety of colors to chose from. Our pedicures were quick, but thorough. Very relaxing and welcoming environment. Next time I think I'll go for the longer massage and paraffin treatment-nursing school is doing a number on my feet.
I've been here before for a pedicure and they did an amazing job but today I came in for a simple French tip manicure and three out of the five fingers needed French tip. I can tell the lady was in a rush and was not taking her time which is understandable it's a Saturday and it's busy but I feel that doesn't excuse the noticeable mistakes on my nails came. The people were very nice everyone was was very kind but my nails are not straight, the French tip is not even, and when it hits the top of my nail you can tell that it gets wider. I would come here for a pedicure, but definitely not a manicure/acrylics.
Let me start with, I'm picky when it comes to manicures. I get frustrated when I get home and notice that my nails have little messy details because once I notice, I can't stop looking at them. A friend recommended this place where she had been going for a while, so I decided to check it out. I got dip powder with the pink French tip. Hai paid good attention to detail and I didn't have anything to complain about. A few days later, however, some of my dip nails started to lift. It was probably way more noticeable because of the clear powder I asked for, as if it was a color, I probably would not have been able to tell. I called a week later and was asked to go in right away. Hai gave me a complete new pink set, which he didn't even charge me for. Honestly, I'm really impressed by the costumer service! I'll be going back!
This is our first time coming here, spontaneous girls spa day so we figured we would try this place since we were in town. I'm giving 2 stars because the workers were super nice and friendly and the salon was clean. The quality of the polish however is a different story. It's been exact a week since I got my nails done with my family and not even 3 days the polish started to chip. We all opted for gel and we all had the same issue. We don't do hard manual labor at work that would cause it to start to chip and I've gotten my nails done with gel many times before which lasted me about 2weeks. Not worth the $35-$45 spent. More than likely won't be returning.
$30 for an acrylic fill. I had the lady at station number 6, although I never bled, I had to keep checking while she used the drill because it would hurt! I even winced and she continued (I'm a shy person). While moving my hand she fudged the nail, no big deal/I knew she would fix it. She blamed me and made a side eye the rest of the time. Polish is completely under my nail with some sides larger than the other. What concerned me was that she was not wearing a mask to protect herself, which was the first thing that made me uncomfortable. Now 48 hours after as the color is spotting with a light grey (I'm assuming it's becoming see through). Looking at my nails makes me want to go in, ask for a refund, and have them take it off so I can go somewhere else. Oh, she also took personal calls while working on my nails!
On our last day in Monterey, I found it critical to treat myself to a gel mani before heading home to LA! Top Nails was about a 10 minute walk from where my boyfriend and I stayed, so the location was pretty perfect. I called ahead but still had to wait a bit once I arrived before someone was available. The gentleman who gave me my French mani was very kind and even changed the music video channel when he could tell it was really unappealing to me, as well as the other customers there. He was precise, diligent and had me on my way after about an hour. Total came to $30, and I was grateful that they accepted credit cards, as I ended up skipping another place because they were cash-only.
I cannot express enough how much I love and enjoy coming here to Top Nail. Every employee is so welcoming and I never seen such hard workers before. I've never had any issues with my nails and every nail tech there has been absolutely wonderful. Tammy is my go to girl for acrylic full sets. She's not just a nail tech, but a great listener too. She's actually invested in her clients' well being and never forgets who I am and always asks me how work is going and just overall so caring. If you need some top quality nails that last, this is the place to come! I work in hospitality/food and beverage and I'm always running food and carrying heavy items and my nails never break! Love. Love. Love.

Great nail salon. Reminds me of the smaller bustling places in San Francisco when I used to live there. The people are very friendly and the place is clean. Neat part of the pedicure was the scrub--never had that before with the orange course lotion that really helped exfoliate my calves and feet. Just when I thought it couldn't get any better, she puts a hot towel on my feet. Killer. Called ahead for an appointment but had time on my hands so showed up 1/2 hour earlier, and they were able to take me. Unfortunately, my wife got the bum end of the bargain. Her manicurist was completely checked out and preoccupied. She phoned it in. My wife's cuticles weren't totally trimmed and her paint job was shoddy. So, five stars for me, and one star for her. We round up: a "3".

Everything was PERFECT. I hadn't had a mani pedi in a while due to some medical issues. I was embarrassed by my toes but was made to feel calm and relaxed. The shop had a steady flow of customers but never seemed hectic. They handled the customers well! I had a spa pedicure followed by a manicure, it was just what I needed! I was happy to sit in the pedi chair while one person worked on my toes and another on my fingers. I chose a lavender scent for my spa treatment pedicure and with the hot stones, everything was so relaxing! I'll be back again and again! read more

Definitely the best nail spot in the area! Their price for hard gel can't be beat, and the nail tech Kelly was really nice. We talked the whole time and she always made sure I liked the nails. They accept walk ins, however they only take cash or Venmo so just be prepared ahead of time. 100% recommend! read more

Just moved to the Monterey area and have been reading reviews on all the nail salons in the area and finally decided on top nails. I called & made an appointment with Tammy (as she has so many great reviews here on yelp). My nail tech took her time on my fill, was meticulous, and made sure I was liking it every step of the way. I really like the way my nails turned out and will likely continue to come here! I payed $35 for a fill with acrylic powder and gel top coat, which I think is a fair price (it's the same amount I used to pay at my previous nail salon.) Overall I'm very happy with the service! Unless I find somewhere less expensive I will be back for my next fill read more

My review is for Tammy. She was very very good in fixing my bad acrylics done by an inexperienced technician. Her fill in was outstanding. She have me a beautiful shape and my nails looked as good as never before. She also took an appointment on a very short notice. I was in and out in a little bit over an hour with fresh pedi (someone else) and a great fill in. On the other hand, the salon itself could be kept cleaner overall, especially behind the pedi chair stations there was A LOT of dust, dirt and grime. read more

Update 10/2/2018 So disappointed in my last set. I was bummed with the last fill, the back started lifting. After getting my last nail set done at 5 different shops this one the only set that lifted at the cuticle. I thought I'd try it again. So I went asked them to remove my last set and put a new one on. It was below expectation. The nails were not done evenly do so the finger nails literally looked like they were on different hands. Also, the set was far too thin. The nails have broken. Most recent today the nail snapped in half while doing nothing impressive. Grabbing clothes out of the closet. It ripped half of the nail off gushing blood everywhere. So sadly I cannot go back. read more

I came across this place thru Yelp by checking out the best reviews near my location at the time since I was in Monterey CA for a vacation.. I had my nails done before my trip, but wanted them fixed since I didn't like how they turned out. Tammy was my nail tech, and she suggested to just start all over to fix the issue so I agreed. I'm glad I came in because not only she fixed the issue, my nails turned out so much better than I expected. She was great!! Reasonably priced. Very fast service. The gel nails are great. Definitely would recommend. They last longer than other places I've been to around town. The only thing that would be better would be a different music channel classics are always better than the current hit music read more

Got exactly what I wanted in my new set of acrylics. He nailed it on the style bawd on the photo I shared. Overall not as painful process in terms of the drilling and filing and he didn't complain about my nails that were in horrible shape before waking in. read more
