Said it looked great. Face tingling. I leave the wind hits my face and it stings.... Ok well it's just sensitive. The next morning I woke up to scabs on the rounds of my cheeks! I let her know she gave me a refund of $118. Said sorry. Seemed sympathetic. I left for my conference 2 days later with scabs on my face. Long story short I know have a scar on my right cheek. I have had many treatments other places. This has never happened to me before. So I paid $166 and change to leave with scars.

She made us feel very welcome and I really appreciated her hospitality feel. Second, Allison did my massage which to be quite honest was a 10 out of 10 for me! That's one of the best massages I've had in a very long time! Only downside was I did a 50 minute which was not even close to long enough! I would come back to her for an 80 minute hands down no questions asked! Third, they have pretty decent amenities. The tea is freakin delicious! Water a plus! Robes were comfy and they provided sandals. Awesome! Now here are the cons: 1. The pool and jacuzzi spa are outside and shared with the hotel guests so when you go outside little kids are jumping in and out of the jacuzzi, splashing around and making a lot of noise. I believe kids should be kids and not have to feel restricted. So with that said this spa is lacking in having its own private spa jacuzzi for relaxation vibes. 2. The "relaxation room" ain't so quiet. It's too close to the entrance so when people come in or check out you hear everything which is so annoying if you're trying to read or relax before or after the massage. Plus it shares a room where the staff out away the items used. So yeah lots of movement going on. 3. The steam room completely lacks steam! Which totally defeats the purpose. I hated that so much . 4. They do not have a swim suit spinner to get the water off your swim wear! You have to leave with it sopping wet in a plastic bag. That's the upside of the situation they provide a bag for you! Big Whoop! Overall I give it a 5 for what they do have and not for what they don't! So just know if you do go that's what's lacking!

I have never had a professional wax until I found Siren Sugar & Wax studio. I didnt even know what to look for in a studio, I went on instagram and in the search bar typed in #waxmonterey (or something like that) SS&WS was the first account that caught my attention. I clicked and saw a few posts and inquired about the availability and booked. I booked my appointment with absolute ease. I wasn't sure if I wanted sugar or wax, but when I arrived I was informed on the difference and took her suggestion. The hours are little weird but whatever works for them, right? Because of the hours and their repeat customers it is best to make an apt bc it is hard for them to accommodate walk in clients. I called and text Dolores and she was quick to respond. She is also very attentive and makes sure she is providing great and quality customer service, not talking on the phone or texting like many other beauty salon employees do. Because I was the only post lunch apt I did have to wait a couple minutes but that's ok. Note: this location is up a flight of stairs with no handicap/wheelchair access.

We settled on a Thursday that worked and she even wrote down that I was only available those days. Come time for my second appointment, I show up and no one is at the studio, so I give her a call. She first stated that my appointment was the day previous, which it was not, because I put it in my phone immediately, and I even wrote it on my card in the studio. She then said that my appointment was that day, but I had called to cancel it and switch it to a Monday. Again, not available that day. She also stated that she had to go to the dentist, so she wouldn't have been able to make my appointment anyways. After calling me by 3 different names, she wouldn't take it that I was not the one that called, and maybe it was a different appointment. I won't be scheduling for any more appointments and I have thrown away my coupon card. She wouldn't let me finish any sentences while talking to her and I believe she got confused when talking to a different customer about rescheduling.

Luckily I was in no rush, but it is something I noticed. The techs (didn't catch their names) were nice, I mostly stared into the abyss while they did their work. Both my mani and pedi were painless (I've had issues before) and the massages were quite nice! My toes look PERFECT, and I love the way my fingernails turned out too. If I did my math right, the design ended up costing about $30. The only issue I have is that the middle of one of my nails chipped overnight and I can see another bubble (I indented in the pic) ready to pop. I've been super careful with them, since I don't usually get my nails done I've been very gentle with my hands because I'm getting used to the gel feeling, so I'm not sure why they're chipping less than 24 hours in. I decided on gel vs. polish once I arrived since I knew they'd last longer. Unfortunately I don't live in the area so I won't be able to get them fixed, I'm also not sure if that's something that they offer. Overall, I'm happy with the experience. It was a nice relaxing way to spend the afternoon.
